Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
RichardGoring replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sorry, my Promobricks comment was referencing the legoleaks post on Reddit. Not sure if we can link to that directly though, although it's just text, not an image. -

Promobricks has leaked more information. Sounds like plenty of civilians. And maybe five buildings? Or could be five things, sharing buildings. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
More leaked details from Promobricks. Brachiosaurus skeleton in the atrium. First floor has natural history exhibits. Second floor has space, science, and LEGO exhibits. Roof is the curator's office and two skylights. Sounds like plenty of fun details. I would imagine the atrium to be two stories tall, and maybe even three, with a braccio skeleton. So you need the extra width to fit the galleries in the wings. -

There is a Rebrickable model, I think, that does this alreay. Although the level of detail you lose makes you think twice, because it's also so much harder to lose something you had. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
RichardGoring replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I'm pretty surprised they've gone for a single use building. It certainly makes a statement (hopefully), but having recently built the Grand Emporium, it felt more basic than the modern multi-building ones. I realize that it's pretty old now, and modern techniques in the new one will be a lot better. Maybe it will be lots of rooms or wings to it for that same multi-building feel. -

I'm on the 'smaller than the Medieval Blacksmith and a better scale with the castle' train. The Blacksmith is great, but it really does feel too large in comparison to the castle. Although things can change a lot between prelims and final product, and they likely have several versions, I don't know why they wouldn't show off their preferred model in the survey. And if the survey response was so poor as to change it to a different design, then they might have decided to just not release it anyway. So I'd say it will be close to the prelims. It would be great to get another knight faction. Ideally a second forestmen torso design. And loads of civilians. -

Well that's one of the Rebrickable sets I had in my list of things to build likely left alone now. Very interesting, and lots of potential. -

I would not be surprised if they did it to boost sales of those further and encourage people to buy multiples. But given that the forestmen set was on anything, I would assume the same will be true for Majisto.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes, I noticed that the other day experimenting with it, planning an order next weekend. But as we've seen many times before, the largest toy company in the world really appears to struggle to get their ecommerce system fully robust. In this rare instance, it is to our advantage. -
I saw the figures and immediately thought Fabuland 2.0. But I've never played Animal Crossing, so it's my closest reference

Latest news about Lego animal moulds
RichardGoring replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fair point, but I think there is a very different audience for Pick a Brick (and PAB animals specifically) compared to general sets available in retail stores. I long ago learned not to need anything immediately, and that it was generally OK to wait. As long as they bring them back into stock at some point it will be fine.- 5,934 replies

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
RichardGoring replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
They did indeed, but back then it was Bricks & Pieces mentioned in the T&Cs. Then they changed it to Pick a Brick not long after, I recall. Although now it's 'Pick a Brick (Standard)', so they do keep it up to date, and they clearly intend for Bestseller pieces to contribute to it. It may be a shipping thing, given that Standard pieces come from a different fulfillment centre? -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
RichardGoring replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, I went into a LEGO Store today with my gram scale and a determination to get five specific CMF figures. Turns out, weight is a really inaccurate way to get them. But, I got all the ones I wanted by, and you're not going to believe this, shining a light into one of the tiny holes in the corner, and peeking through the tiny hole in the other corner, to see what parts were in there. And do you know what I've learned from this experience? I'm just going to Bricklink CMFs in future! -

If they sell out of stock on day one of release, there is very little incentive to lower the price. It suggests they should increase it even!- 5,934 replies

That's lovely and better than I expected a rectangular base to look. I was pondering whether you could make a base that preserved the non-square base, as I think I rather like that from the sets. Like this on Ideas. ONE DIRECTION: WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL by SJs Workshop Or the SNOT technique that I find really very impressive. Ranghaal on Reddit. I am a wreck : lego (reddit.com)

Latest news about Lego animal moulds
RichardGoring replied to Roebuck's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That what I thought too, but have been meaning to check it out ahead of double VIP next weekend. Looks like the current GWPs are added if you reach the threshold solely with Bestseller or Standard parts, which surprised me. I'd still add a regular set/product to the order to trigger the GWP shipping though. Oh, and while it's obvious, and you wouldn't, I added the polar bear as my test, with 999 of them. $7692!- 5,934 replies

The problem with those is that whenever you try to get something out from it, a shark bites your finger!

VIKING VILLAGE Ideas set via Target vote

All of the above, plus a request for a larger forestmen set that's actually for sale and not a GWP. -
To be honest, if they did that, it would be an excellent print for a toy and I would get a handful.

Where else do you think mermaids keep their keys and cash? Pockets are essential.
