  1. I have the Witch's Magic Manor. I hate the design with a passion. I think if Fright Knights were to be remade, I would want a complete revamp of the theme in the vein of Lion's Knight Castle being a spiritual remake. To me, Monster Fighter's Vampyre Castle is the ideal Gothic style castle. Hidden Side's Mystery Castle is a close second. I think these would fit better for Fright Knights than the original run. The Fright Knight CMF fits really well with the style and color themes of these castles. All we really need are some updated banners and emblems using the new Fright Knight logo designs (which I think is far better than the original, just needs to use the brighter red). Also seeing the mocs above, I really love the brick built dragons there! But looking closely, I haven't seen some of those parts in those colors. Is it even buildable?
  2. The price point seems pretty good for this. Not much of a vikings fan, but I might even consider this set down the line.
  3. I've never been a fan of the microfigures. If they made them in the style of their Game pieces (Heroica), I would be all over it. Black Falcon and Forestman Game Microfigures? I'd buy em by the dozen.
  4. I do wish the LKC ramp was more built like the one from Eldorado Fortress. There isn't really any room for minis, and the SNOT techniques look nice, but aren't really built for mini display. I will probably do a modification on mine eventually
  5. Good to see at least some news here for the MMV. I'm wondering if the rumored Majisto GWP would be brought back to coincide with the release of this, much like how Forestmans Hideout got a second release for LKC.
  6. Mantis mount would remind me of the Golden Axe arcade game too. These insects are giants compared to minifigure scale though.
  7. You know me all too well....
  8. There's still a chance a second wave of GWP could hit the window of release for the Medieval Market. I still find it risky, and i'll probably snag a copy before hand.
  9. If that happens I expect entire series boxes to be sold out and hard to find/get, considering how rabid the Castle fanbase can get.
  10. I think the Creator 3-in-1's should count toward it too, since they had actual Black Falcons and Pirates in the respective sets.
  11. Is it just me or are they increasing the prices slightly each time? I swear the Black Falcon torsos and legs were cheaper, and so were some swords. Also I really don't like how they shift some items to bestseller at seemingly random. It really messes with my order planning.
  12. These are pretty darn amazing! Quick question, did you have to use any custom parts, or all of these using everything from 10305? Also how many parts leftover. I may consider doing this with my unopened box one day
  13. Quite hyped. But really wonder what the threshold is, and what I'm gonna buy... I have a $90 purchase ready and waiting from pickabrick, and waiting on the Build a Mini to stock up with new summer pieces. Does anyone know if Online and Instore purchases can be mixed for a higher total? Like if I go to a store to place my online order?
  14. They allow mix and match of accessories at this location. I didn't even have to ask specifically, they outright told me either 3 minifigures, or 15 accessories of choice. Which is both a blessing and a curse, since it means they can run out of stock in one fell swoop.
  15. Welp, got my second chance at getting the Wizard dude at least. Will be good to replace that way-too-generic LKC excuse for Majisto. I kinda like the Unicorn head. Not sure if I would use it for minifigures, but it might useful to have. And if the LK Shield is part of BAM, would that be cheaper per-part than buying em off PAB? -Edit- Just checked in with my local store, looks like this will be the cheapest way to get those shields. Currently $1.45 CAD per shield Build a Mini is $0.86 CAD per shield! (15 pc for $13 CAD) Now the problem is finding stock, cuz I know my local store will be swamped by the AFOLs.... I couldn't even get my hands on a silver falcon chainmail torso the first time around.
  16. I'll confirm firsthand that Lego provides official 'thumbnails' of their products, which can be blurry as heck when enlarged. I worked on the Ninjago TV series a few years back, and for new products that hadn't been announced or shown publicly, the only reference images we got were incredibly tiny thumbnails. Luckily the TV show monster and mech models don't have to look 1:1 to the products so our studio had creative control over the designs in the show,l. It was hard trying to discern any details to match the product at all, and we relied more on concept artist reinterpretations. I get Lego wants to keep their products secret and prevent big leaks, and it was an interesting process working around what little they provided. Ninjago was their own IP, so it was more flexible with TV show designs. I heard other shows based on IPs (Jurassic World, Batman, etc) had stricter guidelines to follow.
