This was their statement when they cancelled it - VIDIYO officially discontinued | Brickset: LEGO set guide and database You could read some of that as being that they will launch something else with Universal to be music-related in 2023. Or you could read it as it's completely dead. But either way, I think VIDIYO is gone. However, there's a chance, as people have suggested, that it's for a CMF or BAM. If they've looked at it closely, they'll know that the figures were very popular, and if they could bring the price down a bit by scrapping the app and music license, it would likely do well.

It will add to your cart if you have $50 or more of items. It's not advertised though.

Has anyone built the Modular LEGO Store yet? Do you like it? At the time I thought it was the wrong scale and a bit plain, but hoped that it would grow on me, as I like the detailing of the facade at the top. But it doesn't look like it has much in the way of interesting techniques. And having now watched a video review and can't say I'm impressed, so considering selling it, especially as it's going for $450+. I could get 10305 for that, which feel much more impressive and entertaining. Can anyone tell me that I'm wrong and it's actually great fun?

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Sadly, no April parts available yet. Which is a shame as I want the black crook from 10300 DeLorean Time Machine, along with a few other pieces, so that I can build all three sets of accessories in one go. Still have no idea why they didn't include the 16 extra pieces (or more likely 12 if you don't include tyres) you need to make all of them at the same time. -

Very interesting insight! As I said earlier, it may just be that I'm biased towards GW for this kind of thing. Maybe it's the pull of the more complete nature of LEGO sets that heightens the appeal. Or maybe it is indeed just the aesthetic of the minifigure that people like. Or, honestly, possible the price difference. If you think LEGO is expensive, then GW... Wow! -
Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion

Certainly amongst LEGO fans. But I was speculating more broadly. Of the world of LOTR fans, how many would buy armies in LEGO, compared to armies from Games Workshop? I speculated that it would probably skew towards Games Workshop, making battle pack armies a less attractive prospect for LEGO to make. Whereas, if LEGO produced some icon locations from LOTR, then I imagine that a larger proportion of LOTR fans would be interested, as LEGO is an excellent medium to recreate them. All of which is to say, I suspect they'll focus more on locations (with figures) than purely on figures. But it is all wild speculation and musings. Interested to see what they come up with. -
Super Mario 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I went to Target yesterday to see if they had any of the figure packs and there were a few. ALL ripped open. Doesn't bode well for the new CMFs being in boxes either. Although it meant I could find the two that I wanted very easily! -

Yes, totally get that it's not a fair comparison. I just wonder whether LEGO would go for battle pack style things for LOTR and how well they would sell compared to more complete models. I may also be biased because I have an old collection of Games Workshop High Elves and Wood Elves from 25 years ago that I still enjoy. And see little bits of what they do now, especially with Forge World, amazes me. But it's only the figures, and you don't really get anything like the full scale models that LEGO produces. -

I'm probably in the minority thinking this (certainly on this forum), but I suspect that LEGO battle packs for LOTR armies wouldn't be that popular. If you wanted all those armies, wouldn't you go Games Workshop instead, with much more accurate figures and greater variety? Does the LEGO minifigure do all the characters justice in the same way as it does for Star Wars? It feels like Star Wars characters probably work better in minifigure form. And then LEGO castle is great, but (for me) is great for the LEGO aesthetic, rather than the variety. -

Had ~100 minifigure parts arrive from my Bricks & Pieces order (just a few of each of the ones currently available), including two 'baby' heads. The regular baby head (6204394 - baby, no.1) is $1.60, but looking through the listings, there is a baby head no.2 (6187163) for just $0.18, but with no picture. So I tried it. Turns out it's an unprinted head, which could actually be very nice for lamps and decorations. Might get more in my next order. -

As exciting as it is, I don't want to get carried away, because it could just be BrickHeadz. Promobricks thinks it might happen, but when D2Cs are that vague, they can be easily confused. And if it does happen, it's only one. That said, I'd be happy with any of the suggestions above, but Bag End or Barad Dur would be my favourites. I hope they don't do a $200 buildable ring of power! -

No, it's that you can only buy up to 200 of any one part at a time. You should be able to have more than 200 pieces total, as long as they are different. Sounds like something screwy is going on. -

At this point we might as well say it's going to be Dobby's sock, but perhaps scaled up for Hulk? -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Beautiful! They look excellent! They are still an extra stud deeper though, and, well this line could go in several directions, but I'll stick to the LEGO and say that it helps give it that bit more depth and stability. But what I really love about the older ones is the varied shapes and angles. The Post Office and Toy Shop have multiple angles, heights, and depths, so it just seems more interesting, making the new sets look like simple boxes. It's similar to how I feel about the 2018-2020 Hogwarts sets vs the new modular style. I can see that both have a place, and both can be very well designed, but subjectively I prefer the variation you get in the older sets. -

I wondered that too. Maybe not so much about being dumbed down, but splitting the build into four separate components so they can advertise it as something for four people to build. That's nice, but I still would have preferred slightly deeper buildings and/or just one that was more detailed. Still don't really like the style of them for the Winter Village. The trolley is awesome though, and yes, I'd definitely like to try and incorporate tiled roads over the tracks. Possibly a cobbled street if I can get enough round tiles. It would look brilliant. -

Oh dear. The interiors really do seem to basic. What a shame, as the trolley is excellent. -

Sigh. Looks like it will indeed be $130 rather than $100, which makes it an even harder decision on whether to get it. -

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Leaked pictures always look worse than the final images, but initial impressions are that the tram/trolley is terrific and I like the stop with the clock, but the buildings don't feel right. They look like City buildings more than Winter Village ones. They're more American than Alpine. Which feels a shame to break the style. Very boxy, without the angles or depth that all of the others have. And that probably comes from trying to get two buildings that look large out of the budget. -

Indubitably! It would have been uncouth to do it in a lane that was being used. -

You could set up a polling booth to see how many of them vote for Christmas? I did wonder about putting a blank red/brown minifigure head inside and changing the legs to a red or brown 1x2 plate so that it resembles a real turkey. Or it might look terrible. Not had time to try it yet. -

Such excellent news today. I had the invoice for my PAB order with loads of heads, helmets, and weapons for the various historical BAM figures I've picked up. And then a brief trip to Target got me two of the series 23 knight CMFs. That's four in total. I keep telling myself it's enough, but will probably try to get a few more.- 2,976 replies

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I sat down in an unused checkout lane in Target earlier to feel CMF bags, and now have a reindeer, snowman, two nutcrackers, and four elves to add to my winter village. Hoping to find another two snowmen at some point.
