  1. Hi, Welcome to EB. Of course you can ask for HELP, but it's not common practice to do this in a topic about the Volvo. This is called off-topic posting, which is frowned upon. Please read the site guidelines before you continue. In the Technic Index you can find a list of topics. One of them in a General Discussion topic. You can ask all sorts of questions there. Have fun!
  2. No non LEGO parts other than the ones mentioned in the rules. You can still build the barge. It doesn't actually need to float. We get the idea. Regarding the fair/unfair discussion. Let's not continue this discussion here. Stick to the contest. We have a generic contest topic for contest discussions.
  3. Isn't it just a single model more in 2H than we had this year?
  4. That's a though one. WIP can mean 10% or 99% finished. Since you haven't presented the actual model, I tend to go with "allowed". But I'd like to hear what others (especially Milan) have to say.
  5. Nope, the 42025 was 1H. Makes perfect sense to me.
  6. There's no percentage limit. Simply follow the stated rules and you'll do fine. The main purpose of the 42009 is hoisting, so it's considered a crane, and would be allowed.
  7. I cannot agree more. The 9396 is one of my favorite sets. I actually own three copies, which says it all. Really looking forward to an addition to the fleet.
  8. Don't know what Milan thinks, but controling the crane via a Smart Phone, using Mindstorms or SBrick, is fine by me. I guess that would indeed be considered fantasy.
  9. Sweet! Craneception And I can't wait to give you some of my 26 points. Make it happen
  10. I would love to see several tower cranes!! Especially interesting to see different builders, solve the same problems. The best will definitely get my vote
  11. Agreed! Before we know it, the crane will just be a part of a six feet walker and people will react "Wow, that's a cool walker", while the emphasis should be on the crane part. @D3K If you still feel like making something different, send us your idea and we (Milan) will judge your idea.
  12. You can make a crane in a cargo terminal. As long as the crane is the star of the show. I have been discussing this with Milan. Allowing al previous LDD created MOCs isn't entirely fair, but we feel a bit sorry for you. On the other hand; you can probably create something similar (without exactly copying) in real bricks.
  13. I'm afraid that's not allowed. It's stated in the General Rules and Regulations.
  14. Please continue and enter the contest. I would love to see a great tower crane.
  15. The recovery truck would not have made it to the contest. The main purpose of a recovery vehicle is to recover vehicles, not to hoist cargo. Each entry has to be crane, and main purpose of the crane/vehicle/MOC should be hoisting/lifting. The entry must be a crane and not contain a crane. Wait...what am I doing?! Milan is the host, so I will shut up now
  16. Wow, seems like a nice contest Good luck hosting it Milan
  17. TECHNIC CRANE CONTEST ENTRY TOPIC CONTEST INFORMATION More information about the contest can be found in the general discussion topic. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? Posts not following the rules will be disqualified so please read them carefully. ENTRY POST The entry post in this topic needs to contain: Entry name Short summary of the functions. One or more images (max 10) Video (mandatory) Link to the discussion topic IMPORTANT This topic should be used for entries only, so commenting is prohibited. Please use the general discussion topic for comments on the entries.
  18. I hope so too. That would be awesome!
  19. Hints? Are you sure you've read the last few posts in this topic?!
  20. Next time think about when to post. You are bumping an old topic, just to mention you are offended. You probably registered for the purpose of making this comment. That's not a great way to introduce yourself to a community. Other than that; welcome to EB! Please read the site guidelines and hopefully you will have some fun too.
  21. Great! Since these images are too big, I recommend trying it right away
