  1. @amorti jaja just let me enjoy this moment a bit, where I have the fastest Pista...... Haha just making fun here... and no need to pitch the dark side to me, you know I have nothing against it; it's just that.... I already have soooo many Lego motors, any more and the missus will start asking difficult questions!
  2. Thanks for taking the question @amorti -- I don't have any non-Lego motors to make any comparison. I found a video of yours on page 12, stating it's with 4 motors, but it looks significantly slower than my video above. To be fair, I was running at 11.2V. Plus, I implemented the gearing up as suggested by @brunojj1 on page 11.
  3. Fortunately I've never seen the CaDA manual, haha! But now that I know I'm not allowed to, I'm going to enjoy it even more! Seriously though, I've experienced zero issues changing gear while going full throttle in Ludicrous mode. Maybe when I finally disassemble it I'll find some ground-down gears, but who cares, they're expendable....
  4. Fiiiiinally got around to shooting & uploading a little racing vid. So this is in highest gear, with 4x PF L motors (genuine Lego) and 2x BuWizz 2.0 in Ludicrous mode. Pretty good speed I think, considering it's a 3kg model! Going full throttle from standstill in highest gear and ludicrous mode is prone to trigger the overload protection. In the first few seconds of the video I'm shifting up sequentially from lowest to highest gear (you can faintly hear the clicks ... above the screaming motors haha!). Anyway, shifting while driving is soooo much fun anyway... and so smooth!
  5. Well, for starters, the Batwing doesn't come with any wheels, so obviously it can't be turned into a car...... You said it. Moreover I'll boldly claim my B model is a more interesting build experience than Batwing set 76161. Because there's a lot of sideways and upside-down building going on. This was necessary because the curved parts in the Batmobile were exactly the inverse of those used in the Batwing. ( vs etc.) So a lot of SNOT techniques were required to invert those parts.
  6. So the large Batwing (set 76161) can be built entirely from the large Batmobile (set 76139). Of course there are differences, but surprisingly few compromises were needed. Obviously the Batmobile does not offer a bubble canopy to put on the Batwing. But many reviewers of the Batwing complained about Lego's canopy solution as well. So I'd say, two wrongs makes a right! In fact I'm quite pleased with how the canopy shape turned out, given the part constraints. Below is an animation comparing this MOC (on the left) with the Batwing of set 76161 (on the right). Most notable differences are the canopy and the dark gray bottom (there just weren't enough large black plates in the Batmobile!). Other than that, I think all shaping and dimensions are in near-perfect agreement. 7. You might be missing a red 16t gear.... My condolences...
  8. I love building another 1:8 supercar as much as the next guy, but what I love even more is tinkering with small, silly contraptions. My favorite video from @Sariel is not any of his impressive scale models, but the monowheel haha!
  9. All excellent models! To me though, the quad really stands out, with its V-engine.
  10. Today, for the first time, I saw a real Ferrari 488 Pista, just parking in front of a bank (yup, this is in Switzerland). As I was walking past the red & striped beast, what struck me most is that it's indeed a pretty small car actually... Oh well, I guess that keeps the weight down and performance up.
  11. If CaDA becomes more successful, I guess they'll also have to progressively simplify the building instructions. And introduce more colors into the model, especially internally. With growing costumer base comes a growing amount of complaints about building errors (whether self-inflicted or not). I'm not sure if CaDA's next model of this size and complexity would again be as black-on-black as this one. As a reminder where LEGO Technic started, here's a photo from the 8865 review thread: Although the inhabitants of this forum would be happy with such instructions, I'm sure the Service Center won't...
  12. Me too. Somehow I was expecting to see the flip flop beams in even lengths only. To have some more differentiation, and to have the same number of holes on each side. I dunno, maybe not that important.
  13. Still longer than other cars at the same scale...
  14. I dunno, perhaps you should use some scaling tool to verify these issues are real?
  15. LDCad for making the model, LPub3D for making the instructions.
  16. I've added PDF building instructions for those alternative fins to the MOC page for my cosmetic changes: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-62340 I mean for this mod:
  17. Indeed. And in my defense: I never asked for replacement parts. I wrote to Lego that I was "disappointed" about the quality and included (a link to) my photo. That's it. They sent me replacements immediately, without further contest. So apparently they do see the misalignment as a valid issue.
  18. Such a thing is definitely happening. Here's an insightful interview on the topic: https://www.newelementary.com/2020/09/missing-faulty-lego-consumer-perceived-quality.html
  19. Actually the fin is stable even without being attached to the car. The (black) 5L axle runs vertically from the "o+" liftarm up to the new panel fairing, keeping it steady.
  20. Regarding the fin mod, do you mean this? NB: the pin hole of takes the 8L axle with stop which holds the rear wheel arch. Also you'll have to turn around the conflicting , you'll see which one I mean.
  21. Received my replacements. Below a comparison: 1st batch on the left, replacements on the right. Bottom line: always make sure to connect these parts at at least 2 points! I'm not gonna complain again, I really have more than enough of these parts now!
  22. Also there's Rebrickable.... https://rebrickable.com/parts/3068b/tile-2-x-2-with-groove/323/
  23. Heh, seems like I'll have to do exactly that. Bought it second-hand 2 years ago, which excited a friend of mine so much I let him build it for me. But never built it myself. Seems like I'm missing out. Except for the half-pin, that one is blue but no friction... I never understood WHY.
