42099 - 4x4 X-treme Off-Roader
rm8 replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There is no need for them to be strong, really. Since you have 5.5 times gearing down hubs after CVs. In 99% times CVs will be low loaded, unless you would like to use CVs in other places than rotating planetary hubs. Comparing to old CVs, YES: new are much storonger and are made from HARD plastic -

Hello:) my review is a 60 minutes movie. But I tried to look at every detail, sometimes comparing to 9398. English subtitiles are in progress - my assistant work hard (5 evenings of work), but you can try autotranslated subtitiles. Hope, one day I can share English synchronous translated versions together with my native language release. -short LEGO rc models history - detailed review of new parts, including measured rpm and torque in comparison with PF - mod possibilities and preview with different tires including RC - standard uphill test, diagonal, outdoor to day the truth I am tired of myself in this video. Hours of work.... -

I also believe this is WIN-WIN partnership. Yes, it help TLG to sell more authentical machine toys, but again: so many small banners with your brand around the world - priceless. Just imagine how many offline LEGO shops and online sites will be filled with your brand: Volvo, Mack, BMW, Porsche, Claas, Liebherr, Harley-Davidson and even Bugatti. In my mind LEGO should not pay for that for sure. -
Thank you for sharing. It was interesting to read you blog. I wrote you a personal message ↗️

42110 - Land Rover Defender

That’s not stock at all. Such flexibility is a problem when you have stabilizers. If you need a good on- and off-road capabilities you should choose, or make electric on/off stabilizers like last Wranlger. If you want to compare tuned suspension travel, tell that independent is ? to trophy truck drivers;) Use difflockers when not enough travel... Update: stock Defender is just a base for good off-roader as stock UAZ. Both bad quality, both retro looking, but UAZ is way cheaper. As mentioned above, if you need a crawler - you don’t need Defender old or new, you don’t need land cruiser, even with solid axles. If you need universal expedition car for active life - new def is good, but I think there is a better choice for the same money. Old Defender now is a status car, and if someone need a car that will not leave him alone with a broken car far from civilization, they usually choose other cars. -

I must say, SUV's usually seem weak because of independent suspension and no ladder frame, but it is not so simple with Range Rover/Land Rover platform. JLR have enough experience in pneumatic suspenison, and second - leading techlologies in 4x4 transmission management software. They are good enough at offroad, of course not good in terms of endurance offroad, but pass obstacles easy as old bold Land Cruisers. It is just a question of powerful engine, proper tires and robust CV joints:) Check this out. -

In February 2019, Jaguar Land Rover shocked the automotive press by announcing their long-rumored inline-6 engine. Instead of being a conventional engine, the new 3.0L petrol inline-6 motor combines with a 48 volt electric architecture to enable an electric supercharger, belt-starter generator and extended engine shut offs while coasting and/or while stopped in traffic. The new engine is initially being offered in the Range Rover Sport in two power outputs, 360PS and 400PS. Both are considered to be mild hybrid electric vehicles. The 48 volt electrical architecture JLR announced with this new engine is similar to Mercedes-Benz's "EQ Boost" and Audi's 48V system available on their new models such as the A6, A7, A8 and SQ7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingenium_engine_family -

You better explore (I am lazy) current lineup of engine at Jaguar and Land Rover models. I am doubt they keep inline 6. Modern cars use inline 4 turbo and v6 with/without turbo -

Some members here are <18 for sure, or watch tv too much..No problem. To follow topic, I must admit that sequential gearbox should be based on Chiron’s gearbox clutches. Did somebody mention that already? -

modern life is a big mockup, fake, false. People prefer to look like, not be. Most people buy defenders and G wagens to look brutal That's a style, like a clothes we buy
