    I don't think you're trying hard enough ;) That would be pretty cool. I enjoy seeing people colour swap the Book Shop house to create a rainbow row. It's very pretty and I can see that being particularly successful.

    I noticed that the 68887 pig (light purple/bright pink, 6308842) has been removed from Bricks and Pieces. And yet it was there a month ago. Is this one of those ones to call customer service about? Why would they remove it when other, similar, animals are still available?

    I can easily see the logic of this set. There are a very large number of adult Harry Potter fans out there who don't buy LEGO generally, but would be delighted to get this really very impressive set for $250. The pandemic has brought many people to home-based activities that LEGO is great for. The same happened with the FRIENDS Ideas set too. I think it looks great and is well executed. I appreciate it as a set and think it's great that people will no doubt have a fun building experience and enjoy a wonderful model afterwards. Although I personally won't get it as I prefer the minifig scale sets for HP (and yet I really like the buildable models in the Ideas line).

    I've been building the Ice Castle 43197 and was delighted to build the Mickey logo in the foundations. Fun little details that you wouldn't expect.

    Picked up the final two series 1 bandmates that I wanted this evening. Hoping that the beat boxes get a decent discount, but not worth it at RRP.

    @Brick Clicker has a video out saying there will be a dedicated Winter Village set this year. $100. Set 10293. No piece count or name. Launched mid-September.

    It isn't surprising, but it is a shame. The app is fundamentally flawed though, with terrible performance. And the fact that it was an integral part of using anything released in the first wave was foolish, as there was nothing else to do with the first wave products. I don't understand why they didn't release some/all of the second wave sets initially. That gives you something to build and play with, so it's not quite such a terrible disappointment when you try and use the app. I really like some of the figures. And most of the sets are tremendous. Maybe they can drop the app and music licenses and make this a Friends/Fabuland mix at a lower price point.

    Hopefully they've been able to retain both the look of it and the play features. I assume that they've made it doll's house style, as with Sesame Street. I really liked Sesame Street, but will $100 be just a bit too small? I suppose it' unlikely to have unique moulds, and the licensing costs may not be as high as it's an old property that's not ongoing? Looking forward to seeing what they'll do.

    Is it worth noting that the production capacity for the Bricklink sets is likely down to how they are being produced? I'm sure I read, but can't find it now, that although the elements are coming from LEGO, it's Bricklink who are packaging it all up. So it won't be the large scale automated production you get with regular LEGO sets. Although you could make the argument why not crowdfund without a limit and then determine the most appropriate way to produce the sets based on the volume of orders. But it seems pretty clear that they weren't expecting this level of demand, but the plans have already been made, so they are somewhat constrained.

    I keep seeing the same Facebook Marketplace listing for the Bricklink Castle in the Forest. A mere $520. That alone annoys me. But in this case, the seller says 'Lucky got 5 sets. Would like to share to those who also want a set of this'. Frustrating the way they've framed it as trying to share and be helpful, for only a small service fee of $350!

    While the set numbers may have been much higher than the limit, we don't really know how they compare with standard sets. Critically, even if they have potentially left millions of dollars of revenue on the table, the key metric for them is maximizing profit. And these sets likely aren't anywhere near the top of the profitability list (per set). And it sounds like it's a pretty manual process for sorting and packing. So to produce more for this program they're using up resources on less profitable activities. What I really hope is that they see this as genuine demand for these kinds of sets and they do a full-on Ideas project or Creator Expert one.

    Totally get the logistics argument. It's the scarcity value one that puzzles me. But yes, hopefully this sends a signal that this is an approach LEGO can take for even more sets/styles/approaches like this. Things that are cool and we likely wouldn't get otherwise. They can make a lot of money without the hassle of retail distribution and partner costs.

    I know we'll never get them, but it would be interesting to see the comparable sales figures for the Creator 3 in 1 castle set. And, if they ever do another one of these, with all of the castles that are in the current Ideas review (and bound to be rejected), I wonder if all five would also sell out. I also find it curious that part of their rationale for limiting the sets is because people value the exclusivity. Yes, some people do. But I suspect most just want a really nice castle set and it really doesn't matter how many others there are. No one complains that there are too many modulars produced, for example, and there's likely a large overlap in the people who get them and want a castle set.

    Well, this is interesting. BrickLink has tweeted: BrickLink Designer Program Round 1: We've read your comments and frustrations shared, and we hear you! Please stay tuned for an update next week. The BrickLink Team Does this mean they'll be producing more of each set? I suspect it will be hard to cancel pre-orders to free up some sets. And I really hope that it's not just a vague attempt to improve things for the next funding round (but at least that would be something).

    The Ideas GWP sailing boat is now on IG. Very blurry picture, but looks decent. Hope they make a few more of them compared with the Vintage car.

    I managed to order the castle, fishing boat, pursuit of flight, and kakapo. I really hope they up the maximum number of castle sets - probably the fishing boats too. Seems such a shame for there to be an incredibly high demand and then limit it. I understand there are logistical issues with trying to fulfill all of those sets, but why not do another 5000 for release in spring 2020 perhaps?
