  1. Just a tangent - I notice the pictures not being sharable because they're considered leaks. I think we had this with the early Lion Knights Castle and Forest Hideout sets, and certain places using crude drawings to accompany the leaks. Is that considered acceptable in this case? I just think it's weird to discuss without some visual reference. That being said, I've heard some people compare the watchtower part of the set to Guarded Inn. I kind of see the reference if I squint hard, and I think it'd be a cool throwback if they had one of the buildings actually be a nod to Guarded Inn, complete with the sign at the front.
  2. I'll have to say, some of the LOTR headgear would be wonderful for their Helmet collection series
  3. It's not obvious enough to look like either the Black Falcons or the Lion Knights, so it really makes me curious what it actually is in there. If they're going the purist route, it should be the Crown Knights, but it doesn't look like their color either. But again, blurry image so hard to say either way.
  4. Barad Dur I see acceptable as microscale, since it's best utilized as a setpiece or a backdrop piece anyways. It's not like minifigs are meant to be placed right up next to the Eye of Sauron anyways. But this is definitely exciting news, and I hope it paves the way for more sets. I'm still looking for a quality brick-built Nazgul+Felbeast or Balrog set.
  5. Looks like it could be based in Kingdoms? The Guard looks like it's using the Dragon Kingdom colors. Hard to tell, I don't think the Dragon Knights were even in the original MMV. I hope they keep this in theme with Classic, but that's just my preference. I mean, they're using the yellow and red flags which should be more in line with the Lion Knights anyways. I'm really happy about the scale of this. It looks fitting alongside the Castle, at least in better scale than say the Blacksmith. I think the buildings might still be a big tall and peek a bit over the Lion Castle's walls, but could that could be fixed by slightly elevating the castle. I really dig the brown trees and I'm happy they went with this. I do think that it might clash with the black trees of the Lion Knight's castle and the Forest Hideout. There's also that pine-looking tree in the middle back that could be interesting. More animals is also great. This is exactly what I was looking for. I never really cared for the goat, but it's a nice addition after all the fans wanting it for so long. I'm not happy about the Jester reusing the Minstrel tunic once again. I don't like them dipping into the CMF series so directly, and I hope this is just a matter of it being a prototype. And even if not for this particular set, I still want the Wolfpack to return. We have a town guard, and we could really use a bandit of some sort (that isn't just more Forestmen). As for price, I really hope this one is a lot more reasonable than the castle. I also hope it's not Lego Direct, so I can actually reasonably get this on sale outside of some VIP promo. I can easily see this being a $300+ (CAD) set.
  6. I think they're doing this set right. Focus everything on the main sections and make em look good. MOC builders can then take that style and run with it and expand as they please. It's a smart move. Better than expanding it out but losing out on the detail, better than making it microscale. I think what we see so far is a happy medium
  7. Considering the roof and all the leaves and rocks there, that's 6k easy. Tons of small parts for the details here.
  8. Definitely interested in the village, just wish we got a better shot of the buildings. Not a fan of them reusing the Bard dude's torso again though, feels like a copout for them tapping into CMF figures so much.
  9. They pop back on and are gone so fast, haha. I'll just wait for the demand to die down like it did for the Black Falcon torsos, and hopefully time a nice big PAB purchase with a decent GWP or 2xVIP promo. I'm just hesitant on getting the bardings right now. I love the idea of having more bardings and they're decently priced, but I'm really not a big fan of the new designs.
  10. I'm just happy the visors are available for purchase. Been waiting all too long for that. I have so many unvisored helms I could make use of for new knights.
  11. I figure Liscencing might also affect the price per piece ratio.
  12. This got me thinking hard about this. The piececount and price point really do make it look like Microscale is the best option for it. If it's Minifigure scale... what could this actually be? A $500 diorama style set with minifigures? An actual playset doesn't really fit. Considering liscenced properties tend to have a lower price-per-piece ratio while the piece count is in the 6000 range, I can't really wrap my head around what this would be if not microscale.
  13. Really surprised they mentioned Rings of Power by name, but I can see the Amazon series literally being the reason they're revisiting the LOTR franchise at all. It's all piggybanking on a new series, much like how they ushered in the original LOTR sets around the time of the Hobbit Movies. Still, I think Lego name dropping RoP is an odd reference. Unlike the movies, I don't think the series has much young audience appeal at all.
  14. I think he was talking about the prints on the minifigure torso.
  15. I'd love to get more of those Lion torsos, same with the Black Falcons if they ever get back in stock in Canada. I kinda missed out the first time, I didn't realize PAB counted towards the GWP when I was trying to muster up $200 for the Forest Hideout. Had I known, I woulda gotten the Black Falcons when they were still in stock. But I find myself hesitating mixing these new guys in with my classic army. Anyone else feel the same way? It's like I have two sets of Black Falcons and Lion Knights and Forestmen now; the Classics in one batch and the New guys in their own sets.
  16. What are the helmets from? I don't recognize them
  17. I didn't even notice the dragon in the set was green. Yeah, Red Dragon would be way more iconic to the D&D line. Also, bigger horns please
  18. I'm really doubtful that it'd be microscale. Like, why even pick Rivendell as a set if you're not going to have minifigures of the Council of Elrond? That's the entire point of a Rivendell set. Otherwise I think there's plenty of other LOTR settings that be better for Microscale, like Osgiliath.
  19. I'd be all for this if it's similar to what they've been doing with Star Wars and Jurassic Park. Lego should really make a whole side-brand out of this. It's a no brainer
  20. I wasn't a big fan of RoP. It didn't feel in spirit of the movies, it felt like it was doing its own thing while borrowing designs from the movies. I would much rather they bring back and continue the original line, sort of like how they revisit old Star Wars sets and modernize them for a new 18+ audience. I'd love to see sets for the Balrog and the Witch King on Fellbeast, stuff we didn't really get to see back then that would be possible today.
  21. Really hoping they plus this up with some minifigures/accessories that are authentically recognizeable as D&D. I like what I see in the fan made set, it just doesn't scream D&D outside of the Beholder in the cave area. I get that the minifigs in the fan display can only really be represented with parts that already exist in Lego, I just hope the real set will pick some D&D specific races and make em look authentic.
  22. Been seeing a video online that talked about the bags being sorted in a particular order. Anyone know if this is confirmed to be true or not, in their experience or otherwise? Seems like the Falconer and Orc are on the right side of the box.
  23. Looks like Carrot guy from the new CMF24
  24. For the most part, (TLG's) marketting is blind. Look at how long it's taken for them to even recognize that their Classic Castle and Space brands have the power that they do right now. It should have been very apparant well before their 90th anniversary poll, but they've turned a blind eye to it until they actually got their hands on some data. I'd say a part of the revitalized interest in bringing back LOTR is in part due to Amazon's new series sparking interest in the brand in the public eye. I think it's obvious that there has always been a fairly robust demand for LOTR theme and they have been turning a blind eye regardless. Better sales of LOTR Brickheadz only really reinforces the idea that there is a higher demand for that LOTR Brickheadz. I'd say it's the same for how they rolled out Lego Dimensions. It's not like we're getting LOTR themed Brickheadz and Rivendell set because 'Lego saw how well the LOTR Dimensions characters sold'.
