LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
cosmic replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yikes, sorry to see these issues are so rampant. But its good to hear that Barnes and Noble has always had this policy, I really felt like I was being singled out in that moment so I appreciate hearing this. Totally agree its nice to see they eventually got the blind boxes sorted out, but it is a shame it wasn't done on time for Series 25, but most importantly the Marvel Series. Wish I was able to scan my own Beast figure when they first released, but what can you do. -
lol I literally said in the post you quoted that its almost guaranteed not to happen. the fact of the matter is the template they created for huge figures works perfect for various DC (and even some Marvel) characters, and I was lamenting how that potential would never be fulfilled. Kinda redundant tbh.

thanks for letting me know, it was the first app anyone recommended to me, then I figured it was quicker to just pay the update then research and download a new app once I was already at the store. I'll definitely be using the free apps moving forward. Gotta say the Telescope kid ended up being one of my favorites. He is sort of gender neutral in. way, I can see various people identifying with him. While I loved Series 26, a lot of the designs were hyper specific references and quite niche, there's something very refreshing about something so human like him. Also just loving this color scheme, his rocket shirt has got to be one of my favorite shirts in a while. Really cool fig. Also really appreciating how huge the Boogey Man's jaw is. Looks like he can swallow you whole, scary looking guy. I feel like he ties in well with the plushie collecter. She's all cozy in bed with her stuffed animals, and he's probably lurking under her bed or in her closet ready to spook her. They pair quite nicely. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion

Went to a Barnes and Noble a few days ago excited to run into several CMF series at once. I was excited to try scanning the boxes and seeing if the app really works. I was disappointed to see that I was only able to do 12 scans before I had to pay upgrade to get unlimited scans through the app I chose. I was trying to be frugal so paying to scan the boxes is kind of annoying. Cause who's to say you'll get everyone you wanted with the first twelve boxes you scanned? Especially unlikely when you are intending to buy from several different series. I was also disappointed to see most of their cmf was behind the counter and the lady working the counter kept rushing me despite there having been no line when I was doing so. She eventually didn't let me scan the boxes for the newest Series so I left with only 4 from Series 27. Has anyone ever heard of Barnes and Noble not letting people scan the figure boxes? Feel like that cashier was just giving me a hard time she was over my should non stop it was just weird, but I'm glad I got lots of figures. Got everyone from the Space series 26 except the Robot Nurse and UFO suit guy. Also the Boogeyman, Pirate, Pterodactyl suit, and Telescope kid from Series 27, and just the Barbarian Woman from Series 25. Not a bad haul but kind of awkward experience buying it that soured it for me. From being rushed and denied to scan more boxes, to having to pay the app for more scans, not a fan of my last time getting figures, but I was still so happy to have this barcode system to begin with. it's just so good and so clever. I guess if people scan boxes and leave the B&N with undesirable figures they struggle to sell, then sure it makes sense to limit scanning, but it was still a lame thing to hear. Wish Series 25 was more consistent with the barcodes. Only 3 of the ones I grabbed had barcodes and just my luck it was the characters I hate from this Series. The train suit kid, workout Girl, and video game girl were the 3 figures I did not enjoy from this recent series 25 and seeing them be the only boxes from said series with barcodes I could scan was annoying. I wish I left with more from this series but it was all a gamble given you had no clue who was in most boxes. Glad we can scan them all, now, though. -
So ran into a review of 40649 "Up Scale Mini Figure" and can't help but wish we could get this template for a few comic heroes. Namely, Giganta, Apache Chief, and Atom Smasher. At $50 I could see this being a solid range for a set or sets based off of the giant characters of DC comics. I figure it's almost guaranteed to never happen, but I think it'd be so cool to get these characters in this format. Also on a side note, but if the Asylum is based off of the Arkham games, we very well may get our first green skinned Poison Ivy variant through this. That would be really exciting. I think Harleys nurse outfit from the first game would be lots of fun even if its very similar to her TLBM CMF series figure. If anything they should have a plethora of designs to choose from for her.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion

