  1. I completely agree! Not only do we get a ship, we get harbor space and a bench with a small building, a nice face that feels fleshed out and lived in. This is actually my favorite reveal of all the recent Lego leaks across all themes. This harbor set is gearing up to be one of my favorite 2024 City sets. A bit late to the party as I bought this set a while ago and only just built it as it was on my backlog of sets to get around to. But I finally built the 60321 Fire Brigade and I love it. The Sardine Factory feels easy to modify and I can easily see myself removing the flames and giving it an interior, and removing the rebuild and keep out signs and replacing them with "regular" bricks, unprinted and all. The base plate for the street takes up some room but it's easily removable. But despite the customizability it's just gorgeous. The Hazmat figure is my favorite, never got the Series 4 Hazmat guy but this will do for now. Also the kitten mold is just adorable.
  2. Finally some content!! Adore this new Mr Freeze he alone carries the entire wave. I was worried they'd reuse Mysterio's headpiece inaccurately, the choice to produce this new mould is amazing and even has the possibility to be carried into other themes, namely the CMF line. I appreciate being able to get Harley in a cheaper set, but wish she was replaced by someone else, likely Poison Ivy. Or better yet, it would have been nice to get 1-2 more figures in that set. Ideally, it would have been Batman, Tim Drake (or Dick Grayson, love both of their animated designs), Harley, Ivy, and Mr Freeze. Honestly this set just has me in the mood for more animated content. Hope they keep producing sets for this show down the line. And I hate to say it but the buildable Batman and Batpod are incredible and I want it. Would have been better to get more figure scaled playlets, but can't be too mad at what we're getting. It's better than what we usually get, but the bar is very, very, very low. Lol.
  3. I kind of just wish they got Rogue correct the first time around. I wish this theme was treated how Star Wars is treated. Bo Katan got leg and arm printing, but a new hair mould. Fennec Shen got arm printing plus a new helmet mould. Bib Fortuna also got a new head tail mould plus leg printing. I wish we just got at least a new hair mould for Rogue if they were going to cheap out on the dual moulding. She looks so awkward from the side. We know we're going to get Wolverine for sure. I'd put money down that Cyclops and Magneto are also going to show up. If Beast or Rogue show up, we will have at least half of the characters be variants or repeats of existing figures. Nothing is certain yet, but it's looking very likely that we won't get as many new characters as we'd desire. If they just produced Magneto and Rogue correctly the first time around we wouldn't need to have this conversation. like what's up with Magneto? The light shade of purple/pink plus the long hair really feminizes Magneto. I understand the grandma Magneto jokes completely lol. Dual molded arms would have been great, I agree he needs the Luke hair in white, but honestly the color of his fit is the biggest atrocity in his production. They got him all the way wrong. Honestly the more time passes the more annoyed I am with how poorly executed the figures in that X-Jet are. I just hope the figures and build are half decent. I'm not really expecting it to be amazing. Just decent enough. I will say, the exclusion of certain characters may not be too bad if they produce more sets in the coming years, which feels probable. We'll see.
  4. Well we got sets for Ultimate Spiderman in 2013 (Daily Bugle with Nova), 2014 (Spidercopter with Powerman and Ultimate Green Goblin), 2015 (Ultimate Rhino and Sandman construction set), and 2016 (Doc Ock vs White Tiger set). I can't think of any other animated Series for Marvel or DC that got sets 4 years in a row, but that's some sort of precedence if you're looking for it. I really hope Rogue is exclusive to the X-Jet. 10 figures is not a lot and I would hate to have more than half the figures be duplicates. I really just want Jean grey to finally be produced and find it kind of annoying that we're still looking at the prospect of that not happening. Kind of hoping Bishop is also produced, but he has short hair in the new cartoon and honestly was hoping we'd get the CMF Wrestler mullet in black. I'm really just hoping they don't cheap out on leg and arm printing. This theme should really start giving characters the attention to detail they deserve. That also kind of annoys me.
