  1. I think it's more of a fascination with pirates in snowy regions, it shows something different, something less exotic. Nothern regions with snow have always been to me as a treat, whenever included in a movie or game or a MOC. I really like MOCs with snow, like some of those castles ones with a castle on a snowy mountain or those wild west MOCs with cowboys surviving in snowy forests. The half frozen river between snowy slopes is what I could imagine a pirate ship calmly sailing through. Closest thing we've had for it was in At World's End, where the crew went all the way north to get to the world's end.
  2. Truly interesting, but like it says there - it's not Caribbean, but it feels like it. Water that's on the coasts of Miami is Caribbean water.
  3. I believe it was 2017 or 18' when there was snow in Miami, technically it's Caribbean.
  4. Yes, this is more like what I meant, that wouldn't be the first time we've seen snow in Caribbean...
  5. Haha , that's a worthy addition nonetheless.
  6. Beautiful MOC, I noticed your work has some winter scenes, but like you said, it's imperials, still it's good.
  7. Hello there boys and girls or whatever, Pirates are known for plundering around West Indies and other places alike, however there were also pirates in areas that have snow. It's actually quite a lot like cowboys - mainly they operate in warm areas, but there are some that operate more north, except the only difference is, that there are MOCs of cowboys in winter and yet none (that I could find) featuring pirates in winter. This surely isn't the most popular topic from pirates to talk about, but I believe it deserves some attention too. Perhaps any of you know some good pirate winter MOCs? Jack Sassy
  8. You do have fair points there, but I guess it's more that Lego don't want to make nazis and soviets anymore, seeing as they cancelled that Technic set just because it's a military vehicle. Personally, I do hope they'll make sets like they did back in the day, Indiana Jones is one of my favourite themes of all time and seeing new sets would be a treat.
  9. Hopefully Lego will take hints from the fact that there were two imperial fort submissions and will make some, while I would prefer recoats and bluecoats, 18th century spanish officers would be a nice addition in their yellow coats
  10. Man, I love these yellow trees quite a lot, for some reason they look more real to me than green ones. Good job on the MOC!
  11. Hello, Has anyone got a picture file of the original 1996 western bacground? If so, could you provide me with one? Jack Sassy
  12. Voted pirates and added in description that they could add some imperials too, although I doubt they will. On the side note, I was really hoping for Adventurers to make it at the top 4, oh well
  13. I was thinking of it as a display piece, but couldn't decide whether to make Johnny Thunder era or Ancient Egypt era, I guess you do have solid points on that one. Thanks! When idea first popped in my mind, I was thinking of making it all out of just casual bricks in tan to make it look weathered, but really liked the idea with doing something different from general pyramid MOCs and use smoother pieces. So I guess you're right about the color variations depending on the state of the pyramid. Thank you!
  14. Hello everyone! I wasn't sure in which forum to post this so in the end decide to post it here, Anyway, I've been thinking of making a pyramid on a 32x32 tan baseplate, however, this is where my problem emerges: I can't decide which color to pick, both of them are same size - 30x30. I guess white one could be more historically accurate, due to the fact that some pyramids were in white color and yet I can't decide which color I like better. What do y'all think about it? Which color do you prefer? I'd surely like to hear other people's thoughts about this. Jack Sassy
  15. Once again you treat us with a nice tutorial, Captain. While I'm sure many members here know these techniques, I am happy to see step-by-step tutorials of them, mostly because I'm more used to a classic Lego building style - using a lot of big pieces. Thank you!
  16. Problem is, that Indy fights against nazis and soviets and Lego can't pull that nowadays, so I'm guessing they might do just one set with ending location in movie or just make a brickhead and call it a day
  17. I meself prefer late 1600s - late 1700s, although 1500s looks very classic and good too. The 1800s is okay, it's just that to me its modernism loses the beauty 1700s uniforms had.
  18. Quite a vessel for such captain, I'm sure he's pleased that she's seaworthy. They'll be looking for a dock to stop by, without doubt.
  19. I like this, it's starting to remind me of those classic pirate stop-motions from back in the day. Good job!
  20. Thank you for providing these interesting techniques. This gives me couple ideas for a watchtower I've been thinking of building recently.
  21. Pretty neat vignette.
  22. I'd really like to see this evolving, for sure. Also, nice work on the ship!
  23. This is most likely the best version I've seen of the Dutchman. Astonishing work!
