Without risking veering off topic, it's the SPHAT, self propelled heavy artillery transport. Probably the worst walker name they have come up with. -

It also appeared in Greivous starfighter too, so the same print is standardised across every clone -
Not directly relevant, but the new city fire brigade set has a shipping container piece with a new double door piece which looks much nicer and more realistic than the open-sided ones in the 2018 cargo train. Could be a good sign for the next cargo train set.

I love the new space station launch centre, in my opinion its the best so far and I am glad to see they have returned to realism after the last space launch site sets I really like the new rescue helicopter. It and the hospital are must buys for me. The lifeguard station is nice, great to see the dual moulded short legs. The ice cream crooks are odd, but the shooting function can be covered over and otherwise its a nice set. Absolutely love the sardine factory set. The shipping container is great, the building (minus the 4+ flames) looks great. I was concerned last year that city is heading on a downward spiral, but while the police sets are bad the rest of teh wave has blown it out of the water. 60343 doesn't appear to be there either, hopefully it'll be up soon. -

These new figure packs look alright. I assume they'll be $20 here. Another month, another new completely unnecessary hoth rebel trooper torso print. That's what, the fourth or fifth new print (including the concurrent variations for officers) in five or so years? The head pieces are good though and the P Tower is nice. I am glad that they included better quality builds than most BPs. The clone BP is nice, to be honest I am disappointed that there are no Rex or Cody figures, but since that was never promised by TLG I cannot blame them, and the figures here are alright. The build isn't as good as the 2013 battle pack version but is nice. -
Earlier today I used the word junior-ised (without hyphen) in a reply to a post in the town forum and it autocorrected to tiresome argument, I know EB has some autocorrect features for expletives and such, but was wondering if this was intentional or an issue with my computer software, since it does not recognise junior-ised as a word. As a test <insert that tiresome argument>

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion

While it does look friends-ish, I feel this is more coincidence with the friends colours actually being closer to realism, with those colour more common on European ambulances. And if we need to sacrifice an ambulance for finally a new paramedic torso I am happy to accept that. I also don't collect space but it is certainly a nice build. The school set is decent but doesn't seem to be anything extraordinary though it seems to be the smallest set with the 6-wide door. -

Same, the truck, especially the car is very nice, the station just seems very junior ised Just noticed the moon base, very nicely designed, not my thing but a good set. PS: why is it when I write junior-ised it autocorrected to ‘tiresome argument’ -

The hospital being 99 euros makes me expect a price of $160 here, so not too bad -

The hospital is brilliant, the new paramedic prints, while hard to see are very nice and I like the ambulance colour scheme. While the hospital is alright there seem to be great figures so I’m sold. That police station though: the term clone brand springs to mind. It’s. . . Ghastly -

Wise leakers ascend to the mountain of knowledge and consult the Oracle of the Brick, for he the wise one who can see the future of the system of play, and impart his foresight of the next set release. . . that is all you need to know. In seriousness, some is just detective work, for example, some set releases can be predicted as Lego will release instructions prematurely, like the recent Microfighter Razor Crest. Often set numbers can be obtained from this method or similarly. I think there are factory leaks, where staff will send out information they come across, and often sets that are sent out to the Lego Ambassador Network for review are leaked early. And as @Mandalorianknight said, it is likely TLG aren't exactly oblivious to the leaking. -
Couldn't agree more. What seems strange to me is the 7+ age recommendation, seems awfully high for such a small and seemingly simple set. Hopefully its a sign of better things to come, and its a train at least. Lego don't seem to care too much about whether things are common or not these days, so hopefully features like domes or sleepers do appear on the next trains. Anything to make the next passenger train look a bit different besides a new colour would be appreciated. A toilet would be great, the recent passenger airplane had one so hopefully this is an indicator for its inclusion in a train. I wouldn't mind even if it took up too great a section of the train as it could probably be modified.

I am not sure, but I think the Death Star may have included the old stormtrooper helmet while the new on entered production, as I am not aware of a rerelease or anything of the like. -
In my first post I said: I am not referring to just this set, but the probability that this could arise again in circumstances where it is less desirable.

Of course it is no big issue, but it is an issue, I am not buying this set anytime soon, if ever, so it doesn't matter to me much, but it costs almost AU$1300 here so I can see why some are upset. As I also stated, in the context of this set this is a minor problem, the issue I stated is that if this is going to be a recurring thing, it could be a problem, the whole idea of Lego is that it can be taken apart and rebuilt. This part of a set cannot be taken apart without use of a knife or another tool or great difficulty otherwise, this is not a big deal, but if it is intentional and it ends up in a playset or another non-18+ set it could be very disappointing. That is a good solution. Though people do have a right to complain as it is a premium product and if you finish building the set before realising the issue and the solution, it could be quite frustrating. Of course it is a trivial matter in the grand scheme of things, but people will always complain and it seems very strange for TLG to have let this slip through the net on a flagship product..
-
I think it is actually a very big problem because it completely destroys the whole concept of Lego itself. In this set it is only a minor, (and easily fixable) problem, but if this is actually sanctioned by TLG and not just a mistake, it could be quite a problem. Of course it can be taken apart and it is only a handful pieces in a massive set, but the whole idea of Lego is that it can be taken apart and built into something new, which with this building style is impossible without great effort. It would doubtlessly cause some controversy because it strikes at the heart of what Lego is meant to be. I agree waiting a few weeks to see if there is a solution is a good idea, for a smaller set it would be an overreaction but for a AU$1300 one I can see why many would want it to be the best building experience possible.

[MOC] The Daily Press - Alternate build for 10278 Police Station
Stuartn replied to Versteinert's topic in LEGO Town
Incredibly well done, being able to create such a great model out of the one set is genius, especially one of this quality. You couldn't tell it was from the same set if not for the figures. -
I strongly agree with the city house and friends school. My best picks would be anything in this list: http://thebrickblogger.com/2021/06/second-look-at-the-lego-townhouse-pet-shop-cafe/: 31105 31097 31026 31065 31306 31050

Great reference graph, interesting to see the progression in torso design. The same print is now used across all three though. It is used in three sets: Greivous starfighter (P2) Gunship (P1) and 501st (animated), though the graph does demonstrate the downsides of the approach. -
To thread or not to thread?
Stuartn replied to Generaltrons bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A sort of purist technique is to use a throwaway part, like the centre part on flowers, the sprue between HP wands or the rods between train tracks, and heating it over a flame, it becomes malleable and can be stretched into a long string, which can be stuck to other parts. Nice bow designs by the way. -
Likewise I try to avoid the sci-fi pieces as my interest is in city or otherwise useful elements like dual moulds . Giving complete ambiguity could damage the great thing with CMFs which is that different interests are al represented and each person can select what they want. Of course some surprise is fun, and trying to guess what figure is included is a great part of the experience, and it would also negate the surprise when the mini figure you were sure you had turns out to be something different. Using a box would be equally disruptive to all, and with them costing $6 here now I don’t want to end up with multiple of figures I don’t want either. Alternatively I could invest in an X-ray machine. . .

The Han Solos are very expensive too, since with the face removed it is just a generic figure, same goes for Beckett to a lesser extent -
SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
Stuartn replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think the bomber was designed very well, unique and distinctive but still fitting with SW, it was just utilised in a way which portrayed it as rather slow and cumbersome, the design shouldn't be brought down by the film.
