  1. Forgive me I’ve been out of the loop is he a credible leaker? Otherwise I wouldn’t look too into that. Maybe he is I genuinely haven’t kept up with leaks that closely recently. I had to google this and I think you’re correct. He did have a pointy ears and green pants cut off halfway in his debut! I haven’t seen the Disney plus special yet but if that image is correct then he had blue slacks in the movie? I haven’t seen it in black and white yet can anyone confirm whether he had shorts or pants in the movie? Because if he indeed had blue slacks and never got them cut off halfway, and if those slacks don’t end up being green AND torn in half…. Then yes this figure is comic accurate! I’m gonna be honest when I say that makes me like him more lol. Also Mr Knight is comic accurate but not because he’s based off the comics but because the MCU design for Mr Knight is 1:1 with the source material. I would not personally consider the Moon Knight we got as comic accurate however he is definitely an MCU fig.
  2. So basically 4 unknown DC sets coming out? Sigh. I want so many new variants along with new characters altogether this is the slightest sliver of hope we’ve had for years in this theme and I’m just praying they make the most of it.
  3. In the initial leak I keep referring to the lowest level had that misplaced grey color scheme right before the actual tan on the building began and this rocky grey color appears to be right above figure head height when placed behind the X Men and what I’m trying to say is it looks like they intend to have a very short lowest level that hovers right above the heads of mini figures which ill be a rocky grey almost sediment looking layer to the outside world but then on the inside if my intuition is correct should be the Hangar area. Makes the most sense to me. That said this level is very low so I imagine they would elevate it a bit to store the Jet. Least they should. but thats my problem with the Mansion leak. When I first saw the leaks I mistook and believed Rivendell was part of the survey but supposedly it was a separate leak meaning none of the survey sets have been officially revealed or released yet for us to compare how accurate the leaks were to the final product. In other words we have no point of reference for how much this could change but given the near release date I’m genuinely a bit concerned because while the Simba leak was incredible and looked like such an official build, the Mansion (which I otherwise wanted to be so excited about) needs so much work in terms figure selection, design, and architecture design. It just was the roughest leak for me personally but then again I adore the X Men. And speaking of mansions I’ll make a separate post later in the appropriate thread but I really hope we get a MCU Iron Man modular Malibu mansion with an interior Iron Man armory and a fully enclosed and accurate silhouette someday. We got the Sanctum Sanctorum, Avengers mansion and X Mansion soon so hopefully we can add Starks Malibu mansion to that someday as well. I say that after realizing I should have got the 2013 version of the set cause that was one of the best Iron Man sets we ever got.
  4. I agree that the leak seemed to take inspiration from multiple sources and this is a point of contention for me. I feel like instead of getting a half baked Fox/half baked cartoon mansion, I’d find it more satisfying to just focus on one source material (namely the 97 cartoon) and focus on getting that right instead of scrambling to cram different X-Men media in this. I also understand your point about the repeat figures opening up budget for other new designs but keep in mind the initial leak had only the following characters; Professer X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Storm, Emma Frost, Magneto, Sabertooth, Mystique. I would appreciate the repeat figures opening up space for orher characters if they end up actually being included. So naturally I hope the roster expands because as it stand Professor X would be the only new character for the heroes (Emma Frost being an anti hero makes her flexible in terms of where you place her I personally count her with the villains). So yeah hopefully they end up actually adding more people and fixing that hideous roof design lmao. Also recently ordered and built the retiring Iron Man armory which I got for 27% off. Wish it was a full 30 percent to be honest lol I cannot believe they had the audacity to charge $100 for this initially. Amazing set with amazing figures but incredibly inflated which seems to be the consensus for this set. The quintessential Iron Man 2 set all we need now is Whiplash in his prison pants and shirtless Nascar face off design and another set with Natasha vs a few of those Hammer droids. War Machine is precious he’s one of my favorite figures at the moment. Also in love with the new helmet mould it is much better in person. Might end up picking up that Iron Man 1 Hammer mech set because of how much I loved this armory. So good. Needed a better discount lol kind of regretting jumping on that purchase should have checked a local Ross for a better deal lol
