  1. I had the same thought. The lack of arm and leg printing (besides the dual molding that is), was expected for the set version of Captain America Sam Wilson. But I also at least expected the wing mould to carry over. This brick built design is not horrible but surely not as exciting as the CMF mould. Oh well, luckily I don't plan on buying this set. Which leads me to say that I really dislike the set at large. As always, disliking Lego is a blessing for money and storage space as I would hate it if I felt every set hit the mark just right and had to be purchased. But wow this set is ugly lol. The jet build is so awkward? like the wings aren't quite like anything I've seen for real world air crafts. The cockpit is kind of ugly and the underside of it has a blocky build that doesn't look lie it lines up uniformly with the underside of said cockpit. In short, the build is just nonsensical and not aesthetically pleasing. Falcon is a weaker variant to his CMF design. He also looks awkward with the lack of flesh printing on his first head. Second head helps bring him to life but still a very underwhelming and awkward figure all around. Sabra has the most overused hair piece, with an unoriginal face print, redundant torso printing and ugly pants. Seriously hate those pants, especially when looking at other times Lego got pant printing right. Think the Series 8 CMF DJ, the TMNT April O'Neil, etc. They had pockets lining the upper edges of the hip area, with the zipper line printed near the middle of the legs. These pockets flat in the center of the pants make no sense and I hate to see them used as often as they are. Lego has gotten the angles of pockets right before so their insistence on using the pockets-in-the-center-of-my-pants piece to provide "Detail" for figures like Sabra and Electro is kind of bizarre and somewhat funny to me lol. Mid-ugly at best is a theme with the elements of this set. The pilot looks like a Star Wars figure to me. Which, initially, could seem like a compliment. But I mean more the else-world video game figures from the 2008 era that were ambitious with their attention to detail, but eventually age poorly. Quite a peculiar point of reference, but, all this to say... I think he will age poorly. As in, he looks fine if you squint now. haha As for Red-Hulk, hoping this makes aftermarket prices on the Hulk v Red Hulk set go down on Bricklink. Not that they're particularly high anyways. I agree this figure is also comic accurate and so dapper. He looks amazing, but I'll pass knowing we have a similarly interchangeably dapper comic based Red Hulk available in a better set. Yeah, there's now a set worse than Hulk truck vs Red Hulk truck. I will say I have a mental trip with figures like Red Hulk. He comes in a cinematic set but his figure is accurate to the comics. I am very particular about how I display my figures and never have my MCU figs displayed with my comic figs. Always in their own lane. Heck, I wouldn't even display first appearance Wonder Woman and Batman besides figures from the New 52 or Rebirth. So when a figure like Red Hulk is comic accurate despite appearing in a MCU set, I get kind of a headache. Feels like cheating when you pose em with your comic figures lol. Last example I could think of this would be how Black Manta has been depicted in a near identical suit in the comics as the one we got from the Aquaman movie set. kind of neat.
  2. Really hoping we get something for the summer wave.
  3. Okay this new Lex Luthor looks amazing? He has great leg printing and the kryptonite shoulder armor is clever and looks cool. Superman is mid but at least we're getting him! From what I can see of the mech, the cape is built awkwardly and small, but the rest looks appropriate. I quite enjoy the figures we get of Joker and Two Face in their Nolan verse fits. I agree its lame that Scarecrow came in a Tumblr as well, because in order to have all three villains from the Dark Knight, you basically need to buy 2 of the same set. But maybe I'm crazy, but it looks like the motorcycle can be detached and is built separately from the Tumblr itself. It looks that way based off the image we have. Can't wait to have that confirmed. I sure hope this has the detachable motorcycle. As for Mr Freeze, he looks nice I guess. Probably gonna skip that set though. Overall, as odd as it sounds, this is the best batch of figures for a Winter Wave we've had in a while. I actually think this is one of the best Luthor figures we've gotten at all. It's like the tiniest revival for the theme it truly is just giving us crumbs. But its been so long with nothing new, even crumbs feel better than nothing. I'm not mad at this and hope its indicative of more things to come.
