LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
The Stud replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Really, we could be seeing either leaks or official pictures anyday now. We already saw the March sets this time last year, but it’s possible that Lego might be holding off a bit this time around since three of these sets are tied to The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, so they might have to tie those reveals in with the show. -
Nice, that was one of the few Rogue One sets I missed and Chirrut is the only main character I’m missing from that movie. I’m pretty sure Lego only included one of those orange kyber crates in the Hovertank because the Battle on Scarif set that came out a few months later included one as well.

Just those three for now, but fingers crossed that Force Ghost Obi-Wan will be included as well. -
A Lego Vespa? Well, I’m glad to see Lego doing more sets for The Book of Boba Fett.

Looking back at the Summer 2021 rumor list from last spring, this year’s summer wave does look a fair amount larger. I suppose it makes sense: for starters, there’s the elephant in the room with COVID. Also, 2021 was a fairly small year for mainstream Star Wars all things considered. There was still The Bad Batch, Visions and lots of interesting stuff going on in the books/comics with The High Republic and War of the Bounty Hunters, as well as the first Boba Fett episode at the very tail end of the year, but I’d argue that most of those things were not particularly mainstream or viable for Lego products. Comparatively, this year looks pretty big for Star Wars, with 4-5 shows coming to Disney+, tons of announcements coming from the first Celebration in three years and a good amount of video game content with the long-awaited release of Lego TSS and rumors of Fallen Order 2 dropping at the end of the year or early on in 2023. Hopefully Lego capitalizes on some of that. I’m just trying to get everything from the D+ shows. Not only because I’ve really enjoyed them thus far, but also because we don’t know if Lego will ever go back and do more sets for them later on with so much new content coming out. That’s why I tried to get most of the anthology film sets (still missing a few sets from both Rogue One and Solo though) and why I regret not getting any of the Rebels sets when they were out, as Lego has never revisited those properties thus far. I’m someone who has really enjoyed the last two summer/fall waves for Lego Star Wars, so hopefully this year continues that trend! -

Great, thanks for the heads up! I’ll probably wait until I’m done with the semester to pick up a copy then! I can’t help but wonder if some of the sets we get this summer will include some of the characters from the game that either don’t exist at all in Lego form (like Cody or Babu Frik) or characters that haven’t been in sets in a while (such as Qui-Gon or just about any version of Padme.) Granted, with all the playable characters and all the delays of this game, it probably doesn’t necessarily mean anything. (Like I said a few pages ago, a good portion of those first sets from summer 2020 with TSS codes on them are already gone lol.) I’m just more interested in sets from the Disney+ shows, so no hurt feelings if this guess is way off lol. -

It makes sense. TROS had like five major planets that were traveled to. And TLJ and TROS have never been covered in a Lego game before, so there's a definite possibility that the developers put a special emphasis on those films. Does anyone know if you can only get the Blue Milk Luke polybag when you pre-order the game, or will it be included with the Deluxe Edition regardless? I'm trying to plan out when exactly I'm going to get the game since I still need to finish my The Complete Saga playthrough. -

Looks like my prediction was correct as well. I'm trying to collect all the Lego sets for the Marvel and Star Wars Disney+ shows, so while I was pretty likely to get this anyway, this just gives me extra incentive to! -

That would make more sense to me, but looks like the April date is confirmed! For all you Cody fans, he’s a playable character in the game. -

$530 is such a specific amount I have to imagine that it’s supposed to be a $350 set and they just switched a couple numbers around. It’d fit with the current $350 MBS set every two years patten. Also, a new picture of The Skywalker Saga Character Pack has shown up on the game’s pre-order page, showing Mando and Grogu, Jyn Erso and Hunter. And according to some dataminer, the game is due for April 5th, which I’m a bit skeptical about, but the sooner, the better in my eyes. Hopefully they ramp up promotion soon regardless. Also, am I the only one thinks it’s hilarious that by the time this game comes out, a good number of the Lego sets that promote TSS on the box (particularly the summer 2020 ones) will have retired already? -

I’d take a grain of salt with those shutdown rumors. Some people that supposedly know people working on set have claimed that the HR article is talking about a shutdown that already occurred earlier this month, not currently. I still think the movie’s production is cursed, but I wouldn’t lose all hope that the film is coming out this year. -

Since the other TBOBF set that we know about is coming out like three months later, I’m guessing that Lego had more material to work with for that set. And yes, the whole “Disney hates Slave/Huttslayer Leia and is censoring the outfit” narrative is definitely false. If I recall correctly, the whole “controversy” sprung from some parents complaining that there was a bunch of scantily-clad Leia figures clogging up the Star Wars toy section (like @jdubbs pointed to) and didn’t want such a toy to be presented to their children. It was super blown out of proportion. Lego does minifigures in swimsuits all the time; the only reason they haven’t done a new version of Leia in this outfit is because there’s been no new ROTJ Jabba’s Palace/Sail Barge sets in years. Anyway, I can’t wait to see these March sets. We should be seeing them anytime in the next few weeks. -

