I love it I especially admire the fact that you sold part of your collection to gather money for this LEGO palace. Dedication! An outdoor LEGO room is actually in the offing for me as well, but that still depends on a lot of factors. Outdoors it won't be nearly as nice as yours though. Good luck with the interior and looking forward to more pictures!

Generic Contest Discussion
Jim replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
A volume limit sounds interesting. Actually a very good idea. A part limit is a bit harder to verify than a dimension limit. That was the reason to skip the part limit. I have been thinking about a weight limit too. Easy to check for both the jury and the contestant. But I reckon not everyone has a small scale to weigh their model. -
Generic Contest Discussion

Okay, no problem I definitely agree!! But for pullback motors I am willing to make an exception NEXT CONTEST CONCEPT?! Okay guys....I've done some thinking on the next contest and we've had some debate about the concept. The concept is almost finished, but we need to make sure it's feasible. So, I'll just throw it out here. Build an official LEGO set, which included an A and B model. There will be a size limit, like 25x19x19 studs in size (foldable parts can stick out, as long as the model can fit in the 25x19x19 box). Size limit (x y z) Moving parts like a crane can be bigger than the size limit, but the models need to be able to fit in the dimensions provided Pneumatics are permitted 3rd party strings, hoses and rubber bands are permitted LEDs are NOT permitted Electronics (PF elements, SBricks and Mindstorms) are NOT permitted The main problem we see is that contestants need to build a model, take it apart for the B-model, etc. What are your thoughts? -
LEGO Technic Bargain Alerts
Jim replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Exactly! This thread needs some guidelines in order to be effective! Indeed country, sales period, type of discount etc -
Hi, Very nice creation! Your image is way too big. Can you reduce the size to max 1024 wide? And please use the regular font in your post. I have corrected the font for you this time Thanks!

LEGO Technic Bargain Alerts
Jim replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, We don't need a pinned topic for bargains. There are a lot of other topics which would take precedence over a bargain topic. But we tend to keep the pinned topics to a minimum, especially with 2 or 3 contest topics being pinned most of the time. I don't mind having a dedicated "LEGO Technic Bargain Alert" topic, which can be included in the Index. (done) -

Lipko didn't say that. He said they are among the cheapest sets, which is true. A pullback contest is definitely on the list, so I recommend everyone to get one or two pullbacks, for future use -
Hi, Your images are way bigger than 1024 pixels. I recommend using a hosting service like BrickSafe or Flickr, where you can upload the original version and link to a smaller version. Thanks

Please stick to Future Castle sets, instead of discussing feminism and gender equality Thanks!

Pneumatics General Discussion
Jim replied to 9v system's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, I think it's very interesting! However, it probably doesn't need a separate topic. I will merge it with the General Discussion topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=111891 -
Sweet!! Nice timing with the game release tomorrow (in NL at least). Can't wait to get the game and I can't wait to see more pictures of your fantastic MOC!

Technic Hall of Fame Discussion

No problem. Sometimes the intonation is "lost in translation" when writing things down instead of speaking. Thanks for your reply Conclusion: we need a auto-add-script for Madoca and Alasdair is doing a great job I have reserved a spot http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91953&st=125#entry2377302 -

LEGO Technic or City
Jim replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Which is called Creator (not completely, I know) I don't see your point. The sets mentioned use quite a few Technic pieces and have (limited) functionality. I think the OP posed a valid question. Exactly. -
Technic Hall of Fame Discussion

This MOC might simply have been overlooked. Adding MOCs to the Hall of Fame is a manual process and Alasdair is doing a great job!! So I'd appreciate you change the tone of your comment, to something constructive -
