  1. Looking at this entry I probably need to alter the rules: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=96449 This is not what we're looking for. It needs to be a TECHNIC mini model. You can use some "normal" Lego parts for decoration, but we don't want a 95% brickbuilt model. So I'm afraid I will have to change Model Team to: NO! Otherwise it might be too confusing. I buy Mini sets, because they are cheap and fun to build. But let's not start that discussion here. This is a mini contest. Later this year we will have a big contest with unlimited parts and stuff.
  2. This isn't a Technic Mini Model, sorry. I do like it, but it doesn't qualify.
  3. I was a bit in doubt about Model Team, but I couldn't have answered it better than you did Model Team is allowed, but like I said in the intro; imagine this would be an official LEGO Technic Mini model. Of course!! Welcome to EB by the way I wasn't anticipating Technic Figs in a Mini Model. The scale doesn't match. So pneumatics are allowed, Model Team is allowed, but the contest is really about making an official Lego Technic Mini Model, for example: Keep that in mind when you build something. Building a small Model Team MOC is great, but will you be seeing it on the shelf as a Technic set?! Including pneumatics is great, but have you ever seen this in a Technic Mini model?! Try to keep the scale and style in sync with other Technic Mini Models. The promo image shows three models, all of which are perfect examples of great mini models.
  4. Let's see...sure. Normally mini models don't have Pneumatics, but I'll make an exception.
  5. Thanks Polo-Freak! Merged the topics.
  6. I'm afraid I got really attached to my copy. Otherwise I would send it right away Sweet! Didn't know that. Something with dark ages and stuff Thanks for the info.
  7. Hi, Welcome to EB! I know there is a topic about motorizing the 42000. Let me see if I can find it.
  8. I have removed the "no photoshop" rule, since I always use Lightroom (or Photoshop) to enhance my own images. As long as you are not changing colors of bricks, I'm fine with a little improvement for the presentation. Indeed: "as long as it doesn't obscure/alter the model" No virtual builds, sorry. That's for LDD contests. (I've added it to the rules, thanks) Thanks. I'm anticipating a lot of entries Read the rules and you will know (no you can't)
  9. Sure....but that will take a month or so I have a 42009 still in the box and both other flagships are broken down to parts.
  10. Sure! But I need some time. Will do this as soon as possible.
  11. Hi Peter, Welcome to EB! Including dedicated B-model stickers is indeed quite uncommon (afaik). I also have some insights about the steps on the left side of the vehicle, which I have updated in the review. The steps used to be on both sides, but they removed them on the left side. STEPS The image of the real Volvo on the inside of the box shows the steps on the left side of the vehicle, while they are mounted on the right side of the LEGO version. After some research I found out that the L350F used to have the steps on both sides of the cab, but it was not a safe solution for the operator when he had to climb up the steps into the cab with a lunch box. So late last year Volvo changed the design and eliminated the steps on the left side and made the steps on the rear fender standard. Another cool feature that Volvo included was the “remote door opener”, so as the operator approaches the machine, he presses the remote door opener and the door opens automatically and the entrance lights shine down on the steps for additional safety when climbing into the cab when it is dark.
  12. Because I want it to reflect an official Technic mini model. These are simple models without PF or other Electronics. Plus, I'd like to see some manual creativity I have made an small alteration to the rules; the parts picture needs to be of all the parts, spread out on a surface. That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used.
  13. Nice and quick entry! I do need a part count though! Also I have changed the rule a bit, stating that you need to disassemble it totally and spread out the parts for a parts picture. Luckily you will have 7 weeks to do that
  14. No more than 200 parts in total. If you can build three models out of that, I'm fine with it. Although I prefer a single model. You can post a gazillion pictures in your WIP and Entry topic, but I will use your primary promo image in the Voting topic.
  15. Mini is indeed because of the part count. No limits in dimension.
  16. Great to see you again Let me take a look at the rules. Otherwise we will need to bend or break them. You need to be EB member to be in the HoF, but it happens that someone else has started the topic. I'm fine with that. I changed the rules
  17. Thanks Barman! Always nice to hear it's appreciated.
  18. @HoraceT and @Kieran the contest is running for about 7 weeks. I am sure you will find some time Cool!!
  19. A new contest with fantastic prizes has been started in the Technic Forum! Build a LEGO Technic model with no more than 200 LEGO parts. Click on the image below to find out what it's all about and how you can join.
  20. MINI BUILD I promised we would do more contests this year, so I'm sorry for the delay, but here it is.....a new contest. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic model with a maximum of 200 LEGO parts! Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. DEADLINE Contest closes on August 1st, 2014. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Maximum of 200 parts. 199 or less is okay, 200 is okay, 201 is NOT okay. Chain links and tracks DO count toward the part limit. Every part counts (mini turntable is two parts, just like in a real set) NO Electronics (PF, Mindstorms, etc) are allowed. Only official LEGO parts. No chrome unless it's official LEGO (see previous rule) Ropes/Strings, rubber bands and pneumatic tubing need to be official LEGO parts. Set must have at least one, preferably more, functions. Aesthetics do count. NO Model Team. Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set (also see previous two rules). GENERAL RULES AND RESTRICTIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Voting is only allowed for existing members (which means member date before start date of contest) If there's a tie my vote and Blakbird's will count twice. If there's still a tie, Staff members will decide who wins. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals (stickers) will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a WIP topic for discussion purposes and create a post in the entry topic. WIP TOPIC A WIP topic beginning with [MINI]. ENTRY POST The entry post (in the soon to be created entry topic) should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions. Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) The part image needs to show all the parts used in the model. I need a picture showing all the separate parts! That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. PRIZES The prize winners may choose between selected prizes. 1st PRIZE The winner can choose between 42006, 42023, 42024 and 42028 (if available). (or choose a smaller set of choice) 2nd PRIZE The runner-up can choose between 42007 and 42022. (or choose a smaller set of choice) 3rd PRIZE The bronze medalist can choose between 42026, 42027 and 42012. (or choose another set with a maximum of 25 euro) Special thanks to TLG's Community Support Team for providing these awesome prizes!
