  1. There was nothing wrong with the bandmates series 1 and 2, other than the boxes, so hopefully we get the planned figures as another CMF.
  2. Wow, $16.71 for the giraffe and $1.95 for the chicken, in the US. The unprinted red bird is available now too. 6395754/41835 for 30c.
  3. I'll only accept it if the letters are stickers.
  4. Fair enough. Still looks like a knock off Mickey to me, but if they're in the same set/series it will probably make more sense. Nice that they are truly going so the way back in their history though.
  5. My experience has been that you save a lot of space with lose bricks in bags compared to the space a box takes up. While I agree that space is money, you also have to consider that as an expensive product, people often expect to get something of a decent size for they money, so box size has an impact on consumer psychology in the store.
  6. I feel the same way. But for those that like it and get it, I hope they have a fabulous time with it. I'm glad I don't feel conflicted about whether to get it and can peacefully concentrate on other sets.
  7. That's a shame. Feels far too underhand. Sorry.
  8. Do you think they are getting confused with this alt build of assembly square? https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-15858/Huaojozu/the-music-club-inverted-corner-10255-assembly-square-alternate-model-modular/#details Clearly LEGO will not do this in one of their sets.
  9. I think series 24 and Disney will be in bags still. It's only later in 2023 that they will go to boxes.
  10. Just looking through now and for many items they appear to have the Technic or Duplo logo in the top left of the thumbnail, which is useful. But it's not all Technic or Duplo elements, so still something to be wary of.
  11. I've recently removed a chunk of things from my wish list, realizing that there are too many releases of large sets, which I will never find space for. Nor probably time. And I'm in the very fortunate situation that those are my only concerns, while many others have a great deal more to worry about too. I note that Optimus Prime is also now on sale on the Lego website. How many other large, somewhat niche license sets will follow?
  12. I'd never heard of Oswald, so just Googled it. Honestly, if they released that in any form, most people would think that it's a bad knock-off Mickey Mouse. So yes, I think you're right. It wouldn't get picked up by a general audience, as cool as it would be for there to be references to early history and the opportunity to learn something about it.
  13. Curious. I've just tried and neither the spooky add on pack nor Ray the Castaway appeared in the cart or at check out (so I didn't go through with it and will wait for the holiday GWPs in November).
  14. Not necessarily. They may batch things together. We've had Jan/Feb/Mar together, and now Apr/May. Could be the new year before they're available.
  15. The new sets are revealed at the China International Import Expo. which is November 5-10, so the next ones should be at some point during those dates.
  16. The spooky add on pack is back in stock on the LEGO website. There was a report on Reddit that a CS rep said they were having supply issues, which is why it went out of stock, and that stores only had small deliveries of them too. But that more were on the way. Looks like they've arrived into the online store warehouse at least. It will presumably be the winter wonderland one next, and then fun and funky in the spring? Either way, hoping both get released.
  17. Given that they gave the (excellent) Ideas submission additional scrutiny and then rejected it, does that make it more or less likely to be Snow White and the cottage? On the one hand you could say that they rejected it after learning that the Disney team wanted to do their own version. But on the other, wouldn't they have already known about the production plans for this set at that time? If, as speculated at the time, it was down to the criticism of the new live action remake, then I don't think they'd do their own version either. That Ideas submission was so good. Such a shame!
  18. Also, the fact that the Hogsmeade Village buildings have a similar level of snow on the roof as the new main street set is nice for consistency if they're all together. Same for the Market stalls, Post Office, and Fire Station. They could all be together in the centre of town, whereas the houses are a bit further out and got hit by more snow. Might be overthinking that a bit, but the story is nice to consider.
  19. Brick Artisan on Rebrickable lives to make anything modular. Anything. Most recently the new winter village set. And you can see it next to modular versions of Santa's Visit and the gingerbread house, which have similar style and roof lines to Hogsmeade, and I think it works nicely together. Definitely better than the buildings being standalone. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-124898/Brick Artisan/modular-holiday-main-street/#details
  20. Oh, well that's a relief. Hope they don't 'fix' the system!
  21. I will be combining it, but haven't got it yet, and may not until next year honestly. I've been in a state of nearly moving for three years, which means I've got the last four sets still in the box. However, we have now moved, so there's a chance we could go on a building steak if the weather is bad enough. I'm still not a huge fan of the new set, but think it will be much better a part of a street, hence the name I suppose. Adding Hogsmeade will help. I wonder if they will do a part 2 next year?
  22. It seems that LEGO has changed the GWP qualification, so that only bestseller items contribute towards the spend threshold, not standard ones. So it's effectively referring back to what it was under Bricks and Pieces. Which is kind of a shame.
  23. I'd be very surprised if they didn't release a new modular for January 2023. It seems like there is a lot of kudos internally to get to design a modular, and they are planned so far in advance, it surely couldn't suffer from an issue that would stop them releasing one. Plus, they usually have several in progress, so they could try to bump up the next year's version. But, perhaps most importantly, as Murdoch17 said, they'd be losing out on a ton of revenue and gain a load of bad feeling if they didn't release one. The Police Station didn't get a price increase, did it? It's still $200 in the US. But all the others did increase in price.
  24. If it really is going to be $500 or so, then I think they may go for Barad Dur, possibly with the Black Gate, or Minas Tirith, as both would work very well at that size and are also standalone sets - as in they can exist really nicely as a clear display piece. It can all sit very well on a single base and you can pick it up and place it all in one go. Bag End feels like it's too small for that price range (or most of the detail would be inside and the display piece would be a large green mound. Helm's Deep really needs a lot of rockwork and might be off-putting from a display perspective to just stop it. Plus, part of the magnificence of it in the film is the battle, and it's hard to recreate that with probably a maximum of 25 minifigures. Plus it's more awkward for display, which is what I expect a $500 set will be aimed at, as you'll have lots of small pieces to place. I'd love it to be Rivendell set, as the architecture and the trees are fabulous, but does it stand out as very Lord of the Rings to most people? Maybe? Or it could just be a nice woodland scene. And again, would it work on just a single base for easy display? On the one hand, expensive LEGO sets are a pain, as they're expensive and a large set lacks the elegance and ingenuity that often comes with a well executed smaller set. But on the other hand, it means it's very likely to look amazing!
