  1. The face is nice, great use of those boulder pieces!
  2. By my beard, the moustached pirate on the sticker book cover looks great! Cool torso! Green epaulettes! Brown goggles! Hope he looks same on the set form.
  3. I though it was a real city photograped from air at first - Truly impressive display, very realistic.
  4. By the way: Are the dark blue shells on Gali 5M?
  5. The fog looks very good, and the use of 4x4 roof tops is nice too. This chapter name has always been one of my favorites on LOTR.
  6. The newet creation from the Dwarf Factory: Thrór, King Under The Mountain. Thorin's grandfather. I wanted to build Thrór on his throne, like a mountain himself. The head was built on January, probably, but I had to wait until I got my LUGBULK with all the sand green. Tricky parts here included the frame around the Arkenstone (which lights up, naturally) and the layering of the angled details on the cloths (the upper part of Thrór is held on the rest with a single ball joint). More photos on the blog. Enjoy.
  7. Forfhuarú, gel of icicles, frost and winds of winter. Not much backstory here, probably goddes or personification of wintery things. Based on some piece uses, like trans-icy-blue double sockets, Kopaka's shield halves and Nuju Hordika's axes. Honestly around 60% SYSTEM though. More on the blog. Enjoy.
  8. By my beard, these are awesome! I can already think so many uses to the new teeth, it seems to be an universally usable piece for shaping, being 1x1 piece. The pirate mixels seem all to be worth of getting, both as a parts packs and set designs, they are very creative. The crab/chest one has 8 of those golden claw pieces, great deal. The hospital ones are pretty scary, especially the tooth one... Nightmare material indeed. The firefighters are not that interesting, liking the big-mouthed one though. Musical ones are neat, liking the drum kit especially. On the castle ones, the cyclops horse stands out. And it was about time to get a catapult on this theme too... The police ones are alright, the jail guy is pretty strange in a good way.
  9. Hmm. On 2001 masks, there are none I would really dislike. All of them are great. Some, like Miru or Noble Huna or Pakari are very awesome and still evergreen in their design. The Nuva masks from 2002 on the other hand are mostly rather ugly. I think Hau Nuva looks alright and Kakama Nuva has funny hairstyle and cool moustache, but they are pretty far from the biomechanical looks of 2001 and Kaukau Nuva looks like a hippo that had ran into a wall. Metru masks were alright. Some better than others, but none too terrible and none too awesome. Great Komau has a funny shape and Matatu and Mahiki have some great character on them. Inika rubbery things were mostly bad. Iden was cool though and Nuparu's mask - can't recall the name - had rather spiffy design, if not very Bionicle-ish. Mahri masks were good, better than anything since 2001, especially Arthorn, Faxon and Zatth. 2008 masks were mostly average, I quite liked the new Kakama and Axalara version of Miru, but Mistika masks were mostly bad (everything in Toa Mistika was mostly bad). Makuta masks were pretty cool, though less usable than the Toa ones, being so... monstorous? Glatorian-Apes had few good mask; Tarduk's, Gelu's, Vorox's and Zesk's. But I have, again, problems recalling these. Smaller Iginka looked always better than the big on to me. In conclusion, I think the best Gen1 masks are Noble Huna, Pakari and Miru, and Kaukau Nuva is the worst. Suletu, Calix and Elda were pretty darn bad too. Hero Factory? Core Hunter's face is fantastic. Really great, I'd say. Scarox's face is quite cool too, despite being lame set otherwise. And Aquagon is spiffy. On the bad ones, I never liked the 2.0 helmets, And Bruizer. There's nothing good on Bruizer, honestly. Gen2? New Akaku, that someones call mask of ice, is great, even better than the original. New kakama is great too, and The Mask of Creation is simply beutifully designed. On the bad ones, I never liked the new Miru, and against common opinion I don't like new Kaukau neither.
  10. Thanks guys! Now when you said that...
  11. Excellent! The proportions are good. I also like the torso built using two Vahki/Kohliitoran torso pieces, those things tend to be rather tricky to use on anything. The photos are nice too, especially liking the first four poses.
  12. Thanks! It's Belville saddle: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=6185#T=C
  13. Space Baron! Steltian Aristocrat! Doctor in Odontology! Count of Victory's Tooth! Honorary Doctor in Odontology! Founder of Victory Corporation! More on Cyclopic Bricks.
  14. My newest Discworld build (which are both here and the Other Themes Subforum...), The next Discworld character is Sir Samuel Vimes, His Excellency, His Grace Duke of Ankh, The Blackboard Monitor and the Commander of Ankh-Morpork City Watch. Sam is here in his trusted old Night Watch uniform with dim and rugged breastplate, slightly rusty chainmail and second-hand boots. I also built a baton as it felt like suitable copper accessory. More can be found on the blog. Enjoy!
  15. Toa Deleva is a half-KAL, half Toa of Plasma. He was ripped in half by Skakdi maradeurs and fixed with experimental KAL technology by Dark Hunters in Odina. The hunters were a bit daft, though. They didn't take his mask of speed away, so he simply ran out of the fortress. Well done, that man. Splitface's torso armor was the starting point here. The shaping of the (more) organic side is my favorite part here. The round HF armor add-on is a wonderful piece. More on Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!
  16. Loving the details. Nice, clean and interesting. The lime spots on the grass make it look lively. Great use of the four-end lug tool as the cross too.
  17. So, Wuzzo has the king mixel? I might want to pick it up, the face tile is priceless, and the pearl gold 2x2 jumper tile looks useful.
  18. Susan Sto Helit, granddaughter of Death and the substitute Grim Reaper from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel Soul Music. I threwn in The Death of Rats too. That felt necessary. More on Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!
  19. Oook. Oook. Oook. Oook.
  20. I quite like Ruru here, it gives nice overall shape and makes the MOC whole lot interesting. Probably throwing a white boat stud under the forehead gap could improve its flow. Boat studs, in general, are awesome pieces.
  21. The bat wings look spectacular with Drilldozer's helmet. The colors are great too, the teal katanas look neat.
  22. My newest character build, The Dean of Unseen University from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld books: The Dean's fat, vicious and hungry for food and power. He's also prone to external influences, and made a leather coat with "Born to rune" written on it during the onslaught of Music With Rocks In. It's naturally included here. With my previous Discworld character build, Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully: More on Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!
  23. No backstory behind this MOC. Happy with it overall, though. The head was a tricky, but it eventually became probably my favorite feature of this. +30 photos on Cyclopic Bricks.
  24. The feet look very nice. I'm also glad you took the gold off, never liked that neither. The bulkier hands fit a lot better than the wee basic fists. The upper legs are neat too, I use similar designs rather often. I'd probably beef the middle torso a bit, especially under the armpits and behind the lower part of the chest plate.. The problem is not huge (compared to the set) but that would emphasis the iconic bulkiness of Onua.
  25. Three of my four gargoyles turned out to be flies... Luckily I managed to sell the extra flys to a member of our LUG. And I though I was good at this! Well, got to return and search for the 'goyles again. That aside, this feels like an excellent series. The gargoyle is definitely the star here, but banshee (loving the hair) and fly man (though having too many of him) come close. I felt like half of the figures on the box would have been pirate zombies, though.
