  1. Darth Jar Jar! Meesa want to see m ore Darth Jar Jar. Incredible build, I love the creek design and the clone painting, very nicely done. The composition of the build is great and even with the non-plain background the scene feels very airy and light (edit: that is a compliment, re-reading my message it might not come across that way, but it is certainly a compliment), despite the great detail which is very well achieved.
  2. Incredible work, I've enjoyed following the WIP topic, and this model turned out extraordinarily well.
  3. Looks great, the interior detail is fantastic and I like the functionality of the wings; my only suggestion is could you use the new 2x6 tiles on the cockpit door rather than the 2x4 and 2x2 tiles? Does the landing gear retract, regardless the detail in the landing gear is great.
  4. While it would be a great set, and a good opportunity to use the probe droid again, and I would love a new kx droid, I feel that may be a bit too dark for LEGO to do, especially as a play set, we can only hope though, and the scene enhances our chances of a new TIE bomber.
  5. This is Lego we are talking about. . . we will have to tie together 4 string pieces to make up the full cable. In seriousness though, perhaps a new string piece will be introduced, as it would be impossible to expect any builder to be able to tie together all the necessary cables at the exact lengths. You would need at least a 1.7-1.8m string as well for the lifting cables, for the height that the model has, plus ends for tying.
  6. It would certainly be feasible, and probably quite simple to do.
  7. It is used by CHC helicopters, who provide military SAR services for the Australian army and RAAF, though not using this helicopter. If the PLA variant emerges, that could be way more problematic than even the solely military Osprey helicopter.
  8. I don't think we can judge whether it was a success yet, as it hasn't even been out one month, many playsets are released after Christmas and there are always birthdays coming up. When parents who contrast a US$20 train against the last one which was over $100, there could be a lot of appeal, especially as they are probably unaware it can't run on track. I do agree though it probably won't be a smash-hit success though. Those are nice dioramas by the way.
  9. The majority I get are video game ads, and since I don’t own any or play any online, I am unsure why that is, and I have also had women’s clothing and firearm accessory ads (I don’t want any since I don’t have firearms to accessorise, I don’t want a gun and I live in Australia anyway). i don’t mind to much as they are always at the bottom of the page and I can just not scroll down.
  10. For me there are two perspectives: 1. EB has a lot of members, so if there was a like button I am sure it would be used. As someone who regularly posts MOCs I could appreciate a like button, especially as with smaller MOCs I wouldn’t necessarily expect comments though it would be good to see if others like what I have made. In addition, many other great but more obscure MOCs others completed (especially in the days of the scale modelling forum) would go unnoticed, despite massive efforts by builders. 2. On the other hand, you could see many MOCs that would otherwise get attention and constructive discussion passed over with comments usurped by just liking a post. EB is different from others places in terms of the posting features and that is what differentiates it from IG and Reddit. Furthermore, other social media sites are now hiding likes, such as IG and YT (for dislikes), so introducing such a feature could send EB backwards rather than forwards.
  11. Nice colour scheme and good details, clever use of the modified Mos Eisley bar technique
  12. The adds on Eurobricks often rather weird, and some I would rather not see, I think there is a google algorithm (which obviously doesn’t work well) so I don’t think EB can control it, though I am not sure, but at least unlike Brickset the adds here aren’t too invasive or annoying, as for me they are normally constrained to the bottom of each page.
  13. I am actually not disappointed it’s a 4+ set, as it may mean the greenhouse is one moulded piece, which could look quite nice, and a chance for some printed parts
  14. Clever use of the road plate, and nice design of the red crate
  15. Nice work, great details all around, and the techniques for the doors and windows are especially nice. Do the buildings have interiors, as I noticed the lines of tiles were I assume the floors separate?
