  1. Just out of curiosity, why? The show looks pretty cool and I think it’s great to see so many characters making the jump from animation to live-action, even if I have mixed feelings about how the GI and Fifth Brother look. Anyway, I think both these sets look great. They’re two of the sets I was already planning to get on August 1st funnily enough, so it’s great to see them early. (I assume that these were supposed to be revealed as part of their weekly Kenobi merchandise reveals or at Celebration on Friday.) Though it doesn’t look quite as sleek as I’d prefer, the Jedi Starfighter looks decently better than the one that came with the Hyperdrive Ring in 2017. I actually have that set but since I have that one connected to the ring, I don’t feel too bad getting this small set to display on its own. The figure selection here helps make that decision; it’s great! I love the updated AOTC Obi-Wan with the robes and especially because he doesn’t have the headset on both face prints. Including an extra hood piece is a really nice touch as well. While there are better hair pieces out there, I’m kind of okay with Lego continuing to use this one for this version of Kenobi. Taun We looks fantastic as well, it makes me bummed that we’re not getting Nala Se or Lama Su figures this year. Even R4 looks slightly updated from the last two sets I got him in. The Inquisitor Scythe ship looks absolutely fantastic. I love the design, with it looking like if Krennic and Kylo Ren’s respective shuttles had a baby. It looks like a decent size too, especially on the box art, so it seems like a pretty reasonable set for $100 in all honesty. The figures are pretty awesome as well. Ben Kenobi looks pretty sweet here with the new hairpiece, he honestly kinda looks like Cal Kestis. The Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother look fantastic here, which is kinda ironic given the mixed reactions their live-action looks have garnered. Really my only disappointment with either of these sets is the Reva minifigure. She seems to be pretty prominent in the series, but didn’t get leg printing like her companions, and that is a terrible hairpiece for her. The Fennec Shand hairpiece (which is ironically a bad hairpiece for Fennec Shand) would work much better here. Otherwise, this is a great set! Also, I’ve said this before but I really like the new box art style for Lego Star Wars this year. I especially love how they’re doing different characters in the corners of the boxes for the different subthemes. (Vader for the saga films, a 332nd Trooper for TCW sets, Mando and Grogu for The Mandalorian sets, Boba and Fennec for TBOBF sets, and now Kenobi and Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi sets.) I don’t like that new, obnoxious 7/9+ circle for these sets though. So far, the summer wave for Lego Star Wars is looking great!
  2. I doubt the theme will end but I have a strong feeling that we’re going to get a significant reboot, maybe with the ninja finally aged up and possibly training the next generation. Anyway, while I’ve ultimately decided to use my money towards other things than this summer’s wave, I’m really loving the season so far! I’m left wanting more, which I consider a good sign.
  3. I doubt it, there was a lot of controversy the last time. Maybe we’ll get another one-per-box situation like the Classic Police Man or Percival Graves but I personally doubt it. I’m excited to see Series 23; I’ve been really into the CMFs as of late and there’s a lot they can do with it.
  4. Oh yeah, good point about us possibly getting Looney Tunes or Muppets series 2. It’d be probably be too soon for the latter but if we can get a second Simpsons series, I’m sure we could get another Looney Tunes one. The first one seemed to sell well enough and I think there will have been enough time between the first series and a potential second series next year. I would be surprised if we didn’t get Marvel Series 2 next year honestly. The first series sold very well and they still haven’t covered Hawkeye or Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel and She Hulk are coming up soon. Compared to Star Wars, Lego seems hesitant to make actual sets based off the Marvel shows (there’s not a lot of set material in their defense though) so I hope they fast-track another CMF series so we get stuff from those shows. Fingers crossed for Disney Series 3 as well. I love the first two series and would love another one. I believe the Disney Castle is due for retirement this year (good thing I got it during the last Double VIP promotion…) so if we’re getting a replacement Disney Park D2C next year, another CMF series would be logical.
