2023 Friends Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
RichardGoring replied to El Garfio's topic in LEGO Town
I particularly like Autumn's house for using plates for the pitched roof, rather than slopes a they normally do. To my eyes it looks better, gives you more space inside, provides more options to do things on the roof, and requires more elegant construction techniques. The aqua colour for the walls is great too. As is the orange foliage on the tree. The whole thing is just composed very well.- 634 replies

[MOC] Music Hall - Concert room with orchestra

Wonderful! -
Search BrickClicker on Youtube and it will come up. I went to the Las Vegas LEGO Store yesterday and they had all three of these new BAM figures in holiday/winter blister packs. I was only there for the last minutes before closing and wanted to scan the PAB wall, so didn't take photos, and forgot to pick one up before leaving. Oops!

I've just been in the Las Vegas store and they have these in the BAM tower in prebuilt packs. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

But is the top floor of the downtown diner too close to that for LEGO to do it. I'd personally love it, and I'm tempted to do the radio station alt build of the police station. Just not sure we'll get it officially. -

I hope not. It was more poking fun at current trends. I could certainly see them trying something like that though... -

Plus the smaller builds take less time and require less building space, so you can approach it more casually, rather than having to dedicate lots of time and space to it. -

They're going to do it, aren't they? It's going to be Narsil, and sold as a 2in1. 1. Broken into pieces 2. Reforged "The perfect LEGO representation of your (second) favorite icon from Middle Earth" -

I've said before that I think Friends is probably the best theme LEGO produces when you consider everything you could want from a LEGO set. I'm delighted that they are continuing the line like this, with some awesome looking sets to kick things off.- 634 replies

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree, to be produced for this long and in this number, they must be popular. Also, the $500 D2C could well be about trying to bring new people into LEGO. There are many fans of Lord of the Rings, with lots of rekindled interest after the Amazon series, so good timing for people with plenty of money to be inspired to get it. Very profitable for LEGO. Sadly, the global economic situation is adversely impacting so many people, their plans may fall flat. -

I'm sure he is, but what's his user name?!?! (nicely played, thank you). The parts look fascinating. I hope we get a plentiful supply of them.- 5,948 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
While annoying to those who buy the modulars early, it's good business sense for LEGO. Those who buy on release day will always buy on release day. Whereas there are plenty of others who wait, or may not be fully decided, and the GWP may be the thing that pushes them to buy, which is what LEGO wants. And/or those that have already bought a modular may get a second just for the GWP, which is also good for LEGO. Cynical, but that's pretty much why they produce GWPs (that, and getting people to buy direct from LEGO instead of other retailers which may discount). -
Good lists and very helpful, thank you!

Can you give a user name to look for? Is that too much of a step for the rules? As with many, I can only see the top nine posts sadly.- 5,948 replies

It does indeed look good. Some very cool potential location builds from this, although it doesn't look like we'll get them, which is a shame. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
RichardGoring replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The llama is, I think, the only figure variant I didn't get. I just couldn't find a way to like it. The unicorn is my next least favorite. I will not cry for the loss of this set. -
Although, perhaps interestingly, the forestmen hat in grey was 88c a year or so ago - well before there was any talk of the return of the castle (actually, maybe around the time of the original Ideas votes). But that was a colour that very few people would want and it was still high. And never went down before it was out of production.

Super Mario 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I built the Mighty Bowser this week and was really impressed. It was great fun and very clever. It also looks fabulous. The base was a little tiresome and doesn't really add much. And within literally five minutes of my children playing with it, the head came loose, which was a pain to fix. The fireball firing mechanism isn't terribly reliable either. But those things are all pretty minor compared to the rest of it. Other than the 'small' head falling off issue, it's surprisingly solid and stable. I'm really pleased that I got it. -

I got the 15 Black Falcons that I wanted last month. But I was happy to wait. I will wait for the new ones too. But I understand the frustration if you're trying to build something.- 2,976 replies

Ah, thanks. Yes, I see the difference, but it feels very slight. I suppose it's mainly the lack of printed eyes that makes it feel old. I still prefer the red printed one though.- 5,948 replies

I know I don't know as much as most of you here, but is the dual moulded parrot mould different from the old printed parrot one? The Parrot Question - LEGO Pirates - Eurobricks Forums As with the poll above, I very much prefer the printed parrot, and assumed they changed it to dual moulded to reduce costs. But is it actually a new mould (that just appears to look identical), or am I missing something?- 5,948 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
But here's the problem for LEGO, because I really like it when they have a story in it. Brick Bank is possibly my favourite, for the money laundering storyline. The balancing act is tricky because you don't want to overdo one thing too much. It's not a bad metric. JANG uses his 'volume of stuff', and there are sometimes arguments about weight being a good proxy for value. Although it's possibly useful to compare set to set, it doesn't take into account whether it's a terrible design, or poorly thought through idea (recent Marvel sets, for example). I just hope it's good and they don't jump the shark by trying anything that looks like it's come from a focus group... -

The frog is interesting because it's small enough and plain enough that it can work well as other things, in a way that the fish, crab, or parrot can't really. I'd definitely like to see them all updated, but the frog at the bottom of the list.- 5,948 replies

Bilbo IS included. But you can't see him, because he's wearing the ring.
