  1. Well, at least I had a hunch I was being ridiculous, lol. That said, I look forward to seeing some professional MOCer create this realistic Tower, with the Met Life building and everything, and show it off at some Lego convention one day. I always thought I’d create it if I had the means, and I’m starting to realize that is a heftier task to take on than I initially anticipated. Delusional indeed, lol.
  2. Call me delusional but I am still saddened that the figure scale Quinjet couldn't land on the Tower.... But the set very well may have been worth 1K if they did that.. lol
  3. There's also this sense that the Blacktron figure is very busy. I don't mind the arms and leg, but the inhalator (?) and fro-hawk don't really mesh together and I feel like he has a lot going on. I catch myself going back and forth on whether or not I enjoy that figure. Maybe he just needs a new hairpiece.. That said, I'd prefer a nomral () Blacktron solider as a CMF because it's easier to army build that way. I suppose he may show up on pick a brick if they include him in a set, which may also be in my favor. Bring on the nomral soldiers !!
  4. I love the new M-Tron helmet. Just wish the visor was physical and not printed on, so I could army build with different faces. Having the visor printed on as me feeling like all the soldiers may have the same face, or only one would have a visor. Both options being kind of awkward. As for the Blacktron figure, he's cool but very particular. I would have preferred a standard Blacktron solider I could army build. But of course, they could always do that in standard series, so not a huge deal. They have Western, Space, City, Sports, and costumed archetypes in just about every series, so there's still hope.
  5. Completely agree they're unlikely to produce her with the needed attention to detail in anything other than a CMF, which is a shame. Over at Star Wars, Bo Katan appears in a $40 set with new hairpiece, helmet with printing, arm and leg printing, exclusive to her! Hope we one day come to that attention to detail here. I know I've exhausted the Star Wars comparisons, but I truly feel they don't know how good they have it. As for a Storm variant, I already bought the BAM white tussled hair and gave it to a spare Storm, and removed her shoulder pads to make it fit. This is, what I imagine they will do as well. For the most part the only difference between the 90's cartoon and the new Storm is the tussled hair vs the mohawk. I would rather they just skip her altogether, however. Also, revisiting images of the AoU showdown, I adore the figures! Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Hulk are NOT identical to the tower! They all have the AoU designs, and it seems they all have leg printing as well! To be able to have the core team in their correct costumes for Avengers in the Tower, and the AoU designs in the Showdown set, is so convenient. As opposed to having to collect 6 sets for the whole team, the way we needed to in 2012 and 2015 respectively, the company is giving us all we need in just 2 sets, versus 12. and they all have leg printing? Except for Thor, that is. But he doesn't need it. May be too soon to say, but I think even Captain America has leg printing!!! That would be epic! if I catch this AoU Showdown on sale, definite purchase. Once I caught eye that the figures are exclusive and accurate to the second Avengers film, I completely turned my view of that set around. As for the promotional Captain America Sam Wilson, he does appear to be fairly comic accurate. My only qualm is, he looks awkward without arm printing. But it does feel like a lot to ask for that in a book. With the new wing piece showing up in the Dungeons and Dragons set, I kind of wish we got that in red for him. I'd probably look the other way for the arm printing if he had the wings. But he's kind of mid, even with his leg printing, lol.
  6. Lol thank you. I was hoping these ideas would be well received. The kicker being, they're all cheap! I uhh, appreciate cheap Lego content these days.. Batman and the Ivymobile pursuit /s Edit: I hate to complain you guys, but I just saw a reference image of Mr Freeze and realize he should have had arm and leg printing! I still enjoy this figure, but I really thought they got him right. But as they say, a win is a win.
  7. I'm saying! The buildable figure this year is accompanied by a buildable vehicle. Our one "regular set" has 3 figures and 1 of them is new, the other 2 only really available in a large D2C. And our D2C is one of the strongest in years, even if not technically part of this wave. I will say, only 1 regular playset is kind of whack. I mean i would have loved 2-3 sets, which still feels like barely nothing. I think Ivy's pink car with the rosebud license plate would have been an easy cheap set for the Batman the Animated Series wave. I would have made the wave as follows; Batmobile - Batman, Dick Grayson, Mr. Freeze Ivy's Pink Car - Batman, Ivy, Museum Security guard/ cop GCPD Showdown - Build being a cop car or two - Batman, Commissioner Gordon, Wilkes or standard cop, Killer Croc, Scarecrow Batsignal - Batman, Harvey Bullock, Two- Face I know we're not really supposed to do wish lists here, but yeah, can't shake the feeling that we really needed more than 1 set for this wave. I think a few cop cars and a batsignal with a decent figure selection would sell well. But what do i know.
  8. My one thing though is, on that second floor it looks like there are two orange beds side by side and they have no wiggle room to walk between the beds. I may be wrong it may just be a single bed but it currently looks like a very crammed room. Besides that this Bed & Breakfast looks so cool. Thanks again @Lyichir for providing context.