I appreciate this perspective. Their pledge is commendable and the inclusion of the codes was actually a wonderful way to make up for our inability to feel the figures out for ourselves. I figure it helps avoid boxes being ripped open because in time, more people who learn about the apps can use them and avoid breaking store property. So its good for theft and consumer satisfaction at the same time. I will say that it was annoying at first, but they handled the roll to quite well. Only issue is I don't always have an easy time finding a Series, but this was an issue even with the bags. Looney Tunes was hard to find and similarly, felt like some of the newer Series, namely the Space series came and went very quickly. like it was in stores one week gone the next. Maybe they just sell well. -
My bad, by armor I guess I meant helmet? Like I definitely think he would need a new helmet. Not sure how they'd make his gun, probably brick built. I was imagining ivy in her signature jumpsuit with dual molded arms to represent the dark green gloves she has on. Her boots and leggings are similar enough in color to where I could see them just printing her belt piece on her torso and giving her dark green legs. I would love to have felt printing representing the slight color change for the boots but practically speaking they'll probably skip it and that's fine. I do feel she would look bad without the dual molded arms, though. I practically forgot she had the leotard in the movie wow. Good point about Two-Face, they'll probably just use what's available. And do we have a release date for Arkham yet? I'm curious to know when updates for this release can be expected. I'm dying to know the figures included. Could this have been in development for long enough to where they could maybe squeeze the Video mold in to be reused for Clayface? Hope that's not a stretch that'd be so cool to get. I'm personally hoping Hush, Clayface, and Mad Hatter are included. At $400 maybe they can throw Zsasz in if it's 18+. but that's probably a stretch. Also would love to see Batgirl bring back her cowl mould we haven't had a physical cowl for her in years, or a rare robin like a Red Robin or Jason Todd Robin would be great to see too.

Okay so fun fact growing up Batman and Robin was the only live action Batman film my family owned besides... you guessed it, the Adam West Batman Series/movie combo. Anyways to make a long story short I grew up thinking the Batman universe was supposed to be campy and I LOVED those films. So I personally would love to get those designs in Lego. Bat nipples on the suit, a Bat credit card 1x2 tile piece (printed), Robin with new face print (smoochy face maybe?), Bat girl (kind of think the trend setter hair would work well, hope they avoid the Black Widow/Gamora/Stargirl/Posion Ivy/everybody else hair piece), Mr Freeze (would need new armor tbh), and Poison Ivy (needs new hair for sure). All in all, kind of think the designs would be iconic and among some of the best designs ever if given the arm and leg detailing they need. Plus the moulds for Ivy and Freeze. Truth be told, they would likely cut many corners and leave me kind of mehed. And while I had no connection to Batman Forever, I can't deny the figures for that film would be easier to produce, with only Two Face really needing a new mould. Even then, if they have access to his 2012 hair piece, they could probably get away with using that cause its close enough. Plus only Riddler and Two Face would need arm printing compared to Ivy/Freeze/Robin in the alternative Batman and Robin set. Also, I kind of wish it wasn't another Batcave. We just got the Bat box which was supposed to be the cave for Batman Returns. It was a very expensive way to get Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman and Max Shrek figures. Now we have another Batcave coming out to add onto this film franchise and I can't help but wish they diversified a bit. I personally think the following scenes would make for amazing sets but I'm open to the idea that it may not be as marketable as I imagine; Batman: The Joker parade scene Batman Returns: Arctic World Diorama facade of the final battle between penguin and Batman. Including statue, moat of water surrounding the stage, some penguins and just enough of a wall to hold up the roof section to recreate the scene of Penguin falling through. A disheveled Catwoman with a hair piece variant would do well here as well. Not to mention the possibility for a new face print for Keaton. Batman Forever: i always thought Two Faces mansion scene with his good and evil girls (?) and the dining hall that was half white and half red with the huge two faced statue in the back was gorgeous and would gldy buy it in Lego. We don't need the entire building but just a diorama of that dining room would be great. Batman and Robin: If they could pull off the Observatory that would be epic. But the Museum Break in scene, the Ivy/Bane gorilla costume dance scene at the auction, Ivy's hideout, Arkham, or Wayne Manor would all be good options for a set. I gotta say though, I'd kind of resent our first (and only for some time until it retires) Wayne Manor to be based off of this movie lol. All in all there were just a lot of iconic scenes from these films that I don't necessarily mind the films being portrayed in Lego, just kind of let down by the fact that its consistently been through Batcaves lol.

