LEGO 40530 - Jane Goodall - Rumors & Discussions
The Stud replied to Lion King's topic in LEGO Licensed
Looks great. I’ve never owned a Lego Monkey before so I’m excited to try and get this; it’ll go great with the Amelia Earhart promo I got last year. Seems like I know when I’m (finally) getting the Disney Castle now.- 87 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It’s funny, I was wanting an AT-TE and play-scale Republic Gunship for the longest time, and now that we’re finally getting the former and MAYBE getting the latter, I’m not as excited as I would have been a few years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll definitely get them if they come into fruition, I’m just more interested in sets based off newer content right now. -
Disney Properties 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Soupperson1's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was considering just buying the keychain as well, but as a Lego purist, I’d feel like I’d be cheating a little by using a keychain minifig that has some slight differences to a traditional one. And I know from experience that the printing on those come off extremely easily. I’ll just wait and see if they release a good Goofy fig this summer. As for getting Disney Series 3 next year, I think that it’s certainly possible. I was pretty surprised that we didn’t get it this year since it’s been three years since Series 2, which came out three years after Series 1, but The Muppets is a Disney property after all, so it works out. My theory is that we’re going to get three Licensed series next year so Lego can go back to matching the non-licensed series number and the year by holding off on Series 24 until 2024. By that logic, we’d have a potential Disney Series 3 and then two other Licensed, or somehow otherwise non-numbered, series next year. I would be shocked if Lego wasn’t working to get a Marvel Series 2 going after how successful the first one was. (I don’t think I’ve ever seen a CMF sell out so fast and be so hard to get at first besides, well, Disney series one maybe). Lego would probably want to space out two Disney related series by putting in 2023’s hypothetical third Licensed series in between them, likely based on a new property. I guess we’ll have to wait and see though. -
Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I dig the new Thor figure. I know people have mixed feelings on the costume, but I’m happy to be getting something different here. Thor’s outfits have looked very similar in most of the MCU movies so far so I’m glad to get something different and unique here. I don’t care if it does look a bit similar to Ikaris’s costume, especially since I forgot about The Eternals within a week of me watching the film. I’ve already gotten sick of Thor’s smiling face print from last year though. And a D2C Sanctum!? That sounds awesome! I’m skeptical of the “rumored” minfigure list as it seems less solid than the existence of the set itself. I imagine we’ll get at least one version of Strange, plus new versions of Mordo and Wanda here at least. I’m hoping the minifig selection is entirely based on MOM. I already have the 2018 Sanctum, but if this one is on par with last year’s Daily Bugle (which I still need to get) then I’ll be happy to pick this one up, though probably not right away. Though if the $500 set does turn out to be Avengers Tower, I’ll probably end up just using the 2018 Sanctum and 2020 Avengers Tower as spare parts sadly. It’s funny how I was saving room on my shelf with the Sanctum for when I get the new Gargantos set, but looks like I might be replacing the Sanctum itself anyway lol. My wallet’s bummed about this news, however. I was planning on prioritizing Lego Star Wars, as well as catching up on the Star Wars comics, this year. Ninjago was more of my priority for the first half of last year, with Marvel mostly being my priority for the second half. I guess that’s just the life of a Lego fan. -
Nah, it’s one of my favorites as well. It’s right up there with Casual Lloyd and some of the DOTD suits for me as best Ninjago figure.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
The Stud replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I said a while ago that she looked like a gender swapped Captain Planet with the hair and skin color. My theory is that the figure’s paying homage and is supposed to be a generic 80’s/90’s cartoon heroine. To me, she looks like someone who’d fit right in with He-Man or She-Ra. (Not that I grew up in that era with those characters mind you.) I dig the design honestly, I have most of my CMFs on display on my wall and she’ll really stand out once I make a display for my Series 22 figures. Which is a shame because those bios were all so charming and filled with interesting “lore”. I remember reading through all those bio entires on Lego.com when I was younger and thought it was so cool when I’d learn that Series X character knew of this Series Y or Z character. Also, I think Series 22 is the fastest series I’ve completed on my own in my time Lego collecting, not including instances where I just ordered or received a complete set without feeling any packs. I got all twelve figures by the end of January, which I took a little pride in. -
Giant Freaking Robot is an awful site that throws out a bunch of fake rumors. Don’t believe any “rumor” they put out. The only way this would ever happen is if Disney ends up with the Lego film rights.

