  1. Clever project, I haven't tried out the site, but it looks very useful. It would be especially useful for older parts which aren't easily recognisable and for differentiating versions and variants of licensed figures. How well does it perform with older, potentially weathered or damaged pieces?
  2. Thank you both, the angled stripes were mainly added because I couldn't find the grey panel piece I needed to complete the side, I am happy with the end result though. Thank you
  3. On the twelfth day of Christmas my family bought for me: two Millenium Falcon microfighters (ha ha, two MF MFs, or since there’s two that’s an MF MF MF MF) two trouble on tatooines a razor crest and a scout trooper helmet
  4. That techniqe you use for the flowers is brilliant, and teh complexity creates a great end result. The smaller white flowers are great too.
  5. Thank you, I actually did notice the worn bricks, and while I never purposefully intended to use them, I didn't mind as they did give the rustic vibe. Thank you, while it is a rare sort of car, I am planning a sort of mail centre on my layout, and will integrate this into the build Thank you Thank you
  6. I think it was GreekBricks, who first rumoured the Jabbas Boba Fetts Palace and some of the other earlier sets, none of the other reliable leakers, and none of the major leakers at all, have said it
  7. Hi all, this is the first part of my work in progress train layout that I have shared, and my first - publicly shared - train MOC which can run on an actual layout. It is a very basic little goods van (boxcar) which is used by the mail authority. It is not based on any design I am aware of, but takes inspiration from some real goods vans and guards vans. This is an image of the build on a part of one of my layout modules. I would've preferred to have built a van with bogies, which is the more common of an already increasingly rare form rolling stock, and while I have some plans to build such items I am content with this design for the time being. I hope to share more of my actual layout over the coming weeks. Thanks for looking.
  8. Brilliant work, the layout will look epic when finally complete (thought it is already phenomenal). The amount of effort already invested is great, and I am enjoying the regular updates.
  9. I think the issue is often Google, which will mostly direct links to the correct site but often makes mistakes, it’s an easy fix so I don’t mind
  10. I have the same issue, often it reverts to the US site and I am often left thinking, geez that’s cheap!
  11. I agree, since it can be taken apart it is a non issue,
  12. Great work, I really like the background, especially the window and I like the squid cannister a lot.
  13. I really like the CorSec officer, he reminds me of a Blackadder-esque British officer: Alright-y lads we're going o'er the top!
  14. Very nice build, I also think the trees are genius, and the AT AT and platform are both very nice as well
  15. Altogether it doesn't seem coincidental. The theory this was meant to be a GWP does make sense.
  16. Thank you, I haven't created individual storylines yet, perhaps I'll create some later today and add them to the post Thank you.
  17. There have been some issues lately, for example a Ninjago temple set shown as a modular and the ATST as a CMF, but it is certainly an unfortunately mistake for this set
  18. OK, its official. TLG has lost the plot in my opinion. I've only just noticed that the high speed train is listed as a creator expert set. Originally I had no issue with the set as AFOLs clearly aren't the target audience, but now I know it is marketed as an expert set (https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/creator-expert) I see where people are coming from.
  19. It looks great in my opinion, but $319.99? Seems very expensive when compared to the ($20 cheaper) police station with only a hundred or so less pieces, especially when other countries have not had a price rise.
  20. He posted his ‘opinions’, so it isn’t necessarily a definite leak, especially since it is a long way from the release date. It could signify that he knows something and there is a good probability that since it is likely at AOTC set it is an ATTE. But put simply there isn’t any actual rumour yet.
  21. $529 is a lot, assuming it is an MBS. That is the Australian price so I didn’t notice the increase at first. I am unsure what it could be but it could be whittled down to a few choices assuming it is the next MBS set, which isn’t a given. Good to see a lot more sets in this wave
  22. Anyone else noticed this strange SW CMF? https://www.lego.com/en-au/themes/minifigures
  23. This could be a good sign though. Trains are always bigger sets of which a good proportion recently are AFOL focused. While this set, which unless TLG has lost the plot, is squarely focused on children. Hopefully it shows that TLG believes a wider market for modern and realistic train sets does exist outside of the niche AFOL market.
  24. For point 4, one of Newton's laws is that an object would remain in motion unless acted upon by another force. There is no drag, friction or gravity in space, so assuming that the bombs were pushed out of the bomb bay by some unseen but likely existing mechanism, rather than freefalling, they would remain on the downward trajectory constantly. I am no astrophysicist so I may be wrong though. For the rest I completely agree. One nitpick I have is that starfighters bank when turning. Banking is due to gravity which doesn't exist in space, also there should be no noise. And if they can build a planet sized space station, why on earth haven't they invented the guided missile? Though considering the main storyline is a about space wizards who can practice telekinesis and fly around a galaxy faster than the speed of light and destroy a planet sized battle station which can destroy another planet, aided by aliens, and ghosts and talking robots and fight against other space wizards with laser swords who can conduct electricity and they all fly around in spaceships and floating vehicles, I feel that these are the least of our worries. One of the keys to enjoying star wars though is that it forces the audience to accept some unrealistic principles, which once they are moved past, the rest is rather enjoyable, provided the limits are not pushed to far, which the sequels did in a way.
  25. While I agree some of the police/fire sets are pretty 4+ish, the rest of the wave isn't half bad. The Nasa Launch site rocket is very nicely designed. The launch tower is by far the most deatiled and realistic and the SNOt construction on the rocket and realistic colours are brilliant. As always the great vehicles theme is still realistic, the horse transporter especially. It is arguably better than the 2009 version. The park set and my city sets (lifeguard tower and school) are nothing special but I don't see any decrease in quality. While the hospital is basic it doesn't have any of the ridiculous functions of the police/fire sets so I don't mind and it seems well designed overall. The fire sets especially are easily modifiable (just get rid of the strange water shooters) and the rest of the models are OK. And there are parts of the other sets with AFOL appeal, like the ice cream van which is relatively normal on the exterior. I actually like that there seems to be some separation. Police and fire is very KFOL aimed, while the rest of the theme, while kid focused, is still quite suitable (with modification) for AFOL buyers.
