  1. Although seeing them all standing next to each other in the official photo, it would have looked really odd for Pooh to have mid-legs relative to the rest, as Piglet would look bigger than Pooh. But either way, to me it's minor quibbles. I think it's great.
  2. Agreed, So hopefully something comes along in the not too distant future that gives us that colour mid-legs.
  3. I'm not complaining at all. To be clear, I will end up getting the ice skating rink, city fire helicopter, AND the vintage car. I just find it odd that they're sending me stuff that they didn't promise to send me. I ordered within the time period they said the offer would be going, but that was always 'while stock lasts' and then they sent me the updated GWP that they started advertising. It was more just to say that maybe they have made another batch, to be shipping me one in March, and it gives hope to those that couldn't get one first time around. I already got one of the cars on Jan 1 when I ordered the police station. I will likely give this new spare to a friend who couldn't get one at the time. They're really lovely.
  4. It looks glorious! Great looking build, and delightful playset. Agreed that Pooh's leg and Piglet's scale really do appear to be the weakest parts. And Pooh's legs should be an easy fix, although it might be even better with mid-legs. Not much you can do with Piglet's scale in Minifig form, but you probably wouldn't want him to use the baby mold. But in isolation he's excellent too. Really looking forward to building this with my four year old. She'll love it! (So will I).
  5. I had an invoice notification from LEGO today for some Bricks and Pieces I ordered on January 25. Really looking forward to getting those. But then I had another invoice notification for the GWP Ideas Vintage Car. Then a FedEx notice saying that a package was coming from LEGO US to be, arriving by Friday (so it's not the Bricks and Pieces order). So I looked at the order, and it was after they'd sold out of Vintage Cars and were offering the Ice Skating Rink instead, and the City Fire Helicopter, both of which I got with the Jurassic Park T. Rex Rampage set I ordered. So, bizarrely, they're now sending me a GWP that wasn't available when I ordered, and didn't show up on my original order, but has since been added to that order. Maybe they've done another production run of them? Maybe we'll see them again? But it's really odd.
  6. Promobricks thinks it will launch got VIPs mid-March. They have the trailer video too. https://www.promobricks.de/lego-21326-winnie-the-pooh-teaser/118800/
  7. LEGO retains the rights to then for three years, during which you cannot profit from them, but you can share the designs, parts, instructions for free. Understandably, there is little incentive to do this, but some do. The designers of the Saturn V made a follow-up with the launch pad, that got to 10k but was rejected. They posted everything online. And it was promtly made, very badly, by a knock off company.
  8. In the US are there any decent places people recommend looking for Lego below MSRP? I've seen a few HP sets for the standard 20% off at Target, Amazon, and Walmart, but infrequently. Where else should I be looking? Also, been sorting through a second hand haul this afternoon with my four year old. Many friends sets, and a few City things, but also done of the old Potter line. Definitely feels like things have moved on a lot. So for the anniversary wave, I hope they don't go back too much in terms of prints especially. And in other news, going through a haul of second hand stuff that's mostly friends with some old Potter thrown in, I found this combo, and realized that he wasn't evil, he just needed a good hairdo. https://flic.kr/ps/3VWdWg
  9. Looks cool. Is it supposed to be a time machine?
  10. Would be nice. Could even do something with figures that could move around. Mechanical bits to move people through the secret corridors, or have hiding places. Areas that open up, like the RoR or shrieking shack.
  11. How about, both rising to the hype AND lowering expectations at the same time, a nanoscale UCS Dobby's Sock. Incredible complexity, executed with a mere 19 pieces. Two of which are new moulds. Or, a macroscale version of the printed tile? 3156 pieces all put together to perfectly represent a 1x2 tile with sock print. Using the old grey.
  12. Going the Hidden Side Shrimp Shack 70422 today for 25% off. Having seen several great MOCs that incorporate it into a Ninjago City extension, I picked it up. I'm going to make a custom version of the docks that connects the City and Gardens.
  13. But would that do this without the trio? Sounds pretty unlikely.
  14. That looks great!
  15. It's a shame that the Ferris wheel appears to use the same colour scheme as the Creator Expert one. It's a good colour scheme, but maybe a missed opportunity to do something different. The alternative builds look really different though, which is great.
  16. Just seen the images, and while they don't look amazing, the same sentiment is generally true for all leaked images, isn't it? The images leak with poor/preliminary images, and everyone hates them. Then the sets launch with good photos and more detail, and they're generally loved. Except Star Wars. We've not seen the interiors yet, so they may be great, although the relatively low piece count might make that hard. And the mismatch of Fluffy's moulded heads with a very obviously brick-built body is odd. But decent lighting, proper colouring, and higher resolutions for the images may do wonders for the sets. So maybe there's hope that things look better in the summer?
  17. True. Yesterday we had Unikitty turn the detectives office into a tyre factory and then build a radio tower and bell to catch a their trying to hide and steak the tyres. It was fun.
  18. Ha! Some things fall off. Some things get purposely removed. Many things get added. It is all part of the fun. But just wanted to share a data point that they're definitely also playsets.
  19. My four year old loves playing with them. And no doubt will with the blacksmith shop too. They are definitely playsets. Same with Friends Central Perk.
  20. These are lovely. I can understand trying to go for the lowest price point possible for Hogsmeade, but it would be so nice if the building were this detailed.
  21. I heard made up that they're going to finally break the 10,000 piece count and surpass the Colosseum with the extra Ultimate UCS Dobby's Sock. The designer videos have all given hints. It's pretty obvious, if you follow the threads.
  22. I know it's the wrong theme, but the new Monkie Kid 80024 The Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain is glorious, and I feel like it would perfectly accompany the Gardens. https://www.brickfanatics.com/continue-the-legend-with-more-lego-monkie-kid-2021-sets-revealed/ Also watching Just2Good's review of 71747 Keepers' Village has won me around to getting it. Initially I thought it was great, but then more photos, especially the box art, make it look very small. Seeing it in the video though makes it feel a decent size.
  23. Either way, it's very nicely done. I've seen a few others that use a similar approach, and it feels like a perfect technique for a LEGO set. Fun to build, display, and play with.
  24. Wow! Had loads of leaves, but never animals.
  25. It's a really good way of getting parts. BrickLink has more choice because you'll find everything there, compared to a more limited selection of stuff on the LEGO website (bizarrely), but LEGO does have a lot and, critically, they probably have more than any one BrickLink store, plus, if you order enough in total (including just regular sets), then you get free shipping. So it can work out much better value compared to BrickLink where you'll probably have to pay shipping from multiple stores. It's always worth checking. One other caveat is that shipping times can take a while. Usually it's a couple of weeks, but at the moment it's taking up to two months to arrive.