  5. The baby gorilla is adorable and its ability to sit on the mother Gorilla is just genius. Red Panda is cute, and niche. The recolor for the Alligator is really exciting for me as well. It's a bit more practical and realistic than the Hulkl Green we've gotten in the past. This feels more real. Plus I'm a fan of earthy tones, and soft greens in particular. Hope the sets are great but will probably just order the moulds on pick a brick if I don't enjoy the sets they come in. Can't wait to see the sets revealed.
  6. I realize now this theme reminds me so much of Sharkboy and Lava girl. I once said the Nightmare Ship and Dream Village were the only sets worth picking up in this theme. I will now be adding the Witch's Raven to this lineup. The dual molded Raven looks incredible. Can't wait to see a more realistic color scheme for that mould pop up in City or the CMF line. Not a huge fan of the color scheme for the Witch herself, kind of wish she had more neutral earthy tones to fit the forest vibe of Baba Yaga. Having said that, they can always produce Baba as a CMF. Plus the black and pink color scheme looks majestic on all the evil variants of the protagonists. I do feel the legs on the hut are a little skinny and awkward, but so was I growing up, haha. This set is gorgeous. The red Dino feels like an easy pass, but the evil variants do standout. Hoping they pop up on pick a brick because I don't really want to buy this set. As for the blob mech, I am so over mechs so I'm definitely going to pass. That said, it does look pretty cool. Not a bad wave but like most other Dreamzz waves, I'm only really interested in 1 set.
  7. The Banana car is cute but feels like an easy skip. I'm conflicted on the house. On the one hand, it looks great from the front. From the back, it looks very crammed. Wish Gru was moulded akin to Dr Eggman from Sonic, with skinny legs and a wider upper torso, and specialized head mould. That would have been perfect. This Gru variant looks awkward. I'm gonna hold off on this house in case we get a larger, possibly modular version in the future. Gru's home has been a staple in the franchise, so maybe I should hold off should Lego produce a "definitive" version moving forward. As for the party bus, its cute, its fun, its got a great selection of minions, and it's 40 bucks! It's the only set I am definitely going to buy. Don't mind the price but also wouldn't mind a sale lol.
  8. I feel like I’m going crazy. I know it’s just a kids toy but woww this is so annoying. Over sized vehicles with 1-3 figures is the norm yet it never fails to disappoint me when it’s announced/confirmed! This theme is so terrible I’m beyond disappointed. My goodness this is so bad lol.
  9. Hope they can use the Lego Batman Movie armor/helmet mould(s) for Mr. Freeze. I think that 2017 piece works best. I hate when they use Mysterios head piece in clear for Freeze. it looks way too tight like it's suffocating him and provides an awkward silhouette. I actually think the piece they used for Sandy Cheeks should be given a try because its larger and would give the figure more room to breath, so to speak. Maybe Sandy's helmet would have the reverse effect and be too large. Either way I'm very curious to see how he turns out. Also hoping Harley has a different expression, like a malicious laugh/snark.
  10. Ah I see, my initial wording felt definite and factual rather than opinionated which can be off putting. I realize what I really want is more Action Themes to choose from, or maybe I just want Ninjago to get over this villain faction lol.
  11. Thanks! I agree, Time Cruisers/Adventurers has so much potential because there are so many species and settings beyond Dinosaurs and the Jurassic era in history to explore. Plus, ancient civilizations can be fleshed out and explored in new ways we haven't seen before too. The Mayans, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, so much history from both Humans and animals to explore. Lots of untapped potential imo.
  12. Thanks for confirming! I agree the band makes more sense for the palace rather than the sail barge. Still, I hope to see the band fleshed out more in coming years. I already have Salacious Crumb from the 2012 Palace, so I'm curious to see if they reuse that or produce a new mould. Also interesting to see Jabba may be a new mould, interested to see how that plays out.