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
cosmic replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow we finally got a $1000 set. I am kind of in awe because I truly never thought they'd take it that far. For this price range I have two things I would really like to see. First, this thing has to have panels covering its entirety to accurately represent the exterior of the Death Star. the first two models being open ended made sense for the budget at the time, but for this price I would require them to have the rooms covered, and of course it would need to closely resemble the cinematic Death Star. My second request, separate from the set being enclosed, would be that at least one mini figure scaled ship can be parked inside. I'd rather the set not include any vehicles and that they be sold separately, but either a Tie Fighter, or an Imperial Shuttle or should able to fit inside the enclosed set in the hangar region. There should be a hangar bay with ample room to fit such a set, at least 1 vehicle. But they of course should release whatever ship will be compatible with this, separately. I really want this piece count dedicated to the build if those two requests are to be met. Of course this may be niche and ridiculous to some, but if the set can't fit a mini fig scale ship of any kind, or isn't fully enclosed with panels reminiscent of the actual movie, I'm not getting it. For that price it has to look like the Death Star, not some blocky Lego model with no roof. I would use technic pieces to get the panels to slide up for interior access. And even if the hangar bay detracts from other rooms Im fine so long as they still include the necessary rooms (trash compacter, Leia's cell, conference room etc). Also kind of hoping they make use of technic pieces to provide stability and give this a large foot print. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion

Thanks, I'll be sure to give it another go and I'm happy to hear they eventually got it right. That said, time has flown by super quick this year (maybe I'm just aging) and I was so busy focused on work that in the blink of an eye, a couple more CMF Series got released. Still think that a Marvel CMF Series is like one of the worst Series to launch boxes with, given how lucrative most of the figures in said wave are/tend to be. But hopefully not an issue moving forward. but on the topic of theft, I wonder if all those images of broke boxes at stores may push the company to return to bags in the future. Feels like people open up CMF figures much more than before since they switched to boxes. But from what I heard, it can take a few years for a decision like that to kick in effect given how far in advance they plan their sets. -

So I guess my comment may be outdated but I last tried the apps when I went out to buy Series 25 (the one with the black and white detective, and the Harpy), and none of the boxes I found were compatible with the app. Happy to hear the newer series have fixed this problem. But it was still frustrating to deal with at first, especially for Marvel. I really didn't want to have to get Beast on the after market but here we are. -