  4. Minimates mentioned we won boys. Lol I used to be obsessed with minimates you just threw me in a loop. Wow I'm getting old. And yes to Jean with dual molded arms and legs with gold instead of yellow on her boots and gloves! I feel like she may need to be in a CMF to get the attention to detail she deserves. Also thanks for the reference image for iceman, lets be real I'd be happy to get him in white or light blue. As for Galactus, I won't get too excited for now but I don't want a female Silver Surfer or any of the particularities in the faces or suit designs of the F4 that may make them distinctly MCU based. I'll be very transparent in saying that I wish to see comic based variants over MCU variants even if the MCU is super darn close. Remember how Got 3 was basically comic based? Little things like Mantis not being green, and Drax not being green with swirls on his shoulders would have made the difference between me actually picking those sets up. So fingers crossed. I also don't want the GWP to be a Sentinel because I think they should have a set of just 1 Sentinel you can army build.
  5. As always late to the conversation but whatever I'm here. lol Love love love Jean Grey. Her face color came out nice and vivid on that navy (?) blue headpiece, the scarlet hair is pretty, and the shoulder armor makes sense. She looks awesome, can't wait to get her. That said, I do wish to see the Phoenix re-relelased with modern dual molding on her arms and legs someday. But this will do for now. The snipper of the X-Mansion that leaked looks wonderful. Much better than what we saw in the survey so I'm officially back on board with this! It's all kind of exciting really. I felt the Sentinel was bulky and I wouldn't mind a cheaper set that we could potentially army build Sentinels with. That's besides the point as Iceman was the real standout of that leak. He was a bit whiter than I expected for some reason I was expecting to see him as a more blueish tone. But I guess the white makes more sense in hindsight. Or maybe its the lighting and he had a light bluish tone all along? Can't find the leak anymore so we'll have to wait and see. Overall excited for more X-Men content, said it before but a Silver Samurai mech would go hard. As for the Galactus vs Fantastic Four set being comic based? I feel like I'm in a dream right now. I was expecting it to be MCU based but if it is indeed comic accurate that will potentially go down as the best Marvel set ever. I almost get emotional thinking about it, as lame as that is. This is hands down the best news we've gotten for this theme in quite some time. Okay let me calm down but what if it comes with Silver Surfer? How perfect would that be. Actually kind of giddy at the thought of this release lol. And I know its obvious but think of all the Sue Storm figures we could get? Like one where half her arm is translucent, one where she's all translucent except her head so it looks like she's a floating head kind of? One where her legs are invisible so it looks like she's a floating torso? This is sooo exciting. And then think of the Mr Fantastic possibilities!? Regular figure all around, regular torso but with the long Ms Marvel arms, using the long Avatar pieces, new torso mould that is nothing like anything we've ever seen... yes The fact that we will have X-Men and Fantastic Four sets on shelves at the same time next year is just so exciting I really can't express how full circle and rewarding this moment feels.
  6. This tends to play into my mentality that Lego does not find interest in producing DC sets and that our lack of content is not just because of the failed cinematic franchise, but also because Lego doesn't like DC. Maybe that's tin foil hat talk but it's what I've speculated for some time. In any event I hope we get a Green Lantern mech soon. The Green Lanterns lend themselves the most towards being used for the mechs given the nature of their power. I would love to get John Stewart with a different haircut and suit that he got in that book, or. a Guy Gardner mech. Green Lantern mech vs Sinestro mech sounds like fun. I can also see the mechs being more exciting if they went to Bat family members like Batgirl or Red Hood over Batman. And while I know we've heard Marvel fans say they'd love for the new wing piece from the DnD CMF series to be used for Angel from X-Men, I actually think those wings would work well for many characters, namely Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Come to think of it they'd probably be good for Falcon as well, but that's a comment for the Marvel sub. Anywho, I'd love to see DC use these wings, but also the folded wing mold from the VidIyo Pegasus/Monkie Kid Vulture villain on the Hawks in the near future while they're still in production. And if we are to get anymore Batman the Animated Series sets, I'd love to get Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Clayface and the Ventriloquist + Scarface figures with a Commissioner Gordon or Harvey Bullock thrown in the midst. Clayface with the Vidiyo slim guys head mould, Hawkman with the new CMF wing piece, Green Arrow with the new hood piece used on Emperor Palpatine, oh the things they could do.