  13. So this theme was around for the last Despicable Me movie, and was brought back for this new one. Maybe I am asking for too much but I wish they had just invested in a new mould for Gru. Maybe not a big fig, but think a mid sized fig like Hagrid. This figure simply does not capture the essence of Gru, and given how they keep brining this theme back (okay brought back once but still..) I think it would have been worth investing in a new mould. They could even make the most of said mould by releasing Legacy sets of the older movies and throw Gru in some of those to profit off said mould. The house looks cute and currently unsure if I really want it. This theme is not great or terrible for me so far, kind of middle of the pack. Somewhat meh. Maybe on a discount I wouldn't mind scooping this up. The house that is. That buildable Gru set is um... how do you say, creepy? Lol.
  14. So I'm confused, was the rumored figure list for Jabba's Sail Barge legit or no? I saw only one Instagram page post the rumored figure list and it was on April Fools. I'd love to get a new Leia and Salacious Crumb, but honestly haven't seen that rumor corroborated elsewhere. Can anyone confirm if that list is legitimate? If so, kind of a snooze we're not getting more of Max Rebos band, but given they mostly need new moulds it's somewhat understandable. Lyn Me would have been easy to do, and I love getting new Twi'leks for my collection. Still waiting on Sy Snootles to be made someday, but maybe that's just me.
  15. I love the discourse regarding Adventurers here. Does anyone watch Lindsay Nikole on Youtube? She explores animal and plant species in different eras of Earth History. I understand we have a fascination with the Jurassic period. But there are such cool plants and animals from the Silurian, Devonian, and Carboniferous periods. From giant trees, to giant dragon flies, I feel there is so much content begging to be made as sets. I would appreciate adventurers come back, and wouldn't mind if it eventually somehow replaced the Jurassic world theme. But if Jurassic World is here to stay, we could always focus on other life forms and plant forms from other periods for Johnny Thunder and other heroes to explore. That would be fun.
  16. So I actually include Dragons Rising in this. The printing on the villains is very busy and besides the 2 new protagonists I just have not been a fan of the new villain tribes. The new character designs feel really busy and ugly imo. So not an April fools joke, as unfortunate as that may sound. I disagree that retiring a theme is the worst you can do. Agents got retired and essentially brought back by Ultra Agents. We had Ninja in the 90's and Ninjago revived the essence of that in 2011. Batman and Spiderman were retired in the early 2000's just to be brought back via Superheroes in 2012. So from my point of view, a retirement is not inherently permanent and can definitely be viewed as temporary. I was being serious but let me elaborate some more. Currently, Ninjago, Monkie Kid, and Dreamz are Lego's unlicensed Action Themes. I view the character designs in Dreamzz to be... mostly ugly. I think the blue, green, and grey of the main guy, with the purple and orange of the main girl to be ugly clashing colors. I have not enjoyed the builds besides the Nightmare Ship. Monkie Kid had a glorious first few years but at this point I find the builds to be repetitive and feel its past its peak. I view Ninjago (current) as having the same busy and clashing character designs of Dreamz, with the redundant builds of Monkie Kid. It combines the two worst aspects of their other non Licensed IP's. It may be harsh but I am simply unsatisfied with the current options for non Licensed sets. I'm simply unsatisfied with the theme, and felt its run its course. That said, I can admit I was being a bit dramatic and intense with my criticism. in hindsight, I realize I want more unlicensed options and knowing Lego doesn't want too many on at the same time, I recommended we retire this theme to make room for another IP. When in reality, the company can always just add more unlicensed themes like they used to. This theme cohabitated with Alien Conquest, Ultra Agents, Chima, and Hidden Side (all amazing btw). So maybe what I really want is another unlicensed Action Theme to occupy my interest now that its faded with this theme. And finally, if I really had to retire one theme, I should have chosen Dreamz. I adored basically every other year of Ninjago except for the last 2 so I will show this theme some grace. But besides the Dream Village, Nightmare Ship, and MAYYBEEE the Sandmans Tower.... I have been very disappointed with the builds and especially the figure designs for that IP.