This is so clearly a dig to the lady cyclops lol. I am so annoyed that they switched to boxes and I have to resort to using ear wax removal kits and downloading an app that most of these boxes are not even compatible with to try and see who I got, if they raised prices I'd probably go full Karen and call customer service lol. I absolutely hate the switch from bags to boxes I can't imagine tolerating a price increase as well. Literally barely buy mini figures now that its gone this way. Actually would love for them to go back to bags eventually these boxes are too much of a hassle imo. I gotta say, I was not expecting to love the plush toy collector as much as I have. Firstly, I think she would make a great girlfriend to the s6 sleepy head in their pajamas. I love that they include these plushies in various themes to collect. It's so meta. love the purple one in Dreams, love the orange one in friends, so excited to start collecting these plushies. Sometimes the company does gimmicks that work, other times, they don't. This, imo, is a gimmick that works. Also love the jet pack racer but wow had no idea his jet pack build was so ugly, lol. -
I get what you mean I definitely should have reworded. I guess I am not just exhausted by the theme but also feel like they never release anything quite, well perfect. For example, the new Knight Bus is perfect but it really needed the shrunken head. Hagrid's Unexpected Visit was, imo on par if not better than Buckbeaks Surprise or whatever it was called (lol) but the absence of the minister of magic and executioner figures in the newest set make it feel like you need to buy both to get the full experience. Then the new hall is missing the main tower, which I hope is released on its own. it just feels like everything gets remade but always incomplete meaning you still need the older sets for the same experience and it makes for an expensive and redundant collecting experience. I would like to compare this to Star Wars, where lots of the builds get repeated but most of them are meant to be Amy built anyways. It's fine to have multiple AT-AT's or AT-TE's or Republic Gunship because there are entire armies worth of these in the movies. So it's disappointing to see multiple Hagrid's Huts and Hogwarts Tower when there should only be one in universe. and one version of Hagrid's hut has the dog but you need the other version for Buckbeak and the executioner, one great hall provides the chamber of secrets but you need the other to recreate the Ogre scene from Sorcerers Stone, but then that one has no tower... it's like they never just release a definitive version of most sets (besides Dragon Alley and Gringotts which I do think are perfect) it all just leaves me frustrated. In conclusion, I was wrong to say that we should retire the theme, but I don't think its wrong to have wished you didn't have to buy multiples of the same set to get a full picture of the theme. Just wish they released sets that scratched every itch. Like even if on wave has the Ogre, Chamber of Secrets, all the professors and everything you could need, it would still retire in a few years and. new wave of people will appreciate buying it when they missed out, so its not like giving everyone what they want would hurt sales cause as you said there is always someone who missed out and wants it. But spreading thee figures and locations exclusively in expensive sets throughout the course of this themes run just make collecting exhausting and I stand by not being thrilled with how most of this has played out. Oh, and Madam Hooch doesn't seem to have her snake/cat eyes in the upcoming set she's in. It's little things like that and the missing shrunken head that make it seem like nothing ever quite keeps its accuracy or even its value in this theme.
-
I hope this ages poorly, lol. Kind of really hoping the bat cave is based on the animated series, and that it comes with a Robin with new hair mould to represent his cartoon appearance. Besides Robin I really want Killer Croc based off of his animated appearance to be included.
-
Completely agree, even think Ivy's animated hair could work well for Jessica Rabbit. Am I crazy for thinking that? lol. Also with news of Marvel getting a Spiderman based CMF series, hope DC eventually gets a a 2nd CMF Series. As unlikely as that is, lol.
-
The Batcave can be interesting if it comes with new and exciting figures. I feel like that is what's gonna make or. break it. If it's based on the animated series, I'd like to get a new hair piece for Poison Ivy should she be included. Here are some ideal figure lineups for various scenarios of what this could be based off of; Batman the Animated Series - Batman, Dick Grayson Robin, Alfred, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, the Riddler The Nolan trilogy - Batman, Bruce Wayne with bandage wrap on his waist, scars on body variant, Alfred, Ra's Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul, Scarecrow, x2 League of Shadow henchmen Comics - Batman, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Cassandra Cain Batgirl, Mad Hatter, Clayface, Jason Todd Red Hood, Commissioner Gordon This is just a wiahlist but it'd be cool to get this down the line.
-
Okay so, the choice to give legs for Narcissa and Bellatrix makes more sense now that they were looking to recreate the table scene and have the various death eaters be able to pose in the manor. Still would like to see Narcissa released with a proper dress, but she's kind of the only figure worth getting in this set. Easily skipping this set if she appears elsewhere, heck I can see myself skipping it regardless. I loved this theme while it lasted but kind of feel like it's run it's course. I'm ready to see it end only because I feel like i've gotten what I needed to get from it. Awkward how none of the Hogwarts sets combined to make a proper representation of the build. The more recent green roofed sets provided a silhouette closer to what the castle should look like, but still not quite exact and very blocky in some spaces. i wish they planned a proper castle that when combined truly provided the silhouette and design of hogwarts. They got close but never nailed it, and we have to accept this run of the theme for what it was, which was great in many ways and repetitive and surprisingly inaccurate in others. And to those who may feel i am being negative in calling for this to end, I mean no negativity with the statement. More so, that with a lack of new source material, it seems they have exhausted the material they had to work with. Just my point of view.

