  1. Wow, what an incredible wave! Lego keeps knocking it out of the park with these summer Ninjago waves and this one is no different. I have a lot of thoughts on these sets: -71759 4+ Ninja Dragon Temple: Getting the uninteresting one out of the way; it’s an EVO set and it’s a 4+ set, so I don’t really have any desire to get this, though there are some cool pieces as with a lot of 4+ sets. I guess this is our third Nya dragon lol. (Second if you don’t count the HoT fusion one I guess.) -71768 Jay’s Golden Dragon Bike: It’s your standard Ninjago motorcycle but there’s something I like about this one. Maybe I’m just biased since Jay is my favorite ninja. It’s cheap so I’ll probably get it, partially so I can get that insane Golden Dragon Jay figure. -71769 Cole’s Dragon Cruiser: This set leaked like right as I was typing this out. I’m kinda over action/adventure hero vehicles at this point but I don’t mind this one. Maybe it’s just because in my many years of Ninjago collecting, I’ve only gotten like two Cole-specific vehicles. I think that Golden Dragon Kai might be the best looking one as well. I also never got any of the summer 2019 sets, so I wouldn’t be mad at getting an Aspheera figure. I could see myself picking this up on a whim at some point, probably discounted. -71770 Zane’s Golden Dragon Jet: I feel the same about this set as when it first leaked. It doesn’t look bad, it’s just a boring set in my opinion. Cool figures though, and as with the rest of the wave, the box art is absolutely gorgeous. -71772 The Crystal King: This thing looks awesome! The Overlord looking eyes are menacing and the build just looks very unique for a Ninjago set. It also comes with a new version of Harumi, who is one of my favorite non-ninja characters so I’m glad to see her again. I’ll just say this here as it applies to pretty much all of the sets: the henchmen figures are freaking awesome! Even their weapons are cool. The Crystal King also looks very cool as well. -71773 Kai’s Golden Dragon Raider: This is a very weird looking build, but I honestly kinda dig it. It looks very unique, almost like a little Ultra Sonic/Stealth Raider as the name suggests. I’ll probably pass on the set itself though and just get the figures at some point as they appear to be splendid here as well. It’s cool to see Mr E. again and it’s cool to see Skylor again as she is another favorite of mine. I have all three versions of her so far so I’ll definitely want to get this figure. -71771 The Crystal King Temple: I thought this looked a little bare-bones at first, but the set has really grown on me on further inspection. I really love the way this playset is set up and all those trans-pink pieces make this a really awesome thing to display. I also really like how the standard ninja suits look this season, so this set including four of them has that going for it. I’ll probably get this set right when it comes out. -71775 Nya’s Samurai X Mech: Oh man, this thing is legendary. I know people have mech fatigue but Ninjago just makes too many fantastic mechs for me to mind. This one might be my favorite outside of the Movie sets. Funnily enough, this one looks a lot like that small Creator mech that came out recently. The minifigure selection is also superb; eight amazing figures, most of which are exclusive, is just great. I’m interested to see how Nya is back and I love the Oni Garmadon and Dragon Master Wu appearances that call back to the Oni Trilogy. This is another set I’ll probably try to get right on release. -71774 Lloyd’s Golden Ultra Dragon: This thing looks absolutely crazy, though the price is surprisingly poor for a Ninjago set. I get that the high minifigure selection, molded dragon heads and possibly the high quantity of gold pieces may have played a role in that, but still. As it stands, I have enough Ninjago dragons (at least ten at varying sizes the last time I checked) and I probably just don’t have room in the budget for this one, so I’ll probably just try to Bricklink some of the figures here as well. That Golden Oni Lloyd might be up there with last year’s NRG Nya as one of my favorite Ninjago figures yet. I think I’m buying the Samurai X Mech and Crystal King Temple in August, The Crystal King and Jay’s Motorbike for my birthday the following month (I usually get at least one Ninjago set on my birthday each year), and I might get the Cole vehicle for a discount at some point. I’ll probably Bricklink the figures from the sets I’m passing on. Overall, this is an absolutely amazing wave and like last year’s sets, it’s a great celebration of Ninjago thus far. I was let down by the EVO sets earlier this year, but these sets make up for that. It honestly feels like this could be the end of Ninjago, though I know that it won’t be of course. I would not be surprised if we’re about to get another reboot next year, possibly with the Ninja all grown up and mentoring the next generation. Only time will tell.
