  1. I'd like a reimagined version of 6986: Mission Commander
  2. The green light is supposed to be on when the control unit receives electricity. Maybe the power supply is uneven in some way? Maybe it's the power cable? Have you tried different rooms or attaching the gray power bricks to different pieces of rail or building a new track? Dust can also cause problems with the connectivity. Try asking in the train section https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/forum/122-lego-train-tech/
  3. A Majisto set with a green dragon would be so cool but unfortunately they haven't produced the dragon body since the black and gold dragon in Orient Expedition in 2003. Maybe they still have the molds because not many sets included dragons?
  4. That sounds exactly like the Western theme from the 90s where the bandits were the bad guys and also like a good idea. I always considered the Indians a good guy faction in Western. But speaking of collectible minifigures, if they ever do Western themed minifigs again maybe they could do very realistic Native American outfits since many seem to be interested in that approach? For a regular theme I prefer a more generic approach but in CMF more realistic outfits could work and maybe portray different tribes and include some information with the minifigure like a collectible card with information and history about the culture that is depicted. This approach could actually work with any culture in any country.
  5. That's what's being done with many toys and there's nothing wrong with it. It's impossible to demand complete accuracy from toys, No one cares if the uniforms of the Imperial Guards are not 100% period accurate and Lego Vikings have helmets with horns which real Vikings did not have (I'm Scandinavian and I don't care about if Vikings are looking historically incorrect because it is just supposed to be a fun toy) but as soon as it comes to non European factions people are so easily triggered by minor stuff. No one today can blame something that happened 200 years ago for their present situation.
  6. Thanks! It seems that the poster is for a promotional video. The flesh colored minifigs represents the kids from the video. Yellow minifigs would've been much cooler but at least it's consistent with the real people=flesh minifigs policy and that means City and CMF minifigs stays yellow and that's a very good thing
  7. That's true. Maybe the current format is the best one after all.
  8. Thank you!
  9. I think that the contest was very well managed and everything went smoothly. The only thing I'd change is the categories. Completely new designs based on older Pirate subthemes and their style should be separate from reimagined more modern versions of old sets.
  10. Congratulations to the winners. Those builds are amazing!
  11. Do you have a link to a picture of that poster?
  12. With that logic it wouldn't be possible to do any theme or minifigure. Bad stuff has always happened and will unfortunately also happen now and in the future. Previous subthemes like Islanders and Indians/Native Americans were very respectful and they will never be 100 % accurate because Lego is a building toy and not an accurate model. No one complains about sets that are based on "European" factions when they are not historically or culturally accurate and those who complain about Islanders or Indians very seldom have any connection to the peoples those subthemes are based on. All the complaining only leads to less variety among cultures represented by Lego sets or themes which is not a good thing.
  13. This build has everything you want from a space set. I really hope that this become a real set.
  14. I meant it to be a satellite but maybe I should give it arms and a head so it would be a robot instead?
  15. That is an excellent idea! There is a similar discussion in "Is it possible to reintroduce old sets". If that would go on for years we would get Fright Knights sooner or later.
  16. I agree that it's highly unlikely that they will bring them back but similar problems may arise with future one off sets in the same style as the Galaxy Explorer or the Blacktron Cruiser if they belong to one of the subthemes I mentioned earlier. For those two all the correct colors still exist and they only used the original colors and really tried to keep the colors and design language with more recent building techniques and parts. I remember seeing some picture last year of the official Lego color palette with an expiration date for one of the trans neon colors. BTW do any recently released sets (2023) have trans neon green or orange parts?
  17. For most sets from the 80s and the 90s that could be reintroduced all colors are still available or something similar is (like bluish gray instead of regular gray), but what about the subthemes that uses trans neon orange or trans neon green? Are those colors still available? M-Tron, Blacktron 2, Robo Force, Ice Planet, Exploriens and Spyrius rely on those themes for important parts like canopies and visors. Maybe Spyrius and Exploriens could use trans blue visors instead but for the others it is impossible to recreate their style without those two colors. Do we have official confirmation that those colors are discontinued or will be?
  18. That sounds very promising. Thank you for the information! So am I. We live in very exciting times with new Space sets coming every year. I had already given up on getting new Blacktron sets but then the Blacktron Cruiser happened and I felt just as excited building it as I was back in the day when Blacktron 1 was available. A new Renegade would be so cool!
  19. What exactly is Lego Moments? Is it reimagined sets like the Galaxy Explorer or is it something completely different? Do we have any new information about it? Sorry about all the questions!
  20. Of course kids and parents appreciate themes and subthemes and tend to like some more than others because of the style of the theme and what they depict. Most of them just don't care about the movies they are based on, at least among the people I've talked to.
  21. They should release new sets for the Royal Knights simultaneously with the Fright Knights and do a lot of marketing. I believe it would be popular with both kids and AFOLs. But unfortunately Lego seems nowadays more interested in making sets based on popular mass culture.
  22. Many of my friends have children and when they buy sets for them they just buy sets that look cool or interesting, they don't care if it's Star Wars, Marvel or Avatar. Sometimes the kids ask for specific sets and then it's often Ninjago. Of course the fans of the media franchises buy their own sets but I believe kids and their parents buy most of the sets that are sold. I have specifically asked them about their buying patterns. I often buy lots of random bricks in plastic bags at yard sales and when I sort the bricks I use to give away the bricks I don't need to friends' kids or to a local youth center where I used to work. Most of those parts belong to licensed themes but the kids build whatever they want with them and I've never heard them mention any specific media franchise.
  23. Wow, If I only knew of that back then. When I was a kid/teenager we had an RV and travelled all over Europe and I always tried to subscribe to local Lego magazines but they never shipped the magazines to Finland. It was only possible to get Swedish magazines besides the Finnish ones (I'm Swedish but born in Finland). I remember that the Swedish Donald Duck comics (Kalle Anka) often had very cool Lego ads on the back of the magazine. Once they included a Futuron/Classic Space comic about an astronaut and a robot. I still have those comics in a box somewhere. I knew of some of the NA only sets because when relatives from the US and Canada visited they always brought Lego sets with them for me because they knew how much I liked Lego. That's how I found out about Dark Forest and at first my friends didn't believe me that such a subtheme existed but then I showed them the small catalog that was included in a Canadian bought set. We then tried to recreate the sets with my existing parts.
  24. That is not a valid point because of course all themes "compete" against each other. There are tons of small sets for both Star Wars and Ninjago to name a few themes. If they find room for 12!!! licensed themes they should easily be able to accommodate two classic themes + City and Ninjago as regulars on the unlicensed side. Big detailed sets such as the Galaxy Explorer and the Lion Knights Castle could easily be included in larger waves of Space and Castle.
  25. We can agree to disagree