  9. Thanks for the response! With better images she just looks so exquisite. I feel kind of silly with my initial impression now lol. I will say though, from a distance she really looked like Mei, though lol. That said, these new costumes for the cast are kind of tacky. it's reminiscent of the Endgame suits for Marvel, not quite a compliment hehe.
  10. Wow, that tower looks amazing. My first impression was, that snake lady looks like the Spirit Guide or “Higher self” of Mei. She looks like Mei in the spirit realm, I should say. Not tk try and impose new age beliefs onto Chinese culture, just the impression I got when I saw her. The color scheme on that tail looks amazing and honestly she alone makes the set worth getting. Super excited to see that snake lady up close. But of course, the tower itself is gorgeous.
  11. Excuse you, that figure is based off the New 52 where she very much had gold boots with the Bat insignia at the helm/where the boots meet her knees. She very much needed dual molded legs with leg printing at that. Heck even the belt printed on her lower torso makes more sense being printed on her hip. The bar is very very very low so of course she is easily the best, but let’s not pretend that figure was made without flaw. I just wish we got the Lego Batman Movie production budget, on an actually comic accurate Batgirl. She tend to need both dual molded legs and leg printing due to the nature of her boots. I guess if we got Young Justice Batgirl we could skip the leg printing, but she would need some upper arm printing. Honestly most Superhero characters need a greater attention to detail than the company is willing to provide. This is true for both Marvel and DC characters. Speaking of the bar being low, am I crazy for thinking this is the strongest Summer Wave we’ve had in a while?? I mean a new Mr Freeze, a new Batgirl (even if she looks ridiculous) , and the Bat Pod looks amazing? Once again standards are low but I view this as a small stepping stone for the company. Who knows maybe things will pick up pace.
  12. I’m guessing they’re saving that for another CMF line, the eventual D2C Sleeping Beaut Castle, or (I really hope) a Sleeping Beauty Cottage set!! My hope is the latter, with the introduction of Merryweather, Flora, and Fauna, the cottage can have the blue dress, and the cake build! And the castle can have baby Aurora, the King and Queen, some guards, Maleficent and the spindle of course. As for a CMF series, I would personally love to see Ariels teal dress to pop up, should they ever want variants of the princess’s to appear. I say that cause her white and pink dress could be included in sets for the bot and castle respectively, should they ever be made in mini figure form. And obviously we still need to get Raya and Merida as figures in a CMF series. What’s fun about these princesses is that there’s so many ways to produce their variants.
  13. Oh yes that Baby Gorilla polybag is easily one of the best polybags of the year. Also hoping to see better images of the rollercoaster because it currently looks kind of unstable with those thin connections. But the exo force reference is certainly something to hype about. On that note please reboot exo force !
  14. I agree the long legs make a wonderful variant for Maxime. Wow did not know we had this ship before, and more recently than the troll! But for the troll and ship to be produced it is certainly the first we saw them in the reboot of this license. Still , even if it’s not the very first time ever, it feels fresh and for that I am very excited! Just don’t need 3 Great Halls so really hope there’s a cheaper way to get that troll. Pick a brick mayhaps… but that may be asking for too much lol.
  15. Is this confirmed? Wow 2 of the same set in 1 year sounds ridiculous. But I guess I’ll be buying the larger one if this is true lol
  16. Wow that Tiger looks amazing. Hope all the animal moulds can be bought via Pick a Brick, in which case I'll only buy the small Red Panda set with Johnny Thunder and order the other animals individually, I said it once and I'll say it again, this is the best Alligator color scheme the company has given us. Not bad for a wave but I agree the last Jungle Wave out performed with the Temple Ruins as side builds, much more exciting than just the foliage and vehicles we're currently set to receive.
  17. Is that an apartment building? Or just a traditional home? Unsure, but that white and blue building is a treasure and easily the best of the wave. Everything else is cute but an easy pass when you already have a Friends Waterpark. Kind of liking the outdoors sets though, but due to space and budget may have to pass.
  18. Simba looked much better in the preliminary concept images wow. I love Ariels hair wish it was released on pick a brick. Is the new Little Mermaid set based off some cartoon? Ursula and Ariel look different to anything I've ever seen. Everything is an easy pass. Which sucks because I wish we saw a new Brave set get released.
  19. Kept jinxing myself to believe one of the brick built mechs would be E-123 Omega. Really hope he's next to be produced. Love seeing Super Sonic with a new head mould! Did not see that coming. Am I wrong to hope he gets included in another set so I can skip this one? Lol you never know with Lego these days.