  16. Thank you, I am also enjoying creating the story, I haven’t done so to this extent before, but it is great to include in builds
  17. Thank you, I see what you mean about adding some clutter to the alley, and I appreciate the advice on weathering with the grilles, hopefully I'll be able to use that advice as I am likely to use the technique again
  18. *Your entry has scored 10XP* Previously Part 6 As Sio Antilles and his newfound ardennian friend approached the safe house, the tension could be felt in the air, it felt as if something wasn't right. So when they found the body of the guard lying at the door of the house, it come not as a surprise, but the inevitable realisation that the worst had occurred. 'They might not have gotten inside', said Sio, but never the optimist, he knew they would have. Dank farrik!! At this point, they heard the tell-tale clunking of stormtrooper boots surround them, coming from the opposite building, and the laneways. Sio moved in front of the door, and had his blaster pistol aimed at the nearest trooper, but it would be useless. At this point, two unusual figures came to the front of the ravenous crowd of stormtroopers, an Imperial agent, and in front of him, a young Togruta, who didn't seem happy to be there. The ardennian looked at his feet in dismay. Sio knew that this was the child. "Good afternoon gentlemen", said the agent, "looking for someone". He smiled, something Sio thought must have been an achievement for the sour-faced Gungan-brained Imp. "We'll be off now, I thought it would be considered polite to stay around and say good-bye". He looked at the stormtroopers and gave them a nod. The CorSec agent and his ardennian companion braced for the barrage of blaster-fire, and winced as they heard the lasers fire. Then. . . nothing. Stormtroopers couldn't be that bad shots. He looked around and saw the Imperial troops lying around them. Then Sio looked up, and saw the old Lieutenant General Senesca above him, flanked by four CorSec soldiers wielding blasters. But there was a problem, the arrogant Imperial agent had left with the kid. The search had started once again. Thank you for viewing, comments and feedback are welcome, though I am happy with how this build has turned out, and am glad to have been able to finish another larger build.
  19. *Your entry has scored 4XP* Previously: Part 5 'Director Antilles, do you copy . . . this is CorSec despatch. Informing you that we've lost Colonel Merrik at the rendevous point. The local security guys say it was a group of Imps, they shot up an old refueler too. Anyway, we've sent your backup on a bit of a detour to secure the area, so your gonna have to do your own investigation now, over 'n' out'. That was the transmission that Sio Antilles received as he sat at the Nubian conveyex station, waiting for his passenger service between the spaceport and his location. Merrik was supposed to get in contact with the local authorities and make this whole waste of time a bit easier: you can't trust the army intelligence bunch to decipher the alphabet written in plain aurebesh - the transport ride to Nubia, despite the nice starship, was hardly comfortable, and Antilles' opinions of the mission had soured accordingly. As he looked up, he saw an old ardennian staring at him. How long had he been there for? "You've come for the child?" the ardennian asked? Sio was perplexed. How would he know that? Who was this bloke anyway? "What makes you think that?" was the best reply he could give. "I have a way of guessing some things. Many people have come for the kid, many have failed. Some meet an unfortunate end, others give up. What makes you think you will succeed?" This man was really starting to get on Sio's nerves. "I have orders", he said through gritted teeth. At this moment he noticed the man sitting beside him held a rifle across his lap. Then it dawned upon him, maybe this ardennian knew about the child and could take him to him. It seemed they were concerned over it's welfare. He could be back on Corellia come afternoon. "Who are you people, you know where the kid is?". "The dawn of the Empire was very cruel", continued the ardennian (here we go, a whole life story, I'm not exactly a big Empire fanboy either, thought Antilles), "many of us who had a purpose were persecuted because of it, now, we have found someone to protect, a new purpose, and we won't let anyone hurt us - or it". The man sitting beside Sio raised his rifle, while the Corellian himself clutched his blaster pistol underneath his jacket. "You realise that the Empire is here". To this, the ardennian looked attentively, and the man lowered his rifle. "We must get the kid offworld, he will be safer on Corellia". The ardennian nodded, though Sio new he was still unconvinced, but at least was willing to give him a go. "Alright, said the yet unnamed ardennian, I will take you where you want to go". Thank you for viewing this build, the next build will be a bit more substantial, as this was built mainly to quickly bridge a story gap. Comments and feedback welcome as always though. 20. I agree, unless it is not an MBS set after all, there are not really many places that could justify such a high cost, in addition 530 is also the Australian price, so there are multiple opportunities there for a mistake to somehow occur.
  21. https://www.lego.com/en-au/service/buildinginstructions/8043 This should help, I am not sure about the abttery type as from my understanding they only ever had the AA/AAA battery boxes, but I would assume these instructions cover the AA battery version
  22. Nice work, I like the walker and the pilot design, and nice speeder bike