  7. Okay I gotta be honest, never heard of the bio lizard or metal Sonic before. But honestly, I am loving both of these sets. First of all, we get Super Sonic in a cheaper set, with a (so-far) exclusive Super Shadow. Super Sonic was the only exclusive character in the drillmaster, but now he's with another rare figure with the build being something we haven't seen yet either. It feels so fresh and familiar at the same time, I love this set. And $45 is not bad. As for the Cyclone vs Metal Sonic, the build is kind of forgettable but the Metal Sonic looks so cool. No clue who he is but it looks affordable so I'll probably end up picking it up. I'm really liking how this theme has been handled so far.
  8. So I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I love this new burrow. I've seen lots of complaints about this online and I guess it's all about perspective. I didn't get this last 2 burrows, so it feels refreshing to get 1 that's not in retirement and is fresh to the market. Plus this one has the vine escalator thing, and effects for the pots and pans moving around. It feels magical and whimsical and has special effects the previous 2 did not have. As someone who doesn't have a burrow yet, this one not only feels fresh and full of detail, but exciting! I'm so excited for this set. I guess the only downside is there is no Belllatrix Included. I really hope they produce another Bellatrix sometime soon. This time with a crazy cackle face, and dress printing. It sucks we've only had 3 Bellatrix's since this theme's reboot. 1 was in a CMF series! So only 2 sets have had Bellatrix in it, and now that I think about it, it may have only been 1! Memory is failing me but whatever the case may be, it seems as though there aren't enough Bellatrix figures in this theme.
  9. Totally agree with everything, but emphasis on Gwen Stacy! She was done dirty in the Daily Bugle, truly wish we had the Lego Marvel Superheroes version of her produced in real life. So much of Spideys supporting cast is missing or barely represented in Lego. Shame, truly. I agree, their inclusion in sets for Across the Spiderverse makes a lot of sense. I do not want to insinuate that they should not be present in sets for the film. Rather, I feel they are over represented in the theme as a whole. For sets based on said film, sure, include them. But overall. I think we get too many Miles and Gwen figures in Lego generally speaking. This complaint was more so aimed at the constant inclusion of those 2 in Lego these past few years, not so much just for this set. Yes, for a set based off of Across the Spiderverse, we should get Miles and Gwen, but did they need to be the supporting cast in EVERY set they've been a part of for the past 4-5 years? That's more so the point I was making :)
  10. Kind of annoying how poorly Lego has executed so many characters that are unlikely to be reproduced ever. Professor Zoom should have had dual molded legs. Cheetah 2018 looks terrible with no arm or tail printing! She needed her spots it looks so awkward having plain arms with her spotted torso. Shazam never got his boot printing, and given they should be golden not yellow, we can't use the Flash's legs as a substitute the way we can for Firestorm. Who by the way, needed printing as well. Just so many characters who will likely only have mid interpretations for as long as we'll know. And then the characters I'd love to see! I would love Circe, Giganta, Star Sapphire, Kilowog, Larfleeze, the Metal Men, Doom Patrol etc. Sucks they'll likely never be produced. Such a shame how DC in general has been handled, but Lego DC especially. Hopefully next summer wave surprises us.
  11. Everything about this rumored armory is an easy pass for me. Hoping we get a D2C Malibu Mansion with a decked out interior to put an end to all Hall of Armors by giving us not just the armory, but the very building its inside of. Also I feel the Portals set should have came with Giant Man, Iron Patriot, Rocket Raccoon and Hulk in his End Game black and red suit. That scene where Giant Man bursts out of the broken head quarters felt so iconic and would love to recreate it. I know this may be harsh but besides the Helicopter with Rescue and the Iron Gauntlet, all the End Game sets Lego has done have been kind of terrible. To me, anyways. And finally, no I have not yet watched Across the Spiderverse, and I do understand that her inclusion is likely very reasonable, but good lord I am so over the Spider Gwen presence in Lego. Like? I would have killed to have another SpiderMan Noir, or finally getting Jessica Drew in a mainline set. It would be awesome to see Gwen Pool, even. It's not so much that I don't think she should be in this set, on the contrary I feel her presence makes lots of sense. But the choice to constantly include her over Spideys other supporting cast is tiring. I want to see Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, Flash Thompson (not as Anti Venom just as himself), Eddy Brock, or Eddy Brock mid transformation into the Venom. Feels like we get the same cast of Spidey characters every year, and besides the villains this year seems to be the same. Sure Anti Venom and the Spot are new, but the side characters are as repetitive as ever. And finally I really wish they had the hair piece used for Dr Grace Augustine available for sale on pick a brick or build a mini figure. In my opinion, works better for 2012 Black Widow than the piece we have. Wish it would pop up again.