  20. The ship is cool and all, but wow I just bet the inclusion of the carriage makes it 20-30 bucks more expensive than it needs to be. Wish it was just the ship to keep the price low. But original content in 2024 for this theme? Nearly unheard of, excited to scoop it up. The Great Hall looks blocky because they completely excluded the cylindrical tower to the right of the hall. I agree the stairs leading to the harbor are inaccurate, should be zig zagged and not straight down. Having said that, it's nice to see it included at all. It's kind of funny how we got 3 Great Halls and all are somehow inaccurate in their own ways lol. Really hope that Ogre makes his way into another set somehow because I otherwise really do not want to buy this set lol. Everything else is an easy pass given I'm buying Dragon Alley soon. Also brick built Griffon is so ugly. The legs look unstable with those ball joints, and the textures and details feel really unsatisfying to look at. No where near as attractive as brick built Hedwig.
  21. I completely agree on Gamora, I was actually expecting her to have the black suit!! Such a missed opportunity. I just noticed Thor's cape. I love it but I agree his hair choices are minimized as a result. Also the inability to give Cap leg printing is odd. If they just made one good leg print I wouldn't mind them reusing it, even if it's not all too accurate for other movie appearances for him. Feels odd. This new wave is... not that bad? But still sort of mid in some ways haha. Some thoughts: Potted Groot - Easy skip, Baby Groot is the only buildable Groot I feel is worth getting. Surtur Battle - Fire Demons make the set for me. Surtur looks great but can't help but feel we'll get a larger to scale build some day rendering this set useless. Feeling like I may hold off for a more "definitive" version as I really don't like having multiple of the same set (looking at you Harry Potter Great Hall), unless it's an X-Wing type set which should be army built in the first place Iron Legion vs Hydra - I think I may pick this up. Needs more Hydra, though. Poor guy is getting jumped Leviathan - too small and blocky, not up to current Lego standards I fear Avenges Assemble AoU - Jeep looks great but I have Speed Champions for well designed cars, once I get the Tower all these figures will be rendered useless. Display is very busy and clunky. Not bad but not great, embodies mid Milano - Eh, I have all these figures already, nothing new there. Interior is great but honestly the OG had great interior as well. I actually disagree with everyone, feel the Benatar was worth getting because it truly upgraded from the OG Benatar. This feels better, but also the same in many ways. Probable skip. Overall not a bad wave, but still looking forward to more comic content. Sure the opening AoU scene, Surtur, and Leviathan have never been sets, but one is clunky/busy and the other 2 are under scaled, with all 3 being from movies we have already gotten sets for. It's like new content, in the context of existing content. Just make a Squirrel Girl figure please and I'll shut up. Bring back the Chima fox tail while you're at it.
  22. I really wish the jet pack piece (64802) that comes with the Mandalorians and by extension Boba Fett, was available for sale on pick a brick. I really like this piece and want to use it for my Space figures. I guess I could always get a small set like the micro fighters and discard the repeat Mandalorian in that set, to give his jetpack to my space figures, but I’d rather just buy the piece on its own. Also kind of wish it’d be produced in a solid black color. Ideally, the piece would be included in a new fun color with the BAM figures. But its exclusivity to Star Wars may be a licensing issue. Which sucks because I love that piece and would gladly order it in different colors for my non Licensed figures. It really is the best jet pack piece the company produces.
  23. Thanks, I'll give it a try. hope it works with smaller QR codes as those are the only ones I come across.
  24. I actually enjoy the color scheme. Imagine this Harpy in a night or evening setting, it looks mystical and ethereal. I always thought it made sense when thinking of blue, pink, or just dark skies. But I wouldn't mind a more realistic color scheme being released moving forward. Besides, the Harpy is a Greek mythology reference, but this concept exists in many religions. The Sirens of Christianity serve the same purpose, and it would be nice to see a Siren in a beige, brown or grey color scheme. But for some reason I don't envision Lego producing Christian figures the way they produce Ancient Greek Mythology figures, namely because one religion is, for the most part, in the past, while the other is heavily practiced today. I am kind of annoyed that everywhere I go the QR codes are so small, I want to use the Brick Searcher app, but Lego has not released many of the boxes with the scannable QR codes. I may end up having to Bricklink these figures and that is so annoying. Lego has basically killed the CMF line for me with the blind boxes. I miss being able to buy collectible mini figures in person. Whatever :/
  25. Went to my Lego store today and got some BAMs. Got the Western Cowboy exactly as he appears here. Love him, but the stars and cactus on his pants are reminiscent of the decorative pins you can put on crocs, lol. I love love love love love the light green pants on the construction worker, the color is amazing and makes the figure unique from other construction figures. I was unable to find this construction hat with headphones, kind of wish they had that. I also got the green alien head and gave him the body and shoulders of the top middle space man. He looks amazing, feel like the head piece is an obvious use for Shrek customs. Just wish they had the blue panel in stock as well. Overall some of the strongest BAM releases in a while.