  5. Honestly, I’d say there’s a good chance. Looney Tunes and Muppets both seemed pretty unlikely to me at first, but now it seems like Lego is going for one nostalgic kids show or cartoon series each year. And with my theory that we’re getting three licensed series in 2023 (since we’re already getting Series 23 in 2022), there’s a decent chance. The Sesame Street set seems to have sold well but there’s not much else to do with the license set-wise now, kinda like Friends. I’m sure they could come up with twelve desirable characters for a series, I’m just unsure how they could differentiate from the figures we already got from the Sesame Street set. Sesame Street, Hanna Barbera and Dreamworks are my guesses for the next CMF series based on a new license.
  6. I missed out on the 2018 Coaster, so I definitely want to get this one at some point. It’s funny how I’m not a huge rollercoaster person in real life, but I’ve always wanted a Lego one. Hopefully this set turns out nice; it should go well with the 2015 Ferris Wheel and the previous Rollercoaster and make for a nice amusement park.
  7. My interest in The Flash has massively dissipated, but this sounds like a cool set. I’m hoping the Batmobile design isn’t too different from the 1989 one and that Lego doesn’t cheap out and uses that ‘89 cowl from the D2C’s. (Though that may make it difficult for Bats to sit down.) I have to imagine that the set will include something else to use up that piece count and price, as Keaton’s Batmobile isn’t as big and bulky as the Tumbler, which is set at a similar price point. I’m not really a DCEU fan but it’d be cool to get a new Batfleck and his motorcycle here. I’d also like Supergirl, but for now, I’m just guessing that we’re going to get Keaton Batman and The Flash.
  8. I’ve been to like ten stores over the past week and none of them had any Muppets CMFs. I’m only missing Fozzie at this point so I just ordered him off of Bricklink, and threw in a couple CMFs I’m missing from Series 20.
  9. David Hall (Solid Brix Studios) posted a really nice modification to the set that I might recreate myself whenever I get my copies. It looked closer in size to the 2017 one, might be worth looking into.
  10. I’d imagine the Sanctum could still be classified as a MoM set, kinda like those two smaller “No Way Home” sets from last year. I think that if the $500 set is Avenger’s Tower (which at this point, I think it’s either going to be the Tower or maybe a Helicarrier remake), they can go with either the Infinity Saga or Legacy branding. I think MoM would have been a very different film had it released first, so even if Lego had gotten any concept art then, it would largely be irrelevant now.
  11. Not a leg piece, but it was really common to get an extra of Cole’s hairpiece with The Temple of Ultimate Ultimate Weapon from the Ninjago Movie a couple years ago.
  12. I concur about Costco having great deals. Not only did I get two of the Palace for $60 each, I got two of the Dark Trooper Attack for $18 each. I’m really hoping Mando’s N-1 will show up there. I think I’ve gradually liked the set less and less over time and I would really like to get a discount on it. Another interesting observation I had about this wave is the lack of Skywalker characters besides Vader.
