Ah, I missed it the first time. We seem to have a fine galleon on our hands, though the hull seems a tad static. -
[OFFICIAL] LEGO Ideas® 21363 The Goonies - Released Nov 4
Jack Sassy replied to Dreamweb's topic in LEGO Pirates
As someone who has never seen The Goonies I cannot fully appreciate this set, only the Pirates aspect. With a few alterations this would look good as a shipwreck on rocks. Seems that at least two torsos serve a good potential for new characters. I wonder what the other side of the build looks like, what little we can see from the actual hull of the ship is good, but it would be a real treat to have an entire facade on the other side. -
Thank you! I have not been acquainted with him just yet.

@Jim, hope that yer holiday is going well! I seem to have a slight issue with me account. About a day after posting anything, the said post disappears from my activity page. At the moment, it is stuck at September 4th, while I did post yesterday and before that too. It be a curious issue, though not a big one. I would appreciate a fix or some idea as to why does this happen. All the best, Jack Sassy

This seems like a lovely idea. The modules have been constructed with great attention to detail and background illusion. Wish LEGO would make this. Good job and good luck with the submission!

Have LEGO sets always been an expensive toy?
Jack Sassy replied to Slegengr's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I must echo all of ye. When I was a child, the biggest set my parents could afford (and that itself was rarely) was the one that cost 20 euros or so (at the time, lats). Other toys have always been cheaper, but the plastic quality differs from toy to toy. LEGO has had a consistent quality (in my country ) and variety which most of the toys lacked. It certainly has become much more expensive in the past years, but most importantly - the smaller sets are disappearing. -

[MOC] Black Pearl (Version 4 of the Elephant Knight)
Jack Sassy replied to Elephant Knight's topic in Pirate MOCs
Aye, this seems as the finest version yet! Others looked a lot more like Spanish galleons while this one is a lot more true to the original design. Have ye considered a mixture of dark brown and brown? -
[MOC] Black Pearl (Version 4 of the Elephant Knight)
Jack Sassy replied to Elephant Knight's topic in Pirate MOCs
A splendid build! It would seem we be on some Black Pearl MOC marathon before the official set. I understand the frustrating notion of showcasing a MOC when an official set is on the horizon. Perhaps memory not be serving me correctly, but I be not familiar with yer other versions of this vessel. I do like the angles on her! Ye have used a great solution for the captain's cabin tilted windows and the patches of dark brown is certainly a good way to add additional details. Be the deck a mix of reddish brown and dark brown? Good job! -
Do ye mean the coin piece seen in Barbossa's hand?

[MOC] Rock Raiders; Mobile HQ
Jack Sassy replied to LegoMathijs's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
A great return to form! I love the blend of old and new both in terms of colours and techniques. Good job! -
Once again, these are some beautiful builds. I was not aware of the Polish situation in the late 18th century. Interesting topic.

This be a good callback to the traditions of the old. The blend of these two sets is a great idea with an impressive execution. It be a surprise that I have not seen something like this before. Good job!

[OFFICIAL] LEGO Icons 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship
Jack Sassy replied to CloneCommando99's topic in LEGO Pirates
It seems like the leaker has the set at their disposal, only refused to take more than three pictures and decided to spread them throughout three days. If it truly be set to release in September, we should be receiving a reveal soon. Unless it will be cancelled same as the Temple of Doom. -
She seems to be wonderfully made! I like the removable decks and interior details. Good job!

An impressive shot! At first I would not have thought that this be a square build. Quite a dynamic composition. Well done!
-
Aye, indeed. It leaves an opportunity for some tests in the future. Ye both have done an astounding job!
-
An impressive result ye both have achieved over a weekend! I be not familiar with the source material, but she looks as beautiful as can be. I particularly appreciate the shaping of the stern, not to mention the addition of those gold sculptures. The use of dark grey is ingenius in this case, it looks beautiful! Would ye ever consider adding interior detail if, say, there were removable sections of the broadsides or the captain's cabin? I do agree it be pointless to add interior detail to a vessel with full rigging, but if the access points were to avoid collision with the rigging itself...? This be a question I have been wondering about meself, perhaps ye can provide a logical solution. Either way, good job to ye both!

[WIP][MOC] Ongoing project HMS Victory in minifig scale

Clearly much faster than I do. Good work! -

Quite a steadfast progress (or is the time rushing too fast? )! Be I correct in assuming that we are looking at the bow? -
An impressive sculpture! A lot of skill has been put into this work of art. I appreciate the use tiles and slopes for detailing. Creating a realistic sculpture of a person in LEGO is certainly quite a challenge, especially because these are bricks, not clay, bronze or marble. Ye have managed to achieve realism very well. An astounding job!

A great idea! 8 studs would seem too much for the road baseplates, while 7 studs seem like just the right size. Quite often buses are wider than cars. This would make much more sense for the buses in LEGO sets. These models remind me of the newest additions in my city which are far more narrow than the old ones. Good job!
