Generic Contest Discussion

One day we will probably do a non-vehicle contest again. That's close to "what TLG hasn't done" (for Technic). -

The video is meant to "prove" the functions are working properly. I don't care about the quality of the video. If it proves the MOC is working, it's fine be me. Of course, better pictures and better video (i.e. better presentation) might give you a slight advantage. But anyone with a modern smartphone can shoot decent pictures and make a decent video. -
Generic Contest Discussion

Sounds like a cool idea. I do have a problem with this setup though. It seems that more and more people are entering a contest with an existing (WIP) MOC. A contest like the one you describe, will open the doors for MOCs which have been in development for several months. Therefor a more limited contest seems to be the better choice. Some other issues: How do we check rigidity? Video is limited in proving it. Designing box art results in an unfair advantage for people with photoshop skills. While I do like the idea, I think it has some flaws. Future contests will be more limited, since "free build" and "big fat" contest generates a lot of debate in the "existing WIP MOC" section. If it's any consolation, the next contest I have in mind will be close to "design an official LEGO set". -
I can't stop looking at animations like these. Very well done!

Technic Crane Contest This topic will be used as a voting topic for the Technic Crane Contest. Voting will be open for at variable period of time. There's no fixed closing date. Closing date will most likely be somewhere between one and two weeks. VOTING RULES AND REGULATIONS Voting scheme uses the old Formula One style point distribution (10, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 POINT) You need to assign 10 points to the 1st place, 6 points to the second and so one. You need to vote for 6 ENTRIES (no more, no less) Clearly mention the ENTRY NUMBER and the NUMBER OF POINTS per entry that you vote on. If you joined Eurobricks after the start of the contest, you can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected) You may NOT vote for your own entry. In the event of a tie for any place the Technic Staff will decide which entry wins. Our decision is final. Questions about voting can be asked in the Technic Crane Contest - Information Topic. For example (entries randomly chosen): --- comments can be placed above the votes 5: 10 (no comments here please) 6: 6 1: 4 9: 3 7: 2 3: 1 Or comments can be placed below the votes ---- NOTES Please use this exact notation NUMBER: VOTES (with a colon). Please don't type #1:10, 1 = 10 or 1) 10 or other notations. Stick to the example format shown above. Please use this thread only for voting. You may explain why you made your choice, but any general discussion should take place in the Information Topic. Comments should be placed ABOVE or BELOW the votes. Please don't comment on the same line as the votes. ENTRIES All entries can be found in the entry thread: Please visit the entry topic to see all entries. 1. Kenworth K100 Crane Truck @ efferman 2. Technic General Discussion

Actually, there will probably be a review online in the near future. Most likely written by another EB member. I will let you know, when I know more. -
O my...., this is something else! The yellow black color scheme works like a charm and you've captured the lines really well. No need to ask for HoF, this will surely be added!

The tutorials should be in the Index, but I must confess that there's not a lot of maintenance on tutorials. We try to limit the number of pinned topics. That's the reason the topics in the index don't get pinned too. I know it would be better to have some topics easily accessible, but the Index is the best we can do. If you get used to using the index, you'll notice that you don't need more pinned topics. -
Thanks for all the entries in the entry topic! I have moved through all entries. Sadly I had to disqualify two of them, but the builders know the reason and agreed to leave the contest. The last two entries (Liebherr LR11000 and Grove Trailer) are missing a video. I will close the entry topic now, so please embed the video somewhere in your discussion topic. And don't hesitate to ask help. I will wait till tomorrow with the voting topic, but no video means no entry. Sorry.
