  1. Does anyone have any good SEC recommendations for a second copy of this? There are a few on Rebrickable, but none really feel like they add a lot to the original. Then there are some additions, which look terrific, but they're using parts from other sets, or just random parts. All of which is to say that 25% off is a great deal, but I don't know if there's huge value in getting a second for someone who isn't great at custom builds (at least, not yet!).
  2. Mostly joking. Partly pondering if they'd consider making it far taller the Eiffel Tower and definitively the largest LEGO set, to quash the Titanic vs Eiffel Tower vs World Map variations.
  3. It looks pretty good, but I can see this being very similar to the most recent wave with the research base. So it might depend on how much they want to push it with the other alien sets, or will it be closer to real-world, near-future settings?
  4. I just hope that the final model for Barad-dur is to scale with the Orthanc set. What I hadn't appreciated, until fairly recently, was how large it is compared to real-world buildings. Just being at the base of the Burj Dubai is a strange experience and sort of vertigo-inducing, given how tall it is. Barad-dur is staggering:
  5. Ha! I have long considered wrapping my VW Golf in a Harlequin colour scheme. I keep seeing this torso and thinking of the same thing:
  6. While I certainly shan't @Robert8 for the cruel and unusual views on the latest winter village set and GWP, I will say that I like them both and they go nicely together. Edit: oops.
  7. The Rainbow Express. I like it! Great work on this, and fantastic progress. Thank you!
  8. Agreed. I almost wish that the announcement was last week, as I've just placed PAB orders for all the parts needed to build this one from Series 1 (and the MOC Pop-Up Store). They will go very nicely together though, so I don't feel too bad.
  9. Wow. Although this sounds like the original packaging has likely been damaged at some point, and the carrier has done this themselves to not lose any elements and ensure delivery - rather than get an insurance claim against them.
  10. I wonder if LEGO is allowed to use the IKEA boxes, which would be a great way to build a sturdy base for Minas Tirith with only a couple of pieces!
  11. Oh wow, that's incredible! And it was only the LEGO boxes? No brown cardboard packaging? Shipping labels on the LEGO printed artwork boxes? That's something only Amazon or Target usually do!
  12. Series 3 may be my favorite of the lot. Series 1 didn't seem that great, with only one or two I liked. Series 2 was much stronger. Series 3 feels like it's a buy all scenario. Of course, the average price per set across the series is probably going to be $300. Sigh. Actually, upon reflection of the detail, the forestmen castle feels like it may be the weakest of them. It feels like it lacks the detail and elegance of the others, and of sets like the Castle in the Forest from the BDP 2021. It has scale, but not a huge amount of variation in the build. But heck, if it tells LEGO to do more official forestmen sets, then I'm up for that too!
  13. That would be an impressively fast turnaround to have ordered at the weekend and had things arrive already. I placed an order at midnight on Friday. The shipping label was created on Saturday, and the carrier collected it on Monday morning. It's due to be delivered on Friday - but in the US it's Thanksgiving on Thursday, which slows things down somewhat.
  14. To be fair, the vast majority of children also want to run their trains. I don't think there is a huge market in any demographic for static display-only trains.
  15. Bag End is surely a consideration for a set. Although there is already an excellent model, LEGO has a much larger market penetration and awareness amongst adults now, and it's the opportunity to sell another lovely looking 'decor' set, compared to something like the mines of Moria, which might end up being like the Batman shadowbox, limiting it's mass market appeal.
  16. True. But nice to get in a GWP. Also, we'd been talking about whether it would be moulded or a brick-built creator one, so nice to see it being moulded.
  17. 40603 Wintertime Carraige Ride GWP photo is on Reddit Legoleak sub and it does indeed contain a moulded horse, in dark orange.
  18. 40603 Wintertime Carraige Ride GWP photo is on Reddit Legoleak sub. Looks really nice. Three figures and a moulded dark orange horse! I really like the carriage and it fits really well with the WV line. No details on the threshold, but given the things included, and that it will be available at the same time as a Christmas baubles GWP too, it's likely going to be pretty high.
  19. I would love this. I resorted to an off brand to get them for my modulars, and built up all black MILs plates so it's a more solid bar and looks a bit like the diorama sets. Would love official LEGO versions for the bottom on the MILS, although at this point I probably would bother changing out the old ones.
  20. I was putting together orders for some of the Bricklink MOC Pop up sets yesterday and kept running into an upper limit error on best seller parts, which was frustrating when trying to get to the GWP threshold. But it's seemingly not a specific number, with both being in the 900 parts range, but not the same. Got my Majisto and winter market stalls though. Now, will everything arrive before Christmas so I can build them over the holidays? Hmmm...
  21. Well that's irritating, as my order will be going in tonight when double VIP starts! Sigh. I don't think there was anything I really wanted though, so still comfortable with the decision to risk it.
  22. Actually, is the LEGO Movie sticker for the Palace Cinema the first modular building promo? LEGO 5002891 The LEGO Movie Poster Sticker | Brickset
  23. Agreed. Looks great!
  24. @kbalage has a great preview video up and addresses motorization. It's not designed to be motorized as it's too heavy. I'm sure someone can make it work! I really like it and will also get it. I hope it can be motorized reasonably though, as that is likely how my kids will love it.