  12. So I have only played Fortnite once or twice but I think the sets look amazing. I absolutely adore the attention to detail on the figures in the bus as well as the spacious interior for the set. Sure its missing dual molded arms and legs as needed, but the arm and leg printing feels adequate enough, especially being a Superheroes fan where we almost never get that. I agree the llama looks great and will make a fine display piece, just not currently interested in owning this. I mean its fine but not for me. Peely bone on the other hand is very much something I want. It's just so well done and so detailed and at such an appropriate scale, love it instant buy if the money is right once this releases. I fear we are sleeping on this build.
  13. This is all very surprising. Most of the survey leaks have been near identical to their original leak (think Simba or Barad-Dur), so it is very refreshing to see that the X-Mansion has actually done a huge transformation and looks nothing like what it once did in the original leak. Which is so exciting because the survey image was kind of hideous. Sure the image is as blurry as can be, but its enough to show that the design has had an upgrade from what it once was meant to be. Adore the design and the figure lineup is quite exciting as well. Jean Grey is the only person I wanted to get, so her being confirmed is very important for me. Iceman is nice to see but kind of shocking, truly thought we'd get Jubilee or Morph before him. Not mad at it though, overall. this was a very exciting leak for me. I've yet to see Across the Spiderverse believe it or not, so I still know nothing about the Spot. Just glad we're not getting another Thanos or Goblin. Anti Venom is similarly exciting despite being unfamiliar with him. And yes I love the Iron Man vs Hulk $15 set. 2 great comic based figs in an affordable set, I think its neat. Overall, most of the recent leaks have been swell. My only qualm is I wish we got Giant Man in the upcoming Endgame battle, not a mini fig Ant Man. Also wish we got Iron Patriot over Wasp. The figure lineup that's rumored feels repetitive.
  14. How ironic the set leak for this was posted to Reddit shortly after this comment. I guess I'm on the outs but I am not interested in this at all. It has a very 2007-2009 vibe to the box and build which I appreciate but I actually hate the character designs and find both the interior and exterior to be kind of ugly. Easy pass. This has got to be one of the worst summer waves ever, to me at least. But yeah good for my wallet.
  15. That new 3 pack is so exciting. Love the clone troopers, the Yoda figure and the Taun We figure. Kind of wish there was some way to save money with the battle pack, though. Still, at the same price of purchasing all these sets individually, I can see myself buying this pack. Thoughts on the exclusive 25th Anniversary Figures and the sets they come in. Nien Nunb - Easiest grab. Love the figure, love the mould, and love the set. Best version of the Sarlacc Pitt, the Skiff has more details than ever and the figures are amazing. I guess I just wish we got more bad guys besides Boba Fett Saw Gerrera - Kind of upset with this one. His figure is amazing but this Sith Infiltrator is a major let down. The 2011 version had Padme and Captain Panaka. I wish both were present in this set to increase the value. Only 3 figures and Qui Gun Jinn doesn't have dual molded legs or even side leg printing. Huge let down. Plus the build is nothing special and feels too blocky for a 2024 release, I was expecting something more polished. I hate to say it but Saw may not be enough to get me to splurge on this. Fives - The more I look at this set the more I like it. The figures are great army builders. I mean you can never have too many Rebel Soldiers or Stormtroopers. The build is clean and aesthetically pleasing, so I can't be too mad. I see myself buying this. Child Leaia - It would be nice to have this figure but not necessary at all. Plus I find the buildable droids useless and easy to pass on. To save money I really don't see myself buying this. Luckily its not a variant I'm particularly ecstatic about. Meh figure, meh build, Meh all around. Good for my wallet, I guess. Darth Malak - I actually kind of love this figure but not excited about this build in the slightest. I don't think I need a buildable R2 to display and this one is nothing to die over. It's alright but the price is high so unfortunately I may have to skip this one. Bummer Darth Maul - That ugly 25th Anniversary Logo printing on his back make him the biggest pass. Plus his figure is bound to be remade eventually without that dumb print. Cal Kestis - Never even knew who this character was until this was announced. The set reminds me of what I would see on the Toys R Us shelves in 2007. For the nostalgia factor, may pick this up. But I'll wait for reviews to decide. I don't feel strongly about this in any way. Time will tell. Overall I appreciate the gimmick over ignoring the 25th Anniversary, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this Summer Wave is mid overall, and easily overshadowed by the sets we got last year. ooh but unpopular opinion I kind of love the Duel on Peridea. I think it looks clean and focused, not too busy. The figures are amazing, and I don't think the price is as bad as people are making it out to be. I actually see myself getting this, its fun and looks amazing.
