  1. I was dissatisfied with the roof in the initial version I posted up here, so now I've made some adjustments to its pitch and coloring! Also added some more ornamental elements to the dark brown wood in the roof. Original post is updated with new images, and old images are included in a spoiler
  2. @Spud The Viking check out the album covers next to the tricorne fig
  3. Nice quarry! I like the lance/droid-arm rock shoot a lot - great idea. The SNOT pallet works really well too. Quite a rascally band of enterprising quarrymen. Those sheep get into everything, don't they? Are there Duplos under the hill? Are you imagining they then transport the rock by horsedrawn cart? Sounds like a heavy load!
  4. Really love the treehouse design and rope making scene!
  5. Thanks! Thanks! Yes, the floor was a highlight, but was very plate-intensive. I really like the smaller textural details plate SNOT allows Thanks! Thanks! Per your original note, I plan on tweaking the dark brown roof areas to add some ornamentation. I need to look through my bins to see what other dark brown elements I have (or complementary colors) Thanks! I think I am going to make 3 or 4 adjustments to the build and then license that updated version. Think this fits the bill for Medium Artisan? Should have the updated version reposted up this week. Thanks for your feedback! I also think the roof needs some help - I made this entire build in 6 hours from 8:30p - 2:30a. When I was "finished" at 2:30a I posted it right up, though I should have sat on it for another day to review. Building normal-sized walls with plates took longer than I originally anticipated I am going to make some adjustments and then repost!
  6. A Terraversan peace agreement had been reached with Oleon, and a large portion of the Corlander expeditionary forces stationed in Westface were beginning to withdraw to points across the Brick Seas. Colonel Allcock had decided to stay in Westface with the remaining soldiers for the time being to assist L'Olius in establishing the new Commonwealth, and to justify the free trade agreement Corrington enjoyed with the new state. Before the commanders of the departing forces set sail, Allcock invited them to the inn where he kept rooms to share in a celebratory toast and meat pies. In attendance were Colonel Allcock, Major Brickford, Lord Spud, Don Isaac Montoya, Captain Brickleton, Captain Cooke, and Captain Redding. Colonel Allcock led a toast: "To the new Commonwealth of Terraversa! To the Queen! To Corrington!" OOC: Wanted to try a build with dark brown accents - hadn't tried that before Licensed as a large artisan in Westface Old Roof Version:
  7. Agreed looking forward to seeing it!
  8. Impressive collection @PxChris! All my sets have long been parted out into pieces - fun to see them together again!
  9. Thanks for updating it, @Ayrlego! Interesting read
  10. Looking good @Jack Sassy! The tan heads, etc really cement it as PoTC Have you considered joining Brethren of the Brick Seas? Builds like this would fit in just fine there
  11. I'll add to my earlier post to say the decorated fences work really well here to add some ornate elements to the wall. The angled (to stud grid) orientation of the side walls help add interesting complexity, and the sloped SNOT entrance walls are memorable. GoC from me, so hereby approved!
  12. @timbeg - How much would you charge to make a doublesided cloth flag with the Corrington design ( )? Roughly the size of the Imperial Guard flag from recent Imperial Flagship? Thanks!
  13. I agree that it is pretty exotic looking @Spud The Viking called lime a 'risk' above, but I think it's scary (like slimer from ghostbusters scary). The lime is tamed somewhat by the reddish-brown of the trim & pergola With Ayrlego's recent builds Jameston really has its own bright architectural style now
  14. Nice pepper plants! They look great. Fun tiled porch floor! For the tree, how did the 5 tubes in a 1x1 hole work out? The aboveground tree looks good It doesn't have brown branches breaking off from the 5 trunks, but it doesn't take much of a leap to believe the plant leaves with the tubes running through them could be branches themselves. I've tried to stay away from a lot of those torsos you used because I try to exclusively use yellow heads, and the exposed tan skin means they would look weird with yellow heads. They look really good here though! I can imagine yellow heads being a bit bright/clashy with the lime you used for the building, so tan minifigs seems like the better choice here on top of just being a great fit thematically. Quite a lime collection! That's a bunch of tiles and round plates! I recently got three 1x2 lime tiles and five 1x1 lime tiles and thought I was all set... Also re: commercial vs. artisan, I think it is more fun to make it artisan so you can really call out the creativity of the artist who is experimenting with spice blends Though Jameston has more artisan than commercial at the moment
