  1. Love the style! Maybe even a bit too 'closed' for the era of those wheels haha. But a great compromise toward the current fashion. I don't know much about the rarity of blue parts, but OH MY seeing 4 trans-clear #3 connectors used for the headlights nearly gave me a heart attack!
  2. Coming back in white after 15 years. In set 75301
  3. I bought it as a teen when it came out and found all the pieces in my parent's attic 2 years ago. I rebuilt it and have it proudly on display! I'm interested to see how this'll turn out! :)
  4. It worked in my case. Here I wrote what I did: That sounds unreasonably harsh! I had the opposite experience (see above), they sent me a full new batch after only expressing my "disappointment".
  5. The only way they could solve their color inconsistency problem Yeah and here I saw a LOT of too, which has only been available in one set in 2001...
  6. Darn you TLG! Teasing us with 9L beams in Lime... As well as H-beams in Black... Source
  7. But the Rebrickable name is literally "Technic Axle Pin 3L with No Friction Ridges and 2L Axle" (emphasis added).
  8. I just realized this is actually a NEW part: it has NO friction ridges!
  9. This was posted speculatively earlier on this page, but seems to be confirmed now: https://rebrickable.com/parts/65249/technic-axle-pin-3l-with-no-friction-ridges-and-2l-axle/15/
  10. Maybe not in copious amounts, but they do pop up all the time! They appeared in Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Bucket Wheel Excavator, Lamborghini Sian, 6x6 Volvo Articulated Hauler, Dom's Dodge Charger, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1... to name just a few notable, recent sets.
  11. You can get them at "half price" from B&P. Order half of the number you need, then send a photo to customer service showing how misaligned the axle holes are, and they'll send you another batch.
  12. Here is an (over-engineered?) strengthening of the above. Connecting multiple circles is just a matter of inserting 5x7 frames I think.
  13. Have you considered parts in the categories "Technic Special" or "Constraction"? There's some funky stuff, for example:
  14. One can hope... But these gears have been appearing in small System sets before, for example:
  15. I was just looking up photos of the real car and the resemblance is mind-blowing! I agree with @langko that it would be good if the black part of the A-pillars could be moved closer to the lime part. And have you tried replicating the white line on the inside of the headlights? Maybe with a slightly bent rigid hose... But it's always difficult to mount those without adding ugly clips, so I can understand it may not be worth it.
  16. OP sometimes mentions the word "classic" but I can't find any rule defining what sets count as classic. How much do we need to read into the usage of this word?
  17. Hmmm so while I'm speeding with my RC vehicle I can just shift to reverse gear? Looking forward to trying that! [just poking fun]
  18. Bump! With the new Lime parts, I just had to build it... Here and there I've modded the bodywork as I saw fit -- to accommodate the color swap as well as improving the usage of system pieces. And of course some black tape to create the famous panda eyes. I've modded the chassis quite a bit too, to accommodate a 2nd PF L motor as well as gearing them up 1:3. See below how fast it is with a BuWizz 2.0! As usual I first built a virtual model, which can be found here: https://bricksafe.com/pages/astyanax/miura. (Be warned that the internal part usage is a bit idiosyncratic, reflecting the parts I had available for building at the moment.)
  19. The intended effect is that the collision with the 3x13 curved panel causes the subconstruction to get slanted forward a bit, as it's an extension of the bonnet. Cheers!
  20. Indeed in the virtual model there's a collision. But in reality it works out, thanks to usage of part 45590, which is rubber and bendy. This part is very useful for resolving minor collisions!
  21. Well, the pushing the stud of into a pin hole should hold well, but it could be even more rugged if there were room on the other side of the half-beam to insert -- for example -- a pneumatic T-piece into the open stud to hold the light from the other side as well...
  22. Is retaining "hammerhead" an objective? Because the curved panels at the front seem to destroy the hammerhead look. Not saying that's bad, just asking what's your stance.
  23. @brunojj1 Regarding the 2-speed gearbox, were you thinking of selecting among the 2 outputs, like below? (This is an idea I picked up from Sariel's book.) If so, then be warned of this issue: the driving ring will be pushed out of either red or blue gear, due to the force and speed of the RC motors. The wave selector won't help. What does work is holding the driving ring in place with a changeover catch and a worm gear.
