  1. I actually like the Cinderella set. The carriage coloring is actually accurate to the movie and they included a side character. Little Mermaid set looks terrible! Glad they're keeping up the tradition. And an anorexic Ursula, how progressive!
  2. Belt looks weird to me, but then it's a weird looking belt in general. So really I can't decide if it's real or not. It gives me a new hope for a Bespin Leia, which it would be a great time for that to be updated given that the Lego Batman movie features a clothe coat piece.
  3. Unless I missed a post, he hasn't said anything definite, merely that he didn't think there would be a year 3. Unless he wishes to say something more definite I see no reason to get upset about it. If he had solid information than I would think he would post something less vague. He might simply be looking at the signs and warning us not to get our hopes up as it isn't looking good.
  4. I tend to think she's only mid to late 20's. I assume the age is due to her being Batman's love interest rather than Dick Graysons. Which is just as well, Dick and Bab's relationship never really seemed to pan out the majority of the time, just let him run off and join the Teen Titans so he can date Starfire. I hope we get to see the remaining members of the Teen Titans in this movie (given that we've already seen Cyborg), if only to have a chance at getting a more comic book styled version of Raven and Starfire.
  5. Not me, so many year one packs I can afford now. The Portal level pack is $15 at half price books right now, so finally I can get it. We all knew this day would come. Toys to life is a dying trend, the packs lose value after a while.
  6. B&N's in my area seem to have everything in stock, meanwhile the majority of the other stores only have been carrying a couple of sets so far. I flipped through one of the books and noticed that Poison Ivy has side leg printing in the movie, which she doesn't have in the actual set. That's a bit disappointing, I have to admit. I love the minifigure, but not continuing the printing onto the side is disappointing. I'm hoping somewhere down the line they correct this. That's literally the only flaw with this variation and even without that printing it's still the best version of Poison Ivy to date.
  7. Oh, I know. I was being sarcastic. I don't like Ariel that much, in fact my opinion for that movie falls into the dislike category. I know it started the Disney renaissance and whatnot, but I am tired of it.
  8. That's crazy everyone knows Ariel is the most popular princess, otherwise they couldn't possibly get away with releasing the same old variation again and again and get away with it. Who needs princesses like Snow White when we have a true classic Disney heroine like Ariel! Oh well, eventually they'll give us something new. Eventually...
  9. Oh good, another Little Mermaid set, I was hoping they'd go back to that empty well to squeeze just a little bit more out of it. Doubting they'd make Ursula and if they did would anyone really want an Ursula that has the proportions of a standard minidoll? The only way they'd make me interested in this set is if they did it as a minifigure set with a play featuring turning Ariel into a human. Sadly this will probably just include Ariel with the CMF hair and little else. Prove me wrong Lego, prove me wrong... It would have been a great time to do Beauty and the Beast sets. Last years offering was disappointing and with the movie out soon it would have been an ideal time. It baffles me that it's now just a Disney line, not even a Disney Princess line and yet they're still sticking only to mini-dolls and pretty much only to animated princess movies. I really think that if they're going to keep using the same franchises year after year they could at least throw in minifigure versions of the characters from time to time. It's not as if children are clamoring for an army of Ariel mini-dolls...
  10. All the local Targets in my area have started stocking the January sets already, but the majority have sold out of most of them already (plenty of the ugly Batcaves in stock though, not many seem to want that one). A week ago my closest Target insisted they wouldn't release the CMF until January 1st despite having them in stock. I accepted this but found that when I visited the store on Dec 24th they had put out the entire stock that morning and had sold out entirely. They told me to come back Monday and when I got there they were out again (although the employee I talked too wasn't sure more had actually come in). I called five Targets and between them all there was one single bag left... I'm really floored by the popularity of this CMF. The Disney one's I'm still finding but these are nowhere to be found despite each store stocking at least two boxes. I almost bought the Catwoman set, but I decided to wait as it wasn't high priority on my list. I really like the bike and I will never complain about getting another Batgirl, but that Robin again and the sort of bleak store build doesn't do much for me. It is a lot for the price I admit, but it just doesn't do much for me as a set. I'm hoping they restock the Penguin Limo soon, that one really works for me, even with the sparse minifigure selection.
  11. You said head size, which they are the same, so he wasn't wrong. As for the eyes they aren't placed as high as regular minifigure eyes, you're right on that count. Interestingly, after testing out some superhero helmets (Flash helmet and old Batgirl cowl) on the minidolls I can say that Lego only needs to make the eye holes slightly bigger on the bottom half to make them line up correctly. It was only a hair off for those two pieces. So Lego could very easily make helmet/cowls that work for both, but that doesn't mean they'd bother to.
