  1. Don’t worry. I think, TLG just mixing cards, including for Chinese fake sets producers. And that old PF remote control is just a hint for retail catalogue target users: this thing is remote controlled. So, just wait for final box design with right pictures.
  2. Hello, we've just finished our online building contest "summer adventure". And I have to say: we a have a lot good content, that we don't want you to miss. 1 st place Camper Ford F350 (1970) author: Baranov Alexey 2 nd place Range Rover SVA autor: Stas Revin 3 rd place Camping truck with extendable wall section author: Alexander Radyushkin other detailed info about all MOC's here https://vk.com/topic-40661157_41584258 Have a nice building and inspiration
  3. I am more than sure, that was Nico's idea...or there is one more Honda-head in French community
  4. You should know hidden rules, material and time limit, before expectate something from such first-time ever project sponsored by LEGO. I am more than sure that that was pure volunteer work. IMHO better be more respectful or say nothing at all like there is no internet wall between you and people, because your subjective critics is absolutely non-objective "I don't like it because they promised something BIG that I will like (or not?), and I dont care how it works and how hard it was". For example, If you say "video presentation is poor, we don't see building, setup progress, and closeups of working mechanics" - i can agree, and this is more objective. Critics should be constructive and leave place for peaceful dialog. If someone say me "you do s@%t", I can tell him from eye to eye in the same language from "So, in that case what are you looking here?" to "I don't care what you think" - rude, but fair.
  5. Expecations of your feedback was greater than your real emotions. That was not your birthday present project. Go and do better
  6. You had a lot of fun there! thank you
  7. Keep building! I love this style and scale. What about smaller engine like in Mack?
  8. Awesome work with small scale!
  9. If they will release mustang, then we'll clearly see that Sheepo is a LEGO employee and one of the next sets will be something from his YouTube channel. (Of course this is not true)
  10. Hello @efferman Could you design this part? I need it for Akiyuki GBC module 36 pcs https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=x85&idColor=22
  11. Will be happy to get such product with RC-like remote control, and proportional control, even sipmpified with 3-5 speed steps...
  12. Looks like their mission is to "sell" as many as they can, telling "it's a new presell product" and then disappear together with site. Until there are not only poor people, but also stupid - there is a place for those who can use this situation for profit. And possibilities to do this are unlimited. Free chesse is only in the moustrap.
  13. No offence to China, I think the problem is somewhere in government structures that protect chinese companies and help to develop economics (and its growth last years is a good result of such politics). But in the other hand is often violation of IP rights. This doesnt mean you don't have innovations: we have a lot of examples of chinese companies-leaders with quality products (DJI, Zhiuyn...right?). I also understand people buying cheap porducts - we also have the same situation in Russia. As LEGO ambassador I should protect our community from supporting copycat stolen products, but by my heart I also understand people and even more kids who have no other choice. As a kid I remeber how expensive LEGO was for my parents, and even small 50-piece LEGO town set made me happy. Thank you for your oppinion
  14. Very well done! FJ70 is also in my list to do. Is that Baltic sea?
  15. Is there anyone here, who knows more about Crowdfunding platforms? Which one is better for LEGO Instructions specific? I am going to test it soon. Open for your advices?
  16. What is the difference between "1) someone doing instruction for me for a fee" and "2) I spent my private time learning many applications and making instruction instead of LEGO building or have time with family"? Is it mean you support # 1 as a seller more than # 2 or I am wrong? In that case, why that person from # 1 do not do instructon for free? Time is resource that you can exhange for something in return. Money is just an universal exchange, and for some - god. I know the price of my hour or a day. If someone thinks another way, he may be too young, or living his own life. This does not mean I will not move my finger for free. You can do many kind things in you life, not waiting for something in return. Is there anyone here who think he can be rich selling good MOCs BI ? But I am sure that everyone who do his work (even hobby) good, deserve any kind of reward. There are a lot of artist who's talent started as a hobby, and then they conquered the world. And I will be glad if someone can make LEGO hobby his everyday work of dream without loosing inspirationa and flame inside. We both know that there are exmaples in our community. We do not have the moral right to judge people for a good work, especailly when we spent our working time at office browsing internet and smoking every 30 minutes I know many people reading this post. And there are many points of view. Let's say the truth, how many of us here are caring for others more than for himself/own family? Share for free, or sell. Buy or build free. Do as you want. Do not judge, and you will not be judged
  17. Thank you. Here is a good example for you and other builders: https://rebrickable.com/users/Madoca1977/mocs/?sort_sets_by=1&sort_sets_dir=D# You dont need to steal IP to be succesful builder. No matter what you think, there will be a people that build cool, and people that want to build it too. How could you ask first to spent a lot of effort on making instruction for second? Is that selling protected design or just a combination of connected bricks in the picture...? Let everyone decide themsevles. I did it for me. All other too.
  18. in that case, play less, work better, earn more and die young Early adopters can get it cheaper and support the whole idea of making BI, or got nothing at all. As for photosequence, youtube is not only getting income now and here. You can legally share video using copyrighted music (and its rights holder get all income) but this music can give a posititve mood for video, and you will get new subscribers. I believe that some content can be not profitable, but will more valuable in long-term strategy. Well, I just give an idea and we discuss it. No target to change someone's realation to theft, IP and so on. Who is sinless here - drop a lego brick at me.
  19. ok, I understand your point. I know some brands, that are very loyal to fans that replicate their brand with bricks. Since you are not a big company that earn big amount of $ selling IP - you are not a problem for them
  20. Why can't he sell his instruction after CF campaign from his site? Or even make it free as youtube photo sequence with monetization After CF campaign designer is rewarded and satisfied. So copying is still a problem, but disappointment is compensated. You were 1 step before thiefs
  21. True. I thought about that, sharing at CF should be without brand marks. But if we dig deeper: this is not a big loss for car brands, may be even some kind of promo. In other hand, selling instructions is the only compensatition/motivation for LEGO Builders. Closed cirlce. Be or not to be...
  22. Don't you wanna come back home, to Edem garden, to build free Lego there?☺️
  23. Guys, we can't save builders from thiefs, like we can't save this world from dying and defeat sin. And we also can't help people who buy cheaper toys, that's their choose according to family income. Question is how to help MOC builders (who provide quality MOCs and instructions that people want to buy) not to loose inspiration keep buildng and sharing. I told about crowfunding as one of the ways. If you have built good moc and people ask you for instruction in the comments (this doesnt mean every of them is real potential builder of this MOC) I see the only way to test demand: get the prepay using CF platform and then start making building instruction, if campaign will reach needed point of reward, that designer set. Yes it takes time, but if your MOC is finished, shared to public your name means something in LEGO hobby world = you have reputation you know how to do instruction, you can do it and get reward, or all money will be returned back to voters
  24. After another stealing of @brunojj1 McLaren I start thinking "How Instruction designers can protect themselves" from MOC thiefs? What do you think about instruction crowdfunding? Nothing can save us from chinese copycats and stealed MOCs, but such thing as crowdfunding can guarantee a minimal fixed reward for experienced builder, for example, designer can make quality instruction if at least 50 buyers can vote for it an pay real money at CF platfrom. So getting minimal but sensible reward can save from disappointment, when fakers release a set only 1 month after you release instruction. More of that, I sell instruction (of course pay to authour) at my site of one technic AFOL (he know that), and I mark every PDF with buyer's email. This can not save from professional thiefs, but at least customer will be more careful with IP. Share you thoughts