  5. I've been so busy irl it feels like ages since I've commented here. I have so much to say hope I can keep this concise. OH MY GOODNESS LEGO X MEN ARE BACK!! Yes the all caps is mildly embarrassing but you know what I'm genuinely excited about it. The inclusion of 3 X Men in the cmf is refreshing but also the rumors of both a X Jet and X Mansion? I have to say I'm ecstatic for their return but more specific thoughts below. I feel that for $70 the X Jet should have brought more than 4 figures. We got 4 for $40 so for nearly double the price of our first X Jet I was hoping we would get more figures I mean at least 1 more but I'm kind of let down by that. I'm personally hoping/betting on Magneto vs Cyclops, Jean Grey and Gambit. None would need new moulds which is a plus. X Mansion - I am kind of worried about this one. When all those Lego leaks happened recently quite a few came true. We got Rivendell just as it appeared in those initial leaks. I remember thinking the buildable Simba looked so official and we ended up getting an announcement for both it and the buildable Donald Duck that were part of those initial leaks. So back to the X-Mansion, the reason I am worried is because all the leaks have been super accurate so far and that leaked X-Mansion was a huge let down and needed quite a bit of revisioning. And by that I mean a complete redesign. To be specific ; The gate was a shallow and dull build, plus the grey and black color scheme did not match the beige tan of the actual mansion Grey studs exposed at the front facing side of the mansion and studs exposed on the roof, needed some sort of creative architecture I mean its a mansion or crying out loud. Cyclops is in his 90's gear which is perfect but Mystique is in her nude Fox fit. Why? No she should have her white dress and now that I think about it this is the most likely placeholder as they would never release a nude figure let alone one that is not in theme with the other figures in her set because as of now she appears to be the only cinematic design included The inclusion of Beast, Storm and Wolverine is both comical and infuriating. I hope this is one of those cases of leaked figures being moved to other media. Beast and Storm being moved to the CMF series and chosen to be replaced by other characters would be a dream come true because I would hate for half of the protagonists to be repeats. That said Beast seems to be in his lab suit so at least it appears there may be. variant for him. I'll say I'm still hoping for a new mould for Storms long white hair and crown. Sabertooths inclusion is exciting I hope he is also comic based with the same fur piece used for Kraven And now to comment on the figs I got. I decided to buy a scale and try that method as I don't want too many repeats as I already have an extra She Hulk and Wolverine. That said my first She Hulk had chipped legs and hips so I chose to keep her spare and I adore this Wolverine design so I'm fine for now but don't want too much excess moving forward. Storm is perfect and so exciting but god I wish I got Beast gotta ensure I buy him soon. if I get an extra I'll recreate the OG 90's Storm everyones been doing with the Ghost Buster Librarians tussled white hair piece Wolverine is amazing and although the yellow on his legs sometimes seep through the blue tights I still adore him Hawkeye is so charming and does a great job of capturing Jeremy Renners likeness She Hulk is one of my favorite Marvel characters for literally no reason lol I never watched her show or read a comic of hers (and I do read comics) I just fell in love with her design as a kid and latched onto it so yeah she's great Werewolf by Night is just so great and you really see the human in him in both the MCU makeup and in the figure. It's the best figure ever produced in terms of capturing that Wolf-Man likeness imo the lighter print to represent his human underside but with the thick brown fur printed over tells a really great story about the character and is a lovely figure to have in person. Ofc we can always get a comic based Werewolf by Night which would be much more wolf like in snout and may even need to use an existing Werewolf head piece or new one, but this Wolf-Man looking figure (which seems to are pretty accurate to the special they did for him on Disney +) has a special place in my heart And I'll cut this short by saying I have recently chosen to try photographing some Lego sets on my own so I chose to photograph different Lego Marvel sets and realized I wanted to photograph phases 1-4 and so on. So naturally I needed something for phase 2 and I'm so excited for the Stark Tower and I can finally have a build to stand in for my phase 2 pictures. I have also decided to buy War on the Water for my phase 4 contribution but you know I'm not huge on the MCU sets so I won't be a completionist and I'm really only looking for a few sets/figures from each Phase to photograph but it's exciting because up until now I've only been working with comic based figures and I feel like I have something else to be excited about. I ended up also ordering the retiring Hall of Armor at 30% off and props to that bc it was not worth 90 bucks but I'm elated to get a Whiplash figure.
  6. I'm glad your order came in great condition! I actually ended up getting them replaced shortly after that initial post and the Lego agent was kind enough to ensure the replacements would be shipped separately. I have already returned the initial damaged boxes (and when I peered into the Police Station in particular I realized it was worse than initially thought as the entire seal of the back of the box was actually peeled open meaning that set itself came way more open that I initially realized and yes it was at the bottom of the box below the Bookshop). And fortunately, the replacement sets came perfectly just as you described! Separately with some slight paper filling. So it ended it working in the end but yeah might end up ordering modulars one at a time moving forward lol
  7. Not a moderator but what does this do for conversation? Seems a bit passive aggressive and contributes nothing to the discussion but create tension. I understand the environmental perspective but package handlers can be very rough, I ultimately wish they had a program where recycled cushioning products could be used. I won’t pretend to understand the logistics of everything at play, just not excited to get a broken, bent, damaged, & scattered set. I work 2 jobs so I really need to find the time to make the call asap.
