[MOC] Black Pearl (Version 4 of the Elephant Knight)
DonQuixote replied to Elephant Knight's topic in Pirate MOCs
Looks great. The sails are better then Lego's version. The captains cabin looks like a mix between Lego BP and mocyourbricks BP. From all BP mocs I have seen aI still prefer Lego's design. But they really messed up with the flat sails. -
[POLL] Rate the 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
DonQuixote replied to Yperio_Bricks's topic in LEGO Pirates
The sails are too flat . Remake Black Seas Barracuda did a better job with the sails. The price of the set ( but that's normal for Lego ) I give it a 9 Remake of Black Seas Barracuda gets a 10 from me It was my comeback set after a long dark age. -
Struggling to straighten 16x32 baseplate
DonQuixote replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Put it between a heavy load of books for a month. I have straightened bended base plates from other brick brands that way. It works. -

If it was €300, it would be a no brainer for me to buy it. -
[OFFICIAL] LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
DonQuixote replied to CloneCommando99's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thank you for replying. I am from Europe so no tariffs. No interest in interior nor gun mechanics. BP has the best design but the QAR has the better colors. I think I'm going for BP but not at that price. Waiting for a discount or the Sea Serpent remake gwp next year. Pirates is my second favorite theme right after Classic Castle and before Classic Space. I like Pirates of the Caribbean films in general but I prefer the more realistic Master and Commander -
[OFFICIAL] LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
DonQuixote replied to CloneCommando99's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ow yes the Queen Anne's Revenge from Bluebrixx, previously named La Concordia before taken over by Blackbeard. My intention was to buy it but when I heard rumours about a new Lego Black Pearl I decided to wait until the Lego Black Pearl was revealed. I am going to buy a ship but I am still undecided if it's going to be the Lego Black Pearl or the Queen Anne's Revenge from Bluebrixx. Any thoughts on what to buy? I can't buy both. Too expensive. -

That's why this is so expensive. Lego knows those black hull pieces are in huge demand and pricey on Bricklink -

Tot bad Jang is not going to buy and review this set. He said it is to expensive for what you get. That's why he is the best Lego reviewer. No member of LAN. Reviews of people who get sets for free.... are not objective enough. -

I agree with removing the underwater hull. Don't agree with yellow minifigs. Licensed sets should always have flesh tone. Yellow heads are for unlicenced classic themes. But I do prefer classic pirates over Pirates of the caribbean. So I can understand why you would want yellow heads. To the Lego company : give us a remake of the caribbean clipper ftom 1989 with a decent interior and shooting canons! -

It could have been cheaper without the stand and under water hull -

I will wait for a serious discount. I will not buy it at that price. For me the 2020 remake Black Barracuda is still the best Lego pirate set at €200. I know, inflation, Disney tax... But I feel I'm beeing ripped of at that price and I don't like that feeling. So for now a pass for me. The ship is beautiful, the minifigs are ok. -

I am hoping for a space police 1 set or a remake of the Black Knights castle from 1992 -

Combining Castle sets with walls

As a kid I just made my own castles with those wall panels and raised baseplates -
I have been once in Billund in 1993 and I was dissapointed that the sets were not cheaper overthere. Miniland is fantastic, especially the giant castle and Amsterdam canals. The giant duplo made Eldorado Fortress was impressive. So did you kiss the holy ground? We Lego lovers should start to pray to the direction of Billund. For me it's to the north. And maybe introduce a month of fastening. No building or playing Lego for a month. We need a holy man, a kind of pope of Lego we could worship. Yes Legoism should be a religion.
