  1. Hmmm you are saying that you are only using 90% of the parts, because you don't own more? I didn't think of that scenario. I figured you guys would collect all the parts and then start building.
  2. I'm not convinced it has HoG steering with the smooth knob on top of the cabin. There will obviously be more friction than regular steering, so why use a smooth knob?!
  3. Great entry! You used a lot of parts. Nice that you took a picture of the leftover parts. That might be interesting for the entry post. Nice clear pictures by the way. Well done
  4. Looking at BusterHaus' entry, I figured it is cool to have a picture of the leftover pieces in your entry post. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101589 So I hereby declare the need to take a picture of the leftover parts I will clearly state it in the entry topic.
  5. I've seen it at Legoworld. It's an engineering marvel. The level of detail is oustanding. And it works like a charm!
  6. Indeed, imposing a certain limit increases creativity There are no limits, but you are probably/hopefully right about the voting.
  7. Hehe I was seriously contemplating on doing my first C-modelling with the bike......making an......Avatar helicopter Looking forward to what you come up with. I bet you'll do better than I would
  8. Some people got a spare 32L in the 42009 (I didn't).
  9. Three times the same answer.....it must be the right one
  10. Hi Rusty, Welcome to EB. Great that you joined. Maybe I shouldn't have posted it like that. Normally I create the entry topic later on and in the first post I describe what's needed. Since most of us here more or less know what's expected, I alread created the empty entry topic. So there's no need to "reserve" a post. That's confusing, my bad. I will lock the topic and unlock it when I have a full description in the first post. When you are ready with your creation you can create a full post in the entry topic (which can be edited until the contest has been closed). Looking forward to your entry
  11. I'm afraid you can't use the same set twice. But you will figure out a way to use a single 42001 and a small other set.
  12. @Alasdair: You can't use the same set twice mate http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101578entry2036914
  13. C-MODEL CONTEST ENTRY TOPIC This is the entry topic for the Technic C-Model Contest. DESCRIPTION Build an alternate LEGO Model out of one or two existing LEGO Technic sets. The total part count for the set(s) you use can't exceed 600, so you can either use a single set containing 600 parts or less or use two (different) sets with a combined part count of 600 or less. You can't use 600 parts of a 1200 part set. Since 2005 is the year I came out of my dark ages, I am also imposing a release date limit. The set(s) need to be released in the year 2005 or later. DEADLINE Deadline date is November 30th, 2014. Contest will be closed on Monday the 1st, so you will have the entire Sunday to build. CONTEST INFORMATION More information about the contest can be found in the general discussion topic. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? Please take a careful look at the rules before posting in this topic. Each participant is obliged to create a post in this entry topic. Posts need to follow the rules stated below. Posts not following the rules will be disqualified so please read them carefully. ENTRY POST The entry post should contain: Name of your model Picture(s) of the original model(s) Short summary of the functions/features One or more (max 5) pictures of your model Link to your [TC5] topic Optional picture of leftover parts Optional video of your model IMPORTANT This topic should be used for entries only, so commenting is prohibited. Please use the general discussion topic for comments on the entries.
  14. Not sure if I understand correctly, but why do you need change to drive the red 8T gear? Isn't it possible to use a second axle all the way to the top to drive the 8T gear?
  15. For me, a decent C-model has nothing to do with size. Having more parts, means having more options, but that doesn't mean you will do better in the contest. Why not have fun with the two sets you do have?
  16. Nope, that's not allowed. Bricklink, Brickset and Rebrickable all show more than 600 parts.
  17. I concur. This is absolutely fantastic! The way Blu3s moves looks to natural. Thumbs up
  18. I am writing reviews for both sets, and they are officially used together to build the B-model. So I thought it might be interesting to see what I can build with these limited parts. And for me it's better to start with limited pieces Not sure, I was thinking of a bike, robot or some spacecraft/airplane.
  19. I am thinking of doing a C-model for the 42026 and 42027 combination. Since I'm not much of a MOCer this seems like a nice challenge to see what I can come up with. (obviously I can't enter the competition, but I still think it will be fun)
  20. The idea of using two sets actually comes from the pullback sets
  21. Sweet! Looking forward to it. And I like the fact that you are doing it with smaller sets, instead of maximizing the available parts
  22. Can you post a link and embed an image?