  8. Not too much about the sets themselves but recently got the Bookshop and Police Station in the mail. No padding or cushioning or bubble wrap or foam in the box and they were both open with bags leaking out, unsealed and damaged when I opened the larger box which had visible denting on it. Obviously the UPS handers were rough with the package but the fact that Lego packed these 2 large sets on top of each other rubbing up against the seal of the box with absolutely no protection certainly contributed to how I got them. I work a lot and have yet to make a claim and unsure if I can go to a Lego store and swap them but I would very much like to as I was very unhappy with the way Lego packaged my order. I order from Bricklink all the time and those vendors have the decency to package my sets with air bubble bags, foam, cushion padding and paper and they always arrive in great quality. I'm not even blaming UPS because there was no attempt on Lego's end to pack it in a way that would have secured them should a rough handler do what ended up being done. I was intending on building those sets at a later date but if I am not approved to swap them I'll have to build soon to ensure no brittle brown pieces or other colors for that matter were broken and need replacing. As I wanna be sure to request replacement parts while they're still being produced. (You never know the part you might need to request may be gone with the set itself when it retires). So either I have to return the damaged boxes or build them in sooner than anticipated which is no fun. An inconvenience either way sorry for the rant. TLDR modular order poorly packaged and came damaged. Inconveniencing me. the end.
  9. Awkward timing maybe but I finished building the Hydro Bounty recently and wanted to post some thoughts. It's been retired if not soon to be gone as this is the time of year the Seabound sets were scheduled to be phased out. So I scooped up this set last minutes and want to share some thoughts about this beauty. The figures are immaculate. All 6 Ninja in scuba gear!?! Plus 2 Wu Droids, 2 antagonists and this feels like the one of the most satisfying figure rosters ever. Not too worried about accuracy to the show, the new (to last year and to me anyways) scuba gear piece is so much fun to interact with. Love that it goes over the hips and under the head piece it feels really well integrated into the existing figure anatomy. The Ninja hood not being molded into the scuba gear was genius so characters can swap between diving while masked or with their hair out. 3 Ninja even came with hair pieces in addition to the hood!! The symmetry of the build is so satisfying. Placing those golden tubes on each side of the body of the submarine was fun. building the ornate side builds are fun. Just be careful with the Dragon/Snake builds on the side they can pop out of place with too much pressure The mech at front integrates well with the ship but also has a great transforming feature its actually very "Transformers" in my mind The interior fits 4 figs and the 2 subs can fit inside the Bounty so all 6 Ninja can ride at the same time and that is so cool to me. The build process was quick! But nothing felt missing or incomplete. Overall a great use of parts and figures and one of the best sets I've made in a while. I loved the Seabound sets Wish I got the Temple last year and waited to get the Water Dragon at a later date, as I bought the Dragon last 2022 thinking it was gonna retire "and if I can get only 1 seaboard set it would be the dragon" not knowing the Temple was a better investment as it ended up being the set that retired late 2022 and the Water Dragon remained available throughout this year. Regrets aside Seabound was amazing and I ended up not being super excited about Crystalized as the sets and figures looked too uniform and uninspired to me. it was funny to see fans had a similar reaction to the Crystalized series which I did not watch. These new Ninjago sets are alright the new baby dragon piece being the most exciting part of the whole ordeal. But yeah Seabound was just so good. I still geek over how awesome the elemental nya figure is. Very Naruto-esque and just so cool.
  10. If the X Men 97 cartoon set to debut sometime next year also retains the blue and yellow costumes (it likely will), I'd personally prefer sets on that show over the Deadpool movie. At least if they made an entire X-men wave I'd prefer it to be based on the show but I do think a single set based off this movie would not hurt. I actually really want an updated Deadpool. Also I have been out of it for sometime so not sure what the consensus has been on the buildable figures. But can I be honest? I'm starting to warm up to them. Captain America is nothing special but I really love the buildable Wolverine and Batman. They do not fit into my current Superheroes display in any way and feel like the most random inclusion to my collection but it's like having a lego action figure? I used to love Action Figures as a kid and I love Lego so idk maybe I will pick Wolverine up. Sometimes Lego does gimmicks that work and sometimes they don't. The current mech and action figure gimmick are cute to me. I would prefer battle packs with multiple figures at a $15 price point but that's more nostalgia Star Wars than anything Superheroes has really ever done. For what we're getting I'm fairly satisfied.
