  1. Currently watching Young Justice and can't help but feel we were robbed of sets! The character selection is so intriguing and the animation is well done, would have loved to have gotten sets for this show. There are some prominent vehicles and characters in the first two seasons which I think would make amazing content. Plus very few characters would need new moulds. The bio ship, Black Manta's Ship, and Superboys Trike he got from the New Gods are all very heavily utilized and would make exciting sets. Young Justice is so good, kind of a shame they ignored it.
  2. I agree the wings are perfect for Angel, they're perfect in general I must add. I didn't feel particular about the energy blasts, they don't seem any more accurate than the previously produced energy blast pieces.
  3. And honestly that's still being modest! Classic variants feel necessary but there have been so many else world stories, alt universes and comic reboots that we have quite a few variants for quite a few characters to cover. I'm gonna be honest, I am really surprised we've never gotten a specially molded classic Thor Helmet, a comic accurate MK1 Iron Man, or a red (not orange) haired Black Widow. Which is kind of frustrating for me. With few new movies coming out, it would have been a great opportunity to give us some comic content. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Infinity War Legacy sets should focus on movies we haven't covered. Captain America: First Avenger, Thor the Dark World, or scenes/characters we have not yet covered. Black Widow in Iron Man 2 for example, would be fun to get. But a diorama of a scene that had no impact on the MCU at large, was basically a filler scene in its own movie, with no new figures such as the upcoming AoU set? That feels like such a waste of a slot. Not too mad at the Milano since it might to be a bigger scale, but the OG was fine imo and the Benatar did not do much with its price point due to the allotted build for the stand, it didn't feel like impressive. So while the Milano has hope, with the OG having 4 seats, I wonder if they'll pull off any noticeable improvements... Which leads me to think maybe the release of the Milano is not necessarily to produce the set at a better scale, rather as a display set for those who missed out. I wouldn't enjoy that, seeing as it would feel to me like a robbery of a more exciting concept. Over at Star Wars, we've only gotten 1 SINGLE Queen Amidala figure EVER. We haven't had a Gungan Sub since 2011. We've not seen the Bounty Hunter chase from Episode 2 since literally 2002. And Slave Leia is likely never going to be produced again. There's this sense over at Star Wars that if you snooze, you lose. New content keeps coming and we understand that certain characters/sets may never be revisited, and the timeline for when they are can be dramatic to say the least. Maybe it doesn't have to be that drastic here at Marvel, but I can't help but feel like its too soon to be revisiting older material we already produced, in place of new content. This is, at the very least, how I feel. I wouldn't mind skipping legacy MCU sets for a year if it meant getting a comic Ant Man, Wasp, Vision, Scarlet Witch etc. Just me? Side note: if Groot is brick built AND fits inside the Milano...... that would be so cool.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if only 1 company could hold the building block license for Pokemon at once, irregardless of its scale. That said, does anyone here enjoy or collect the mega bloks sets? I think they look neat but I have always been interested in how Lego would handle the license.
  5. The possibilities would be endless. The quality of the builds would be much more impressive as well. Still, there's a charm and nostalgia to the older Spongebob sets that I doubt anything could replace.
  6. For some reason I swore he was part of the Great Lakes Avengers, or Avengers West Coast. Interesting. Either way, there's still a lot to pull from for inspiration for sets so the idea that this theme is "running out of ideas" is still silly. Arm Fall Off Boy may not be from Marvel, but Marvel still has lots of interesting designs to produced. I'd enjoy getting classic Vision for example.
  7. Yeah, now I'm hooked and want to know more about the situation. I'm actually of the opinion that Spongebob is a theme worth revisiting. I actually wouldn't mind a Fairly Odd Parents set or two. it's a shame they're supposedly unlikely to be produced. In other news, Lego NEEDS to produce Pokemon. With Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Mario being existing or upcoming IP's Lego is working with, it feels natural that Pokemon would be the next theme to be produced. What's tricky is that the theme would need an exorbitant amount of new moulds. From the smaller pokemon, to head moulds for larger Pokemon who could possibly have parts of them to be brick built, to hair moulds for the characters, there's going to have to be a lot of new Pieces introduced for this theme. It's certainly an obstacle that could be overcome, seeing how much budget Pokemon and Lego has to contribute. Pokemon may be one of if not the best brand selling merchandise, which means they should in theory be able to contribute budget to new moulds. I speculate they wouldn't do so, but a man can dream.
