  1. Since i dont have free time now (2 job simultaneously), I build lego in my head during days. Some ideas in my head are very old, but still not realized in bricks. If I want to make a copy (all my plans are copys now), I have to be sure that I can make some body elements with existing lego pieces. Sometimes I calculate the scale using not wheels (as many do) as starting point, but technc panels (for example panels for bonnet). Since I like to build offroaders, wheel size is not a problem when I calculate scale: you can always use a liitle bit larger wheel and lifted suspension, just be sure that final result is not a Monster Truck:) When I want to replicate some key and well-known details of real model (usually it is a front lights with grille, and some unique body shapes) - I can start from building this parts first, using Lego system parts also. Often, you can make good body, but if front lights with grille are copied bad - final result is also bad. 1 month ago I installed LDD to my netbook (working slow, but better than in my head:)). I learned it fast, and now I have very good modelled body of my future project. I spent a little time, comparing with real bricks building. Now I can start with bricks, using LDD model and I am sure that final result will be awesome. Reccomend try LDD to everybody!, who did not discovered it yet;)
  2. sixhole with axle hole and dont forget about muscle lovers! of course, you better know strength of this plastic, so you can say if it is not possible... I am afraid that this rims will be only for shelf...
  3. May be it is better ask him to design new rims of this size with better offset? We should ask him at the end of the week.
  4. Thanks, Is it possible to print strong and playable Steering CV joint axle with longer axle (2-3 L)? I mean will it be strong enough for needs of wheel driving? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92906
  5. What about 3x2x5 ? Those small panels will be good for small models
  6. Wheels are toooo big for drift at that drivetrain config.
  7. Hi Owen! i am Egor! Welcome!
  8. Mamba used the smae configuration, and stalling is not dependending on which power source you use. I think your problems is about weight of model and gear reduction you choose. Buggy motor dont like too much friction, weight, big wheels (more than 50 mm) and gearing up. To say simple, he like when rotating is easy without stress. When my mamba used rubber based auto-centering steering mechanism, buggy motor did not stall. When I used hockey-spring auto-centering buggy motor stalled very often. Using Servo is good for preventing overloading, but it is not as fast, as m motor. When drifting - you need quick steering with big steering lock. Which tires and gear reduction you have? If you can post pictures, we can find the problem.
  9. Thank you, friend:) Communism video is here, and very nice model, that everyone will like, especially here in Russia;)
  10. Edwin, thats you won the jackpot! Your building skills and love to details are awesome. You have a good time now: doing your favourite thing with almost unlimited budget:) My congratulations! Good luck;)
  11. May be there is a small note somewhere in corner of the box "you should buy 2x42030 in order to build this babe" :)
  12. May be I am not right, but we can't see him among designers at technic page of lego.com
  13. So, the designer of flagship is Anders, designer of 8043. He moved to another department, but now we see he continue to design fully RC construction machines from time to time. Talent is not missed:) EDIT/Clarification by Moderator: The designer of the Volvo model is Uwe Wabra
  14. What about rear part of cab? on original cab it is bent...
  15. Piterx, watching your models progress step by step is very intersting. I would like to see WIP!
  16. Hi I used this parts (but in SILVER chrome) http://www.bricklink.com/imgView.asp?imgID=J131859&viewFrom=SD&invID=37399826&itemText= Bl number bb291 http://www.bricklink.com/imgView.asp?imgID=J65950&viewFrom=SD&invID=21344849&itemText= Bl number 32013

What do you mean "do"? :)
  19. I like your style man since Moskvitch. VW is also very realistic. Hope we will see its syncro transmission in action;)
  20. Just bought Ev3 mindstorms 31313 for 170 euro. It is about 50% off in Russia. Reason - main EV3 block is not working, as seller noted. I planned to sell all motors and sensors, then leave other parts for my needs. But when I got set, I found that Ev3 Unit works, but OS is not loading ("starting" message and nothing happens). I have upgraded Firmware, and now it works well:)))) and now I dont know what to do with EV3, because i never worked with mindstorms:) Now I have to build something to play with my 4years old son using iOs device (he like my iPad). Afraid to be captured by new Lego theme:)))))
  21. Wow! Sweet:)
  22. What about these wheels? They are about 80 mm and narrower than your wheels
  23. May God help you to get through this pain.
  24. Good choice of tires. They can be changed to 81 mm offroad balloons from 42005 to make Pinin look more angry;) Waiting for first pics;) May the force be with you, PiterX!