  11. That’s just a difference in taste even if it was for the first few seconds of his introduction in the movie I wish he had the mask but we can agree to disagree on that. as for Electro, in the movie his hair was quite flat and comic electro has a flat green cap on the backside of his bolty mask. The silhouette was flat on the back and electric zaps for a mask at the front for both the cinematic and comic takes of Electro. I wish I knew how to upload the images I’m looking at for reference but I stand by saying with the right creative liberties a mould could have been created to be used for both. With that said has anyone found images of the Spidermen with hair pieces and flesh heads yet?
  12. It reminds me of the Barbie mermaid sets my cousins had growing up. The different colored mermaids with matching hair is so much fun but to save money and due to a general preference for just collecting classic sets and not anything based on the live action stuff I’ll pass. But yeah the figs and build were underrated it was jaded by people’s desire to save money and the general disdain for the live action reboots lol.
  13. Thank you for correcting me. so that means this set had no new moulds… so yes I was wrong about them excluding the manic face for Goblin and Doc Oc just having the smiley face. That said Goblin still needed leg printing and a new mask mould and once again I wouldn’t have been mad at Electro getting one too if only for the possibilities of a zip zappity mask being produced that could later be reused for the classic variant. I especially feel the new mask could have been introduced given there are no other new elements in this set. I mean not that I’ve noticed. Toby McGuire Spiderman looks amazing I’m just shocked I can’t find images of the Spidermen with their supposed flesh heads and hair pieces.
  14. I haven't been in this forum in ages I feel like I'm visiting another country when I come here. Just wanted to drop by and say I have mixed feelings on no exclusive May the 4th figure this year. I LOVED Aunt Beru last year. Adored her inclusion. I was really hoping to get something this year. Sure Darth Raven and the Episode 1 droids from a decade ago were really expensive on the aftermarket and a source of frustration for those who missed out but does that really mean we should get no more exclusive May 4th figures? I guess it's just funny they release these great figures when I can't buy them and when I'm avidly collecting excited for an exclusive to splurge on they don't release one. But hey at least I didn't shell $150 on Star Wars this month (maybe next month lol)
  15. Okay just noticed Doc Oc does have an angry face and Green Goblin has the manic face as well. The creepy smile could have used more wrinkles or a more exaggerated smile but yeah I guess he got it.. Doctor Octopus is somewhat growing on me? But not enough to redeem the set.
  16. I just wrote an entire thesis for Marvel so I'll be short and to the point for DC. 76224 - Tired of the Batmobiles but ecstatic to finally have a dark green version of this hair piece. Makes me want an Arkham Joker and I do love the face print. 76265 - The Batwing is alright but could we have gotten like Vicky Vale? or the floating parade scene with civilians instead of this? Just something to have spiced up either the choice for the build, the figures included, or both. We've gotten Batwings before and every set this wave has Batman and the Joker so what makes me as a consumer want to buy this set? It's got nothing going for it imo. 76264 - It's a 4 plus set and if any set had to just have Batman and the Joker in it, this one would be it. The other 2 sets are larger and have less excuse for their figure selection or repetitive choice of build. But how could you complain that some toddlers or young kids could have an affordable way to get Batman and his arch nemesis? This is not the set to be mad at. But yeah, saving money, we are. Also just want to randomly comment I wish the Scarecrow Tumblr was still on shelves.
