  1. Actually that would be hilarious. It'd be like on South Park how all of the Canadians look alike, even though one of them is known as Ugly Bob.... Plus, I like the classic smiley. Granted, the numerous facial expressions are great too.
  2. It sounds like something may happen suddenly.. Brilliant MOC. I love the show, although disappointed with the 4th season until the end when it all came together. I've been meaning to make my own Bluth model home and stair car. Yours are brilliant though. Hard to compete with. Keep up the great work!
  3. Isn't the last movie being split? I thought I read that. Probably a good idea for them to cram everything in and make more money whilst doing it...
  4. I am excited to see what we may get. But I will constantly hope for some sort of army builder at a reasonable price. Uruk-Hai army was great, but a tad expensive for an impulse purchase. Now a battle pack of sorts like the SW sets, they'd be sold out all the time. Four figures for 12.99$... Especially if they were elf related. Time will tell...
  5. There are a lot of neat pieces on that website. The texture might not matter as much in the long run as the actual usability. Some of the helmets or swords are cool, but how well they fit into the hands/head will be the best indicator of quality (in my book). I've purchased from other well known 3rd party retailers and their stuff only slightly fit my figures, but all of the helmets kept getting stuck and not fitting properly, so I just threw them away and vowed only to buy official LEGO.
  6. Some of that is YMMV. Around me didn't really see any LOTR discounts, so maybe not everywhere will get LR discounts either. As for spare rangers, I don't know. Use his head for a custom super hero.. For Tonto, if you can find Panaka heads cheap enough, you could build up a decent Comanche army since the torsos will all be similar in real life. Instead, I'm just using the POTC zombie heads since they are the same skin tone.
  7. Very true. I went to the Water Tower Place store in Chicago last month and the brickbuildr website was vastly different than what was available. It was a nice surprise to see what I could get. Many different pieces than I was used to at the Overland Park store.
  8. Sounds awesome. I knew there would be one eventually. I would really hope for dark green, or if the winter village set is Dark green. That would make my day!
  9. I can't wait to pick up one of those sets, if they are included. It would be great to get some new figures instead of rehashes.
  10. This is beautiful. Highly detailed engines. I love the ground work too. Very fitting, although I haven't seen the movie in a while. I couldn't imagine piecing something like this together. But it looks gorgeous. Please, show us more!
  11. This is a great stand alone build. I agree regarding the questionable need for the bridge when there is a cross walk also. I have heard of some cities requiring bridges over most of their roads so it wouldn't impede the vehicles, which would actually be quite nice in some areas. In my city we have a historic downtown district that has a lot of foot traffic since there are a lot of shops/restaurants in a small space. But of course, vehicles drive through there. It can get quite annoying waiting for everyone to cross the road, so this would come in handy in that situation. But otherwise, the need is questionable. However, the build is gorgeous, so don't think of me as being negative. I love how it turned out. The stairs look great. I like the curve you used. The Palace Cinema looks neat on its own, but I don't know why they would have two in such close proximity. I hope their ticket sales go through the roof to justify it. Keep up the great work!
  12. ^ Well put. Definitely turn your brain off and enjoy the entertainment, but not a real thinker of a "good" movie. But I ended up enjoying it. I doubt I will buy it though. Definitely worth a rental. My wife wanted to see it strictly for the wardrobe/costuming, which was great for a period piece.
  13. That is unfortunate that it was delayed so long to not get the set at all. I think the being patient and polite was a good starting approach, but it was all for naught. Next step should be to get angry. My wife can be as sweet as can be at first, but if the goal still doesn't get accomplished, her alter-ego B***h Jena springs out and will get stuff done. She was a corporate secretary for years under the CEO, so she knew how to get stuff done. It helps. Hopefully you can get this all taken care of and get the set at a good price!
  14. I just started playing DC Batman 2 on xbox and it is quite fun. But I'd love to see Acrobat Robin sometime. I don't see why they would make him. I was surprised to see they made the electricity suit Batman for that book.
  15. Lone Ranger - well worth a watch. Very entertaining and surprising. I didn't expect much and was quite pleased coming out.
  16. I'm pretty pumped for this too. I don't know if I will see it in theater, but maybe. I watched the first one on Netflix, then decided to read the books. I ended up reading all three books in less than a week. Very easy reads for sure. I did enjoy all three of them, but they all had a different feel basically based on location. I think the trailer looks way different than what the book was, but I think that is because they don't want to show everything in the trailers (unlike some movies). I'm excited to see how the characters play off of each other and how they present the clock.
  17. I saw it the other night and was also impressed. I knew nothing about it going in other than what the LEGO sets provided. It was neat seeing the characters and scenes. It was very entertaining. Very Pirates-esque with the production team and cast, but I was okay with that since I enjoyed the Pirates movies too. Depp had some nice comic relief in it. And I would agree the train chase was crazy-tastic. As far as the Stage Coach scene, I don't know if there really was a scene involving it, but they probably just wanted to provide another fun set and to throw in a few figures that they couldn't find a place for otherwise. You will see the Stage Coach in the background for a large part of the movie, but not a scene directly linked to the LEGO set. I would also highly recommend it. I didn't even know it came out, otherwise I may have seen it sooner.
  18. Nice to see a fellow Hoosier here. I'm actually from Nebraska, but I went to school in Bloomington and met my wife and had our daughter in Indiana, so I like to claim part of it. Those customs are awesome. I wonder if LEGO will make them and how they will turn out compared to yours. Have fun on the site. There are a lot of great builders and tips out there.
  19. I think it does make sense to assume AFOLs may be better at spatial recognition and creativity, but then again, not every AFOL likes MOCing or can stray from the instructions. Does that make them any less intelligent? No, but there will always be variances in the different levels of intelligence. You may be more intelligent (read: knowledgeable) about LEGO and LEGO related products/projects, but that doesn't mean you are directly intelligent about everything. Just like someone being a specialist in their given field will know that particular field better than others that aren't in it, but it doesn't make them any more or less intelligent. But on the whole, I would say, of course we are more educated!
  20. It depends on what color you are looking for. I found lime green, light trans blue, dark trans blue and trans clear at the Chicago-Water Tower Place store about a month ago. Since I flew there, I only grabbed a few cups, but I knew I should have filled more cups of them. Edit: Sorry, I misread. You said TILES, I read it as plates. Haha, then, on that note, no I haven't seen 1x1 round TILES anywhere yet.
  21. I don't see how the CMF bluecoats are any more expensive than the Lone Ranger cavalry soldiers. You can get the CMF for $3 each, but if you factor out the Lone Ranger himself from that battle pack, you are left with 3 figures in a $13 set..Even if you include him in the total figure/price ratio, you are still left with about $3.25 each, so more expensive than the CMF bluecoats. Just to fyi Are you going for a whimsical name like a lot of other ships?
  22. I'm not much of a car builder, so these are extra impressive to me. I love that pink cadillac the most. What torso is being used for Elvis?
  23. Brilliant designs. Very shapely and iconic. I love the Beetle and the T1 the most. I know very little about VW, but these look great. I may have to "borrow" the ideas for my own versions. Thanks for sharing!
  24. Very clever. I've seen NES MOCs before, but this is brilliant. I love the fact it actually "works." Keep up the great work!
  25. Great job indeed! Very fitting. I love the classic Batman. I wish I had that old Robin to go with it. I may have to try my hand at this sometime. You've nailed it!
