  1. I was hoping the bags would like the curtains of the Muppet Show but this white backdrop fits better with the modern Muppets I guess. These figures look fantastic! Miss Piggy’s arms definitely look strange though. They almost look like mini-doll arms? Can’t wait to see the rest!
  2. Based off some of the TV spots, we’ll likely get an explanation in one of the next flashback or two. It seems that it was kept in a hangar at Jabba’s Palace that was shown in the Battlefront games.
  3. Because this is presumably going go be a Series commemorating the 90th Anniversary of Lego. I guess this just might mean that Lego will do three licensed series in 2023 to preserve Series 24 for 2024. As much as I was predicting Marvel Series 2 this year, it was admittedly a bit unrealistic to expect another series so soon on my part. I just hope Lego finds some other way to represent this year’s Disney+ shows.
  4. We’re going to be waiting for a while like the Grail Knight, but instead of waiting for someone to come get the grail, we’re waiting for Lego to announce this. I imagine we’ll have to late until the late spring or over the summer to see anything but we might have some more rumors come out by then. Fingers crossed.
  5. Hence why I try not to engage with Star Wars fans online for the most part. And one of those two good Youtubers are Star Wars Explained. I’d estimate that the vast majority of the general public didn’t know the name Slave 1, and I’d even wager that a lot of them probably didn’t even know the name Boba Fett until recent years. I think that this internet narrative that Disney is actively trying to micromanage Lucasfilm and make things worse is laughable. Watch any behind the scenes content from the last few years and Lucasfilm clearly shares the same level of autonomy as, say, Marvel Studios. I highly doubt it. I really don’t think Lego had any D2C prequel sets in the pipeline before they knew how well the UCS Gunship would sell, so a $500 set a year later would likely be too soon. There’s also little chance Lego is ever going to do an Order 66 set in my eyes. I think we could maybe see a D2C Jedi Temple like way down the line, but not before Lego does new MBS versions of other OT locations after how well the Cantina sold. (I’m on board the Endor speculation train personally.) Also, people are starting to find the Ahsoka Brickhead at Lego Stores in the US, so keep an eye out if you’re looking for one.
  6. They hardly refer to his ship as “Slave 1” on screen anyway. It’s such a non-issue. I’m sure a bunch of people will still get up in arms about it though. I enjoyed yesterday’s episode but I’m worried about the direction, storyline and overall quality of the show as a whole. Still, I think there are some interesting character designs, locations and vehicles we could get in sets at least, so even if the show ends up disappointing, we could get some cool Lego stuff out of it.
  7. Oh my god, that’s hilarious.
  8. I definitely think it’s possible. I never would have thought we’d be getting a Daily Bugle D2C before an Avengers Tower but that happened last year. I’d say that either the Sanctum or Asgard would be a definite possibility, especially since they’d be associated with Doctor Strange and Thor respectively, both of whom are getting new movies this year. I think people are leaning more towards the Avengers Tower theory though, since the original Avengers film came out ten years ago this year and would be a fitting choice for a big 10th Anniversary set with it also being the anniversary of Lego Marvel in general.
  9. There’s been murmurings of a Lego Indy revival for a while. Some Lego designers have talked about wanting to return to Lego Indy sets for years. One of the more plausible hints to it recently was when @Hoth Rebel alluded to it in another post linked a few pages back in this thread (along with talking about sets for James Cameron’s Avatar 2). I think Stonewars made a connection between the rumored Lego Indy revival and the Coconut code name, with some other reputable sources seeming to think that these numbers are for new Indy sets. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% confirmed but it is seeming pretty likely. If the video game easter egg is really what this codename is hinting at, then that is a very deep cut reference.
  10. Because a retail site listed the names of a lot of this summer’s Lego products and for CMFs, there’s a Series 23 listed. No fourth series, no Marvel Series 2 and no Mario CMF. I don’t think this means the NWH and Raimi sets rumor is inherently wrong as that’s a separate rumor that’s been around longer; though I think the person who leaked the Marvel Series 2 rumor might have ”corroborated” them. I’m still wary of this particular rumor though, or more specifically, I’m skeptical of the Raimi sets part of the rumor. (I’m confident we’ll get at least one more NWH set regardless. Ideally with most of, if not all of, the missing characters.) I don’t even know who the source of that was.