  17. You know I was thinking about this the other day. I'm still in the process of collecting sets from my dark ages or that I missed out on as even in 2012 it was hard to pick which sets to collect as money was never endless for me. Pair the sets I collect from the after market with my attempts to keep up with Lego's looming retirement dates for the licensed and non licensed themes I always loved, and you can see how I'm frustrated and worn out with their need to create so many more licenses and waves. Like slow down. I feel like I'm juggling retired and existing sets on shelves and they just keep pumping more out and I feel jaded as a consumer. Because yes I would pay you for a Sonic set, Star Wars sets, Minecraft sets and Harry Potter sets but when multiple waves of expensive sets are being released every few months for all these themes and unlicensed themes with retirement dates as short as 6 months from their release date? (I'm thinking of the City grocery store released summer of last year that retired at the end of the same year, not licensed but still a set that I had no time to collect since there was so much out at the time and I'm using it as an example). So yeah didn't mean to ramble but I wish Lego spread their releases out over the course of time and didn't try and have so much on shelves at once. That said when I'm struggling to catch up on Lego I see it as a blessing when a theme I love gets a terrible wave. I get to focus on my retired set and other themes which feels great. So I for one am so happy the NWH sets are caca. Lol it's just my opinion of course kudos to you if you enjoyed these reveals. But boy did I think they were bad. Yes I'm happy their bad cause I save money, but I'm still going to scrutinize them lol. Here goes; 76261 - Green Goblin should have had the classic mask. Yes it was just for the beginning but I truly wish it was included. More on the choices for new moulds later, but I'll say if there had to buy just 1 new mould in the set I would have given it to his mask. Needed leg printing splotches of purple and green armored scaling. When his goggles were used he should have had a purple hoody and when his face and hair were exposed he should have had the manic joker-esque smile but instead we got a strange cross of his hair out, goggle faced scenes with no leg printing. Bro I just spent a paragraph dissecting how bad Green Goblin alone was. Lol But alas we still need to complain about Doc Oc. All ill say is why is he smiling? I get that Lego is a kids toy but I am so tired of them having every character on earth smile all the time. When I was a kid I got the Series 7 Evil Knight and fell in love instantly. The rabid hate in his eyes made me believe he was an Evil Knight. He looked evil with this piercing red eyes and I felt like my heroic knight needed to take him seriously. I wasn't an adult my whole life so I know that even kids don't want their villains looking dorky and cheesy. I know cause I was that kid who liked my villains to be menacing. The 3 Spidermen are about just fine but if they do indeed have the faces and hair pieces included why did you not include images of that on the box art or in the reveal? The set is otherwise so bad that would have slightly redeemed it. if almost.. Following up on what I said about choices for the new moulds why the heck did you guys give budget for a new giant electric bolt for Electro? like are you serious? I'm actually laughing it was such a comically bad choice to make, at least for me. Electro had an electric bolt of energy covering his face akin to his classic comic mask in the movie. We've all seen it and Lego chose to print that electric "mask" on his face. Sure enough we may not have the budget for a new mould... Except they did? But they chose to give him the new mould to these giant zaps of lightning? Which could have been brick built? Or omitted? And even worse a new mould for his electric mask could have been reused for a comic based Electro if they took some artistic liberties with the mould. But hey we got new oversized lightning pieces yayyy totally wanted that over an Electro or Green Goblin mask. oh I almost forgot how his legs had black armored detailing and hight top brown boots on the beige pants Electro was sporting in the film and they just reuse the standard beige pants with pockets piece for him. No attempt to print on the accessories he was armored with. Once again I wouldn't mind if we didn't have other themes like Ninjago get over stylized prints for all or most villains (seriously what's even going on with the leg printing of the new Ninjago villains? Such busy prints). Meanwhile none of these named figures can get even a splash of detail going. And finally don't care much for the build itself it's very busy and hard to focus on even when the figures aren't on it. Overall there's just so much about this set I do not like. But as an optimist I understand I could use that as an opportunity to collect other sets. Won't even comment on 76266 yet as I have already said too much but yes I will criticize that mess in another comment sometime. Props to whoever read my ramble lol I just couldn't hold it in.
  18. Yeah don't mind me I'm too optimistic for my own good. I'm still holding out hope to get specialized moulds for Harley's hyenas, a few green variants of Ivy, the Mad Hatter and mini figure scaled Clayface so clearly I'm in la la land but hey at least we get new sets for this theme in la la land. Lol.
  19. It's funny, Aurora is starting to grow on me just because her hair mould is so amazing I almost start to forgive her buck teethed expression. No hate to people with buck teeth but it really looks like she's cheesing. It's silly but wow her hair mould is so great it almost makes up for it. I'm gonna be outright and say I'd like Genie and Captain Hook to get specialized head moulds. I'd also love to see Ariel in her pink dress and Mulan in her classic green dress in the future. Also unpopular opinion but that live action based Ariels Castle looks amazing? The orange mermaid in particular is incredible. That said while I think it looks great I won't be buying it lol. But yeah it's a cute set. Also random thought but while I love these princess figures the mini dolls still feel so necessary? Idk if it's the completionist in me wanting both doll and figure variants of the characters, or the purist in me who knows princess's are traditionally released as dolls not action figures so the lego-fiction of this concept feels obvious. You know, the new $150 doll set with Alice, Wendy and Pocahontas is neat in theory, but did anyone else notice how they kind of cartoonified. lot of the face prints in that set? Maybe it's just me but the eyes on a lot of those dolls looks bigger than usual? But the Pocahontas doll is still really gorgeous truly hope she's released in a cheaper set down the line. Even cooler if they pair her with another princess we need more of like Merida.