  8. Which is hilarious because there's still so much for this theme to explore. I fear sounding redundant so I won't pester too much about this, but it can't help but feel obvious to pull from more comic sources for content. I understand the need to address the 4+ audience but I wish we had 1-2 sets max per wave or year for those, to allot more space for other media. Namely, I want Squirrel Girl and Arm Fall Off Boy. But I'm sure there's other obscure characters like the Fantastic Four, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Antman/The Wasp who could use a comic variant or two
  9. I agree I'd like to see Black Adam, Mad Hatter and King Shark, but my point at large is that this theme would do good with an exciting poly bag. Martian Manhunter, Plastic Man, and Trickster were all super exciting. Whether it's through a new book, movie or video game, I'd like to see Lego release a promotional figure that is not a Batman variant. Of course I'd still like to see sets with new designs, but something affordable and attainable that adds depth to our DC collection is a current craving I have from this theme. But to be honest they do so little with this theme, there's all sorts of wants I have lol. But for once I have something to be excited about! This Gotham Skyline is incredible!! I was certainly not expecting to enjoy this set as much as I am. Thought it would be an easy pass actually. But no, this is stellar. Firstly, it's actually super practical. It's interesting because it is and is not mini figure scale, depending on your perspective. Of course up close it'd be considered micro scale, but when displaying the figures at a reasonable distance in front of the mural, it actually makes sense? it's a city back drop, so it actually does serve a purpose for figures by being, well a back drop! The details are exciting and dare I say cute? And who thought Catwoman would excite me this much? Such an exciting and necessary addition to the Selina Kyle variant library. What's interesting about Harley is I would look at her old figure and feel like something was a bit off, and its striking to now realize that her head should never have been completely white. The red and black on her head do wonders for accuracy. She looks really good. Also, just a personal opinion but this is THE best Joker figure we have ever gotten. Lego has given so many characters both in and out of this theme quite cartoonishly kind and happy, that it's refreshing to see a figure have that genuine sense of creepiness, eeriness, malicious demeanor this figure has. He is so accurate and really pulls me into memories of the animated series. He looks just as creepy and evil as a Joker figure should. His color scheme is also refreshingly pastel and softer than traditional Joker figures. I almost feel like I'd get this set just for him, but I know that's not true since its a very well rounded set. I'll shut up now but I'll finish by saying Batman is funny in that he is the ugliest figure of this set, he looks cartoonish but not in a way that's accurate to the show lol. His printing Is quite nice but yeah, I hate this cowl mould. Maybe it'll grow on me.
  10. So while I do agree that, to portray him accurately he should have dual molding, I was speaking in a more practical sense, Lego loves to cheap out on Superhero printing. Jessica Drew, Hal Jordan, and John Stewart all need dual molding but didn't even get side leg printing. I was alluding to the sentiment that if he was hypothetically released, I understand he too would be produced in such a manner. As for his film appearance, now that you mention it, this would make him an unlikely candidate for a polybag release anytime soon. Still, I stand by the general sentiment that throwing us a polybag to keep us excited should be something the company considers. If not him, are there any characters you'd like to see produced that could do without excessive moulding or printing (ala Martian Manhunter, Plastic Man, Clark Kent, and Trickster, the latter 2 appearing in DVD releases)?
  11. 76291 has got to be one of the most disappointing rumors since “the X-Jet has the same roster as the 2014 set”. Luckily that was wrong and we ended up getting Rogue (a hideous version of her but whatever). So maybe this will be wrong? I mean no new characters is kind of lame. Especially given how they didn’t particularly stand out on their own. Iron Man still needs arm printing and Cap needs dual molded legs and possibly leg printing if you want to be generous. If these figures add those details maybe it might be worth looking at but practically speaking they won’t. Hopefully they do release a second wave with sets focusing on the second half of the movie. With Quicksilver, Ultron and Vision being the most desirable figures from that movie it seems silly to not produce the scenes they were in. It’s also kind of silly to divide a 2015 movie into 2 waves given how much comic and also even MCU content we have yet to cover, and that same movie had 6 sets accompanying it during its initial release to begin with. Kind of wish we could really focus on new territory and only give a few legacy sets per movie instead of focusing on older movies we already paid attention to. When revisiting these films we should get a set or two not 2 waves, imo. Thats assuming they do a hypothetical second wave. Its just as disappointing if they only do one wave and get it this wrong lol.