  11. I definitely think Universal is going to try doing a Lego Ninjago movie at some point. (If and when they ever start working on their Lego Movies that is.) I think that’s when the ninja will end up getting redesigned again. Assuming they keep their current designs til summer 2023, they’ll have had these designs for as long as their original designs were around, which is crazy to think about. I think we’re going to see past antagonists, like the Time Twins, Nadakhan, Aspheera and Garmadon return again at some point, perhaps for something like Day of the Departed. Outside of that, the only other idea I can think of is maybe doing squid antagonists? I really liked the Shark Army from TLNM and it would be something different from snakes.
  12. Without discussing the morality (or lack thereof) of giant companies or anything of that nature, I just think it’s funny how cursed the Lego Overwatch theme is. They started the theme in 2019, where it seemingly didn’t do too well. (Though I thought that the sets and especially the minifigs were very well made, and that’s coming from someone who’s never even watched gameplay of Overwatch.) And then when Lego tries to bring the theme back to life with the new Gaming line in 2022, the sequel game that the sets were tied to ends up getting delayed and Lego themselves end up cancelling/delaying the set that’s already been revealed, and even showed up at some places, due to Blizzards’s trangressions.
  13. That’s what I was referring to. There were rumors of a six minifigure box for Mario in the same numbering as the other CMF stuff.
  14. This reminds me that I still need to get the already existing Mickey 4+ sets, I only ever got the little plane. I might just Bricklink some of the figures tbh. I’ll probably still get the Fire Station unless Goofy (in a regular outfit without the apron preferably) or Pluto come in one of these sets, especially if these are cheaper, so I’ll hold off. I would kinda like to get the more retro versions of the gang like what are shown on the box art of these sets as well.
  15. It’s possible those other two sets could have been saved for Indy 5 and won’t come til next year now. I doubt it but it who knows? Fingers crossed that we still get six sets this year though; maybe there are some Lego/retailer exclusives that aren’t being listed with the others. A lot of people are speculating that we could be getting a set for each of the movies so far. That’d be a good approach I think. -There’s so many sets they could do for Raiders of the Lost Ark but I have to imagine the first one they go with would be the Temple Escape, which would make me so happy as the original was one of my white whales. -I’d like to see a remake of the titular Temple of Doom but I think they’ll probably just stick to one temple for the first wave. I think they’ll either do a small to medium sized Shanghai Car Chase or the mine cart scene. -For The Last Crusade, I think we’ll probably get a remake of either the Venice set or the Motorcycle Chase. It’d be kinda cool if they did the latter, as I still have it built and displayed so I could compare the new one to the original. -For Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I think Lego will redo either the River Car Chase (which is another one of the few Indy sets I owned, though it’s long been dismantled) or maybe the Jungle Cutter so they can get their large vehicle fix. Whatever they end up doing, I already know I’m getting the full wave! This is easily my most anticipated 2022 Lego release and I hope it does well so it can become an Evergreen theme. (Though probably a much smaller one than Star Wars and Harry Potter.)
  16. The $30 set is 4+ so it’s full of specialized pieces. I believe the Advent Calendar is the $45 set, which would explain the bad ratio, but I might be wrong on that.
  17. Looks like that 6 figure box rumor was false. A bit nervous for DC fans and that Tower of Fate rumor.
  18. The No Way Home sets came out in October this year with the movie coming out in December so I definitely think Avatar would be more logical to release there. It’s still surreal to me that we’re taking about actually getting new Indiana Jones sets.