  15. This might be big enough for a boat to rest upon?
  16. The background looks great! Nice work. I like the officer ducking out of view of the pirates on the stairs
  17. Not Star Warsy at all! Looks great and really has the Lotii feel from previous builds - nice work!
  18. Check these out: From this link: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-52256/bricksmartworkshop/whales-31088-2-to-1-plus/#details Here is another from Brothers Brick:
  19. Yes I think we'd all love to see examples in the thread
  20. Thanks! I have started to license some of my builds, but I think most are still like this - kind of supporting builds for a story arc I need to start making some EGS money soon to support some grander plans. Like you mentioned, I would love to see more non-licensed storybuilds from others. I really like to read stories about the the day-to-day of Enlightenment era life. Thanks! Started out by playing with some sideways light bley slopes and went from there. I had intended to do the whole thing with 1x slopes but quickly realized I didn't have enough, so expanded to 2x - this ended up adding some streamside topography! Thanks! Thanks! After looking at the picture some more I have some more ideas for how to make the tree trunk look more natural (less boxy) and will try those out in the future. Thanks! Like I said in the OP, your slope usage gave me the idea! Excited to see what you come up with if you give it a try. You'll be seeing the mushrooms (+ some friends) again soon Thanks! The only color flexitube I have at the moment is light bley, so it meant my tree was going to be a birch rather than a brown variety! I started out by jamming 5 bare tubes into that 2x2 hole in the green SNOT, but then decided it'd be more fun to put 1x1 round bricks on the tube - at that point only 3 fit in the hole! Excited to see what you come up with if you use it
  21. Elsabeth and Treewa the Onondaga find a bunch of mushrooms
  22. Elsabeth Stockton was a lady of means. Her father was a general in the army back in Belson and she had grown up in a stately manor outside the city. She wasn't one to wait around twiddling her thumbs. She had arrived in Wullham earlier that month and learned of Captain Brickleton's mission away in Terraversa. Now she and her servant were staying at the inn located in the town center. As they headed for the front door of the inn intending to go for a walk, the attendant manning the hotel desk let Elsabeth know she had received a letter. The letter was from Captain Brickleton. He had caught wind of her travels to Wullham via an acquaintance in the Naval Intelligence Office. He let her know that his mission in Terraversa had been successful and the island was at peace. The war was over! He also included some notes about interesting things Elsabeth should explore in Wullham. There was a mysterious heart-shaped carving, Brickleton's own mayoral home, and an Onondaga friend named Treewa she should call on. She had already explored Brickleton's home when she initially sought him out earlier that month. She made a mental note to see the carving soon. The Onondaga friend intrigued her - the idea of meeting a friendly native of the Brick Seas fascinated her. The Onondaga were a native tribe from the island where Brickleton had been stationed prior to coming to found Wullham. Elsabeth decided to seek out the Onondaga friend, and she and her servant set out at once. They found the Onondaga friend Treewa at his home outside of town and he offered to take Elsabeth for a nature walk. He had scouted out much of the island when the settlers first arrived. The group traveled inland toward the large interior mountain. They approached a rushing stream and Treewa leapt up onto a fallen tree trunk and crossed over. Elsabeth and her servant warily followed. On the far side of the stream they found a large assortment of sizable mushrooms surrounding a rotting tree stump. Treewa recognized the fungi varieties as edible and collected them for the group to have for dinner that night back in Wullham. OOC: @Ross Fisher's shell craters that looked to me like rotted tree trunks got me thinking about mushrooms Also was really intrigued by @Kai NRG's Cherry Blossom Fort where she loosely coupled slopes and inverted slopes in the walls to make tessellations with gaps. i figured the same could be done with slopes and wedges
  23. There were a few waves of Duplo pirates, but the cool ones were 2005 - 2007 I think https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=S&catString=167.61