  2. I think these Mickey 4+ sets have genuinely been fantastic little sets. Sure, they are 4+ sets but the cartoon aesthetic really works to their advantage. I’m also very impressed that they’ve avoided reusing figures in these sets. 10777 honestly looks like a really good camper van, though the car definitely looks very basic. It looks like it rolled straight out of the cartoons. This set is $20 if I’m not mistaken, which is very generous on Lego’s part to include Pluto in such a small set this time around. I’ll probably throw this in with a bigger purchase at the Lego Store sometime. 10778 looks like a fun little set as well, but like a lot of these Mickey sets, I don’t know what I’d do with the builds. Bummed that Lego isn’t including just a basic Goofy figure here either, but it’s cool to get some variations of him I guess. This one is less specific than the apron from last year I guess. 10780 looks like a cute little castle and all, but I’m very impressed that Lego went out of their way to make specialized versions of Mickey and Donald’s head molds for their hats, similar to the firefighter variants from last year. I still need to look into getting a lot of the figures from last year’s sets off of Bricklink and I’ll probably do the same for the two bigger ones here. Still, these are some neat little sets.
  3. That’s going to give me nightmares. It definitely ain’t easy being green apparently. I went to the Lego Store earlier and I’m surprised more people weren’t getting a lot of these Muppets figures. Maybe they’re like me and are just going to order a complete set online.
  4. Nice! I’m saving up my VIP Points so I can get it sometime during the fall and hopefully save around $200 on it. (I’ve already got nearly $100 worth of points saved up.) I ordered the UCS R2-D2 at midnight and bought the Bad Batch Shuttle when my Lego Store opened. I’ll have two of each of the smaller promos and one of the Lars Homestead Kitchen. I also got a bunch of free Lego Star Wars stickers at the Lego Store as well.
  5. I had a great experience going to the Lego Store for May the 4th today. This was only my second time going, and the first time was three years ago and it wasn’t the first day of the event, so it was a neat experience. It was even busier than when I went to the store on January 1st. I was worried about the Store running out of sets or promos, but they seemed to have plenty of everything. I guess I didn’t need to worry about getting the UCS R2 at midnight lol. The sets that seemed to be selling the most when I was there were the Cantina (one of the sets I was originally planning on getting) and Dagobah Jedi Training. The store was running like a very well-oiled machine and a lot of the employees wore Star Wars costumes which made it even more of a cool experience. I got The Bad Batch Shuttle and the two corresponding Star Wars promos, as well as a Friends flower polybag. They were also giving out a bunch of free stickers, including some Lego Porg and Solo ones that seemed to be from four years ago. Overall, it was a stellar time. Also, I now officially own every set that is currently out from the Star Wars Disney+ shows.
  6. Got the UCS R2-D2 ordered with all three promos; just waiting for the confirmation email.
  7. This might ruffle some feathers, but I have never heard as much pure whining about a Lego set as what I still see for the UCS Gunship to this day. Yes, there’s valid criticisms to be had as with just about any Lego set, but the incessant complaining about literally just the set’s figures is insane. I’m someone who initially voted for the Gunship (which I regret now since I think I would have been more interested in a UCS-sized Nebulon in retrospect) and it’s gotten to the point where I honestly kind of wish that it lost the fan vote just because of all the entitlement that’s arisen. It’s going to be funny seeing all the people who complained about the reuse of the Clone Commander from the Gunship will probably now complain if the Landspeeder C-3PO doesn’t come in other sets with the dual-molded legs. (Which I’m sure will happen at some point to be fair.)
  8. Oh yeah, good call! It’d go perfectly with my dream minifigure selection for a new minifig-scaled gunship. Republic Gunship ($160): Updated version of the 2013 ship. Minifigures would include Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex (New!), Turquoise Pilot (New!), two of Bo-Katan’s Mandalorian Loyalists, different from the one we got last year (New!), and Rook Kast (New!)
  9. That’s something else I was thinking as well. This could be how we get more No Way Home sets down the line, maybe Shang-Chi too since those sets/figures weren’t the greatest.
