General Part Discussion
Jim replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Technically, these are Bionicle But seriously, I found out about the first part recently, when I checked a review for a bionicle set. Never knew it existed.- 5,478 replies

General Part Discussion
Jim replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Always wondered why this part hasn't been used in Technic. Okay, it's not the most versatile part, but still.... Same goes for this one by the way- 5,478 replies

Technic Hall of Fame Discussion
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It probably means nothing. It's just to reserve posts. When you post within 15 minutes (or something), the posts are merged as a single post. That's something you don't want. I normally use RFU for this. -
Model Team Contest voting has started! Please cast your vote in the voting topic. Be aware that we are using (old) Formula One style voting, as explained in the first post.
-
The bike is probably the most original build, but since the contest is Model Team, I feel that 3, 7 and 1 should be on the podium. 3: 10 7: 6 1: 4 8: 3 10: 2 6: 1

MODEL TEAM VOTING TOPIC This topic will be used as a voting topic for the Model Team contest. VOTING RULES AND REGULATIONS Voting scheme uses the old Formula One style point distribution (10, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 POINT) You need to assign 10 points to the 1st place, 6 points to the second and so one. You need to vote for 6 ENTRIES (no more, no less) Clearly mention the ENTRY NUMBER and the NUMBER OF POINTS per entry that you vote on. If you joined Eurobricks after the start of the contest, you can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected) You may NOT vote for your own entry. In the event of a tie for any place the Technic Staff will decide which entry wins. Our decision is final. Questions about voting can be asked in the Model Team Contest Information. For example (entries randomly chosen for example): --- comments can be placed above the votes 5: 10 (no comments here please) 6: 6 1: 4 9: 3 7: 2 3: 1 Or comments can be placed below the votes ---- NOTES Please use this exact notation NUMBER: VOTES (with a colon). Please use this thread only for voting. You may explain why you made your choice, but any general discussion should take place in the Model Team Contest Information Topic. Comments should be placed ABOVE or BELOW the votes. Please don't comment on the same line as the votes. VOTING CRITERIA The idea about this contest is to create a Model Team model which reflects the old school Model Team style using a modern approach. Indirectly this means you need to look at the following criteria: Design Functionality Color scheme Parts used Playability ENTRIES All entries can be found in the entry thread: Please visit the entry topic to see all entries. 1. 1980 Red Trans Am 2. Renault FT-17 Tank 3. James Bond Lotus Esprit 4. 1973 Renault 17 5. VW T1 Dragster 6. 1930s Ford Rat Rod 7. Ford Fiesta [MK6] ST150 8. Octan GT 9. Three-axle Compact Crane 10. Camper Tricycle 11. SMC Roadster Good luck!

[MT] Camper Tricycle
Jim replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Seriously?!?! Dude, you rock What an awesome creation. I won't frontpage it now, since it might affect the voting, but I will defintely keep this one on my backlog! -
Deadline on Saturday is pretty subjective, so let's be clear about what a deadline is first. By deadline Monday I meant you will have the entire Sunday and I will close it Monday morning. So if you want to build the entire Saturday, the deadline will be Sunday morning. I figured; since you all like building in the weekend, why not extend it to Monday, instead of Sunday. I do know all about finishing just in time before deadlines I will leave the deadline for this contest as it is. I'm trying to figure out the best closing day for future contests!

Hi, Welcome to EB....uhhh....sort of hehe. Nice to see you posting. You might want to check out this topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88763 I will merge this topic with this topic soon. -
Having more time in the weekend is exactly why I close the contest on Friday (actually Saturday morning) Like you said, I take some time on Saturday to creating the voting topic etc. I can close it on Monday and wait till the next Saturday to make the voting topic etc, but why wouldn't I give people the extra 5 days to some work. In my opinion people appreciate it that voting starts right after closing the contest, instead of waiting another week. Isn't it simply a matter of managing your own deadline?! Set it to the weekend before the actual deadline, instead of waiting for the last moment. It's not that I'm not giving you guys enough time to build. But If the majority prefers a deadline on Monday and opening of the voting topic the following Saturday....fine be me. For me it's six of one and half a dozen of the other So: Do you want me to set the next deadline to a Monday, so you can use the entire last weekend? Possible side effect is that the voting won't start until the next Friday or Saturday. Managing deadlines Cool, thanks Cool, thanks

It's a very cool creation, but it is indeed a shame that the motors tend to make the robot operate very slowly.