  13. I'm surprised that it's not a U-Wing remake. It's close in price to the original, I'm sure the ship will show up in the show and I think there's decent demand for a remake. I'm excited to see how it turns out regardless! If my battle pack idea from the wishlist thread pans out next year (which I think is somewhat possible), we could get the Crab Droid as an enemy to fight in a 212th Battle Pack. It's hard for me to pick between the AT-TE and the two Kenobi sets. On one hand, I've wanted a Lego AT-TE for years and this version in particular sounds like it's great for army building (except for the price obviously). Whereas on the other hand, I'm very excited for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the figures and builds here sound cool and I have also been very focused on collecting every Star Wars/Disney+ set. I'm also somewhat excited for the BD-1 just because I've been wanting Lego to do Fallen Order sets for years, though I'd be more excited if it were The Mantis and came with minifigures though. These updated rumors sound very exciting for the most part! The people that have been crying for Commander Cody are finally getting him, and I'm excited too. For so long, I've been wanting a new Phase Two helmet mold that allows for attachments and now we're getting it. I think this greatly increases the chances of getting a new Rex figure in 2023, who is the clone figure I've been wanting more, and maybe an updated Crosshair as well. In that same line of thinking, I think the fact that we're getting an Inquisitor ship with three Inquisitors makes the chances of us getting the Second Sister in a set far more likely, especially because we're going to have Fallen Order represented in Lego form now. The minifigure selection in these Kenobi sets sound very good as well, though it'd be nice to get more than just four figures in that $100 set. There are no repeats as far as we can tell besides Vader possibly, though I do still hope we get a new version of him with the red lenses on the helmet. I'm also amazed by all the troopers coming with the AT-TE. Three new 212 troopers and a gunner is fantastic. I'm actually pretty surprised that Lego isn't including another named character besides Cody. The minifigure selection for Cad Bane's Ship sounds about how I expected except for the lack of another Kaminoan figure. It's a bit of a bummer as it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so and as it stands, the set is seeming more and more steep for the price. Only four figures, two of which are repeats, and a droid for an overpriced spaceship does not sound very good. This will definitely be one I try to get a discount on as I do still want it. I'm also interested to see Promobricks also mention that they've heard that we're possibly getting a UCS Razor Crest this year. I've been calling it for a while now, so I'd be happy for it to come true, though it'll likely be a while before I get it. All in all, good job Lego!
  14. I found a box worth at both Target and Kohl's yesterday and decided to try and get a complete set on a whim. I wasn't even planning on buying the series until later this summer but I saw them there, I decided to treat myself as this is my last week of my first year of college (I've been using that excuse quite a bit recently lol.) I got 12 packs and got 11/12 of the figures; I got an extra Waldorf somehow. I could not find many Fozzies at either store. I thought I felt something similar to the banana piece in a pack at some point but I guess I must have forgotten Fozzie came with one. Looks like I'll have to go back out to hunt for that one sometime in the next couple days. Of the figures I got, Kermit's easily my favorite as I really like the character but as a minifigure, I think I like Gonzo the best. There's so much detailing and I love the head mold. This was a very small issue, but am I the only to have noticed some very minor paint misapplications and specks on their figures in this series? There's not enough for me to contact customer service or anything, but it was something I noticed. The difference between the thickness of Beaker's lab coat between the legs and torso was also a little disappointing for me. Otherwise, I really like this series!
  15. You’re legitimately acting like a child right now and are derailing the whole conversation so you can pout about something that didn’t even happen, but go off I guess. As for the Sanctum, the figure selection doesn’t really bother me much. Yeah, it’s kinda weird that four of the five figures from the previous Sanctum will be here too, albeit some in different outfits. I’m curious how Lego is going to do the box art since the set’s inspired by two different films. It also would have been nice to get more MoM figures, but having just seen the movie this past afternoon, the only non-spoilery figure I can think of being particularly desirable is the Minotaur dude. That would have been a great way to reuse the CMF Minotaur piece. Feels like a bit of a waste to not do the Iron Spider suit here though, seeing as how it was so prominently featured in the marketing for NWH. The IW figure doesn’t really satisfy me (dual molded legs, different colored eyes and a darker shade of red closer to the Iron Man figures would be preferable) but in retrospect, I think the blue on the previous Stark Suit figure was too dark so maybe they’ll have the chance to fix that here at least.
  16. Meh, we’re most likely going to see the sets in the next few weeks anyway. I’m not that worried about any more “scoops” or leaks at the moment. People in the comments were definitely over reacting about them not posting this article, but still, I don’t really understand why they weren’t just transparent and simply communicated that it wasn’t coming yesterday.
  17. Promobricks deleted their countdown and haven’t posted since so who knows?
  18. We’re supposed to be getting two Kenobi-series sets and the Brickheadz which may also be Kenobi-based. The two playsets are supposed to be The Scythe ($100) and a Kenobi vs. Vader set ($50), and we don’t know much about the Brickheadz. The Brickheadz could be based on the show, Episode 4 or maybe even Episode 3, and they were reported to be coming out this month, so hopefully we get a clear answer soon. I honestly think Promobricks could be teasing confirmation that Cody will be in tbe AT-TE. Why else would they try to build up the hype when the set is otherwise pretty easy to imagine? (The builds probably won’t be mind-blowing and the figures will probably be some battle droids, Obi-Wan and some 212th Troopers if it’s indeed Episode 3-based as they originally teased.)