  17. Yeah I have to say I really like how these aren't just 1:1 remakes of old sets, there's plenty enough new to be compliments to the originals. Even though I don't own MMV or MVR, I'm happy enough that this new market village is similar enough to capture the spirit, and still work perfectly next to new sets like LKC and the Forest Hideout.
  18. Depends on what Lego has in stock. PAB is great for grabbing stuff they have in stock, but they cycle through a lot of pieces and parts, and only keep whatever colors that are in current production in existing sets. For example, earlier in January I added Brown and Black hoods to my order. As of today, the Brown Hoods were removed from my order completely. Not sold out, completely gone from the list. The Brown Hoods would have been tied to an existing set that may have gone into retirement. So if I want to get any more Brown Hoods, I would have to look into the aftermarket (Bricklink), or else wait until Lego decides to put them back into production in some new sets.
  19. Wait, was swapping really a thing? I've only recently got back into Lego (within the last 4 years) and Lego store policies are still quite new to me. Just looking for some context when they did this.
  20. I realized early on the issue was that each box only contains 3 of every figure, so the chances of getting them from any open box is quite low. They're super easy to feel for, so that leaves the rest of the figures behind. And stores aren't going to open a new box if they have plenty left to sell. I lucked out by going to a Bookstore chain that had 3 boxes behind the counter. I went during a weekday morning and lucked out that the cashier let me feel em out. Got my 3 falconers and 1 orc out of that. I'd like to have more Orcs but I feel guilty every time I go hunting for em, knowing how limited they are. I really have a love-hate relationship with the CMF system, because it's a great way to introduce old classics and unique minifigures, but absolutely terrible and limited for army-building. Even today, I can't get my hands on a Tournament Knight due to the high after-market costs from all the army-building. I had the chance, but Covid was just starting and I didn't think it was worth the risk at the time and thought I could just get a cheap figure on Bricklink. Little did I know... IMO, there's no reason not to. It was an official survey regarding pricing. They had official concepts (that look like they were actually built). That's quite a big step into development and marketing to get this far. If it doesn't happen, I would think it'd be a decision at the marketting or exec level; like them delaying/cancelling the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom sets when we know they existed (but not yet in production). Otherwise, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't make the Medieval Village set; the LKC and Forest Hideout sets already proved the popularity of Castle sets. I know of a few shops that open all the boxes and sell them individually for a slight markup ($1 more). I think that would be the best alternative for me (other than entering another Dark Age.)
  21. It's going to be incredibly bittersweet if they move in this direction. On the one hand, it's been great getting CMF versions of classics, like the Knight of the Yellow Castle or the Falconer and Orc. But that also makes them in high demand, and even with the easy-feel capes, it was hard hunting down any available Falconers or Orcs. The move towards blind-boxes will be a bane to my existence.
  22. Very awesome builds! I may consider doing something like this with my second castle set. I'm a big fan of mini set builds like this, I think the variety is great! Just noticed the tensegrity build for Majisto's hut. +10pts!
  23. Prince John's cape/cloak and torso would be great for a King too. His legs are passable if you have him mounted in a horse
  24. That would be quite awesome, actually. I wouldn't mind giving some of those under utilized factions some love. For a 'smaller' set like this, I would be totally down with expanding on those factions if they make new torsos to support them. I say a small peasant farm set with a few Wolfpack thrown in would be great. I'm still interested in how an updated Wolfpack torso would look. I think some leather-dressed torsos with a small Wolfpack emblem, like the CMF Rogue's buckle, would be the best way to represent them.
  25. I wonder what the liscence for LOTR entails for Lego. Are they able to tap into the novels directly, or are they only limited to what we've seen in films? Would be cool if they could make characters like Tom Bombadil or Glorfindel officially.
