  1. We've seen some 2x combined sets, but what about 10x combined sets?!?!
  2. Bit of a bad reflection on the casing, but this is the BAM selection at the Boston South Shore store. They have the new figures, but not the new accessories, sadly. So I will wait. They're still doing pre-made figures, but there are a few loose ones in the tower (all older pieces).
  3. I saw the set in person this evening, and it's so much larger than I expected, and as a result, looks better, to my eyes. I wasn't going to try and get one, but it may have persuaded me too.
  4. I saw the jazz club in person for the first time today, and it looks good. The blue and reddish brown accents don't stand out as much as they appear to in photos, so I might keep it as is. The black recolor above does look good though.
  5. What are you doing with the Sanctum? I like it, but the scale doesn't fit the modulars, so will eventually try to mod it myself.
  6. Oh, it's not my design. I wish. Fortunately, that means instructions are already available. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-102759/Carbohydrates/sonic-the-hedgehog-chemical-plant-zone/#details I made a few tweaks so that it was done with more easily available pieces, but it's a really neat design.
  7. A nice combination of 2x sets on Reddit. If this anyone here?
  8. These look terrific. I skipped most of the 3 in 1 sets in 2022, but will definitely get some of these.
  9. I'm waiting for the pizza van GWP. I like it when you can have things combine together.
  10. If they're going to combine moulding and brick built for the brachiosaurus, then surely the only thing that could work would be a moulded head. And if that's the case, the ppp ratio seems way off, and too far the other way. For display sets, I prefer brick built, but it would be a poor idea for a playset, and likely spoil the consistency.
  11. Well I am something of a Sonic fan. Not seen the films, but I grew up playing Sonic and Sonic 2, and loved them. I have Sonic 2 on an Android tablet and tried Green Hill Zone level 1 a few months ago (having not touched it in years) and could still do it in under 30 seconds to get the extra life bonus. Such fun! I found a Chemical Plant Zone MOC by Carbohydrates on Rebrickable and simply had to have it: I know that they're going for playable sets, but I'd love at least one that fits with the original Ideas set, and maybe do new levels each year.
  12. Bad form to quote yourself? Either way, I was reading the other week about Rivendell possibly being in season 2 of Rings of Power, maybe the origin story with Elrond. And it was commissioned for five seasons, so there is likely a high level story arc that they're going for.
  13. Mega MOC for the Black Falcons, to rival the Lion Knights if on Rebrickable. Looks good. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-132661/Dream Build Bricks/black-falcon-fortress-classic-castle/#details
  14. I think the comment about the torso needing more detail applies to the entire craft, to my eyes. To be fair, I never had much classic space (it was forestmen and pirates for me), but the classic space stuff felt elegant in design, like it was sleek and super futuristic. Whereas the other space themes felt like they lacked that clean elegance in an attempt to make it look more functional and detailed. And so as a result, this set doesn't feel anything like as good as the Galaxy Explorer set, because it doesn't have the detail you'd expect, and I don't know whether the impression of detail is sufficient nowadays, at minifigure scale. Obviously it's hard at the piece count of a GWP, but this is one of those sets where clearly bigger would have been better. Although I'm generally a fan of small, efficient builds.
  15. I'm rather taken by the idea of what small/micro businesses could fit into a little alcove in a larger modular, similar to the newspaper stand in the police station. Watch/clock workshop Sweet treats hole in the wall (ice cream, waffles, crepes) Greetings card store Hat/scarf shop What else would work well?
  16. And other times they don't do a reveal at all, in that sets just appear on the website with no other form of announcement or press release.
  17. Watch, as a small independent retailer puts it up on their website a few days early and then a large retailer, and then it just appears on the LEGO website with no announcement at all...
  18. What did you say, sorry? You'd be happy to pay through the nose for standard bricks but in a special 'Collector's Edition' box and chrome sticker pack? Sure thing! That will be $50 per month please.
  19. That's impressive, thanks! It's also online, so I ordered two.
  20. True. I did think the scale would be hard, but a watchmaker would fit nicely in the tiniest space, but I might want a bit more room for a clockmaker. Either way, something with a small, precision mechanical workshop would fit well.
  21. Indeed, excellent deal. I had some forestmen sets as a kid, with just two token knights for them to fight against, so not much nostalgia for it, but it goes nicely with the castle. Especially with other factions visiting.
  22. MandRproductions is a YouTube channel run by an American LEGO Star Wars fan called Ryan. He's one of the most (the most?) popular/viewed LEGO Star Wars channels and produces quite a lot of opinion pieces to camera and set reviews. Been doing it for a decade. He's in his early 20s and opinionated. Not necessarily bad opinions, but often comes across as very entitled, so he's either a hero, championing the cause, or annoying and whiney, depending on who you are - and sometimes he's both at the same time. Anyway, when the fan vote to choose the UCS set was launched, he encouraged his many viewers to vote for the Gunship, and so, in some ways, claims that he managed to get that chosen. And has talked a lot about the lack of minifigures in that set. So, largely, you can ignore the specifics, but the point was probably about the fanaticism and zeal that some corners of the LEGO Star Wars community have about LEGO Star Wars, and that, sometimes, it can go a bit too far - at least for most. Probably. -- I wonder if the success of Hogwarts at microscale would inspire them to try for something similar with LOTR. A somewhat sprawling and impressive model that could also look good just generically as an amazing semi-fantasy mountain/woodland settlement. Or whether they have sight of the next season of Rings of Power, as there is speculation that Rivendell will be in a future season, and would likely be a major location and they want to fit as much in as possible? I still think they could do something awesome with minifigure scale versions of a few main locations loosely tied together to make it feel cohesive.
  23. As they will continue to do multiple buildings per set, is kind to see a watchmaker as a little nook in a future set.
  24. My first one arrived today. Might get a second if I could figure out something good to do. Quite like the idea of combining it with the Harry Potter Great Hall to make a feasting hall. Also picked up 10223 Kingdoms Joust for $100 earlier in the week. That was a good deal!