  19. I think the high Inquisitor presence in this show (meaning that they’re bringing back that hilt mold) and the BD-1 set coming this summer definitely points to more Fallen Order sets on their way. Lego loves synergy between their products (i.e. Bo Katan and Ahsoka appear in Clone Wars sets last summer in a very Mandalorian-dominated wave) so I can definitely see Lego throwing the Second Sister in with The Mantis whenever we eventually get that. Also, I gotta say that I think the Grand Inquisitor looks MUCH better in this trailer. The lack of an elongated head bothers me less than the lack of Sith eyes so hopefully that changes.
  20. That’s one of the sets I was initially planning on getting for May the 4th. I think it’ll retire this year but I’m sure it will restock again and be available again before too long. Lego usually doesn’t really retire sets until the end of the year anyway. However, as someone who’s also eager about picking up that set, I won’t tell you not to try and pick it up! Also, happy May the 4th everyone!
  21. That was more of an assumption that me and a lot of other people were making. Lego has been going all in on anniversary waves for their evergreen themes in the last few years: Star Wars in 2019, Ninjago and Harry Potter (on a technicality) in 2021, and Friends in 2022. There’s also the fact that it’s been ten years since the first Avengers movie and technically twenty since the first Marvel sets with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.
  22. I just want some Avengers 2012 sets. A Quinjet, Leviathan and Loki's Chituari Chariot thingy would go perfectly with a D2C Stark/Avengers Tower, if that's what the $500 set ends up being. So far, the 10th anniversary of Lego Superheroes has been very lackluster imo (especially DC but that goes without saying), so hopefully Lego musters up some surprises for the second half of this year.
  23. Holo-Brick Archives is teasing news on Summer 2022 Lego Star Wars, so it looks like we can look forward to getting some news before Celebration after all. I just want to hear more about the minifigure selections at this point.
  24. I have some mixed feelings on the set. The Cons: It goes without saying, the price is lousy. Also, I don't understand what the point of updating the helmet mold was. I guess so that Lego can mix and match the mold between MCU and comic-inspired sets but I'm still not crazy about it. I have most of the MCU-styled suits, so I have mixed feelings on Lego changing the helmet mold altogether. I guess I'm not completely devastated about it since it adds some variety to all the different suits. Additionally, I think the lack of new suits in this set kinda sucks. I already have the Mark 3 and Mark 85 from last year's sets, and I guess I'm okay with having extras of those, but I would have much rather have gotten new suits here altogether. I guess I'll just use the extra Mark 3 with the modified helmet to fill Mark 4's space, they look similar enough. Lastly, I think it's annoying that Lego isn't staying completely consistent with the style of the previous Hall of Armor sets. I guess I'll just use this set as the ground floor. The Pros: While I'm not exactly a fan of Lego updating the helmet mold, I think the mold still looks good. I think the set itself looks fantastic, despite the inconsistency. This is far superior to the original Hall of Armor set, and more accurate too. I love the nice little extra touches like the Stark Expo board from Iron Man 2. The extra car looks like a Speed Champions set in of itself. Great touch! It's cool to finally get Whiplash for the first time, and I've never had a War Machine figure aside from the Iron Patriot. Overall, I like the set, despite my many gripes. Because of those gripes, this set is very low on my priority list. I'm waiting for a discount. So far, I haven't really been blown away by 2022 Marvel and I'm not really rushing to get anything, which is a bummer seeing as how I went all in on collecting Marvel sets and figures the past year or two.
  25. How about both? I like it honestly. The build looks good and the Awesome Mix tape is a nice inclusion; I'm not in a huge rush to get this one. I'll probably save it until next year, closer to when GOTG Volume 3 comes out.