  12. Haha nothing wrong with a little crossover. I actually wouldn’t mind a House of Mouse set so I can justify crossing over all my various Disney figures in a more formal setting.
  13. Honestly just throw us a polybag. Do you guys remember when the New 52 Martian Manhunter was a GWP in 2013? I remember being so excited for future releases and they never really did anything like that again. I think we did get Plastic Man but that was coinciding with the release of Lego Batman 2. If there is indeed another Lego Batman game, I need the promotional figure to be anything but Batman. Someone who needs no new moulds but is exciting enough to generate buzz. My first thoughts are Red Tornado or Guy Gardner. Both Leaguers who could use leg printing but don’t need dual molding, similar to Martian Manhunter and Plastic Man.
  14. So wanted to confirm the leak was true and my local Lego store did have those new BAM figures! I got 2 of those white tussled hair pieces, one for my spare 90s Storm, and the other for my 2014 Storm figure. I've been wanting to give her this hair piece for the longest time. While there I also snagged a reddish brown version of Cyclops hair. I find it interesting that Lego currently has Cyclops hair in a more accurate reddish brown color, along with the tussled white hair in white, which is accurate for a comics 90's Storm, available for sale as BAM pieces. It's not explicitly stated but I feel like they released these simultaneously so fans can modify their X-Men figures. Call me crazy but I truly believe that BAM Clown girl was released shortly after Marvel CMF Series 2 for this very reason!! Okay maybe that does sound crazy, but at the very least its super convenient, which is really nice doncha think?
  15. Gotta say I kind of want them to make a Lego Batwing figure. Far fetched seeing as they still got wayyyyy more ground to cover than just him. The weird thing with Batman is we never got a figure of him with boots that have the Bat shape on the top. I get that its not the most used design currently, but Batman has had these boots often, I'd like to get them seeing as we don't frequently get Bats with leg printing. I wonder if we'll ever get a second CMF for this Series seeing how things are going so downhill not just for DC but Warner Bros at large. Probably not, which sucks. There's just so many characters I wish we could have gotten. Big fig comics Bane, Scarface and Ventriloquist, Mad Hatter, Clayface figure, Cassandra Cain, Batwing, Lucius Fox, Spoiler. And then the figures from the DC Universe at large like Zatanna, Fire, Ice, Booster Gold, Ted Kord, Vixen, Star Sapphire, Tempest, Speedy, Mongul, Metallo, Mirror Master, etc. I'd absolutely love for this theme to have a random renaissance because we just have so much ground to cover. I hope somehow it can happen.