Usually, leaked figures don’t include cloth accessories like that, so the actual set may come with one. Really, the only other (feasible) sets I can think of for Mando Season Two are still Cobb Vanth’s Speeder and some of the larger Imperial ships like the Gozanti freighter or the troop lander (the latter of which which I find unlikely). Really, I don’t even think Cobb Vanth’s Speeder is too likely right now unless him and that vehicle show up again somewhere. It would be a nice way to get Tusken Boba though. Hopefully we still get a Mando version of Ahsoka somewhere though, since I’m sure she’ll have a new outfit for her own series. Those Dark Trooper play features actually sound pretty neat. I was thinking of making a MOC out of this scene using the parts and figures from this set but I might just go with the Lego version if it looks nice. And that Boba Fett Palace minifigure selection sounds pretty great. Lots of variety with aliens, most of which we haven’t gotten recent versions of. I hope Lego is still able to cover some of the actual TBOBF characters in the June set and any other ones we might get. -
Saw the Clone Trooper Command Station Accessory Set available on Shop@Home and ordered three. They’re on backorder of course but I didn’t want to risk missing out on them. I just need that Defense of Hoth pack to go on sale too so I can get a couple of that one too, and I’ll wait to get the Ahsoka Brickhead when I order those.

Maybe we’re just getting one Gamorrean? I remember there was some confusion about how many Dark Troopers would be coming with the Light Cruiser last year, and even some saying that Bo-Katan was coming in that set. That actually sounds kinda plausible. Re-uses of Boba and Fennec, possibly just one Gamorrean Guard (but maybe two), a new Bib Fortuna figure (who is the one who should actually have the Lekku piece) and then two of the extras which just got leaked: a Quarren and a Theelin (who the face, torso and legs of the other leaked figure should go with). -

Paul Seeley on IG pointed out that these two aliens in those specific outfits can be seen in that Mando Season 2 post credits scene. To me, that indicates that they’re largely basing this set off of that scene and maybe some early concept art for the actual TBOBF show. It’d make sense considering how secret this show was initially kept, and also explains how Lego is getting a set for a new show out so relatively fast compared to the Razor Crest or some of TCW Season 7 stuff for example. It’s also probably why the other rumored TBOBF set is coming in June instead of March with this set, or even in May. That set probably actually is based off something spoilery in this show. These figures just look too good and fitting with Lego’s style to be fake in my opinion. I’d think that if someone wanted to do a fake leak like this, they’d probably do a more interesting or recognizable character like Black Krrsantan. Two generic aliens isn’t exactly going to draw the attention a fake leaker craves. -

Wow, those figures look fantastic. Presumably they’re the two generic “bounty hunters” reportedly coming in Boba Fett’s Palace. The Bib Fortuna-esque lekku haven’t been represented in Lego form in 10 years and I don’t think we’ve ever gotten a Lego Quarren before so that’s exciting. It is a bit of a bummer that we aren’t getting Santy or even some of those bikers in this set, and I do worry about if Lego is going to be able to represent all the main characters from these Star Wars shows with so many of them coming out. (They’re doing a better job than Marvel at least, which only got a CMF series, two mediocre What If? sets and it unfortunately seems likely that they’re going to skip Hawkeye and a lot of stuff from this year.) I’m really looking forward to seeing what the final set looks like though. -
71033 LEGO Muppets CMF Series - Rumors & Discussion
The Stud replied to Borex's topic in LEGO Licensed
Regardless if we get a Sesame Street series, the release of a Muppets series (along with the recent “Rocco” meme and my early childhood love for the show) has moved up the Sesame Street Ideas set on my want list. That could be a really cool display with the set and all these Muppets figures side-by-side. I just hope the reveal of this series isn’t a case like the Looney Tunes last year where we had seen several leaked images for a while before Lego finally revealed them 1+ month later and acted like they were a big surprise. While they were being super slow at revealing those figures (because I think that they only revealed a few at a time and kept posting about it), everyone was already focused on the next series at the time: Marvel. -

I could see us getting an indirect tie-in at the very least. I think it’s very possible that they rerelease some of the figures from the recent Benatar if we get another Marvel Advent Calendar this year, and then maybe include some exclusive variants. (Ideally ones based off the special specifically.) -

I would guess 2023 for a new Falcon since the TROS Falcon is still around and kicking. It’ll probably retire this year since it’s been around for so long at this point. Plus that’d give us a good 3-4 years in between Falcons, which would be refreshing compared to when we constantly were getting new versions when all the new movies were releasing. I don’t think this is what the $160 set will be, but the Mantis from Jedi: Fallen Order would be great, especially with the sequel game reported to be coming late 2022/early 2023. Something like that little robot build with the Robot Repair Tech figure would work for BD-1 if Lego doesn’t want to make a new mold. -

I honestly can’t really think of any D2C ideas. I feel like most of the temples and locations can be pretty well captured in a regaular large playset and it’s not like there’s any large iconic vehicles to release a giant version of like Star Wars, Ghostbusters or Back to the Future. -

Yeah, his credibility has definitely taken a hit with those fake Rex/Cody and CMF rumors. There’s a recent list of NWH Wave 2 Funko POPs circulating so I wouldn’t lose hope in more Lego sets yet. This is a big year for Lego Marvel and the Spider-Man IP in general, I’m sure they won’t screw this up. We just have to be patient. It took them a while to pump out sets for Mando Season Two, and that was a similar case to NWH where there were rumors and leaks of beloved legacy characters returning that did not show up in promo material. -

Honestly, with how expensive this year is going to be for me Lego-wise, my wallet would be okay with another Falcon. I don’t think that’s what it’ll be though as I have to imagine that Lego would want to make it a little smaller to scale with the newer starfighters. Generally though, I’d prefer like an Echo Base playset or something from the Disney+ shows.