I’m not a big fan of the premise to be honest. Ironically, it sounds very familiar to the bland Playmobil movie that came out a couple years ago. It also sounds more like a made-for-TV special than a feature film, but we’ll see. I just feel that Warner Bros had lightning in a bottle with their Lego films and I have doubts that Universal will be able to capture that. Sure, WB’s four films ranged in quality, but I still really enjoyed all four. I could be wrong though; maybe this movie will end up being on par. Fingers crossed I suppose.

Same here. I desperately want a Lego Ghost and if OP releases instructions for this, then I just might have to use those.
-
Sure as hell felt like it. The last few years have felt like an eternity, yet I question how we’re already in the year 2022? I’m not even a huge Stranger Things fan, but I own the Upside Down set and would be interested if Lego did another, similar set to it. I’d probably have to hold off on it until next year though, I already have a lot of my Lego budget for this year planned out and my wallet is already displeased with me.

Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Honestly, this is one of the most boring Lego sets I’ve seen in a while. It is the epitome of mediocrity. -
Holy crap, I cannot believe that it’s been three years since the Lego set and Stranger Things Season 3.

They said probably so I guess it could have been speculation, but I think that they’re just reaching the logical conclusion that this anniversary is why Lego would be doing multiple AOTC sets this summer, even if they don’t directly acknowledge it. I know that sets take a while to design, I’m questioning how we’d know about it so far in advance if it wasn’t coming in one of the next few waves. It’s not too early for Lego to start designing it if it were a 2023 release but it would be too early for us to know about it. -

I believe Promobricks themselves said that the set is meant to coincide with the anniversary. Besides, why else would Lego all of a sudden be releasing multiple sets for what is arguably one of the less popular movies with so much new content coming out? I don’t see us not getting an AT-TE this August, not just because of the anniversary this summer but also because how else would we know that Lego is making an AT-TE so soon in advance if it wasn’t coming this summer? As @QuiggoldsPegLeg pointed out, it can’t be a September or October set, and I highly doubt we’d know about a 2023 set this early. -

To make it even worse, the custom figure barely even looks like Danny Trejo in my opinion. This was a crappy move on their part. Now that we know the N-1 is for sure $60 and not $70, I'm feeling pretty okay on the price. It'll probably be very easy to find for $48 in the US. Chances are that I'll still get it from the Lego Store though, I'm trying to rack up those VIP points to get the Star Destroyer before it retires. -

That’s true, I guess they could throw in some Pykes for good measure for the Biker and Rancor to fight against. I don’t know how Lego Danny Trejo would factor in though. Also on JB’s Instagram is the Kenobi poster, in between their two stories of their Rancor. Could mean we’re getting solid confirmation that we’re getting at least one set this summer. (Which was already a safe guess, I’m hoping for more than one though.) -

The News thread lists 75339 as a $90 set that might release in May. I think there’s also a $40 mystery one as well if they go on the smaller side. I mean, if you don’t like it, you don’t like it. It is what it is. I personally do like it, however, because I feel that the set looks like a fun, detailed build and does a good job at representing the ship. The set looks a bit messy but the ship was a cobbled-together hotrod built in a Tatooine garage. It works for me. I like that we’re getting some new characters as minifigs, and I’ve already decided to get every set from the Disney+ shows (besides the helmets) so I have to get this. If this happens, I’ll pretty much be content with with TBOBF sets and minifigs. (I want Lego Cobb Vanth but we’re definitely getting more of that character down the line so I’m not too worried about getting him ASAP. I still think his speeder is an easy $30 set Lego could throw into a random wave.) Mando’s N-1 and something with a Rancor were the only other things from the show besides the Palace that I could realistically see us getting as sets, and now we seem to be getting both. I guess there’s those Vespas too, but I REALLY hope Lego doesn’t prioritize those over literally anything from Kenobi, Andor, The Bad Batch or Fallen Order. I didn’t particularly hate them as much as other people, but with so much Star Wars content coming out, TBOBF is probably the last property I’d want to see more than three sets for, especially an additional one with those meme vehicles. -
These petitions never accomplish anything. The only vote Lego would care about in this instance is the kind made with a wallet.