  16. So never saw the 2020 Polybag for the Princess book which came with that mini doll with Poison Ivy's hair in pink. To be exact, its the DC Superhero Girls Poison Ivy hair in pink. I think that mini doll hair looks amazing and I wish I picked that book up. It's weird, I swear I never saw any posts on Reddit, instagram or even Eurobricks advertising that book with that doll. Hopefully that hair pops up somewhere else, but wow that set really fell under the radar.
  17. You should pick them up if you have the chance. They have the best scale of any release. Also the engines on every X-Wing since has been really ugly. The details, build, and scale have not been matched since imo. And don’t even bring up 2013 I may start to cry, lol. Maybe not a great army builder, but an amazing set regardless! I’ll take what I can get, this wave is bad lol.
  18. Might be an unpopular opinion but I haven't liked an X Wing or Tie Fighter set since 2012. The 2012 X-Wing and Tie Fighter (both of which I bought upon release) have the best scale in my opinion, at $80 each, they both had an adequate size. I feel the new iterations have been too small. I have no interest in mix and matching the wings and cockpits and find it to be kind of a silly gimmick. But that was obviously not targeted for AFOLS. Still, none of the other X-Wings or Tie Fighters since 2012 have peaked my interest and I hope we return to that scale someday. I also have no interest in original Lego characters produced for this theme. Everything about the set is a hard pass. That being said, the Mandalorian sets are carrying this upcoming wave. The Mandalorian Night Owl is easily the best figure coming up, and the price is alluring too. At just $20, Ambush on Mandalore is one of the best battle packs we've had in a while. Paz Vizla vs Off Gideon looks cool too. The structure is given great detail, thanks to the lack of side build. We got a structure that feels fleshed out and bulky. And its only 40 bucks. Plus the figures are amazing. Besides the 2 Mandalorian sets, the rest of the wave feels lame. Buildable droids? Alternate universe original sets? X-Wing mech? X-Wing and Tie Fighter with interchangeable wings and cockpits? Color me cynical, but these ideas feel tacky, unnecessary, and ridiculous. Comparing this to the 2013 Summer wave where we got an AT-TE, Dual on Geonosis, Homing Spider Droid, the Cad Bane set, a Jango Fett mini figure, or even last years Sumer wave where we got the T-6 Jedi Shuttle, a new Ghost, the Ahsoka sets in general. This feels like a very weak Summer wave. Like easily top 3 weakest summer waves of the past 10 years. Definitely the weakest of the 2020's. It's mostly so bad. But the Captain Rex figure in a cheap mighty micro is a nice touch. Dare I say amazing. Shoutout to the 3 good sets in this wave, lol.
  19. Okay so maybe the name is kind of dumb but I love this set. I really wanted this Iron Man the first time he popped up but I hated the set he came in. That had to be the ugliest hulk buster we’ve ever gotten and we already had comic accurate Thanos in his mech. Being able to skip the ugly Hulk mech and the ugly Hulk Buster set and getting the best figures from both sets for just $15 is such a steal. Who cares if there’s no antagonists, 2 amazing figures and a decent build for $15 is a catch for me. If you didn’t skip out on the Hulkbuster and Hulk mech, you may not understand. But for people like me who missed out on both figures because the sets they came in were ugly, this relatively appealing build with both figs is exciting. The name is dumb but I’m not keeping the box anyways, so this is cool to me.
  20. Now that the car mode pictures are out, I can safely say he looks much better as a robot. It’ll probably be fun transforming him, but the visible black from the underside, and the blockiness of the door frames are kind of off putting. I know from a technical standpoint, it was bound to happen, but he looks so awkward as a car. Really like his robot mode, though.