  17. Not to be a Debbie downer but I'm kind of counting down the days we retire this theme. The last 3 or so waves have been quite lackluster for me, and I feel like this theme has run its course. The newer designs and builds don't resonate with me, and I was unsatisfied with the crystalized wave of sets in particular. From what I hear, the show itself was not particularly well received either. I adore Ninjago and enjoyed its run, but I'm honestly ready for another Action Theme to take its place.
  18. I'm torn. The 2011 version of the Sith Infiltrator has a superior figure selection with Padme and Captain Panaka. Heck even the 2015 version has Watto and R2, plus Maul has his cape in both those versions. The small figure selection plus the lack of details on Maul make this new version seem so weak. Plus the images of it make it look blockier than the 2015 version. I feel the special edition figure is the only thing drawing me into this set. Saw looks amazing but he's the only thing bringing me into this set. Also i need to see the backside of these figures to make my mind up. If they all have that ugly 25 anniversary printing on their back I'm completely skipping them. I will say, Malak and Fives look incredible and I kind of want to scoop them up. I can easily skip young Leia, pink droid and unsure of Cal at the moment. But Fives and Malak look so good. But then I look at the sets they come in.... I have almost never liked over scaled sets, with few exceptions. It's the same reason the large over sized Bat vehicles in DC do nothing for me, I prefer my builds at figure scale. So a buildable R2 does nothing for me. Similarly, I plan on buying the recently retired Tantive IV some day, so no need for a diorama of the boarding scene. Both builds feel unnecessary to add to my collection. Not really worth buying those sets for just the figures. just putting out there that the buildable Hedwig and upcoming buildable Disney Simba (based off of its initial leak) are some of the only over scaled display builds I have enjoyed enough to buy/consider buying. So yeah. And finally as for the pod race display set, I'm so annoyed by it. 2011's Anakin and Sebulbas pods remain the best builds we have ever received for that scene. I'm kind of annoyed Lego isn't looking to reproduce that anytime soon. Even more annoying is we haven't gotten any of the other racers since 1999/2000!! Like, Anakin and Sebulba weren't even the only ones in that race, and it seems the company may never produce a figure scaled pod for Gasgano and that's a shame because I love filling my Star Wars universe with supporting characters. I mean the original pod race set had three pods and a small viewing area representing the stands for the civilians (Padme and Child Luke)!! So when i see this micro build display I kind of just role my eyes because I've seen them do better............. 23 years ago.
  19. I think I'm the only one who enjoys this set? Maybe i agree the build itself was kind of boring, but Joy looks amazing! Anxiety also looks perfect? Like both characters are so good. Also the build is kind of cute. If they couldn't produce all the characters, making art like images of them on the side of these cubes works well to depict them and keep their spirit alive while reducing the cost of new moulds. I actually can't wait to pick this one up, especially knowing it'll probably go on clearance since no one seems to want it. Also I agree those City Gorillas were practically made for Tarzan.
  20. I hate the buildable Bat vehicles. Very few figures, out of scale, and usually in reference to vehicles we’ve already gotten at a figures scale. I agree it’s very probably that the set will be an oversized vehicle. Still, I have hope they may choose to surprise us, especially if they did rush to produce a large set, maybe it was to address customer concerns about the theme? Probably not, but it’d be nice if this set came out of left field, and gave us several new characters, and an exciting build at their scale. We’ll see.
