  1. I managed to get two of the Santa's sleighs at the Legoland Discovery store near me. I don't normally get things as soon as they come out, but it occurred to me that these might not be produced again, like the other small festive sets they do each year, and it's pretty shocking how quickly they're going.
  2. Thanks. It's much easier when it's all just on a single shelf, rather than a proper city layout.
  3. The only way they can be sure they'll be discounted sufficiently to sell out quickly? It's going to make getting a fresh box a pain for those that want all of them.
  4. Yes, although much more expensive. On BnP, they're usually around $2 each. But through BAM, each element is $0.67 each, so if you want a few, it's much better value. Definitely lucked out with the selection at the moment.
  5. Interesting, thanks. Although most of these are for my five year old daughter. She loves the animals, and you don't get many outside of city sets, which we don't have. So BAM is a great alternative. I really liked some of the figures they have at the moment too.
  6. That's a shame. It was refreshing when they were so flexible, but I assumed it was just LEGO being helpful, as they often are (at least, from a custom service perspective).
  7. They still have the figures made up but said I can have 15 pieces, with figures as 4. So yes, got one with just animals. Very pleased.
  8. They revised it and said January shipping for the first 5000 and then June for the second batch.
  9. Some great elements in my local BAM in Boston, USA. The tan guitar is a BAM exclusive according to BrickLink, but isn't on the front page list, if you want to add it.
  10. LEGO announced a few months ago that they were pausing the theme to rework it. It will probably come back in a year or two. That could be a simple revision all the way up to completely changing the concept. No one really knows. https://brickset.com/article/60698/official-statement-regarding-vidiyo
  11. Promobricks are saying that it's 123cm long. https://www.promobricks.de/lego-10294-titanic-erstes-bild/131449/
  12. It does look very cool. I can't see myself getting it, but I will hopefully see it in a store, and be delighted for those that enjoy it. Very impressive. I hope they've managed to get some interior detail in there.
  13. I suspect you know this already, but I'm not convinced by the iceberg GWP. Partly because it's in terrible taste and LEGO wouldn't do it. Partly it's that it has no reason to be so blurry other than to mask it being created. Partly it's because the box 3D angles are very worryingly wrong. But mostly it's that someone has very obviously, and very basically, cropped the Titanic logo from the real leak and slapped it onto a crappy box. It does have brick built penguins though, so at least they've tried to be consistent with the chariot.
  14. That's a good idea. Reduces the risk of it all coming apart.
  15. No, thank you! It's so lovely. And the other builds you have are awesome. One day I will attempt another.
  16. Not an official set, but a MOC by @Berthil that I was delighted to complete recently. Fits really nicely and well worth checking out if anyone wants a botanical garden. Free instructions on Rebrickable - https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-26998/BrickPolis/botanical-garden
  17. Just wanted to express my thanks to @Berthil for the instructions for this. I've spent almost a year getting the parts together, but it's finally complete. What a great model! I made a few changes from the original. Some colour tweaks, like the flowers and the tiled floors. Added a layer of tiles/jumpers so that I could remove the structure to access everything inside, and an iron flower at the front in place of a sign. But it really is fabulous, and I'm very pleased to add it. If anyone wants to try it, you absolutely should - https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-26998/BrickPolis/botanical-garden/
  18. Same. My August 1 and August 14 orders both shipped after two weeks.
  19. It's magnificent! My vote has already been added to the project. I hope it gets through!
  20. You forgot museum... And, while we're at it, remake.
  21. The Mini Disney Castle 40478 has gone up on lego.com - https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/mini-disney-castle-40478 Releasing October 1 as suspected and costing $35.
  22. I think the stacking aethestics are even more limited. Personally I can't see the Parisian Restaurant looking great (on the 32x32 base) with more floors. It's too narrow. But yes, maybe one extra is OK. Others could feasibly be much taller and still look OK. Although in general I'm not a fan of the builds that just combine loads of sets into one giant one. I admire those that do it, but there's an elegance in the LEGO official models, with all their differences and detail, that's hard to replicate when you multiple things up. Really good point on the weight! Might be fun to try it out one day though. But far less fun if it fails Very good point. In the article on StoneWars about the Creator 2022 set names, they specially called out how that's not such great news for Jonas (the designer, who is also one of the Editors at StoneWars). But it was a different author, so maybe they don't know (yet)? As good a model as it is, I personally preferred the Roman Warship from the last review, but that was rejected. It felt like a more impressive build and display piece, which seems to be the tone for the Ideas sets. But what do I know? Inevitably people get disappointed with the results, but then generally are delighted with the final products. It's a fun journey to go on.
  23. I saw an interview with Mike Psiaki when the Corner Garage came out where he specifically mentioned this. The CG is designed to have the middle floor replicated. It should technically work with the others, but as you say, it won't always look brilliant. But that also comes down the buildings. Palace Cinema is clearly a thing and wouldn't be a high rise in real life. But for some of the others it's both easy and appropriate. You then just have to figure the fine line between whether it's more expensive to buy just the pieces needed for the middle floor or buy a whole new set for it!
  24. Rebrickable has a review up - https://rebrickable.com/blog/411/review-10291-1-queer-eye-the-fab-5-loft/ It's regretfully negative, pointing out some things that they were disappointed by but wanted to like, which is a shame. In different news, the clothes swap torsos do come with hands, so they have been removed in the LEGO press photos (which makes sense).
  25. This looks fabulous! Really nicely done and lots of fun. I used to swap the hands on figures all the time as a kid, so it will help rekindle my youth!