ASLUME (formerly Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion)
cosmic replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Everyone seems so obsessed with the lack of reason in giving Superman the mech over Lex, but no one seems to be mentioning how amazing the leg print is on Luthor. I can't seem to pin point where the Superman is based from, but the belt is interesting. It's different, for sure. But I have no idea where they pulled this design from. As for the Tumbler, very disappointed they didn't include the ejectable Bat Trike. I had hope we'd finally get it. I mean, Ninjago has given Kai's car an ejectable motorcycle before, so why couldn't they do the same for Batman? i was expecting more, for some reason, lol. As for Two Face, despite being one of the stand out figures of the wave, he's also got a new hair piece that seems perfect for Metallo. Seriously, I can see myself using this hair for custom Metallo figures, down to the color this piece works wonderfully for him. Truly an exciting wave (the bar is in hell). -

i've seen lots of posts defending the company but at a certain point what more can you say? TLG has been overpricing for some time now and the quality is not always there. Especially with the figures. I will say though, I love the new Venom car. Despite being kind of tired of Venom and feeling like we get too many of him, I really like this set. His car feels so sleek and is very in line with the recent cars we've been getting for various characters. Spiderman, Venom, and Miles Morales have all gotten really nice and sleek cars in recent waves. I find the choice to add Julia Carpenter so satisfying as well. We've gotten wayy too many Spider Gwens in recent years so this feels fresh and new. As for the new Spidey mech, i gotta be honest its probably the best mech Peter Parker has gotten. Plus anti Venom is a really cool new figure to get. I'm actually kind of loving this upcoming wave. For the most part that is. But yeah I got a good cackle hearing that the Thing will be a mini figure and the set would be based off of the MCU. I do have hope we may get the comic based Fantastic Four eventually, I mean heck they got around to giving us 90's variants for the X-Men, so they seem to be open to covering uncharted territory, just at their own pace. Still, it's a little annoying knowing it could have been this year. Still, having X-Men, Avengers, and Fantastic Four sets on shelves at the same time would be monumental for the company. I believe the UCS Milano should still be on shelves so make that four Marvel teams receiving content simultaneously through Lego. so cool. Can't wait to hear about the Summer Wave. -

Just built the soon to retire The Devourer Showdown. Really like the buildable Devourer and all the colors used. Reminds me of the stone monsters from the first Dungeons set which got me into this theme. i enjoy the new mould for the heros hair its something new and bold. Love the purple runt. Watching review videos online i certainly feel like i missed out on the Mountain Cave set when it was out. It has aged tremendously and I can only imagine it would be the center piece of my display if I had one. Nothing has even come close to its impact since its retirement. Not to say we haven't been getting great sets. Just not at that magnitude. -

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I gotta say I really don't like this. I really enjoyed the giant blocky builds of buildable Ares, 2016 Giant Man, and even the Harry Potter and Hermione buildable figures. Regular mini figs are so blocky that these giant figures don't look right next to them with their slender builds. I find the new Giant Man looks out of place. Surtur I'm not so mad at since he's a giant demon/god thing who had a slender build to begin with so him being a different species helps make sense as to why he is built different. But Ant-Man is a human so seeing every other human be so blocky has him standing out in a bad way for me. Unrelated but I think Trigon also works well with this new building technique. That's never gonna happen at DC most likely, but worth mentioning. I hope Galactus has the blocky shape of Ares and the old Giant Man build. Also hope they return to formula eventually on that. Found the new Giant Man disappointing. Also this new Hall of Armor leak is kind of sad? Aldrich Killian is the most exciting figure and has no arm printing. Iron Patriot looks so boring without arm or leg detailing but his helmet looks wicked. The blue mech (Igor?) actually looks decent. But the build is tiny, boring and uninspired. Barely resembles the movies and I hate the Pepper Potts fig at this point. So Pepper had this black "suit-dress" with a pencil skirt in the first Iron Man movie. We got that with the Iron Monger set. Appropriate for a movie based off of Iron Man 1, right? Well we got the same figure in the Hall of Armor based off of Iron Man 2 which came with whiplash and War Machine. She had a sleeveless tank top look, a grey look and yes, some office wear in black but this time short sleeved or again with a pencil skirt in Iron Man 2. the arms and legs could have been different but its close enough to her first film appearance where you kind of feel like you can cut them some slack. But now using this figure again for an Iron Man 3 set? Give her some leg printing at least! but an updated version of her white suit, or her battered look from the final fight would have been cute. This figure feels tired at this point and clearly is inaccurate as well. Overall I think its the worst Hall of Armor we've gotten. -