  20. Obligatory "when will we have green skinned Poison Ivy as a figure?" post. I'm gonna try and keep this short and to the point. the overall scale of this new Batcave is underwhelming as it feels like we've gotten computer space, room for a vehicle and some ladders with every Batcave release ever. If they release a Wayne Manor you could sit on top of this Bat cave that would make this all worth while and give some reason to the black box design. But let's be real, this set is still too expensive as is, and needing another large set of the same size to sit on top of it to "complete" the experience means that the set itself is not enough for me. It does not excite me. I feel as though I'd need something added on to make this set exciting. So what I'm really saying is that on it's own as a stand alone set, i'm quite bored with this new Batcave. And don't get me wrong i'm not inherently against getting sets for these older movies, but I wish they were a) more affordable and b) more exciting than this upcoming Batcave. Really hoping they eventually do more with this theme this year or next.
  21. So a few thoughts. i have the complete Disney Series 3 in front of me as I finally got a full set from the Lego store today. A lot of my first impressions remain but some things you really start to notice when you see the figures in front of you. i hate Aurora's face. I didn't think it'd be that big of an issue at first but wow I want to swap her head so bad. The sleeping face annoys me because that smirk completely takes me out of the sleeping illusion. It looks like she's closing her eyes giggling waiting for someone to reveal her birthday gift, or like a kid closing their eyes so their parents think they're asleep, but while giggling because the parent knows what's up. She doesn't look like she's sleeping at all. I feel like unless you're having the best dream ever you wouldn't smirk like that? Maybe I'm too cynical but I also thought her smile was huge it looked like she had buck teeth I wish she had a closed smile on one side and a regular sleeping face on the other. Not this huge cheesy smile and a sleeping smirk they gave her. I also actually do wish Baymax was bigger. The arms are not enough, he needs some actual floof to make him soft and bouncy. Since this is hard plastic and they cannot get the softness effect, they could at least mold a round poofy belly so he has the right silhouette. Instead of just new arm molds i think the entire torso should have been new. He's too flat for this character. I'd like for him to get reimagined. Also I know i've complained about Mickey before but yeah this figure solidified how I felt. Mickey needs mid sized legs and a smaller head mold. His head is huge and his legs so tall this does not look like the mouse himself, rather it looks like a tall person in a Mickey costume. I wish they'd scale him down a bit. Lastly while I love this series i can't help but feel like the figures from Series 1 clash with the newer designs? Like some characters such as Robin Hood and Stich look like they were pulled out of the movie they were originally released in. Very literal. Except, the Genie from Series 1 does not have that one to one likeliness and lacks the specialized head mold that the other 2 have, opting rather for a head piece which was later used for Marvel. Then Ariel has no black outlining on her mouth the way Aurora does. Actually, Jasmin and Ariel have no teeth printed or outlining for their mouths. Now Aurora and Mulan both have it and Ariels smile ends up looking awkward and unfinished next to them. I get that things change and design styles improve with time but yeah next to the Series 1 figures a lot of these figures stand out or look awkward. And finally I love the new Cinderella figure from the waist up! I know it sounds like I'm nit picking, and maybe i am, but I was expecting a different dress piece. Cinderella's dress has always been puffier and bouncier than Aurora's or Tiana's, so when we saw a link for the new Cinderella figure online, I was let down to see she was sporting the same dress piece the other. 2 princess's I named had. it's a great piece, but I was almost expecting the Queen of Hearts dress to be used for the bounce it has but alas the figure still looks amazing. Really excited to see the new Castle.
  22. Got all 10 figures I needed at the Lego store. Gonna miss feeling bags when they go boxes. Some thoughts now that I see them in person • Clay Potter is a lot more exciting in real life than over images. Her color scheme is adorable and I don’t mind the color on the legs fading out. • Space Hunter - he’s the best of the series by far. When seeing images I’d have otherwise thought it’d be the orc or the aristocrat. His head mold is reminiscent of Soundwave from Transformers. He actually reminds me of both Soundwave and Shockwave. His little exhaust opening in the back is such a clever detail he has the most personality out of all the figs. One of my favorites of all CMF series the more I look at him • Aristocrat - the dog feels more annoying of an accessory when you see him irl. Should have given her a new cake mold that could have been reused for a Sleeping Beauty cottage with Aurora and the 3 fairies. Or a piece of bread as well. Just wish she came with food or a better dog lol. Dress is beautiful Most other figures retain my initial impression its a great series and I’m so happy Lego finally made a purple series. Its actually more on the pink side of purple which leaves several shades open for future use. Darker purples or brighter pinks. All that’s left is to army build the orc. Well I guess the only real update is that i wound up getting the Falconer. Feelings the hard winged falcon mold changed my mind at the store. I was initially going to get all but her, the horse rocking girl and the carrot suit guy. But I caved and got her and I’m glad I did. Army building black falcon knights is a lot of fun, her hair is currently sitting on my 2020 Black Widow figure cause its the closest to a comic accurate Black Widow I can get. And the falcon piece looks so good.