  21. No you got it right the first time! I'm asking for a mini figure of Optimus Prime, a mini fig of Bumblebee, a mini fig of Arcee, etc. As you mentioned, the figures would be great for a potential Cybertron set! Might sound crazy but I would even enjoy a Transformers CMF line.
  22. I agree on the pose-ability of the Gerudo being an issue with the mini dolls, I just felt the silhouette of the Gerudo were very reminiscent of the mini dolls, but even as figures I would be quick to grab a Gerudo Fortress set lol. As for the Goron, I still think the big figs would be a solid way to display how bulky they are. They may not be too much taller, but they are very bulky. So long as they're not regular mini figures, we should be good. I'm just so excited to see where this theme goes in general.
  23. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would love to get the Gerudo as mini dolls. Unlike most people I actually love the mini dolls, and feel they would accurately represent the silhouette of the Gerudo in Ocarina of Time, and to a lesser extent, Breath of the Wild. The Friends line has recently introduced a pant piece, the bell bottoms piece Paisley wears, which I feel would be perfect for Gerudo clothing. The use of mini dolls I feel, could really extenuate the stylistic differences between the Hylian races. Big figs for the Gorons, mini dolls for the Gerudo, and mini figures for the Hylians and Rito. Maybe its just me but I would love that.
  24. Yes! But even if he had a white or black tuxedo, it is almost unheard of to get arm printing for figures with tuxedos, but in a CMF we can get the printed sleeves and buttons that nearly all tuxedos have. From the rare arm detailing, to the new ring with diamond mould, to the potential new mould for the legs on one knee, he could absolutely be made to be very unique. As you said, we could also get him with cake on his face, or a smoochy kissy face for the moment he says I do. He could absolutely be made to be unique. My point of reference is Gollum from Lotr, he is one single mould, with his legs being on one knee. if we just get the legs on one knee, like the lower half of Gollum, that would be epic. Imagine a new leg mould, new ring mould, and exclusive face print with arm printing? That sounds much more exciting than half of Series 19 imo, lol. I actually had a thought about an entire line for this. Flower Girl - Mid sized legs, potentially new basket mould, and a bouquet of flowers Ring Boy - If the groom only introduces the new ring mould and new leg mould, the ring boy can introduce the new ring box mould in which said ring can fit inside of The figure itself may be rather plain, but provides an opportunity for the ring box to be introduced Bridesmaid - New hair piece is certainly an opportunity here, but a chance to get a gorgeous dress piece is also very exciting. Hope its more understated and not too busy with the details, though Of course these are just my opinions, but I'd love to see it Do you remember the invasion From Below Hero Factory sets? Do you also remember the mini fig scaled Bionicle sets? I would love to get mini fig scaled Bionicle figures in a CMF line. Getting a figure scaled Tahu in a CMF is a dream of mine. Gali is also a personal favorite. Then we also have the long awaited Basketball player. We also have yet to get Hermes or Hades in a CMF! Hades should come with a bident, a new beard mould, and either the cap of invisibility, the cornucopia, or both. Hermes can have the cap of invisibility as well, but given he typically is depicted with shorter hair than Hades, I don't think they should share the same mould. Now having said that, imagine a CMF with a new color for a fairy, preferably yellow or red, Hermes, a basketball player, Tahu, a blue unlicensed Power Ranger, the Groom and a Bridesmaid, a Taco Suit guy, a juggler, and a Blacktron soldier..... I would throw money at that.
  25. Maybe it is too soon, sure. But the War Machine mech was so disapointing I just really hope we eventually get a classic War Machine whether in a set or a mech. God that mech was so disappointing for me. And on that note, I had no idea the Iron Man in set 76263 was comic based and I kind of want this set now for that figure alone. No idea what that Thanos is based off of though, looking at reference images he's not quite comic based, or MCU based. The angular gold plate on his chest is more reminiscent of the comics, but the set is labeled Infinity Saga. Maybe they labelled it that so it would be more in line with the other sets it released with? Either way, I'm getting the vibe that both figures are more on the comic side, which I love. Having said that, the mech itself is too ugly. But when the figures are that good should I even care?