  21. Wow 10 figures is kind of whack. Hopefully they skip Storm and Rogue to make room for new characters. I hate the fact that we still have no Jean Grey and part of me wonders if she'll come here. I don't understand why the company has shied away from such a popular character. Not only is she my favorite X-Men, but she doesn't really need leg printing. Maybe arm printing, but I'd be fine if they skipped that. I love Jean Grey and I find it frustrating that they keep avoiding her. Here's who I expect to see: Wolverine Magneto Mr Sinister Beast in lab coat Jubilee Cyclops Jean Grey Bishop Jean Grey Morph Writing that list out, I start to understand the frustration for how small this list is. I wish we had more villains than just 2, which makes it hard to even write a hypothetical figure list. Feels like they half a** every X-Men product they make (1 new character in the jet, no dual molding or proper hair mould for Rogue, lack of leg detailing on Cyclops, constant reuse of Wolverine, small character roster on the Mansion). :/
  22. I guess you're right, but still, would have been nice! So many characters and designs from that show are exciting and easy to pull off for a company that hates arm and leg printing lol. But I guess it is right to accept that this opportunity has passed. Also, is there any truth behind this rumor for a large DC set coming later this year? I heard it mentioned in this thread some pages back but haven't heard of this otherwise. If this is true, it would be fun to get another DC set but wish it was more affordable. Instead of 2 late sets I would have enjoyed a handful of 30-50 dollar sets. Still, it's nice to get just about anything from this theme. Feels like every other year they're on the brink of ending the license. On that note, isn't it weird how they retired "Lego DC" just to have a Lego Batman line, but they kept the DC tag under themes alive? like there's a Batman tag under the themes page on their website, but also the DC tag is still there? I assume its because of that Wonder Woman key chain, it's the only remnant of the old DC line still up. Maybe when that key chain retires, the DC tag will be scrapped? I wonder if there's any hope for the original DC logo to be brought back. Edit: Not really relevant since its unlikely to happen but the main hero from Dreamz has a hairpiece which I think would work well for a comic based Aqualad or even Static Shock. Okay final edit, but I think the issue with these Batman cowls is the fact that they keep being produced as individual pieces separate from the cape. I think I realize now that the bug eyes look really large but the gap between the bottom of the cowl, Batman's neck, and the cape, help accentuate the large eyes of the cowl. I believe the Batman 80 figure was the only one to have the cape and cowl molded as one piece (rubbery plastic) and I think this produces the best Batman figures. Even if not in the exact styling of the Michael Keaton Batman, I think future Batman figures should be inspired by his figure and have the cowl and cape be one piece. That gap on the neck seems to be a huge factor in the awkward factor for this figure.
  23. Haha this gorilla mould is amazing! Lego has outdone themselves. Red Panda looks amazing, the Crocodile (?) is in it's most realistic color scheme, the Tiger looks stunning and the Gorillais so realistic, yet its baby is adorable and with that same sense of believability. it's just such a strong lineup of molds. So impressed and very excited for this wave! Looking back, I'm glad I didn't enjoy their current Space sub-theme, because I'm definitely going to be spending some money on this upcoming Summer wave.
  24. Having seen the Dungeons and Dragons collectible mini figure leak, I agree that the Eagle man has wings picture perfect for Angel. In general, I felt this mould was a long time coming. We have the fixed spread open wings from the Pharaoh's Quest theme, but those look awkward after a while. The molded folded wings used on the Golden Winged Eagle from Monkie Kid is also very neat. But it feels refreshing to have this beautiful pose of the wings flapping mid air. It looks so regal and majestic and is by far my favorite wing mould the company has produced. On that note, I would also appreciate getting all of those wings in red for Falcon as well. So, the 2014 variant of the figure has the Pharaoh's Quest wings. Meaning all we need is for Lego to produce the Monkie Kid and Duneons & Dragons wings in red for me to photograph Falcon with those. Come to think of it, so many characters could make great use of this piece. Angel, Falcon, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Dawnstar among others. Very exciting mould if you ask me (nobody asked :p).
  25. Not to be annoying but I finally discovered the name of "Superboys trike" is formally, the sphere, or the super-cycle. So yeah, my ideal wave would be: $100-120 Bio-Ship Attack $70-80 Black Manta's Ship $50 Super-Cycle $30-35 Batplane $20 Training Room it's a shame they didn't capitalize off of Young Justice when it aired. Artemis, Superboy, Miss, Martian, heck most of the cast would not need new moulds or even leg printing. Come to think of it, Bumblebee, Klarion, and Bart Allen/Wally West (who could share a mould for goggles/hair) would be the only ones to introduce new moulds. I would have loved a wave focused on this show.