  23. No trust me I was just nitpicking. I don’t plan on modifying any of these figures. I’m just saying its funny when you look at it because it looks like the wind is only blowing on her. But I appreciate this fig a lot she’s one of my favorites this wave. So I don’t know how I missed it but the up house is amazing. I do like the accessibility and affordability of the set especially considering all the $200+ sets being produced these days. What’s kind of ironic is that I actually still hope a large direct to consumer up house gets produced some day. Am I happy an affordable version was made? Of course. But I love that movie so much and really think a large, Simpsons house-esque build with a detailed interior, modular and able to be opened or closed /house should get produced someday. This movie deserves it. I love the face prints so much. Both Carl and Russel look straight out if the film and the crane build is adorable and its all so accurate. Dug is also the best part of the set for me. And since they got his mold out of the way, if we ever get a &200+ Up House D2C, maybe they can allocate some funds to Kevin’s new mold. I feel like Lego is finally giving Disney the love it deserves. 4 Disney princess mini figures in one cmf wave, another in a cheap train set, an affordable and accurate Up house, this is the sort of content I was hoping we’d get out of this license someday. Things started off slow with the first few years of 4+ Toy Story and Incredibles content (great sets but of course simplistic builds) and I really see them picking up steam and diversifying the content they produce. Not that that’s always for the best. This Peter Pan story book being a clear example of something that just is not going to work. But I like the general direction they’re taking for the theme.
  24. I wish but honestly this is the last thing I would expect it to be. The rumor post on ig says its Batman focused. Even if it didn’t Lego has given such a hyper focus on Batman since the start of this series and really intensely in the past few years, I just would not envision them producing a Justice League set in this day and age, let alone at that price point. i’m inclined to believe its an oversized Bat vehicle as thats what most of this theme is in general. I guess I wouldn’t mind a new Arkham if done well but its kind of like can we get something new? But I guess a good character selection can spice things up. Lego isn’t quite known for having a compelling character lineup for its DC sets, though. And then forget about them having accurate/detailed printing. Or god forbid a newly molded element. But of course they can allot funds to mold new batarangs every year. I should stop because I sound bitter lol. But I’m just not expecting much of whatever this turns out to be. I feel like it could be that art de po set? I was interested in that but I thought that was going to be like $200 or something, this price seems too steep for that set. Hopefully the gotham skyline art set ends up being cheaper and does actually get produced cause that kind of scenic backdrop is just perfect for a Lego Batman display. I hear this theme is having a “come back” of sorts in the coming months? I hope thats true. I’m pretty sure we don’t have an exact number of sets yet or even rumors to what they may be. I’m personally hoping for a new Batgirl with dual molded legs and leg printing and dual molded arms and arm printing. Its crazy that most of her figures have been mini dolls, inaccurate versions based on TLBM , or that terrible Rebirth figure with no detailing and an inaccurate hair choice. And the first was the best from 2014 but she lacked leg detailing it was kind of jarring. It’s wild to me that Lego has yet to give us a quality and accurate take on Babs yet. I really hope they do her justice sometime soon (badum tiss).