  12. I'd agree, other than we might potentially get a new helmet for him. So, I'll reserve judgement until later. Though, I will say, it'll be stupid getting a Flash who's legs are stuck together...
  13. I've seen it, he doesn't look blind, his eyes have a supernatural look to them, the Kanan eyes just look blind to me. I do think Aquaman should have special eyes, but white eyes are really underwhelming. They should at least try to get it closer to the movie, maybe even use those weird pupils he has. On top of that neither facial expression really works for this Aquaman. Factor in that it's also missing the trademark eyebrows with that very distinctive scar. Using Kanan's head would be disappointing, it just doesn't look like Aquaman. We get enough lazy head reuses already on top of paying through the nose for these products. Given the role Aquaman is playing in JL I'm expecting Lego to at least to try.
  14. Europe got the summer Marvel sets three months before America, Lego is constantly doing this to someone, someone is always left wanting. So, it's possibly in bad form to be glad when someone else doesn't get it just because at times you have to wait, every region has experienced the wait. Take the complaint to Lego, they're the ones who deserve it, it's their choice. Good suggestion, other than the back of the hair doesn't work at all.
  15. But the aliens at least come out looking less generic and some actually get some decent printing (Even the droids get decent printing and sculpting). The people on the other hand usually come out looking like generic nameless army builders. Both of Jyn's appearances are marred by this generic look and lack of effort. A special hairpiece in the Scariff set would have set her apart from the many nameless imperial minifigures we get (Or the unending amount of female characters that Lego slaps this overused hairpiece on).
  16. I really like the Scariff set, love that build. I'm not wild about the minifigures though. Seems kind of odd that Jyn didn't get a new hairpiece, the piece they chose just doesn't fit at all. Really, looking at the 2017 sets, Star Wars seems to be falling behind in terms of minifigures. Sure, lots of special molding and printing for aliens, but regular humans seem to get the shaft in terms of design. Many characters just come out looking too generic, it's a shame that Jyn sort of falls into this category.
  17. This makes me wonder if Wizard of Oz rights were secured for this first and as a tie-in they put it in Dimensions too. That would explain why we only got one minifigure for it in Dimensions.
  18. I really love the Wonder Twins design, darn you Lego for making me want the Wonder Twins! That Cyborg, Black Canary and Hawkgirl are awesome too. Hopefully there's more sets down the line, I would really like a chance to get some of these.
  19. Looking back I kind of wish they'd done something different for Sonic. Special molding was definitely the way to go, the molded head they did is very sharp, but it looks kind of strange on the normal minifigure body. Maybe a special mold for the body would have looked better, possibly something in the vein of the Angry Birds or Scooby Doo molds, except with moving legs of course. With the Powerpuff Girls I just have a feeling they'd come out odd even if they'd done regular heads. It's just an art style that doesn't really fit into the minifigure mold. Sadly, I think the only character that would make a great minifigure would be Mojo, the others are just so oddly proportioned and shaped. Who knows though, maybe Lego has figured out a way to make it work.
  20. I hope that's the case, but there are no guarantees. All we know is that it's based on the new show. It might turn out to be better than the show, perhaps even drawing more from the original show (the Dimensions people like to throw in fan service when they can). But ultimately I wouldn't get my hopes up at this point, it could go any number of directions at this point. Personally, as much as I love the original show I'm not sure I see it working well in the Lego world. It just feels like the art style might clash. Hopefully we get pictures soon, I'm not sold on those molded heads yet.
  21. Well, it most definitely is as the new show uses nearly the exact same art style and characters. So, there's no possible way it couldn't be since the current show is already an extension of the old. That being said, the logo matches the current show, so I would expect it to draw more from the new show than the old, meaning I would expect the current voice actresses rather than the cast we all know and love.
  22. Well, I believe they have lantern powers, so cheap cash-in...
  23. Interesting, Spidey has two costumes in the trailer; his Stark made costume and what looks to be his handmade one. It would be nice if Lego manages to give us the handmade one in one of the sets, that would be an awesome variation to get. Should make for some interesting sets.
  24. I said new arms like the ManBat arms, not the same exact pieces. The wings on the bat arms wouldn't work for the webbing wings at all, it would have to be a new piece. I would prefer the arms be a little bent as minifigure arms are always a little bent.