I’m not sure what you mean? Several of the last few messages, including one of my own, have been saying good things about Solo, an unappreciated Star Wars film. It’s far better than other places online where you’re roasted alive for saying anything good about the sequels or a lot of the post-Disney content in general. Most of the criticizing going on has to do with the Lego N-1 set anyway. -

I wasn’t into Star Wars when TFU came out but from what I’ve seen of it, I’m not a huge fan. I prefer the idea of Vader leading the Inquisitorious rather than an apprentice and Cal Kestis is a better representation of the skill level of an average Jedi. Regardless, they both tell very different stories and Fallen Order is one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars content from the last few years! Also, your comment about the prices of the Mandalorian Starfighter and Bad Batch Shuttle are very interesting because it seems to be the opposite here! The Mandalorian Fighter is easy to find on sale, while The Bad Batch Shuttle has never gone for less than full price. I think this just means that there’s only two sets that we currently know will include the new BD mold: this set and the buildable BD-1, which is a Fallen Order set. I would be shocked if that’s the only one we get, though we may not get anymore in this wave. (I’m still keeping fingers crossed for The Mantis as one of the unknown sets.) I absolutely agree with you. I liked the Sequels, or at least Episodes 7 and 8, but Solo is probably my favorite of the newer films. Alden did a fantastic job playing a young Han Solo before becoming the jaded, experienced scoundrel we all know and love. The criticisms about all the big events from Han’s backstory happening in the same weekend are valid, but I still think the movie is a ton of fun. It’s honestly my favorite Star Wars movie just to rewatch or have on as background noise. It’s also my favorite Star Wars film after the OT, unless I’m including The Siege of Mandalore like you mentioned. Now that we’re seeing pictures of a June set (unless the rumors/speculation that this thing will actually be releasing at Lego Stores in March end up being true), I hope we see the May Quote sets soon. -

I definitely recommend the game. While it might not be the most unique Star Wars story, it was still very good and had me super invested. I devoured through the game super fast and it’s one of the few games I’ve ever gone for the full 100%. It’s also just a very fun game with some cool locations. Back to the N-1 discussion, I can’t help but wonder if the box for this set is going to use TBOBF branding like the Palace or The Mandalorian branding like the Dark Trooper Attack. Also, if Lego does include a Krrsantan figure in a future set, I hope that he looks better than the Black Series one that just got revealed. It’s awful. -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don’t think we’ll see any Indy 5 sets until 2023. Kinda like how Lego had to delay the sets for the new Jurassic World movie from last year to this year. Side-note, but it’s surreal to me that so many of the different properties I’ve been dying to see in Lego form are finally coming in the next year or two. Mainly Indiana Jones and Jedi: Fallen Order, but also The Muppets and The Office. This is such a great time to be a fan of licensed Lego themes. -

I’m a little surprised to see Lego starting with more higher priced sets right off the bat, but I guess I shouldn’t be. Adults are primarily who will be buying these. I’m predicting that 75574 will be the Temple Escape remake. The most expensive set will surely be based on the most iconic scene. -

Well, that was fast. I’m surprised to see some of the meh reactions here; I think the model looks fantastic. It’s clear that it’s supposed to be an N-1 but it’s distinct and isn’t just a boring recolor. There is all sorts of fine detailing, though I do think it’s weird that Lego is back to doing a large, detailed-yet-overpriced starfighter again after rescaling the ships last year. Yeah, the price sucks, especially compared to my 2015 fighter, but that topic has been well-covered in this thread so that’s all I’ll say about it. I’m still getting the set regardless. I don’t feel like this was the best hair piece they could’ve used for Peli Motto, but the figure is pretty good otherwise. I could always use another Mando and Grogu, though the render of Din’s visor looks weird again, and it looks like he has a brown head piece? I doubt the figure will actually be any different. The BD droid looks good, but something feels off about it. Maybe it’s the molded inverse stud between the legs? I also think that it looks way too tall next to a figure. If and when we finally get a Cal Kestis figure, he’s going to look short next to BD-1. The lack of posability also kinda sucks, as that means we won’t be able to easily have BD on his back. Oh well, I’m still excited for the set regardless. Like I said the other day, the only other things I want from TBOBF in Lego form are a Rancor, as well as Krrsantan and Cobb Vanth figures. Besides that, I’d be happy with Lego moving on to doing sets from the other shows, which all seem to be a lot better.