  25. I was under the impression this series would be with boxes. I am so incredibly excited to see they’re in bags! Marvel series 2 may be boxes but those will probably be MCU/Disney Plus themed anyways so I don’t mind. I’m shocked to see people are commenting on social media that this series looks bootleg or underwhelming. To each their own but Lego set a trend since Series 1 of not making unique moulded heads for a lot of the human cartoons and instead opted to stylize the face print. If anything, I think this series did the best job of replicating the animated styles of each character. Queen of Hearts and Cruella namely look very accurate and of the era they were originally animated in. I think this is the best of all 3 Disney collectible figure series and 1/2 were incredible. Thoughts: • Oswald - didn’t know how bad I would need this character. He looks sort of creepy but also very retro so job well done. I’d like to see some Halloween Lego photography of him, I could see him giving some kids nightmares. But in like the best way possible. • Pinocchio - is that a molded nose/ new head mold? If so we won. Fish in the bowl is the best accessory I could think of for him. Pinocchio was my favorite Disney movie as a kid so this figure is a must have. The whole series really but wow. • Jiminy cricket - kind of weird seeing him as a figure but we got Tinkerbell before so I guess it makes sense. Face print is another example of a non molded head in this series that really encapsulates the artistic style the character was originally animated in. • Wizard Mickey - I still hate how Mickey and Minnie have full sized legs. Like really not even mid sized legs? I’m sort of growing impatient with it but otherwise the figure is fine. Not a favorite for sure. • Tiana - it’s funny how I always wanted figures of the Disney princesses but somehow I still want the mini dolls as well. Think of it as a variant. Her dress is beautifully printed excited to add her to the collection. • Dr Facilier - honestly the one playing card is kind of underwhelming. I get it, but for some reason wanted him to have a new mold for an entire deck spread open. Like obviously a singular mold so you wouldn’t be able to take the individual card out but like a new mold for a deck of cards spread like in the form of a magician offering an audience member to pick a card would have been so useful. For Lego magicians, Gambit, and Facilier. Maybe I’m overthinking it but he underwhelmed me. • Queen of Hearts - love the face print. Love the poofy dress and the fact that Lego already had it in production so its not considered a new mold and they were able to sculpt her hair. More Alice in Wonderland characters please. • Aurora - not the hair mold I was expecting but she looks great. And again, the Owl looks straight out of the movie. Almost more excited for the owl than her. • Mulan - okay not loving this face print. The print is interesting because it leaves open the possibility of a set having her classic green dress. Well, green blue and yellow but whatever. The cricket accessory is really fun. • Ernesto De La Cruz - don’t spoil coco I haven’t seen it yet. I think he’s a douche though? Don’t tell me. Anyways his print is really well done. • Miguel - really like this figure. Haven’t seen the movie so won’t comment on the dogs accuracy just yet. • Pocahontas - mixed feelings about hair molds that are blowing in the wind in general. Similar to the vidiyo candy mermaid I feel the hair can look kind of ridiculous in normal contexts seeing as they usually look like the only one with this effect. So its like is the wind only blowing on her? Lol her print is incredible though, the leaves in her hair are excellent. She’s one of my favorites this series but they’re all so good. • Cruella Deville - you know its been ages since you’ve seen 101 Dalmatians that you genuinely can’t remember if she’s based off the live action 80’s (?) movie or the cartoon. Pretty sure its the cartoon and she looks great but somehow the Dalmatian pup steals her thunder. But isn’t that quite fitting? Lol might have to get 101 bags of this one. • Robin Hood - I want this figure so bad and I never would have demanded him otherwise. I don’t even know if I ever finished the entire movie as a kid because I was so young when I saw it. But wow he is so well done. • Prince John - the fact that I was inclined to call him King George before checking the list of names proves how long its been since I saw Robin Hood. What’s funny is he may be my favorite of the series overall. He has such a classic Disney animated look to him they did an outstanding job. It makes me want to go watch the movie again. And kind of sad to remember now I no longer have the VHS of it. • Stich - I love the new print and I actually really want a set with Lilo, Nani, and the house now that I think about it. So cute. • Baymax - so I guess I don’t mind him. But I’m not thrilled. His whole character design is that he’s poofy and bouncy and this figure doesn’t really encapsulate that for me. If they wanted to make a new mould for him, instead of just the arms, a new torso entirely or a piece that fits over sort of like a neck piece would have been better imo. I don’t really have a good point of reference for what I’m envisioning at the moment, but if they could have somehow did a singular new torso piece with the new poofy arms attached that would have been great. Idk he just looks kind of off to me. • Evil Queen - love the mirror and she looks great. Hope the old lady version of her is included with the supposed Snow White cottage coming out. overall my favorite and the best way to say goodbye to plastic bags. I hope the boxes have codes or something because I’m not going to spend my entire paycheck trying to get a specific character. Also just gonna say the train is cute, Moana was executed well but her legs seem to not match her skin tone. Also Tinker Bells face print is kind of ugly but the wings are perfect so there’s that. Not mad at Peter Pan being bland, I paid for a CMF of him and I’m glad they didn’t just put that exact figure in a set years later because that would have kind of devalued the original. But thats also subjective and other people may argue with time passing it’d be nice to get access to designs like that which you may have missed out on. Mickey and Minnie are too tall. That is all.