  10. I’ve had army building on my mind this year so I figured that I’d make a list of some of the Accessory Sets, Battle Packs and larger sets that are ideal for army building (like the AAT or Republic Fighter Tank of recent years) that I’d like to see in the next few years. I’ll try to be realistic with these, but some of these are definitely wishlist material. Prequels/Clone Wars The Siege of Mandalore Accessory Set ($15): The build would be some crates and a turret of some sort. Minifigures would include two 332nd Troopers and either an Ahsoka reuse or even a new Captain Vaughn [If we get a Commander Cody figure this summer or somewhere else down the line, they can reuse a new helmet mold between the two.] Clone Trooper Battle Pack ($20): The builds would be another BARC Speeder and a Command Post. The figures would include two plain Phase Two Clones (New!) and two Coruscant Guard troopers. (New!) 212th Utapau Attack Battle Pack ($20): The build would be a Crab Droid and the figures would include three 212th Clone Troopers (New!) and one 212th Airborne Trooper. Separatist Tank Droid ($30): The build would be what you’d expect. Figures would include two 327th Troopers (New!), a pilot Battle Droid and a regular Battle Droid. The Dark Times (Era Between the PT and OT) Elite Squad Battle Pack ($20): I have no ideas for the builds but this pack would include two Elite Squad Troopers (New!) and two TK Troopers (New!) from The Bad Batch. Purge Trooper Battle Pack ($20): Again, no ideas for the build, but the figures here would be one Purge Trooper Commander (New!) and three Purge Troopers (New!). They’d all have different weapons like in the game. Mimban Mudtrooper Battle Pack ($20): The build would be a small version of the AT-DT. Figures would include two Mimban Stormtroopers and two Imperial Mudtroopers (New!) [Admittedly, not a very realistic battle pack at this point.] Imperial Supercommando Battle Pack ($20): No ideas for the builds, but the figures would include two Mandalorian Supercommandos (New!) and two Rocket Troopers (New!) from Rebels. [Again, not a very realistic choice.] Scarif Trooper Battle Pack ($20): The build could just be some of the gorgeous Scarif terrain. Minifigures would include two updated Death Troopers (New!) and two updated Shoretroopers (New!) Darth Vader Hallway Rampage ($30): Very similar concept to the 2022 Dark Trooper Attack set, only this time the build would be depicting a Tantive IV hallway. Minifigures would include three Rebel Fleet Troopers with some different faces and a special Rogue One/ANH Darth Vader with the arm printing and the redder eyes (New!) Imperial Assault Tank ($40): New version of the 2016 Tank but with the treads from the film. Two orange Kyber Crystal crates would be included here. The figures would include Saw Gerrera (New!), two slightly updated Hovertank Pilots (New!) and one Jedha Stormtrooper (basically a stormtrooper with a backpack and paldron). Original Trilogy Endor Rebel Accessory Set ($15): The build would be a small tree. Figures would include two Endor Rebels (New!) and a generic Ewok (New!) Imperial Stormtrooper Battle Pack ($20): Very similar to the current Snowtrooper Battle Pack; the builds would be a speeder bike and some Endor terrain. Minifigures would include three Stormtroopers and one Scout Trooper. The Mandalorian Era Imperial Troop Transport ($40): Very similar set to last year’s Marauder Tank; this would just be the troop carrier version and a lighter shade of grey. Kuill’s Blurrg would also be included. Minifigures would include two Stormtroopers, an Incinerator Stormtrooper (New!) and Kuill (New!) Sequel Trilogy I’m honestly pretty content with the battle packs we got from the Sequel Trilogy. I can’t really think of any additional ones besides another First Order Stormtrooper pack somewhere down the line.
  11. Yep, I had someone go hunting for me and they found a ton of the Palace and a few copies left of the Dark Trooper Attack. I had them get me two of each for a total of $160, which is a pretty good deal in my book. As someone who’s been really into the Star Wars comics recently (albeit the newer Marvel ones, not really the older ones referenced here), I would love it if we got some Lego stuff based on those, or at least a few figures. I wouldn’t read too much into that description though unfortunately.
  12. I wonder if this is how they’re going to approach doing sets on upcoming movies that are keeping their plot details under wraps, kinda like how the No Way Home wave had what were essentially a Homecoming and Far From Home set. Those were essentially “legacy” sets. Maybe some of the four Black Panther sets coming later this year are going to be based on the first movie? Especially since the production of the second film has been chaotic to say the least. Regardless, it seems like it’ll essentially fill the same role as the Infinity Saga line from the past year. I imagine we’ll get some 2012 Avengers products under this Legacy line.
  13. Not really groundbreaking, but new Lego Star Wars sets are going to be unveiled at Lego’s own panel at Star Wars Celebration on May 27th. I’m not sure if we’ll just see a few sets or the whole wave but there’s something to look forward to!
  14. I think it’s probably just inflation honestly. The last AT-TE (Captain Rex’s from Rebels) was $120 for about 100 pieces less. This one is going to be bigger snd also come with a side build this time around. Plus, if the Cody speculation is true, part of the budget is probably going towards a new helmet mold.
  15. My next paycheck is coming in on May the 4th funnily enough, so hopefully The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle is still available then.
  16. Promobricks said on Instagram that Taun We is coming in the Jedi Starfighter and all of our credible sources have been referring to it as a Starfighter, not an Interceptor. We also just got a Jedi Interceptor two years ago, while our last Jedi Starfighter was four years ago. What you’re saying about Lego having multiple Obi-Wan related sets out at once is what I was thinking though. If the AT-TE is Episode 3 based, then we’ll probably have just about every noteworthy version of Obi-Wan available this summer, except for Episode 1 and TCW figures I guess. Also:
  17. All indications point to it being a Jedi Starfighter, not an Interceptor. It’s coming with a Kaminoan too, so definitely not an Episode 3 set.