So this is why I'm excited to see the official images because I am so convinced I'm looking at a tongue lol. The way the purple curves upward and what looks to be light reflecting on the surface of the tongue have me feeling so sure of myself. Hope I'm not wrong. -

Okay am I crazy or is no one talking about this? In 71491 Mateo and Z-Blob Action Race Car leak, the coolest new piece was dropped that no one is talking about? In the leaked image, the green mohawked villain has a purple piece attaching between the head and torso in the neck area. This purple piece seems to be a tongue?! My excitement for this piece is mainly rooted in its utility for other themes. Namely, Marvel could use this piece for Toad. Can't wait to see clear images to confirm but I really think we got an official tongue piece!! -
So I recently wrote down my dream DC CMF Series and made up to 4 Series, going to type out my dream DC CMF Series 2 figures here. Honestly, I find some of these choices may prove to be controversial with people. I'm going to try and list my choices in order of least likely to most likely to be produced by TLG. 1. Superman Red Son. I expect a representative of the Trinity must always be included in a CMF Series and my pic for Series 2 would be Superman Red Son. His accessory would be a 2x4 tile comic of the Superman Red Son comic. I put him as least likely to be made since he has a hammer and sickle on his logo. 2. Jokerized Robin (Batman Beyond Return of the Joker) - I wanted to draw parallels between Series 1 and my hypothetical series. He would be standing in for Joker from Series 1. Put him this high since we are unlikely to get 16 figures and, while I want him, I logistically see the company excluding him. Would include the bang-gun. 3. Wildcat - Standing in for Huntress since he was depicted to be her mentor in the JLU cartoon (as far as I remember). He's so high because my Series has a high number of new moulds which he contributes to. 4. Circe - Red pig tails with her look from Wonder Woman #56 from the Witching Hour. Unlikely due to how little she was in this suit in the comics. Standing in for Cheetah as the "Wonder Woman villain" trope. 5. Tomar-Re - Unlikely due to the need for a new head mould. Would love to get him though. Obviously standing in for Simon Bazz. 6. Ravager - Noticing a trend here, needs a unique head/hair combo. Standing in for Bumblebee. Two sword pieces. 7. Wally West rebirth suit - Love this red and silver look. Introduction of his open haired cowl could be brought over to be used for his red and yellow costume. I put him here because this look is still rather new and he may be represented in another look, namely his red and yellow suit if he were produced. Still see Wally as the most likely Flash to be used in Series 2. Standing in for Jay Garrick. 8. Jackson Hyde Aqualad - Using the Mateo hair from Dreamzzz in blonde. Standing in for Aquaman and somewhat unlikely due to his obscurity for people who never saw Young Justice. 9. Wonder Woman (Challenge of the Gods) - Red roman battle suit with new helmet/hair piece, a shield with printing and a new cape piece with lining on the edge of the cape. This is the first issue Cheetah as we now know her was introduced to the world post crisis, and one of the first times we saw Diana in a suit other than her traditional suit in the comics. Not only is it iconic but the design itself is gorgeous. Not a guarantee given how few people would understand her historical importance in being included. 10. Black Lightning - Standing in for Metamorpho as the member of the Outsiders in the series. Pretty likely given he doesn't need new moulds. 11. Big Barda - Standing in for Mr Miracle. Comes with a brick built club. Pretty likely but still needs a lot of attention to detail. May be a headache to produce. 12. Larfleeze - Standing in for Sinestro, I see him as one of the more popular Lantern villains whose only real competition to be included in Series 2 would be Star Sapphire. 13. Starfire - Based on her 80's appearance. May be seen as very skimpy so possibly even controversial. Paired with her Hugh new hair piece, probably belongs higher up on this list. 14. Mr. Mxyzptlk - Obviously Bat Mites counterpart. Probably won't get the cartoonish hair/hat mould I'd give him, though. 15. Batman Beyond - Clearly the counterpart to 1st appearance Batman, new wing/arm mould inspired by the Man-Bat and Pterodactyl suit figures. I think he is the clear choice for Series 2 to represent the Bat. 16. Mr Terrrific - Most likely figure from my list to be made imo. Stargirls counterpart, no new moulds needed makes him an excellent candidate. Not to brag but I think I made a great series.
