  1. Ever since this trend of black 18+ boxes has started, I’ve been wondering if next year’s modular building will follow suit. Will Lego bump it up to 18+ and get rid of the typical blue boxes that all of the other Modular buildings have had? Or will they keep it at the usual 16+ range and keep the classic packaging? Most D2Cs have just become 18+, but Diagon Alley hasn’t and I’m not sure if there’s been any exceptions. I know this is an arbitrary thing, but what do all of you think?
  2. Love that new Lloyd figure! I really like seeing a variation on his TLNM hairpiece and the rugged look is a unique spin. It reminds me of the Hunted suits.
  3. Ah yes, so we can recreate this video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C6ju2-IjWhs
  4. I loved Sesame Street when I was very young and while I most likely won’t be picking this set up, I still think it looks gorgeous. I love the use of vibrant colors and the minifigures in this set are spot-on interpretations of the characters. The stickers also had a lot of personality here. I love the Steamboat Willie set, but it’s astounding to me that the price difference between that set and this one is only $30 USD. You just get so much more here. If I do end up getting Sesame Street, I’ll probably use up my VIP Points like I did on Steamboat Willie. I also agree with the criticisms about the box. The boring black void for all of these 18+ sets has gotten old fast, though I do appreciate the green borders for this set in particular. I also think it’s weird that the age range for this set is 18+, but not Diagon Alley? I imagine the builds are more or less the same in terms of complexity and function, plus it’ll most likely be adults buying and building both of these sets (for the most part) so I don’t understand the discrepancy here.
  5. I haven’t really been into Ninjago since the first Legacy wave came out but this new Ninjago City Gardens might be what brings me back in! In my opinion, Ninjago City is one of the greatest Lego sets of all time. $500 is a lot, and while it may not be as much of a steal as its original retail price, I’d say the value is still there. If you can some adjustments to your budget, then I’d say it’s worth it!
  6. In the last month I’ve gotten the most Star Wars sets I’ve gotten in a while. Some of these were purchases and some were birthday gifts. -Duel on Bespin (I actually stayed up until midnight to acquire this one as soon as it was available.) -Boba Fett Helmet (basically got it for free thanks to VIP Points.) -Star Destroyer Keychain (Only got it because the Boba helmet was literally $0.01 less than the amount of VIP Points I had so I had to add something else to my cart...) -Galaxy’s Edge Resistance IT-S Transport -Bantha and T-16 Skyhopper Microfighters -Razor Crest I still need to get the Advent Calendar and that’ll probably be it for my Lego spending this year, except for maybe The Child and some Harry Potter stuff.
  7. This new figure is a definite improvement over the previous McGonagall from 2018.
  8. I have a strong attachment to Benny’s spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! I was never able to get the larger Lego sets growing up, so this was the first “big” set I ever received. Since then, I’ve gotten many big sets over the years but I have a soft spot for this one. It was a much simpler time back in 2014 and I suppose that this set represents that era of my life to me. A more obvious reason as to why I care about this set so much is my love for The Lego Movie itself. Not only is it my favorite animated movie of all time, it’s legitimately one of my favorite movies in general. I loved all of the characters, but Benny was one of the standouts for me. The scene where he finally builds his spaceship is one of my favorite little moments in the film. Naturally, I wanted to have this spaceship in my life too. (I was disappointed that Benny didn’t get another spaceship set with the second movie.) And despite it only being three years ago, I have a lot of nostalgia for The Lego Ninjago Movie line of sets. I personally believe that it is the greatest theme Lego has ever produced and it’s the closest I’ve ever gotten to completing an entire line of sets. The only ones I’m missing (excluding polybags and things like that) are the Garma Mecha Man, Volcano Lair, four of the CMFs, and Ninjago City Docks. If all that wasn’t enough, these sets also came out during the height of my Lego passion (2017 and 2018) so this theme reminds me of the time before I got somewhat burnt out on Lego last year.
  9. I think a modular Hotel would be amazing, but I don’t know if that’s feasible for this line. It would have to be ginormous and I’m not sure if a hotel could be done on the typical 32x32 baseplate like the majority of Modular Buildings. I’ll go with what others have said and hope for a Post Office soon. I’m not too picky when it comes to colors, though I think it’d be cool if it could somehow incorporate the red and yellow color scheme of the 2006 Mail line from Lego City.
  10. I love the Parisian Restaurant set, but this is an amazing rendition too! I’d be interested to see some of the other Modular Buildings redesigned as well.
  11. Hello all, I’m The Stud. I’ve been a lurker of this forum for years but I finally made an account today. I’ve been an on-and-off member of the Lego community for a little over two years now. I’ve interacted with people on Instagram and via Youtube live streams, but I think I’ll probably have more in-depth conversations here. I look forward to discussing the best brand of building bricks with you all!