  18. I think the Gunship was originally speculated to be the $140 set, while the $100 set was speculated to be the AT-TE. I think that if BD-1 is getting a new mold, TODO would be deserving of one. The only problem is that the BD mold is more reusable with their being another droid of the same model in The Book of Boba Fett, whereas we’ve only seen one TODO-style droid.
  19. I keep seeing people post about finding both 75324 and 75326 for 40% off at Costco, so I enlisted somebody that I know with a membership to look for me. Lo and behold, Costco had a plethora of both so I told them to get me two of each! I wasn’t super satisfied with the build of Boba’s Palace but with two copies of the set, I should be able to modify it to look better. I’ll throw some of the extra alien figures into my Mos Eisley display when I get that for May the 4th. I also wanted to expand the Dark Trooper hallway and have ten of those guys so I accomplished that goal too.
  20. Fingers crossed that we get all three since I don’t know when or where else Lego could do a Lama Su figure, whereas the other two seem very likely for some of the sets we’re getting this summer. I initially assumed that this was going to be a Season 2 set when the rumor first came out but I’m thinking otherwise now. I believe that Cad Bane, Todo and The Justifier will return and play a bigger role on Season 2, and that may be why Lego’s doing this ship, but I think that the minifigure selection of the set will technically be based on Season 1. I’m more surprised that the biggest non-D2C Star Wars set we’re getting this year is from animation, and is also seemingly the only set we’re getting from the animated properties this year. I know I’ll be getting it regardless. I’m not making the same mistake that I did with Clone Wars and Rebels by not getting any of the sets when those shows were around (though I wasn’t even into Star Wars yet when the first show was running) so I’m definitely getting all the sets from The Bad Batch, as well as the live-action series. You never know if and when Lego will get around to making this stuff again, which is also why I tried to get most of the the Rogue One and Solo sets when those were out.
  21. Yeah, Taun We would probably make more sense but if we’re already getting her with the Jedi Starfighter, I hope that we get Nala Se with The Justifier instead. She was more prevalent in The Bad Batch anyway. Oh yeah, I forgot that we saw Clone Commandos in this show! Not to mention the named troopers we need, like Howzer, a new Captain Rex and pre-Empire Crosshair. Speaking of the Empire, we are missing Rampart and it’s been a while since we’ve gotten Tarkin in a set… ugh, there’s just so much.
  22. Which informer if I may ask? It’d be great to get two of the three noteworthy Kaminoan characters (Nala Se and Taun We) this summer after having never gotten any in Lego form before. I’m guessing that The Justifier will come with Cad Bane, Todo, Omega and Nala Se as new figures, and then we can probably get reuses of Hunter and Fennec Shand here. It would be a pretty solid figure selection. I have to say that I really hope Lego does more stuff with The Bad Batch next year instead of just doing one set a year. There’s so many different troopers in the series - Elite Squad Troopers, TK Troopers and notable appearances of plain Phase 2 Clone Troopers - you’d think that Lego would be all about doing more stuff with it.
  23. Idk, they seem to line up with what we heard already and are exactly what I was expecting. I believe that 75334 and 75336 were already confirmed to be Kenobi series sets. Presumably [Spaceship from Kenobi] is referring to the Inquisitor Ship from the concept art and teaser, which seemed like the most likely thing to get as a set from what we’ve seen of the show so far. Having what is presumably an [Obi-Wan Darth Vader] duel set makes sense considering how much they’re hyping up the rematch between those two characters. The Justifier is the most notable Cad Bane ship and is from a currently running series, The Bad Batch. We already knew about 75333 as the Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter. They’re all pretty safe guesses. FalconFan and Childish Landino both reposted this I believe. I still don’t understand how The Justifier can be done at such a size and price point. I’m not a big PPP guy but it’s rumored to have between 1000-1100 pieces for $160! That’s crazy. It’ll come with cool minifigures for sure but it sounds like a set that I’ll wind up waiting for a sale or saving up my VIP points for it after I get the UCS Star Destroyer this fall.
  24. Oh god, I hope this doesn’t turn out like us waiting to see the Infinity Saga sets for weeks on end last year.
  25. That’s a good point I haven’t seen a lot of other people point out. This Double VIP list is practically all of the smaller Star Wars sets, but the one they don’t include on here is arguably one of the strongest sellers. (Though a lot of the hype has worn off and a lot of stores tend to have plenty of copies of the set…) Lego knows what they’re doing and it’s really crappy. Not including D2Cs and new sets is one thing, but actively omitting this set in particular grinds my gears even more Also, am I the only one who is just seeing little to no hype for the Landspeeder? I see more discussion and hype for the May the 4th promos than I do this set lol.
