  1. A great take on this well known vessel! Good use of space below decks. Not every model requires a full set of cannons, I too have found this option as helpful when needing to fill out more detail with different rooms. The transition from broadsides to the galleries and to the stern skull is smooth and quite dynamic. Good job on this original design!
  2. Indeed, these parts seem worthy to experiment with. That aspect can be extended to other details on the Flying Dutchman. The amount of detail this project affords and also demands is incredible!
  3. Good progress on her! The rack looks lovely, somehow I had never though fo such a simple solution. Recently I have been experimenting with multiple designs. One part I have found to be more accurate is the new wand piece released two years ago: However currently it be available in just two colours - reddish brown and medium nougat one pictured above. Would ye ever attemp another design for the belaying pin rack, one that has them going accurately through the rack?
  4. Aye, but the fact that we are finally getting boater hats is astounding! I have been waiting for these a long time.
  5. Good to see the mechanism up and running! It may not be completely accurate and the motor might be hotter than a sugarcane boiler but ye have accomplished an impressive feature most would not even bother with. I think it works good as it is, as the feature is not what defines the model itself, rather a lovely addition to showcase.
  6. It has been some time since I last checked yer MOC progress and it seems very much impressive! The facade brick imitation detail is certainly something to admire. And lovely to see ye moving on to Hogsmeade. Good work!
  7. Aye, those rail plates seem like a common solution indeed! Good work on her so far!
  8. Perhaps ye may wish to consider taking some notes from option 2, in terms of maximising captain's quarters, as the room itself is a highlight in the whole vessel. However, it would be lovely to keep some idea of the original bulkhead. I do wonder, are ye going to cover the gaps in the deck that appear from hull offsets? If so, what method would ye use that'd interfere as little as possible with the tiles?
  9. Good work on her! The stern is certainly beautiful and I like the solution for the figurehead. Good job!
  10. It seems ye have the POTC film set version at the moment. Seeing both at the same time, the new one certainly seems more dynamic in the respective aspects, that and the colours at the stern stabd out more. Good work so far!
  11. Aye, could be. But I imagine that children might have such perception due to consumption of Disney media. It be strange that there has not been a remake of, say, Sphinx Secret Surprise. Such a model would look wonderful.
  12. It would seem LEGO has settled for safe profit in recent years. The Adults Welcome line has completely changed every direction they ever took, as it allows for single big models from a classic theme (speaking of which, we are yet to see an Adventurers icons set ). This is complete speculation, but I have noticed it being in line with major fusion of distinctive objects/themes into one big ball. Could be that this is just the change of times which demands something more like Marvel with its single combined universe, rather than individual themes which might seem... scattered.
  13. Impressive mechanisms, I be eager to see how they will work in the end! The flickering lights are a lovely touch too. I take it the old version is still intact, yes?
  14. That cannon mechanism seems quite complex, I love it! She is taking a lovely shape. As always, yer detailing is impressive! I must admire those stairs, such a simple solution and yet it never crossed me mind, it is beautiful. I must ask, will ye include some form of Liar's dice as well?
  15. Ye may wish to look at this topic, I find it to be very helpful:
  16. @SpacePolice89, thank ye for informing us! The day has finally arrived, long have I waited for an opportunity to create an account.
  17. Perhaps the colour could win ye over, if ye mixed it with something a tad darker... As ye well know, some details must be sacrificed for the sake of the scale. So I see, I still find this part hard to work around with. One of these days ye must tell me about more uses for this part in vessel building. This design is impressive, though most likely not for me, I wish to keep visibility through the window. So I imagine ye will make a double window - another one on the exterior. Thank ye! Impressive display of progress! I admire just how fast ye are building this fine beauty.
  18. If ordered by separate parts, Bootstrap Bill is also quite affordable, though, in yer case, that is not important. The design on the left hand side seems a lot more accurate. Did ye experiment with small flame pieces instead of vines for some ports? That is impressive! How did ye achieve connection for those tiles as lattices? I meself am looking for a new lattice window solution. Overall, good progress! Out of curiosity, in terms of bricks, how tall is the vessel's head?
  19. Glad to hear ye are creating a new version. I was not around for the old version but she certainly was a beauty! I imagine that for the triple cannon mechanism ye could take advantage of the area underneath the forecastle. Is the main colour going to be dark tan for this vessel?
  20. Aye, of course. I forgot about this issue as it is nothing major. Yer work here is much appreciated.
  21. A beautiful rendition! The reflective surface of those fluted bricks creates an interesting pattern for the wings. The colours go together so well, I especially appreciate the subtle accents of yellow. Good job!
  22. An impressive display! I do like that the record was pressed on the Epic label, it always looks lovely.
  23. Indeed, this presentation could benefit from better pictures, but yer MOCs are still impressive! Good of you to take notes from the masters, both vessels are grand, from the rigging to the cabin connections. Good job!
  24. This is impressive! Could be used for a Baroque composer.
  25. Is the deceased pirate captain's torso there too? That seems useful, though not for me, as the closest LEGO store might just be in Poland.