  16. WOAH upon further inspection it really does look like the Evil Queen is on the right hand side of the reveal image. The figure selection is impressive! From what I've seen of the back side it is open ended which is not a huge deal but I suppose it would be slightly better if it had that fully enclosed doll house appeal, I still can't be too mad since the overall finished product was so well produced. Still, I must say I wish we had more animals in the set. Namely, the deer and the tortoise. It kind of made me realize we don't have deer or tortoise moulds in Lego. I hope one day soon enough they get produced. Also chipmunks! Sure we have squirrels but looking at reference images of Snow White it seems is was actually chipmunks that accompanied the rabbit, deer, birds and tortoise to save the princess. So yeah, the animals included are nice but some of the more prominent animals are missing and when they eventually get produced I hope we get like a little expansion pack. Snow White, and some animals would make a great small set, or GWP. On another note, I was looking at Goofy reference images to see where the design from the Train Staton came about and while it does seem there have been a few instances of Goofy wearing a yellow vest in animation, he seems to predominantly wear the yellow vest in theme parks... Similarly, the black vet he sports is one of his most common animated attires, and we currently only have this black vest Goofy design available in the form of a key chain. That inspires 2 thoughts for me, firstly, that the black vested Goofy design is a shoe in for Lego Disney CMF Series 4, and also that the Lego Disney Train Station is not only inspired by the theme parks in its source material, but in the figures themselves. My conspiracy is that this is canonically a Lego figure of a person in a Goofy suit... not a "Goofy" character. Hilarious as that seems I have the same view of Mickie and Minnie! The figures of Mickey and Minnie which came in the first Disney Castle, in my eyes, were lego versions of people in Mickey and Minnie costumes. Seeing as those were literal theme park costumes. And on a final note I gotta be honest and say that while I'm fine with these dwarves for now, the only one I'm really happy with is Dopey. This may be an unpopular opinion but I'd like for the Dwarves to be reinterpreted with specialized head molds in future CMF series. I feel the same way about Captain Hook. Side note, I feel both Captain Hook and Pinocchio should have had specialized head molds. not just the hair/hat combos they were given. Seeing those figures I think, if you were gonna make a new mould for the hair/hat, just include his face and head as an all encompassing piece so he can truly reflect his animated appearance. My Simpsons figures look identical to their reference images, but the Disney figures look like awkward compromises between the source material and Lego. Some pull it off well, like Hercules, Jack, Sally, and Pocahontas. But others, like Captain Hook, Pinocchio and the Dwarves do not pull me into the source material the way my Simpsons figures are super reminiscent of their cartoon. So yeah, hopefully those get reimagined.
  17. This is kind of a dated comment to make but I finally built the Ideas Sonic set. The brick built Dr Eggman does a wonderful job of merging the Lego aesthetic with the pixelated blockiness of the original game. The hands are surprisingly near identical to their appearance in the original Sonic game. I must have not seen reviews of this set as I was surprised to discover the instruction booklet was so captivating. Looks like a retro game cover/gaming manual. The set is amazing in that it's highly detailed but also compact so its easy to store. Overall so excited about this set an it got me really excited about the theme as a whole. As a huge Nintendo fan its about time we got Lego Nintendo content. This, paired with the Mario theme and the upcoming Zelda set give me hope we may one day actually get Lego Pokemon sets. that's for another thread but I can't emphasize enough how impactful the collaboration between Nintendo and Lego is. Felt like a long time coming but yeah really exciting. As for future releases, I'm glad we have a Lego version of team Sonic. I have to check if we've ever gotten E-123 Omega but I don't believe we have? So he's definitely due so we can complete team Team Dark. As for Team Rose, I'd love to have the original 4 but the one I'm most excited to see produced is Big the Cat because I love his design and think he'd make a cool big fig.
  18. Still, dual molded legs would be a major win for Mr. Freeze. His announcement was the best part of this leaked wave. I may go as far as to say it was the only piece of leaked info that piqued my interest. The bar is underground.
  19. I definitely feel the Malibu Mansion is iconic enough to be produced, having been heavily featured in the Iron Man trilogy, but also being a compelling design. Let’s not forget how popular Tony is, he’s my personal favorite MCU hero and that is something MANY fans agree with. Like Tony is everybody’s favorite. Well mostly I think…. Anyways even if not for the films, fans of doll like houses, architecture and those trying to build a California skyline would also find interest in a modular Malibu Mansion, I reason. Lots of appeal there. Along with Asgard, this feels like the most obvious choice and is one of my most desired D2C’s. As for the Avengers HQ, I hope they finally produce Elsa’s hair in red for Black Widow. I want to finally get that design in Lego. I’m not crazy about this set for whatever reason but I think thats cause I did not enjoy the Endgame figures at large so far.
  20. Yeah leadership at DC is horrendous. It’s whats holding the brand back as a whole. With the upcoming Batmobile, there’s hope Mr Freeze and Harley can be exciting if depicted accurately with leg and arm detailing as necessitated by source material. Truth be told they will probably be mediocre with no leg print for anyone. It’d be nice but as always its irresponsible to be optimistic about this theme. Haha still I try.
