  1. Thank you! Lucky you! Thanks. I did choose the smiley one for better comparison. And I think the torso is still plain enough to fit with the smiley. 😀
  2. I had set 6055 "Prisoner Convoy" as a kid and still have it today. One of my all time favourite minifgs is the "prisoner" aka the peasant. His torso is a classic beauty. In set 10305 "Lion Knights' Castle" a modern version of this torso was introduced. Its sand green colour is a perfect update of the classic light gray. I took this modern torso and made a modern version of the peasant of set 6055. I think it turned out great. What do you think?
  3. I like this very much. Cool concept! 👍
  4. Thank you very much for the chemical explanation. 👍 And - I like your style! 😃
  5. Seconded. I prefer yellow ones who still have the reminiscence to the classic smiley.
  6. Well, on my side, it's of course nostalgia. I was born in the early 70s, so my Lego sets ranged from mid 70s to mid 80s. I had old Legoland sets with the old minifigs (i.e. set 368) and then classic town, classic space and classic castle (i.e. set 375), but no pirates. So these are pure childhood memories. But on the other hand und furthermost it's playabilitiy: Creativity: I had some (a lot of ?) sets, mainly the small ones, not the big ones. But these sets contained bricks, plates, some tiles, slopes, doors, windows and doors and only very few special parts. I was able to build so many other houses, cars, planes and space ships ("MOCs" in modern terms) with these basic parts. I had Idea Book 6000 and could built many of its building suggestions. Old Lego sets were meant to be taken apart to construct something new. I believe this creativity had gone lost in modern Lego sets. There are so many special parts that you can't reuse in MOCs. So in modern sets there are just not enough basic parts to build other stuff. Modern Lego makes the impression of modell building with bricks. Once you've built it, you never take it apart. Landscape: I had many street plates, classic space crater plates and green base plates. So I was able to built a scenery (town, space, castle or all together) of at least 4x4 baseplates (32x32 studs). This was huge for a kid (even with small sets) and gave space for so much phantasy. (It was almost like the landscape of modell railroads.)
  7. An awesome set. I like it. Great minifig collection with six new torsos.
  8. Deep in the jungle there is a sacred spring where Achu prays to the gods. Again a small 10x20-vignette for the Adventurers' jungle subtheme. I try to keep the original Adventurers' style and vibe to create MOC's which could have been real LEGO sets. Credits go to @Oky and his MOC for the idea of the burried 2x2-box. I hope you like it. Critics and comments are very welcome.
  9. Sounds as if you are on a good way!
  10. @Feuer ZugThanks a lot, much appreciated!
  11. Nice MOC. I like the classic vibes it has. And the idea to create a showcase for little sets is just great!
  12. @LexaThat's great! Nice use of these 1x2-tiles with "zebra pattern". If I see correctly, you used both "zebra pattern"- tiles (1x2 and 2x2) from set 70906: I used the 2x2 "zebra"-tile from set 6672:
  13. @Feuer ZugThank you very much!
  14. @icmThank you very much! Yes, we definitely need this cockpit piece in other colours. White or green would be a very good start. In the past few years it was produced in lime and dark azure. So the mould still exists. Lego, come on! Well, I haven't thought about the plane yet. But perhaps I will give it a try.
  15. Set 77012 (Indiana Jones - Fighter Plane Chase) contains an 8wide model of the white Citroën 11 légère cabriolet which the Joneses "borrowed" to escape from the attack of the German fighter plane (in "The last crusade"). I built my own version of this car using the classic Adventurers' cockpit piece in light gray. What do you think? Comments and critics are very welcome.
  16. The statue from set 70420:
  17. Yellow ones are the one and only ones. And classic smiley ones. Just because I am used to them as I grew up playing with them.
  18. Thank you for your thoughts! I totally agree with you. You can buy additional "smileys" on Bricklink.
  19. @icmThank you very much! Yes, doors are a must. And these 2017 doors in "bright light orange" are just perfect. I'm a big fan of the 2017 jungle theme and have almost all sets.
  20. @icm Thank you very much! In fact that wasn't so expensive: I got set 60267 with discount (30% ?) and one seller on BL had so many parts in stock that I had to pay shipping costs only once. If I remember correctly the price per tile was less than 0,50€, perhaps around 0,30€.
  21. The play-size LEGO-City-style Land Rover Classic Defender (set 40650) is an awesome set and its colour "bright light orange" fits perfectly to the 2017 City jungle subtheme. So I did some modifications: new mudguards and tires, new hood, doors, windows in trans-light-blue and some equipment on the roof. Its appearance is now almost identical to the trucks from sets 60160 or 60161. What do you think? Critics and comments are very welcome.
  22. The Jeep from set 60267 is a great car but I didn't like the stickers. That's why I looked for an other way to get the iconic zebra pattern on that vehicle. The solution was the 2x2 printed tile from set 6672, the "ancestor" of set 60267. So I bought 13 (!) of this tile from bricklink and that's the result I'm pretty happy with:
  23. HMS Lydia and Horatio Hornblower came immediately to my mind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Happy_Return Great ship!
  24. Very reasonable! I love that strategy. 😎
