42177 Mercedes G500 4X4

Maybe it's ugly!? -
Agree! This year will be expensive for me! ...or pseudo fluffy like wet Chewbacca ...very disturbing looking thing. Please don't get me wrong Chewy is a fantastic and very solid set. The "fluff" with all the reflections just looks to busy (at least to me). I'm going to tell Finny later that he has fans now!

How many electric parts where harmed during filming? You're a brave person! Nearly making a submarine out of your build! I like that drive train and the look of your build. Nice that you built a proper exterior! The speed and climbing abilities are amazing especially considering the motor configuration!

Oh no poor little thing (Cat and wallet too)! But As long as he's fine now it's okay-isch i think? no orange bricks i guess. Tiago made a video. With some inside views of a cat (link with timestamp): Luckily the brick cat isn't so super expensive. So there's some room for an upgrade. Luckily having some black slopes in a dbg cat is okay or even may look interesting/good. BTW: My two little boys are also wearing tuxedo. Sorry for the cat content spam! @Lyichir how are your cats looking? IMG_20240323_102254 by Pow, @Flickr

42177 Mercedes G500 4X4

Wow, I learned more about the G-Class in a very short time than I ever wanted to know in my life! It's impressive how many chassis were installed in the many versions of the G so far! But I would like to start a different story with my post: Lego might want to present itself a little more grandiosely to the public again (after the relatively unpopular 42129 Zetros). Daimler has shown with the Cada AMG that they do NOT give their licenses exclusively to TLG. Of course, the two vehicles (Cada's AMG and TLG's 42177 G500) have different target groups. But Lego would be well advised to try and make a statement with the G500. I think we can expect an iteration of the 42110 Defender. No more and no less. I.e. there will be parallels like a single limited slip differential, more gears to shift through and the mechanisms will be a bit smoother. But I think that's it. Question: Will the 42117 actually be sold through Mercedes dealers? If so, as a Daimler customer I would expect the Lego version to come as close as possible to the road version (especially as far as the chassis is involved). -
@JaBaCaDaBra damn that cat is beautiful! ...and the Lego one too. I wonder what colors are hidden inside the cat (i mean in the bricked one)?! Please don't open your cat for investigation! If there are some useful colors hidden inside, this set could become a powerhouse for new creations.

That's why i still prefer PF over PU! Nicely done! -
Hi, i don't know if this is the right place for creator (and other system based) alternates. But i made a cute little bunny that you may like. This is my first alternate for the 31148 Roller Skate. Its ears are slightly fold-able. picture by Pow, @Flickr picture by Pow, @Flickr You find the instruction at my Ko-Fi.

Jurss' Workshop

This piston configuration is perfect to do VW's VR6 Engine. It's an inline V6. As there is a good article on wikipedia i think it's the best to leave out the description on how it works and looks and just add a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VR6_engine -
That's really a french/hot hatchback ...with all the body work and spoilers. The bonnet needs some curvature (in my humble opinion). Do you have some 18944 panels laying around? They are also lighter than the many liftarms. Or if you want to keep the weight at the front wheels you could try to go for liftarms 32348? Can't wait to see a video, too.

No superlative can describe what you have created! I actually think it's quite good that it doesn't drive. As TLG's motors would be way too weak to move the Batmobile adequately!

Very good looking design! Youtube is merciful to you. Your MOC was front paged to me. When you mount the buwizz motors one stud behind would it be possible to rotate the lower one of the two motors down? ...to get a lower center of gravity? Same for the stepped servo? You also could build a steering without gears. The current configuration never will drive straight on, i guess? ?_?

Construction is progressing slowly. I am currently still in the prototyping phase. The idea with the two-axle "trailer" cannot be realized with the limited parts. The whole MOC has to be much smaller and more compact. The next step will be to move one axle in front of the tracks. And to discard the second axle. This offers some structural advantages. For example, the platform on which the superstructure rests can be changed in length more easily. The entire development is recorded. In the end, the video material is turned into some kind of fast forward build vlog. It's pretty boring, tbh. Here is part 1...

Another 4WD Drift Chassis Project
pow replied to FriedlS's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Interesting! I would have expected the thinner ones to drift more controllable/better. ?_? Because i would expect harder tires to tend to slip earlier. I don't know what's wrong with my browser, but your images are nonexistent for me. Maybe some JS issue as i have disabled a few sources. -
Another 4WD Drift Chassis Project

Your MOC was presented to me on YT. Looks promising! And the build is super neat and compact! May i ask you(all drift chassis operators) a question? You all are using the wider tire-rim-combination (56145), at least on your 3D models. What about using the thinner rims (56904 + 30699)? As these tires are harder. And how would it behave using 4 of the thinner wheels per axle, instead of just two? Happy new year, btw.