  19. Looks like the four series in 2022 rumor was false, as well as the rumors of a Mario figure six pack and Marvel Series 2. According to Electric Bricks, we’re just getting three. Series 22, The Muppets and Series 23. Series 23 will presumably be some sort of anniversary series, because I don’t know why else Lego would break their pattern of having each annual series correspond with the year. (It makes me wonder if they’re going to do three licensed series next year so they can still have Series 24 in 2024.) I’m a bit bummed that the four series rumor is false. Having four 12 figure CMF series each year would have given us the same number of minifigs as the old way of doing three 16 figure series each year. I didn’t mind that as much when Lego moved to 12 figures in each series for 2021, as there was also those Vidiyo Bandmates series which were essentially two extra CMFs. Oh well, I’ve still really enjoyed each series since the change anyway.
  20. I like how this looks, I might do the same the next time I move around my Modulars! (Which might have to be sooner rather than later, as I have no space for the Bookshop or Police Station, the only two current ones I’m missing.
  21. Yes, I’m dying to find out what the summer waves for Star Wars and Marvel will be! (Indiana Jones too if that theme’s revival rumor pans out.) I generally agree on The Bad Batch too by the way, though I did warm up to it quite a bit once I was able to binge watch the whole season instead of waiting week-to-week. I’m also wondering about that art badge thing. I thought it was really cool when I spotted it on my first Hoth Battle Pack box, and it was also on the Hoth AT-ST box. I got the Razor Crest Microfighter too and there was no badge on that set, though that could just be because it’s a Microfighter. I guess we’ll find out when we see the boxes to the March sets, or if they just did this to make it really apparent that these sets are a part of the “Hoth Collection”.
  22. Based off these names, I’m worried that these “Golden Dragon” vehicles are all going to be super repetitive, kinda like how most of the Nexo Knights vehicles looked pretty similar. These names almost sound like placeholders since so many of them sound so similar. I’m just imagining the confusion of kids asking their parents or parents asking store employees for the “Golden Dragon” whatever when almost every set in the wave has that in the title. (Two of them are even called Golden Dragon Raiders.) It also feels weird to presumably be doing gold versions of the Ninja so soon after those Tenth Anniversary sets in my opinion. Still, while I was disappointed by the January wave this year, I’m sure the designers will be able to pull off some interesting designs here. There are some interesting tidbits here however. As many have pointed out, the Crystal King shares the name with a Power Miners set/creature. The crystal half of the name is also interesting as that suggests crystal villains this time around. Sounds like a fresh choice to be honest. A new giant Samurai X Mech also sounds pretty interesting, I’m amazed it’s taken Lego so long to do a large one. The gold dragon theming is also interesting. Are we returing to the First Realm? (My friend gave me this idea.) Or could this somehow be a continuation from The Final Battle? Who knows! I was planning on taking a year off from Ninjago but this story sounds kinda interesting…
  23. I guess I just didn’t think it was a relevant enough property to get wide-release toys for kids (i.e. Lego sets) these days, regardless of a new film. Funny that I thought that though, seeing as how I was a kid who got multiple of the hot new Indiana Jones related toys, video games and other items when the franchise “returned” in 2008, and I even dressed up as him for Halloween that year. I guess the release of the next movie in 2023 will be a similar case. Regardless, I definitely hope there will be a plethora of Indy content out in the coming years!
  24. If the rumor about us getting four CMFs a year now is true, then I think that’s the final nail in the coffin for more than 12 figures in a series. 4 series comprised of 12 figures gives us the same amount of minifigures as the 3 series of 16 that we used to get each year. As for the Lizard discussion, I honestly think he could just be a minifigure, that’s just me though. As for these speculative sets themselves, I could see the hypothetical Statue of Liberty set being more like the version from the trailers that “hid” Andrew and Tobey, including only Tom, and saving the other two Spideys for the smaller sets.
  25. It’ll definitely be interesting to see Indiana Jones products on store shelves again. I was only like five or six when Crystal Skull came out but I distinctly remember a lot of the merchandise for that movie. For some reason, I always imagined a Lego Indy theme revival to be exclusive to Lego Stores/online, sorta like Monkie Kid but moreso for adults. Glad to see that I was wrong! That’s a great point I hadn’t even thought about. Indiana Jones has some great supporting characters but we only got like half of ’em last time around. If this rumor pans out, then this might be the Lego thing that excited me the most this year. It’ll definitely make up for my disappointment about the movie being delayed yet again to 2023 at least.
