  1. I bought four. We're up to 20! Although all discounted at Walmart, so maybe only up to 18.
  2. My kids love the stickers in sets. JANG made a great comment a little while ago about how he sometimes views stickers as helpful. If a new part comes with a print, you lose versatility of the part, but with a sticker, you can choose not to apply it and use the new part for something else. Others would say that's a post-rationalization, but I liked the idea. I generally don't care about stickers, unless you expect a lot of interaction with the piece. The shutter stickers in this are fine, but the scroll sticker is disappointing, as it will likely get damaged when a minifigure holds the side of the scroll.
  3. Because they are very good at knowing how to maximize profit! In the past I've refused to be rushed to buy PaB pieces, but the really short shelf life of some of them is concerning. I don't feel compelled to get any of these without the double VIP or GWP though, but I may stay up late on Friday night to do it at midnight.
  4. Flower Pot Girl = spring Forest Elf = summer Mushroom Girl = autumn/fall So the logical conclusion should be 'pile of frozen sticks boy' = winter
  5. There is, isn't there? On the fire on the left-hand side? You can make it out clearly in R0Sch's render, but it's just visible above/behind the scroll tile in this picture:
  6. Oh! The 1x1 trans-yellow is the fire. I only saw one official image where Majisto blocks the other side of it. I suppose it's nice to be able to add a pot on it, but it doesn't look great, and it feels like they could have put at least one flame piece in there?
  7. Great point! Hopefully they continue as Insider add-on packs.
  8. There is a squirrel (dark orange) in the next VIP add-on pack, per Brick Clicker's latest video. He also says it may be the last one, which is kind of a shame, as these were always a source for good parts and animals at a pretty low spend threshold.
  9. Fair enough. The trim looks so much darker than Bright Blue, but could easily be the photo and/or my screen.
  10. It may be worth noting that: 1. LEGO is not going to change it gender balance policy on figures. 2. LEGO avoids controversial topics. If this topic about female knights comes up on the forums every single time a historical set is released, there's a chance someone at LEGO gets spooked and they cancel all future castle sets. The interior of the workshop looks really plain and is somewhat disappointing. I quite like the outside, but there's little value in it opening up, which is a shame.
  11. What colour do we think this is? I had originally assumed Earth Blue, but it looks too light for that. And in the Friends 42620 house, you can see the roof top is made of Earth Blue, but the side is a lighter blue. It's surely not Bright Blue, is it? It looks like the same colour as the Orient Express. Is this a new colour? Or Dark Royal Blue coming back?
  12. I wondered if it was from some of the new Friends sets, which look really cool. Or is it somehow in the ice Mario set?
  13. I love the colors too. What a great looking building. In about 20 minutes, you'll see BrickArtisan on Rebrickable posting a modular conversion. And then likely a load more designs. But I rather like it being open too. It matches the others in the series and encourages better play. Will probably convert it one day though, when my children are older.
  14. Price per minute is an excellent metric for assessing value! I love it. Some great insights in the review there.
  15. That's the question, isn't it? Is this to complete the exosuit figures, or will they bring the green torsos back in the side then next year? Tantalizing!
  16. This is an amazing list. Great work, thank you! Ha! My first thought was 'this is amazing'. My second thought was 'I thought the ant came in brown'.
  17. That looks good. It makes me wish the roof was eight or ten-wide to cover more of the structure, but still fold out. Good ground floor interior space, but not much up top, which is a shame. An extra stud of depth would be really useful. Great job on building it!
  18. BURPs are Beautiful Useful Rock Pieces, right?
  19. Agreed. It's not really a question of whether this is good or not, it's whether, for a retro set, they chose the right subject matter. I like the build they've done well enough. But it's not nearly as exciting as something else could have been, given the restrictions on parts availability.
  20. I don't know why this isn't a standard measure of any set. Can it be a mech? Pure genius, and a lovely build too. Nice review, thank you!
  21. I also bought just the instructions from the Bricklink MOC Pop-up Store, so I could take my time seeing what parts I already have. I need to do that with a few more, as the program will end in a week or so. It's somewhat frustrating that you can't get a CSV of the parts or add them to a wanted list, but they've said it's something they'll work on in the future, based on this pilot.
  22. Downtown Diner was what got me into the modulars too. It's so well done in many different ways. I have a lot of them now, and do enjoy the official sets. The price point compared to the cost of MOCs is very appealing too. But the variety that MOCs give you is excellent. I've done: LEGO MOC Botanical Garden by Berthil | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO LEGO MOC The University - Alternative to 71043 by BoltBuilds | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO LEGO MOC Gas Station by BrickAtive | Rebrickable - Build with LEGO And I've bought two of most of the other modulars as they are primate candidates for Rebrickable MOCs at a much more reasonable price than piecing together complete custom things like the Botanical Garden and Glass Workshop. At some point I may even try to do my own, but for now I'm happy to enjoy to creative genius of others. I also did a version of Bricky_Bricks' Car Wash from LEGO Ideas, which was a fun challenge to put together and it's definitely not nearly as stable as an official modular.
  23. I think it's alright. That's a bit damning with faint praise, but that's what it is - alright. It's decently sized for a GWP and it hopefully has some decent interior space. I also don't have any nostalgia tied to this set, or Dragon Knights. The main question is why they chose this set, if it couldn't have the things that made it unique originally, and who not something else that would have been easier to pull off. But outside of the figures, it seems to recreate a classic set well. I would have preferred something that was more of a modern remake like LKC, PoBB, or Galaxy Explorer, rather than trying to replicate the original set, like Eldorado Fortress. But LEGO is sort of damned if you do and damned if you don't to a certain extent. I look forward to some cool MOCs around it though.
  24. Will do! It will probably be a Christmas project, so may take a while.
  25. Not in the US. The Winter Wonderland pack was available only in Europe as a VIP reward, not a GWP like all the others. Winter Wonderland VIP Add-On Pack 40514 | Other | Buy online at the Official LEGO® Shop GB
