  1. Please find below an Adventurer-ized version of set 40530 "Tribute to Jane Goodall" showing Gail Storm as wildlife photographer. Set 40530 is just awesome! I used a 8x16 brick and building techniques from the Adventurers' Dino Island-subtheme to build the trees and the river and to create a small 8x22-vignette for the Adventurers' jungle subtheme. This vignette has the same size as set 40530 without the black frame. I hope you like it. Critics and comments are very welcome.
  2. While Mike is watching out for dinos and other big animals Doc Lightning is taking a nap. This is the jungle observation post, an Adventurer-ized version of set 6563 "Gator Landing". This time I have used a 8x16 and a 8x8 brick to create a MOC for the Adventurers' jungle subtheme. I hope you like it. Critics and comments are very welcome.
  3. Deep in the jungle Johnny and the gang have found an ancient idol. Will they discover its secret? Again a small 10x20-vignette for the Adventurers' jungle subtheme. I try to keep the original Adventurers' style and vibe to create MOC's which could have been real LEGO sets. I hope you like it. Critics and comments are very welcome.
  4. Yes, good idea! Do you want to create one?
  5. @LetsBrickCool topic and great question! I go for vintage as I love this classic studded and brick built style.
  6. I like it! I haven't seen that technique of putting a fence under an arch yet. It looks good and I will try it myself.
  7. I like the idea of painting the stolen horses - that's funny!
  8. Thank you very much! Very appreciated! Thank you very much! I wanted to use that "safe" as a safe and stable cargo box for that golden goblet.
  9. Another one of my favourite Adventurers' sets from the 1999 jungle subtheme: set 5925 - Pontoon Plane. As I thought the hull of the plane in its original configuration looked somewhat weird, I did two modifications: First I lenghtened the hull by four studs so the plane can fit now two minifigs (or one minifig and some cargo) instead of only one minifig. Second I lowered the seat of the pilot by two plates so that Harry Cane's head doesn't look out above the upper wings. What do you think? Critics and comments are as always very welcome.
  10. I totally agree with you. That's exactly the point. Well said. Thanks! Classic Lego sets are "clean" (even though they have a lot of studs), while modern ones almost try to be modell building. P.S.: This is my 500th post.
  11. More info over in the City 2024-thread in the Town-forum:
  12. There are five Jungle sets announced, correct? 30665 Meet the baby gorilla / polybag / 34 parts 60424 Jungle Quadbike and Red Panda / $9.99 / 92 parts 60435 Jungle Explorer Plane / $19.99 /177 parts 60426 Jungle Explorer Off-Road Vehicle / $29.99 / 314 parts 60437 Jungle Helicopter & Explorer Base / $99.99 / 881 parts
  13. I'll keep my expectation low. But fun fact: When I first heard about set 60435 Jungle Explorer Planeο»Ώ / $19.99 / 177 parts I immediately thought that this might be some kind of Adventurers' stuff (like set 5925). But we will see how it turns out. As comparison: Set 60217 (big fire plane) has 347 parts; I guess that the plane without the car and the sidebuilds might have around 180 - 200 parts. Set 60250 (small mail plane) has 70 parts. I hope it's not Larry Jones ...
  14. That building is great. I like how you adopted it and turned it into a modular building while keeping its demodularized feature. And that Tin Lizzy is just awesome. I'll try to build it, too.
  15. It was on IG today - apparently Johnny Thunder will reappear. Yay! I'm so excited!
  16. No, the classic cute and sweet smile.
  17. Thank you! Lucky you! Thanks. I did choose the smiley one for better comparison. And I think the torso is still plain enough to fit with the smiley. πŸ˜€
  18. I had set 6055 "Prisoner Convoy" as a kid and still have it today. One of my all time favourite minifgs is the "prisoner" aka the peasant. His torso is a classic beauty. In set 10305 "Lion Knights' Castle" a modern version of this torso was introduced. Its sand green colour is a perfect update of the classic light gray. I took this modern torso and made a modern version of the peasant of set 6055. I think it turned out great. What do you think?
  19. I like this very much. Cool concept! πŸ‘
  20. Thank you very much for the chemical explanation. πŸ‘ And - I like your style! πŸ˜ƒ