  21. Oy vey, so much hype for the set prices just for the set list to be so mediocre. I'll say I adore the current buildable Batman figure on shelves and I plan to bag it but if the leaked images of the buildable Batman and Batpod can match or supersede this current design, I may just hold out on that purchase. That said these set builds are so repetitive with the constant Bat vehicles and good lord they won't be generous with figures. I would be a bit more excited if they include 5-7 figures instead of 2-3. I am skeptical that Freeze or Harley will be spectacular enough variants to sway me but we'll see.
  22. According to Lego_bam on Instagram, the tousled hair piece in white is set to appear in BAM settings soon. Namely, for a girl clown figure. Previously this piece was only available in the Ghostbusters Firehouse set for the library ghost. Luckily that ghost has an alternate hair piece so many people, as I intended, may have used the spare tousled hair for Storm. I believe this may have been available on PAB during the time the GB Firehouse was being produced. If this piece is indeed returning, that would be stellar. I need this hair for my OG Storm figure but also for my spare CMF fig, where I intend to display 1 CMF figure as is and the other without the shoulder pads and with the tousled hair instead (to be accurate to the 90's cartoon). In general I find that quite a few nice BAM figures have been released in the past few years and I should probably take advantage of that. But yeah the return of this piece is great for X-Men fans. Edit: I believe it's piece 20595 on Bricklink.
  23. oh god not another Batmobile! If they choose that concept I would be so disappointed. I really want to see new or rarely used material. Maybe another bank heist, jokercopter, Scarecrow plane, or something like Ace Chemicals, an Ice Cream Lab Hideout, Gotham Fairgrounds, Ivy's pink car from BTAS, etc. If we do get a Batmobile they definitely need to include more than 2 figures. I want Batgirl with dual molded legs and leg printing!! Like seriously I want a Barbara Gordon Batgirl that is complete. We haven't got Lucius Fox, Batwing, Spoiler or Cassandra Cain so we still have supporting cast to receive. We've also never got Green Ivy, or comic big fig Bane. So variants of existing figures..... but then we still have Professor Pig (unlikely I know), Hush, Black Mask, Mad Hatter, and Scarface as well! So between variants of the Batfamily, his rogue gallery, and all new never produced supporting cast, heroes and villains, I think it's ridiculous we've only gotten a few figures in sets of the past few years. I hope we get some pleasant surprises. I really do.
  24. Not terribly surprised a lot of this themes sets are retiring in 2024. I was intrigued by the Nightmare Shark Ship and Dream Village, but the theme failed to pull me in at large. I found the builds to be in cohesive and all over the place with their color scheme. I enjoyed the dark grey and black look of Monster Figures. The tan and beige aesthetic to Pharaoh's Quest was nice as well. But the protagonists of this theme are distracting and tacky with their decor. The heroes have green blue and red outfits, or purple hair with colorful fits. And the sets juggle teals, pinks, blacks and yellows, its just too much imo. The Nightmare cats and dream figures are interesting concepts, so is the Sandman and Nightmare villain. But besides that I find this theme has little to offer and it's kind of all over the place with its design influences and color scheme. Still, I think that Shark Ship is epic so even if this theme flopped they got 1 thing really right.
  25. I can't help but be very excited for a rumored $70 and $60 set. We haven't really gotten those price points in recent years. With the Batmobile and Batwing still being on shelves I hope we see some new material for the $40 set as well. I can't help but be a bit pessimistic as well, seeing as the company has been notorious for not exploring new concepts for sets, not exploring new characters, heck not even trying new variants of the few characters they juggle. Still, there is hope maybe they have taken in some of the feedback? Who knows. I personally want to see a new big fig Bane. TLBM version of Bane is not quite comic accurate since it has the Nolanverse coat. So I'd like to see a figure for the comic fans like me where that ugly coat is not present lol. Poison ivy gets drawn a million different ways these days definitely wouldn't hurt to see which of those many source images the company would choose to pull from. Never got Harleys Hyenas which would be a convenient mould to bleed into City Safari sets... so while they may not use ALL of this themes unused potential, we have 3 decent sized sets coming that may make meaningful contributions.
